I think from what I see in the anime, I don't think the ability gained from the cards are as strong as the original, not to mention the attributes may also plays a part. These below are the ones that I manage to break down:
there are a few charts that plays like rock-paper-scissors like with the levels being the only one which are just straight forward:
- Data defeats Vaccine defeats Virus Defeats Data
- Wind/Lightning defeats Water/Ice defeats Fire defeats Earth/Wood defeats Wind/Lightning
For Example: Renamon (Rookie, Data, Fire) using BlackAgumon Card (Rookie, Virus, Fire): means she prob will only get 60% of the power Since the diagram, Data is weak against Virus and therefore highly incompatible but there is no discount against the level or element.
Say if she use Agumon (Rookie, Vaccine, Fire): She can use up to 90% of the power due to the high affinity with herself but still not as powerful as the original.
Rookie using Champion/adult move would discount it to 50%. Ultimate and above cannot be used by rookie.
Champion can use Rookie ability at 125% effective as long as they are compatible, 75% at worst if completely incompatible. other than that, Ultimate level moves are down to 50% and Mega to 25% even if they are compatible (Which explains why Gargomon can use Wargreymon's shield, they are compatibly Vaccine)
Ultimate can use Champion moves by 125% effective, Rookies by 150% effective, Megas by 50%. The rest are the same as above.
Mega can use Ultimate moves at 125%, Champ at 150% and Rookies at 200%, at that level, I don't see any point of them trying out other mega level attacks.
