Hey everyone,

I wanted to start a thread to showcase songs you think are just beautiful. Whether they be songs that make you cry or sing from happiness, lets see what you think is beauty captured in music.

Ill start with Secret by Receptor

'Opening' - Part 1 of 'Glassworks' - Philip Glass

Found the LP a year ago. Nearly ruined it for love of this song.

Just sorting out a few. This is such a high point with a fave band of mine, a band that will never be hip but who cares, I owe them so much. Chris Squire's basslines here are killer stuff, very sneaky and graceful, then thunderous moments later,  Jon Anderson's vocal is exquisite, and the whole track moves me on so many levels. It could be a statement on human love, religious love, or both, and on man and nature,

Yes-Heart of the Sunrise

Blues ballads don't get better than this, and Cassie is an astonishing singer:

Cassandra Wilson - Easy Rider

Keith Jarrett and Jan Garbarek, say no more. This is such a gem, it's midway betwen jazz and r'n'b, very playful and with a wonderful, effortless sense of "lift" at the heart of the track,

Keith Jarrett - Late Night Willie

Explosions in te Sky. Their music is entirely instrumental but the full albums take you on such a ride of emotions. While many tracks are soothing and relaxing they break the albums up with songs representing emotional highs and lows. The music is very symbolic of telling a story without words. As strange as it sounds the music from the movie Friday Night Lights that they made is a perfect example of it. It is also great music for when you just need to concentrate and crank out some work.
