Voyage of the Icy Star(Pathfinder seeker thread)
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:37:39 PM »
Since the last game imploded on itself, might as well remake it with some new players and see how well that goes!

Rules:

- Level 6.
- Pathfinder.
- 5d6 Standard. I like my players to be slightly more badass then your usual baddies you meet.
-20,000 starting gp.
-One personal magic item that fits your character and what sort of specializes he/she has. Like a rogue could get a bag of holding and a priestess would get a magical holy symbol. The more naughty the better as far as I am concerned. Having cursed items that affect you in naughty aspects is always a nice plus and adds variety and sexual exploitation by the other players.
-No tome or battle or magic.
- Dragon magazines maybe, subject to my approval in what those have.

Go go go!

3 players is the max that I am going for this, no exceptions this time! All the other times I've relented and let in more, as more players = slower game. So only three this time, seriously!

I'm interested though I'll have to consider what class to play, maybe a fighter or paladin, I did find a great picture of a character in full plate earlier if I can find it again.

You've flaked out of some of my games before avorae, what sort of insurance do I have that you won't do it again?

Here he is, he could definitely be a Paladin of Pelor, though I think they are called crusaders. What gods would you be allowing?

Pathfinder gods, as they are quite different.

Also full plate in a sea voyage game? Gonna be hilarious.

I know I have been in a few of your games and if I did flake out on some of them then I apologize for that. I promise though that I will not flake out on this one if you are willing to give me another chance

I'll have to make sure it's mithril! Tell us more of the Icy Star, is she a passenger ship or a military vessel?

I'll be running a NPC that is the captain of the boat, which shall be a magical steamboat type arrangement. What class she will end up being will depend on what you three are and what is missing and blah blah blah.

I'll figure out the back story later.

Ah good, we need some sort of pirate girl kaBOOM in this. That was definitely missing in the last game. Which gun type are you going for anyway?

Also just to clarify with the pathfinder gun rules, go with the early firearms and not the advanced. Makes it more pirate themed awesome.

Good thing too, since you would have had to fight Ulth for the third spot.

Here is what I've got I'm using this archetype from the SRD but if thats not allowed I can change it easy enough, http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/fighter/archetypes/paizo---fighter-archetypes/two-weapon-warrior

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=338379

I still have one or two bits of gear to get and his magic items are confined to +2 Short Swords x2, +1 Chain Shirt and a Ring of Swimming so far. As for his special item I'm still considering.

Hurry up peoples, since I got the perfect idea for who the 'captain' will be.

Can't have a game with pirates in it without a sexy ninja girl there to humiliate those dastardly pirates!

Most likely she just came up with the boat you guys will be using out of some job or stealing or stabbing. Since she has no idea what to do with it, she'll find a crew ready enough to sail into the oceans and get into some naughty trouble.

So she knows better enough to have one of you be the captain when it gets to that point, but it is still her boat, since she has the paperwork hidden off somewhere! Muwhahaha!

I'm lazy and just using an old healer from a game of hers that died. Oddly enough she used the same rules for that game. Really she uses the same rules for all her games, and they all die before you level up.

Anyway here the sheet http://plothook.net/RPG/profiler/view.php?id=8241

ahhh well missed the boat I think.
still I've been playing pathfinder for a while so i'm offering to answer questions about it, including the main setting Golarion.
and to answer you about which god would have a paladin, and yes they are still paladins though there is a crusader archatype...
Erastul aka old deadeye, god of farming, hunting, trade, family... think Nordic/Russian theme. while rare for him all the class requires is martial training, self decipline, the urge to do good deeds, and a pair of big brass balls, his followers have all four.

Iomedae The Inheritor: a mortal woman who preformed mericles and fought the wispering tyrant (anchent evil lich king guy) in the name of Andorian, who raised her up as a saint, when Andorian died she became patron to his followers and inherited his church, her symbol is a shining sword facing downward. colors are white and gold. she is a patron to crusaders, and is a big paladan patron.

Sarenrae The Dawn flower: the most widely worshiped deity in the known world, stemming from the desserts to the east, and exported across the world (which is why she gets the biggest entry) the godess of redemption and healing is the patron for paladins who win battles with their mind and hearts, not simply smashing monsters repeatedly with an iron fist till their heads fly off. that said when faced with irredeemable evil (cuthuluish shit, primal evils, etc) she is amazingly cold and calculating. the sun godess is merciful, loving, but push her too far... and she'll fry you like an egg on the sidewalk.
her symbol is the ankh
