"We'll just have to find out who our target is," Petra said. "Preferably before we get there."

"Well we have a list of Firebrand agents," Yuchi said. "You, me and Tal may as well compare it to the list of attendees while Skylar goes to check up on Rochelle. If she doesn't mind I mean."

"Not at all. I had plans to run down there anyway." Sky said with a shrug. "Petra, come get me when they're done comparing. I'll see you soon." She smiled, pushing her chair back before heading for the door. "Anything I should know before I get there?" She added hesitantly.

"Not that I know of," Morrison replied, taking her hand in his.  "I'll go with you, think Rochelle could do with all the support she could get right now." He was thinking to himself he wanted to ask Skylar something as well but he knew it could wait till after they had been to sickbay.

"Okay then... Let's go." She said, pushing out the door. "Something the matter, you're a bit tense." She noted, squeezing his hand slightly.

"Huh?" he said, confused for a moment. "Oh...no, it can wait. Its nothing urgent, certainly not compared to this." When they arrived at the sickbay it was largely empty, other than its one seemingly permanent occupant and in one corner of the room Rochelle's bed. Her lover had evidently decided to take a break so she was left alone. A quick glance didn't seem to reveal any injuries but she was wired to various machines. "She's in a medically induced coma," Morrison said as they approached. "She'd probably be unconscious anyway but they can't decide what to do next till they know for sure if they can take the bullet out."

Sky stepped up beside the bed, looking down at her with sad eyes. "They would have to be fully prepared for anything in order to remove that. It would be a long and dangerous procedure, that's for sure. Preparation for any and every possible outcome would be necessary." She sighed, leaning her back against the wall. "I just can't wait until I have that bastard cornered, where I can wrap my fingers around his neck and watch as the life was slowly drained out of him." She hissed as her eyes closed and a wicked smile crossed her features. "However, death would be too easy for him. So I won't." She sighed, regaining her composure.

"She's the only one of the wounded not up and about," one of the nurses said, walking over. "They don't want to say it to Ray but they're worried even if she wakes up she may never walk again. He's in the worst state though, he had something planned."

"Oh no," Morrison said, seeing the ring box sat on the cabinet by the bed. "No wonder he's been sat by her bed so much since they got back, I had no idea."

Sky followed his gaze to the box, stepping over to it and opening it. "It's gorgeous, there is no way she would refuse." She sighed, setting the box down. "That's gotta be rough. But she is strong, and whether or not she walks again shouldn't matter. As long as she wakes up again." She shrugged with a slight smile. "You'll pull through, because I haven't had my rematch yet."

Stretching out her back, Sky turned her eyes to Morrison. "Well this is depressing. Come on, cheer me up some so I'm not down while on my mission." She smiled, retaking his hand.

"You're right," he said. "Tell Roy he only needs to give me a shout if he needs someone to talk to," he said to the nurse before leading Skylar outside. What he had witnessed just before, and knowing the danger she was faced he took both her hands and looked into her eyes. "What would you say if I asked you to marry me?" he asked, blushing slightly.

"I would say you were out of your mind, but then again. I would be out of my own for saying yes." She looked up at him with large eyes. "Why, were you planning on asking me?" Sky caught herself blushing this time.

"I was thinking of asking you," he said with a slightly nervous laugh. "But if you think its a daft idea don't worry. I'm getting too ahead of myself." He winced slightly, his wound from earlier was still painful and the painkillers had evidently finally worn off at the worst possible moment.

"Who cares about daft? I mean, who knows. Marriage might be fun." She winked, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him. "Try asking me properly when I get back, though." She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.

"But what if..." he said, stopping. "No you're rightit can wait." Seeing Rochelle in such a bad way had shaken him up and he wasn't sure he wanted to wait, but he was worried that if he rushed into it she would say no. He let out a sigh, unsure what to do.

This time it was Sky's turn. She pulled his head down and kissed him gently, but didn't let up for a long time. When she pulled away she was gasping for air. "Just calm down. Everything will work out just fine." She promised, intertwining her fingers with his.

"I want to go with you," he said. "Not that I don't trust Petra to look after you but I'll be sat worrying about you the entire time you're away and that's the last thing these guys need." He kissed her deeply himself, holding her close in his arms. "I can't bear to let you go, cheesy I know."

"Not cheesy, sweet. But I'd be in more danger if you came with me because I would be worrying about you the entire time. You're injured and you need to rest." She sighed, moving her mouth in time with his.

"Petra, in the tunnel...." he said, pausing. "She was right. I've never felt this way about anyone else. You may be shocked to hear this but I don't really go around proposing to every girl I meet," he said, laughing at the absurdity of the statement but glad it lightened the mood slightly."

"Oh yes, I'm quite shocked to hear that." Sky's voice was full of light sarcasm. "I would never have guessed." She laughed, snuggling close to him for as long as she could before she had to leave.

"You know we don't have to go yet," he said, laughing at her enthusiasm. "The meeting isn't for for two days so if we go to Svalbard now you'll be sat in the freezing cold for hours and its not like you'll have any hunky men to snuggle up to," he said, a cheeky grin crossing his face.

Sky shrugged. "Two days is nothing. So much to do and never enough hours on the clock, isn't that how it usually is?" She sighed, punching his arm. "It's not like I have any here either." She teased, pulling away and walking down the hall.

"Well what are we going to do while we wait," he said, gripping her hand tighter. "I could do with something to eat in all honesty, feels like an age since I last ate something." He felt slightly embarrassed as his stomach rumbled loudly. "I could REALLY use some food it seems."

"Well, out of the many choices you have offered it seems my choice is... Food." Sky laughed, moving down the hallway. "What do want to eat?" She asked, cracking her neck as she walked.

"Why don't you choose?" he asked. "I'll eat near enough anything so you're unlikely to pick something I can't eat." When they walked into the mess hall there were several soldiers sat around the tables, few of whom were not carrying an injury. In one corner were sat Pierre and Izzy, who still looked shaken but was at least chatting to the Frenchman. He nodded and smiled when he saw them enter.

"Soup... I deffinately could go for some mushroom soup." Sky said, her eyes glazing as drool collected at the corners of her mouth. Shaking her head she came back to reality, waving slightly at the Frenchman. "I still want that soup." She added, eyeing the kitchen.

"Why don't you go and grab a seat?" Morrison asked, kissing her lightly on the lips. "I'll be as quick as possible but if it's this busy it might take a bit of time," he said with a laugh. He finally let go of her hand and headed over towards the bar, glad to see that it was relatively free of people at that moment.
