Sky rested her hand on her shoulder, her cold mask returning to sheild the tears that desperately fought to fall. "Fizz make sure he is alright... It's not the medics we need now but the bomb squad... are they here yet?" Her eyes kept drifting back to the body that lay in her friend's arms. "I swear to you that we will fight back... and we will hit them twice as hard. Come on, we have a world to save." She allowed a warm smile to spread across her lips and even touching her eyes. She would not allow this to go unpunished, and she sure as hell wasn't going to rest until she had either won the battle or died trying.

"They've just arrived," Fizz said, having handed her phone to the head of the bomb squad. "You guys have some visitors though."

Tom looked round to see an unusally patterned APC had parked amidst the police cars and ambulances. Tom was stood in front of it, Yuchi and Izzy climbing out of the back of the vehicle. They walked over, grim looks on their faces.

"I'm sorry," Tom said. "By the time Petra could tell us what was happening we had no time to dispatch a team to help you and we couldn't reach you in time either."

"There was nothing you could have done anyway... The serum was causing her pain, I did what had to be done." She held out the gun for him to take from her. "Now these guys need to deal with bomb number two. I honestly hope that they can disarm it though..." The hand that held the gun was shaky and her legs threatened to drop her to the ground beside the body but not once did she change her expression.

"Yuchi, you might want this," Morrison said, handing over the disk he had taken from his sister's body. "I don't know what's on it but she said it might be able to help us stop Firebrand."

"I'll see what I can do," Yuchi replied. "Luckily I remembered to bring my laptop with me."

"We'll make them pay, I promise you," Morrison said to Skylar, putting his arms around her and holding her close.

"I won't rest until Firebrand falls and I have my gun pressed up against his head. Until the moment that jail cell closes behind that monster, I won't be able to find peace. Though she wasn't my sister by blood, she looked after me and protected me from everything... Now it's our turn to stand up for her. We can not fail her." Her words held no emotion, no hint of rage or sorrow, as if these words were only fact. She wrapped her arms around Morrison, holding onto him tightly as she fought the tears that threatened to tear her apart.

"We have more of a plan this time," Tom said, "and more back-up. Its what comes in handy when you have MI6 agents helping you."

"See, I'm not just a pretty face," Izzy said with a laugh, trying to lighten the mood."

"Happy now Tom? Are you happy? Because as far as I see it, her losing her life is a win for you. It was you from the beginning who opposed the idea of me going out on my own, and everyone continued making the point that I shouldn't go and instead wait on M16's decision. Now my reason for going out on my own and possibly risking you, your team and everyone else related to you is now gone. So I'll ask you again. Are. You. Happy?" Her eyes were ablaze and her words held a venom that she very rarely used against others.

"And what if yu charging in here had got the hostges killed?" Tom said. "Would you really-"

"Tom, you're going to want to see this," Yuchi called out. "All of you might. I think I know where the hostages are but...I don't know if they're okay."

He came over and saw where Yuchi was pointing, a farm in the middle of Iowa.

"It looks like its barely defended," Yuchi said. "I guess they aren't expecting anyone to work out where it is."

"We can't risk sending a full-scale assault in," Tom said. "If the hostages are still alive and they see us coming they'll kill the hostages in a second. We need a plan."

Sky rolled her eyes at the man before walking over to look at what Yuchi was talking about. "Night ops mission would work best, assuming we can get there with little light as possible. Honestly, do any of you ever play video games. This is the easiest level there is." Her temper and annoyance was leaking through her voice, but she did nothing to keep it in check. Check the weather for the closest date we can get there. We are looking for a cloudy, even rainy evening. Anything to limit visibility."

"Something about this is too easy," Izzy said. "I want to believe we can go in and retrieve them easily as much as the next person but why would Firebrand leave them that undefended?"

"That would be where the secret entrances come in handy," Tyler said, appearing behind them. "They have a network of tunnels under most of their bases to ensure they can move people and guns around unnoticed. If we could distract their guards out front then we could send and armed team through the tunnels to retrieve the hostages."

"That works too... I guess." Sky sighed listening to every word closely. "I'll be the decoy then... It will make the most sense because of my uncontrollable mood swings." She hissed, eyes darting to Tom.

"No, I'll do it," Tyler said. "They know you're with Tom, as far as they know I'm still on their side. If they get suspicious of our decoy they may start shooting the hostages. Your anger will be more useful if the armed team run into problems with the retrieval. If something goes wrong the team need to be prepared to start shooting, you can't afford to worry about me."

"What reason would you have with the hostages... that would be just as suspicious. I think it would be better if maybe you took me with you as an addition to the hostages? If you want to be believable you have to act a little... be a bit more theatrical. Everyone has seen my tendencies to run off on my own, so you capturing me isn't that farfetched of an idea." She countered with a valid point.

"She's got a point," Izzy said. "If they think you're bringing a hostage in they'll be less suspicious. We could do with Turk and Petra for this mission but Turk is in hospital still and Petra's in no state to expect her to help. We'll have to make sure we pick the right team for the job."

"Leave it to me," Tom replied. "I know our teams better than anyone, I'll know who's more suited to this operation."

"Just dont take too long... we dont have a lot of time before our window of plausibility closes. If you wait too long then the likelyhood of him actually catching a hostage from this mission is very unlikely. You should contact people on the move Tom... We can't stay much longer."

"Well all our forces are moving to our mainland base anyway," Tom replied. "Best choice is probably Raven team, Petra's team before she went full time secret agent. Most have trained to deal with this kind of extraction. Add me, Morrison and izzy and we have all we need."

"Great. Call them so we can go... One more thing... What are we going to do if there is a Firebrand spy watching us right now? We might have to make this more complex then I thought."

"Firebrand left me a contact," Tyler said. "Someone to call if I needed to tip them off without risking giving away who I was to anyone else. It'll take us longer to get there than it will for Raven to reach it, we may as well give ourselves a headstart. Assuming you're ready to go now I mean."

"I've been ready, let's do this." She smiled, her blood already beginning to pump with adrenaline. "So what exactly are you going to tip them off with?"

"They think I'm doing the same job for them I'm really doing for MI6," he replied. "People can find out things they aren't meant to, and after all people would be more suspicious if your bullet-ridden body turned up suddenly. Let's just say you can be an example of me tidying up loose ends. Don't worry, I'm not about to injure you to make it more convincing."

"I wouldn't care either way, but the less pain the better I guess." Sky shrugged with a sigh. "Alright, well we had better not waste any more time standing here. We should go."

He walked over to where a red Honda was parked, unlocking the car so that she could get in before dialling a number into his mobile.

"Scott, this is Raker," he said into the phone. "I have a hostage to bring in but I'm not sure where to take her. Sure, I'll meet you there in 15 minutes." He turned to her. "He wants to meet us in Times Square, he'll give us the address and the password to get past the guards there."

"Perfect." She stated, sitting back in the chair comfortably. "Please let this go well so we can be in and out of there in the least amount of time possible." She mumbled to herself looking out the window.

"Well I can't guarantee this'll be quick," he said as he climbed into the car. "Also if you have a gun put it in the glove compartment, if they realise you're carrying a gun they might not buy the hostage scenario quite so easily. Hostage-takers normally make sure their victims are unarmed, in my experience anyway."

"No problem... The only gun I have is yours anyway." She smiled, pulling out the gun she had taken from him and slid it into the glove compartment. "You will find that my perception of time is quite different from that of a normal person's... who knows, it might just go quicker for me then it will for you." She chuckled to herself before sitting back in the chair once more.
