This comes a little late... But better late than never, right...? Name;
Grey, due to coloured contactsHair Color/Style;
Jet black, but sometimes dyed brown or blonde. Usually curled and tied in two pigtails, or pinned to the side with some elaborate floral hair ornament.Tattoos or other distinguishing marks;
As mentioned before, she sometimes dyes her hair brown or blonde (or wears a wig if she wants some crazy hairstyle for a day). She also likes wearing coloured contacts, as her natural black irises are too boring by her standards. Her fashion style is gothic lolita, with an occasional punk touch. Her makeup is always defined by heavy black eyeliner and false eyelashes or copious amounts of mascara.Skills;
Multilingual (fluent in English, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese; she knows a smattering of a few more); plays the guitar and cello; fashion designing (she designs most of her own dresses); gymnastics; cooking; cosplay.Profession;
Sociology teacher, specializing in Asian sociology and social linguistics.Role;
Despite her fondness for black makeup and clothes, Sayuri is actually quite a gentle and sweet soul, to the point of being bubbly and cheerful. She is a shrewd judge of people's characters. Hating discord, she would rather take the blame and get hurt than fight it out verbally or physically. She's not a social animal, prefering to spend her time alone than to mingle in a party. A natural curious cat, Sayuri favourite question is 'why'. In this, being a teacher has its advantages, since the college has a great library for her to explore.Personal History;
Sayuri was born in Kyoto, Japan, the only child of a ramen store owner and his wife. Though her parents were not rich, they did their best to provide Sayuri with everything a young girl could possibly want in life. It probably helped that Sayuri was not a demanding girl; but the one thing she wanted most, they could not provide. The young inquisitive girl was always wanting to know why the sky was blue, what made ramen so soft and yummy, how the shinkansen (bullet train) can move so fast... Her parents, with their poor education, could not provide those answers directly, but they saved their money, and sent Sayuri to an uncle living in Tokyo, so she could receive her middle schooling there.
Sayuri completed her middle and high school years in Tokyo. There, she learnt the cello to join the school orchestra. Sayuri enjoyed being in a big city, but it wasn't enough for her. She wanted more. Working hard on her English, she became fluent in it, and managed to win a scholarship to study science in London. Sociology took her interest too, and she began to work on a double degree. Upon graduation, she turned to research work, but found it too tedious and not rewarding enough. Besides, she was bored of London already. When the offer came from Florida looking for sociology teachers, Sayuri jumped at the chance. This will be her first term here in America, and she's still trying to get a grasp on the culture here.
