Hoping for acceptance, here is my proposed character.
Name: Rodney Rigby, Rod for short
Appearance: 6'1". handsome, curly blond hair and blue eyes, cleanshaven. Broad shoulders and a fairly athletic body. Square jaw and high cheekbones. Big hands and big feet, a clue that he's well endowed.
Specialization: Priest of the Love Goddess; healer, missionary, specialist in fertility rituals, esp. for agriculture.
Items on person: A magical harness of leather straps which provides his entire body with protection similar to plate mail. Leather boots and a leather belt with lots of pouches, one of which contains a magical unrolling wardrobe, containing pockets in which he can keep different sets of clothes and similar items (if put inside soiled, they come out cleaned and pressed); one of the pockets is reserved for the scriptures of the goddess along with pen, ink, and parchment. A leather sheath which houses a mithril short sword, particularly effective against lycanthropes and some sorts of undead.
Bio: Raised in the holy temple, Rod has always wanted to be a holy priest. He is devoted to his goddess, and is at heart a kind and gentle soul, but he can be fierce as a protector, and can lapse into crusading mode.
The goddess has heard of what is going on in the Vale. Rod has been sent here for three purposes.
First, he is to spread the word of the goddess in this land where she is only slightly well-known. In time, it is hoped that Rod will establish a temple here, but that is in the distant future.
Second, he is to seek for the diary of another priest, a man who came to the Vale a generation ago and disappeared. The goddess knows that he kept his diary faithfully. If Rod can find word of him, the goddess would like him to find the diary, and generally discover what became of her beloved priest.
Third, it could be that some of the monsters can be redeemed. When this pertains, Rod is to see if they can be rescued from a life of evil and turned to the cause of goodness and light. Rod is dubious that this is ever going to happen, but his goddess seems to be sure that it can indeed take place.
