"You can count on me." Sky said, walking in the direction of Morrison and the other soldiers. "It's about time we got this party started. How much longer do you think until they call us into action?"

"We can't be completely sure," Morrison replied. "Best guess is 15 minutes. These are the rest of our strike team and our pilots, thought you guys should have a chance to get to know each other before we start shooting. If any of you have questions about what we're about to do ask them now cos we won't get another chance."

"Well technically speaking, you can ask your question at any time. However, you might not get an answer later." She winked at him with a smile as if to say, 'Top that why don't you'. She crossed her arms and shifted her weight so that she was standing mostly on her left leg.

"Very funny," Morrison said to Skylar with a smirk. "Petra, can you make sure these boys and girls behave? I want a word with Skylar before we leave." He took Skylar's hand and took her towards where the dorms were. "Just in case one of us doesn't make it back from this I wanted to do this." He pulled her into a kiss, not caring whether anyone else could see as he held her in his arms.

Skylar couldn't help but to smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss. "You know, I'm having a deja vu moment right now. Didn't you say that the last time we got into trouble?" She raised an eye brow with a small laugh. "Well, I'll give you points for effort." She laughed again before kissing him again, finally pulling away with a smirk. "Save the other half for later when we return from kicking some ass."

"I just wanted to be sure, if we didn't make it out of this, that I had managed to share at least one last kiss with you," he said, laughing. As he turned to walk back to the others he planted a cheeky slap on her ass. "I don't know if anyone ever told you but you look great in uniform."

"Well if you keep talking like that, then you really will die. You know that... Right?" Sky rolled her eyes with a laugh and a shake of the head. However, when he slapped her ass a small squeak pushed past her lips. "Oh my God! You are so childish." She burst into laughter as she playfully rammed shoulders with him. "And no... Nobody has before and neither are you. This isn't standard uniform, this is just me dressing up for the occasion. You don't honestly think I would wear that color for such an important event do you?" She made a silly face at Petra before laughing again. "But thanks for the compliment any way."

"Well, you're welcome to wear it again when we get back," he said with a smirk. He suddenly saw that the crews had suddenly got busy again. "Okay, I'm guessing something is hapening," he said seeing the fighter pilots heading to their planes. "Just one last kiss for good luck," he said, pulling her into a kiss which he held for as long as possible.

"I hate to break the happy couple up," Petra said with a laugh, "but we've got a five minute warning for take-off so we'd better get on the planes."

Skylar nodded, her face suddenly falling to a more serious look. Being a Gemini had it's perks. It made it alot easier for her to switch in between 'fun mode' and 'mission mode'. "Is there anything else that needs to be done before we take off? Better to be safe to double check than to be sorry later."

"Nope, we're all set to go," Petra replied. "We just need to get on the planes and take off when the call comes in." Morrison took her hand, leading her to one of the three transport planes they had been left as the last of the fighter pilots climbed into their planes. Most of the soldiers on the plane were unfamiliar but Turk was stood talking to the pilots and nodded in their direction, smiling.

The minute she stepped up onto the transport plane, Skylar felt a blanket of unease fall over her head. It wasn't nerves, for when she got nervous she got pumped up and hyper, but it was deffinately something. She took a seat and withdrew her knife, placing the tip of the blade on the palm of her hand, and began to twirl it around. When Turk smiled at them, she looked up but failed to return the smile, instead she looked back down at the knife and concentrated on the glint of silver.

Petra was the last to climb on board, one of the ground crew sliding the plane's door shut once she was inside, the internal lighting turning on. She holstered her pistol, sitting down and indicating two free seats next to her.

"Come on you two lovebirds," she said with a smirk. "You need to be sat down during takeoff, it can get a bit rough in planes like this."

Sky didn't say anything, but took the seat next to Petra anyway. She knew it would be smart to return the small knife to its sheath before taking off, but she made no move to do so. Keeping her eye on the blade she began to hum softly, listening to the notes fill her ears.

"Here we go," Morrison said as the sound of the engines bursting into life became audible. The fighter planes took off ahead of them as the plane took off rather bumpily into the air. "You two stick with me," Morrison said to Skylar and Petra. "Hopefully we'll act as each other's lucky charms," he said, trying to lighten the mood, the other soldiers with grim looks on their faces.

As the plane hit turbulence, it got a little more bumpy than Sky had anticipated. One of the bumps caused her to drag the knife down her palm, wincing as she did so. With a sigh she sheathed the knife and stared at the long cut across her left palm. She laughed to herself as she dragged her tongue across the wound, the taste of metal filling her mouth. "So much for lucky charms." She shrugged as she closed her wounded hand into a fist.

"Luckily for you I bought some bandages," Petra said with a laugh. She took Skylar's hand, pulling the bandages from her jacket and wrapping it around the wound. "We need to make sure Rajkovic is ours to deal with," she said, leaning close to Skylar so only she could hear. "Which means losing Morrison and Turk at some point."

Sky nodded, though only slight enough for Petra to see. "Leave that part to me. I'm sure I can think of something." She replied under her breath, staring at the white bandaging with a smile. "But we have to be quick... Push our way off of the plane first and make a break for better cover." She added finally looking up at Petra.

"No," she replied. "For one thing that'll make them too suspicious, plus that place is a rabbit warren. We don't have the first idea where to look for him. I have a way of finding him though, just leave locating him to me, you sort out shaking our bodyguards."

"I don't know about you, but me leaving the plane isn't as suspicious as you would think. But alright.... I just hope you don't mind doing a bit of acting yourself when it comes time to ditch them."

She was about to answer when Turk signalled from the front of the plane where he was talking to a grizzled looking middle-aged man in a rather worn-looking French Foreign Legion uniform.

"Damn," Morrison said, "I thought that guy was dead. You should go speak to him Skylar, he's a bit of a legend and...I think he has a connection to you. His name's Phillipe, he doesn't bite I promise."

"I have no idea what you are talking about but whatever." She said as she stood and walked up to the front of the plane. "What's up Turk? Morrison said I should come up and talk to you guys. You're Phillipe right?" She asked, turning an eye to the man.

"Phillipe, meet Skylar, one of Morrison's squad. "Skylar, meet Phillipe De Mernier. You might not recognise his name but you fought alongside his brother and...well, I'll let him explain."

"Turk is right," Phillipe said. He reached into his uniform and pulled out a family photo of him and a younger man who looked quite similar to him. "My brother Mathieu was one of your pilots on the mission your team was wiped out in. I was told I should take comfort from the fact it was his helicopter the bomb exploded in so he would have died instantly. As for our connection, I owe my life to your mother. My mother was very ill while she was pregnant with me, she collapsed in the middle of the cafe she had gone for lunch in but by chance your mother was there. But for her quick thinking my mother told me it is unlikely she, or I, would be here today."

"He was a good pilot. I purposely rode on the chopper he was flying because he knew how to fly it smoother than anyone else I knew." She paused a moment, her mind playing back to the sight of the burning metal. Shaking her head, she smiled. "And knowing my mother, she probably had her eye on your mother since the moment she walked into the room. She has always been so good about that. It was like she could sense disaster just far enough in advance that she could be there to help, especially when children were involved. I think that's why she went into the medical field in the maternity department. I sure wish I could talk to her right now." She sighed as she balanced herself just as another bump hit.

"When we get out of this I'd like to meet her," Phillipe said with a smile. "She gave my mother a photo of her the last time she saw her, I keep it on me whenever I'm going into battle because I like to think of it as my lucky charm. Its how I recognised you, you could almost be the spitting image of her."

"You have no idea how many times I have heard that." She laughed before nodding. "Yeah sure. I'll give her a call when we get back and tell her that I'm bringing home a guest for dinner." She laughed at the thought of her mom on the other end of the line talking to a girl she had thought to be dead. "She makes a rocking meat lasagna." She added, her mouth watering at the mere mention of her mother's cooking.
