I really don't have any special preference, though computer age would make things very difficult for Hanako without having loads of false names with the Hyuuga clan hunting her.

I think it'd be interesting to run this as a modern setting. Means I can send you guys against police SWAT teams :P

That could be fun, though I have no clue how effective guns are in d20 modern. They just seemed like crossbows that could multi-attack given the stats. Though I'm imagining there are quite a few feats to make them better.

There are. And most SWAT teams you would be facing would have stuff like flash bangs, heavy body armor, and be well trained in group tactics.

They'd still get wiped out by a single jounin of course.

Yeah...  So long as the swat teams aren't up against team lvl 1.

Yeah the students would get wrecked in a straight up fight. Though I'd think with stealth the low levels could handle a couple of normal humans.

I'm going to assume, as is suggested in the nd20 book, that normals are only level 1 or 2. If this isn't true than any ideas I may have on the matter could be completely false.

Most normals are level 1 or 2. Experienced SWAT teams who have several years under their belt are obviously going to be higher level.

Ok, more on stats now. I'm working on techniques, but had a few questions. Firstly there are the training techs, especially the ones that increase your chakra pool, are those allowed. Secondly, I'm trying to avoid hi and kinjutsu, but most of the high rank ones are hi or kin. What should I do about that? Would substituting in lower ranked techs work?

I also wanted to know which summons were acceptable to take, I'm trying to decide which would fit the character the best.

Any summon not in the Conjurer's Codex are fine. Any technique that you meet the prerequisites for is acceptable.

Could you use the mythweavers character sheet when you are ready to have it checked over? That looks to be a bit of a mess :/

Hey exis, if you go to myth-weavers.com there is an actual naruto d20 page complete with space for techniques and Chakra and whatnot.  Just throwing that out there if you care to move it over later.

I had too many techs for them to fit so I tossed those into one of the blurb sections at the bottom.

That's fine. Just remember the rules on wealth bonus though- Any wealth dc above 15 is a -1 penalty to your wealth bonus. Any wealth DC above yours is another -1. Any wealth dc 10 or more above yours is -1d6.

I think that last one's correct... Not at my book right now.

According it the book only one of the negatives applies at any time and 11-15 up is -1d6. There's a reason I bought my items in the order I did in order to lose as little as possible.

To be honest I didn't even know there was a D20 Naruto game out until this thread mentioned it. Now I've downloaded it and had a bit of a look through it seems interesting (I've played a Naruto PBEM before but that used the Mutants and Masterminds 2nd Edition rules). Are there still vacancies for students in this PBEM? Also are there rules for creating your own jutsus in the Naruto D20? (I came up with some interesting jutsus for my previous Naruto character, but that was using M&M rather than this system)

 To answer the questions:

1) There's still room in this game, but this is a PBP not a PBEM

2) Yes, there are rules for creating your own techniques.

Thanks Shadowfox! I know this is a PBP, I was just saying abut my past experience. Are there any other students in the game besides Mysterica's character?

Also, Mysterica, to access the character sheet you mentioned on myth-weavers.com , do you have to register with the site?

Yes, there are other students. At least one, though he hasn't adapted his character sheet to 1st level :P

And yes, you need to register with myth-weavers to use the sheets there.

Thanks for the help, Shadowfox!

Now I'm just looking to see what sort of characer I should create. Mysterica's character seems to be a taijutsu user like Hinata and Hiashi in the main series, and I'm not sure abuot Inerrant Lust's character. Wuold it be better for the group if I played a scout type with enhanced senses and some melee and jutsu capability like my previous character? Or would it be better if I went for an elemental-type ninjitsu expert? Or maybe a genjutsu specialist? Mysterica, EL, what do you think?

Kiyomi was going to be a seven swordsman in training, with some taijutsu and water ninjutsu to boot.

Not sure how she'd fit in a modern setting, though..
