Can we replace Crowe's Whip proficiency (an exotic weapon) with Star Knife?  (A martial weapon?)

If you prefer not too, I can use the new Heirloom Weapon trait, but it's pretty sucky.

I can fill in the fighter role via a bunnygirl monk!

Given where I intend to take this campaign, I think a bunnygirl would be a rather inappropriate character. Sorry!

Muse

Tengu is away from the computer at the moment.  We were talking about a concept he might like.

Flying Tengu

Hello!  I'm the Tengu he's talking about.

I just had the thread pointed out to me at about the time that Muse mentioned he might know someone.  The two concepts I have are of a male Monk, who believes that achieving perfect discipline is the best way to reach one's goals (which includes defeating evil), and a female Paladin, with a firm sense of Justice, who believes that, as long as there are steadfast defenders of good, the triumph of good is inevitable.

I'm about to head out, but I will have some time later.  I should be all done in... 19 hours.  Is that acceptable?  Let me know if that is not, or if neither of these character snippets sound like a good fit!

TheKhan

Sounds good Tengu. I'd go with the monk personally, although either would be interesting. The Paladin might... Struggle with the first adventure.

Crowe

I have a question about the setting at the start of the game. How is it going to be? When? Where? Things like that.

Still working, but here's a start!

Discipline.  Without discipline one cannot change oneself.  If one cannot change oneself, how can one hope to affect the world?  This summarizes the code that Solipsis lives by.

The Haruken are a destroyed peoples, living in the harshest  of the harsh cold of Cis-Midgard, already ice covered before the Frost Giants came.  Their homeland was natural territory for the invaders, making them the first to fall to the Frost Giant onslaught.  With many brave warriors, they fought hard.  They fought to the last.  Now they are broken, scattered, with only a handful even alive, most in the captivity of the Frost Giants.  Solipsis is one such.

It was five years ago that his tribe was destroyed by the Frost Giants.  Solipsis was a young warrior, just old enough to fight.  He was also the son of the chief.  Meaningless, now.  The chief is dead, killed in battle, as is the tribe.  Solipsis saw little of the battle, a thrown boulder striking near enough to him to knock him unconscious as he was caught outside of cover.  When he awoke, everyone in his tribe was either dead or captured.  The humiliation of captivity was almost impossible to bear for Solipsis.  He raged, sometimes at the giants, sometimes being severely beaten for his troubles.  Sometimes he would rage as other captives, beating or being beaten by them.  It was a path with one end: death.

A man named Gankuo took him off this path.  Having been struck down, once again, by a Frost Giant, Solipsis seized a jagged piece of rock, rushing up to the to the laughing Frost Giant from behind.  He would have struck at him, but Gankuo subdued him easily, holding him until the rage passed.  At first, Solipsis was furious as Gankuo, as was his way.  Gankuo would only explain, calmly, rationally, what would have resulted from Solipsis' rash attack.  Finally, Solipsis calmed.

From then on, Solipsis became Gankuo's student.  The older man was an expert fighter, but he did not fight.  The key to his fighting, he explained, was watching, waiting.  And in order to watch and wait, one needed the discipline, the firmness of belief, to watch and wait, not just for a possible moment, but the best possible moment.  Solipsis struggled with the teaching, but he was attached to Gankuo as a drowning man to a piece of driftwood.  His teachings included more than fighting and patience.  They also imparted Gankuo's view of the world, and the nature of good and evil.

One day, three years later, Gankuo vanished.  None of the other captives saw him leave.  Solipsis believes that he has learned enough to get by from Gankuo, but the mystery troubles him to this day.

At a brief glance, Solipsis seems to be possessed of impressive calm.  It doesn't take much looking, however, to see the tension as he moves, hear it as he speaks, or simply boils behind his eyes.  Almost always, the calm eventually triumphs.  Though he still chafes under the Frost Giants, and hates them for what they have done, he has managed to control his feelings, channeling them towards a more positive purpose.  Now, in speaking with another, he is brusque, but polite, treating them with a simple respect.  He has begun to strive to do the right thing, working towards the eventual defeat of the Frost Giants, but sometimes his old lack of care for others, not wholly eliminated in his new philosophy, comes creeping back up.

Solipsis has a lean muscular build, with a leanness that comes from a few too many winters with improper food in the past few years.  Most striking are his eyes, a deep blue, seemingly cut from the northern glaciers.  His dark hair is fairly short and spiky, standing up a few inches on his head.  He usually wears blue shirt and leggings, his forearms bare even in the icy weather, another test of himself.  White fur curls out from any gap in the clothing, taking from arctic animals.  Serpent tattoos adorn his arms, and, if one sees him shirtless, his back and chest, covered with the signs of the White Dragon, the mightiest of arctic predators.

From now on, I'll only be updating the OCC thread barring something strange. Speaking of which, you may want to check my latest post there...

No, sorry. If anyone drops out, I'll let you know.

Sahariel

Hi,

I did a forum search to see if there were any Planescape campaigns. I'd love to join if you have an opening at any. I DMed a Planescape campaigns for nearly four years. I've also played through Torment and both of the Beerfish's, unofficial, NWN sequel modules.
