Okie Dokie... Dumb Question time!!

I've seen posts with pictures in them, and I've seen posts that have URL links and YouTube links. The latter two I've figured out how to do (Copy/paste), but how do I have a post with a pic inside?

You mean like this?

You need to wrap the link to the image between IMG tags - [img]http://i44.tinypic.com/feqibr.jpg[/img]

You can also change the image's attributes and make it smaller... (or bigger, but then it's not pretty, because it pixelizes)

As far as the youtube links, SMF automatically embeds the video into the page:

You can also stop the embedding by wrapping the link in a noembed tag - [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I438RH1oUJc[/noembed]

That way you can also link to the video with a different text:

Be sure that you're linking to an actual image (not a web page) and watch out for sites with anti-hotlinking rules. A really safe way to get around that is to copy the pic to your system, and then upload it to an image hosting site (Imageshack and Photobucket are good for 'safe for work' images, and you can use the Elliquiy wiki to host NSFW images).

Woot! You can also resize big pictures by specifying the width in the front tag:

Good. Now only to transfer it to some free image hosting service. Like Oni says, Photobucket and Imageshack are all good, personally I like TinyPic.

Hotlinking is a very bad netiquette as it takes precious traffic from the site owners (such as the Wiki) and for that reason many sites block it.

Sure, you can start a non-adult thread if you like. Remember that all the public areas are PG-13, so you could get as violent as, say, an Indiana Jones movie.

There are several online photo editors that you can use to resize a pic. Or you can use your paint program on your computer to do the same.

I use lunapic.com quite a lot for photo editing.
