Time Setting-Modern day, Summer 2011

Game Setting

Camp Half Blood throws the Summer banquet, a welcoming feast for all the campers of Camp Half-Blood located in the Bay Area of California. (Hidden from mortal eyes on the hills by the magical force known as "the mist"). The camp serves as a haven for Demigods, children of the Roman Pantheon. At this camp, children are normally raised from age 2 until they die or decide to make a life of their own in the mortal world. Some campers choose to stay forever, very few heroes (demigods) make it past their twenties, those who do are some of the world's most influential people.

The Lupa, the wolf who raised Romulus and Remus is the camp director, she along with Achilles- The hero of the Trojan War and a Amazon Queen, Bremusa, make up the staff who overlook and raise the children of the gods. Fauns serve as friends and workers for the camper, they assist demigods most of them willingly. The surrounding areas are populated by friendly wood nymphs, waters spirits and creatures who live in harmony with the campers.

It has been over the ten years since the last child has entered the camp. Leaving most of the campers ranging from 13-20. At fist no one seemed to worry but after elven years, at the Summer Banquet the very first new demigods began to arrive. Fauns are starting to locate demigods and bring them to camp, but something is wrong, this is not the way of the Roman camp. The Lupa is meant to raise the demigods children and make sure they are worthy of being Roman Offspring or they are devoured by her.

Annoyed by the sudden influx of new campers and more to come, the Lupa ordered a "Death March"- A march in full armor through the camp, a test of strength and endurance. Achilles and Bremusa marched the campers out into "No Man's Land" the surrounding areas outside of the camps magically defended walls. Difficult obstacles and traps awaited the campers, but no one suspected the workings of an unknown force who managed to resurrect the fallen demigods and create them into a horde of skeleton warriors.

The campers rallied and fought valiantly but some were lost in the surprise attack and had to retreat since only a child of Pluto can fully kill the undead.

Retreating back to the camp, bloody, muddy and morale at an all time low. The campers try to heal their wounds and raise their spirits, hoping from word of the gods to find out what is going on!

Meanwhile in other parts of the world...

The Greek Camp, having seen a vision of the turmoil to come dispatched a group of heroes to seek a "seer" to make sense of the lines of prophecy they had recovered onto to be ambushed by the Venti. Four campers, Vincent, Libby, Valentine and Jason start their journey only to be detoured and crash land within the Roman camp's borders. Chiron, the leader of the Greek camp, afraid of repeating past civil war, erases the memories of the Greek camp of three of the four, the other (Jason) lost in the conflict with the wind spirits. Under attack by an unknown force,  Chiron weaves his spell, the Greek camp "retreats" across the sea with the remaining campers, leaving the Roman camp in charge of the whole United States.

Jason awakens in Florida, unknowingly in a property of his father after nearly falling to hid death from the chariot accident that separated him from the other Greek heroes. The seer they had sought stumbles into the home, chasing after a red Pegasus and sharing her tail of kidnapping and a very large piece of a jumbled puzzle. Neptune, god of the sea has been captured and with his Greek counterpart struggling to maintain both oceans from tearing the world apart, the sky soon falters as Jupiter leaves his domain to find his missing sibling.

In New York, another human with "gifts" is taken in by a loving couple who are later revealed keepers of a hidden patch of "wylde". Whatever attacked the Roman camp seeks to destroy this ley line that nourishes and keeps the flora and fauna of the north east alive and take possession of the human female.

Back at the camp

The campers continue to find campers arriving, unclaimed children of age arrive which had many excited but the Lupa herself enraged until an actual child is brought into the camp. With preparations for war in the process,  the new campers arrive at the worst times. War looms on the horizon...

Demigod Powers:

Jupiter(Zues):
The Greeks envisioned Zeus as a powerful and proud being while the Romans envisioned Jupiter as a more formal and stoic version of Zeus
    * Children of Jupiter are extremely powerful half-bloods (Big 3)
    * They can shock on contact if they wish, a skill they must learn to control from a young age or    cause harm.
    * They have some control over air and the sky, being the child of Jupiter, Lord of the Sky.
    * They can create lightning bolts at will.
    * They have electrokinesis (control over lightning)
    * Are commonly known to have strong leadership quality
    * They have telepathic connections to aviary animals (hawks, eagles, robins, etc.)
    * They may be aerokinetic, as Zeus controls the wind.

Neptune (Poseidon):
Neptune is overall a benevolent god, even though he shares many characteristics with Jupiter including pride, stubbornness, and being temperamental. However, he appears to have matured over the centuries to a point where these attributes do not dominate him to the same extent they do Jupiter, making him much more reasonable.
    *  Children of Neptune are extremely powerful half-bloods (Big 3)
    * Children of Neptune have the ability to breathe underwater
    * All can move water with their mind, as they are hydrokinetic (or aquakinetic)
    * They have telepathic connections to equine animals (horses, zebras, giraffes, pegasi, hippocami, etc.)
    * They don't get hurt when falling into water from a high altitude
    * Can withstand immense pressure acting on them in the sea
    * They and everything they touch stay or become dry in water, unless they want to be wet
    * All have a higher resistance to fire or burns
    * They can make water shoot out from petrified seashells
    * They can create small hurricanes around themselves (which include lightning and storm clouds) strong enough to throw enemies and deflect weapons, as their father is also god of Storms
    * All can control ships
    * All know their exact coordinates in water
    * Can make air bubbles
    * Can make water into a path
    * Can talk to each other telepathically underwater
    * Can harden water in to shields with out freezing it
    * They can create earthquakes, as their father is the god of earthquakes

Pluto (Hades):
The Roman considered Pluto to be a more benevolent god who was associated with fertility as well as death and riches.
    * Children of Pluto are extremely powerful half-bloods (Big 3)
    * They have dominion over the dead.
    * They have necromancy, the ability to summon and communicate with the dead.
    * They can kill undead skeletons.
    * They have the power to control darkness and shadows (umbrakinesis).
    * They can sense when a mortal or half-blood that they know has died through the buzzing in their ears.
    * They can create flaming fissures of hellfire that then closes, swallowing up dead creatures and immediately trapping them in the Underworld.
    * They can call forth the dead with a Stygian iron sword from the Underworld.
    * It is suggested that they can bend shadows to conceal their presence.
    * They can shadow travel (a form of teleportation that allows the creature of the Underworld to quickly travel to any desired place on earth).
    * They can put skeletons asleep by pointing at them.
    * Able to release the spirits from the souls of people who have died
    * They have geokinesis, the ability to move rocks and minerals

Ceres (Demeter):
To the Romans, Ceres is the patron goddess of the common people.
*Children of Demeter have the ability to manipulate plants (also known as chlorokinesis) and often use their abilities to make their cabin look attractive.
    *Good at cooking.

Mars (Ares):
Mars unlike Ares is not aloof, nor rebellious. Which is probably the reason the Romans favored him. According to myths Mars was the most feared and powerful God second only to Jupiter.
    * They are very strong and swift, and have incredible fighting powers.
    * Being a child of Mars would make them an expert in all weapon usage and may even have some degree of magical control over them.
    * Some may receive the blessing of Mars, which makes them near invincible while it lasts.
    * Might be expert in some war areas
    * Cursed the Apollo Archers' arrows to turn to rubber, might be able to do this with other weapons or projectiles.

Minerva (Minerva) (Athena):
Minerva was the goddess of poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, weaving, crafts and magic
    * They are master strategists
    * They are trained in hand-to-hand combat, and very good at it, as Minerva is the goddess of battle.
    * They are extremely intelligent, wise and clever, as their mother, Minerva, is the god of wisdom.

Phoerbus Apollo(Apollo):
When adopted by the Romans, Phoebus was additionally made god of the sun, and was said to be more radiant than his Greek aspect.
    * The demigod children of Apollo can heal people by singing a song to their father.
    * They can curse others to only speak in rhymes.
    * Most children of Apollo are expert archers.
    * Apollo's children are good at the arts since Apollo is the god of the arts.
    * Since Apollo is the God of Music, his children are natural Musicians.

Vulcan (Hephaestus):
To the Romans, Vulcan was the god of volcanoes (which were named after him), giving him greater power than his Greek aspect.
    * Can make anything with their hands.
    * They are experts in mechanics.
    * They should be able to control fire and volcanoes, as their father is the god of fire and volcanoes.

Venus (Aphrodite):
Venus was greatly revered by the Romans and like the Greeks, envisioned the Roman Venus as the most powerful and beautiful goddess of all
    *  hey can attract the opposite gender when they walk by.
    * Magical control over clothes, makeup, and jewelry.
    * Minor degree of love magic.
    * May be able to make anything neat because their cabin is never messy.

Mercury (Hermes):
The Romans envisioned Mercury as more of a god of commerce and trade.
    * Hermes is the god of thieves, so they might have a supernatural way of stealing things without others noticing.
    * Hermes is also a traveler god, so the children of Hermes could be able to "teleport."
    * Hermes is the god of sports and athletics, so his demigod children may excel in athletics.

Name: Lilly Fae Filshie
God or Goddess Parent:  Apollo
Claimed or Unclaimed: unclaimed
Age: 17
Any Background Info:
She may well have been a society girl, a debutant and even came out and introduced to Royalty. She may well have been a most beautiful dancer, she may well have been perfect in the eyes of many but there was a secret and certainly one that would be her downfall or perhaps her rising from the ashes.

Shall we start at the beginning though, it not a very good place to start. Lilly Fae Filchie at least that is how she was known for some time in her life. She was never wholly sure of her parentage but was adopted in the early 1900’s. her ‘parents were unable to have children and apparently she was most exquisite. Her aristocratic father had been shot out in India and it had left him somewhat unable to produce children and her mother was a social butterfly and well connected. The two were able to adopt easily  however it was yet another secrert. At least publically Alice was pregnant, there was some time where her mother disappeared from society about ten months, before she appeared again with a delightful girl.

Of course there was gossip, but the family managed very well as one would expect. Alice her mother knew that the girl her daughter would have to go at some point, that she would loose her Lilly Fae was only there for a short time with her husband and herself, but it was more than worth the sacrifice.

Of course this girl was given the best in her young life,  deportment, the best schools,  ballet and music were most important in which Lilly excelled .However after her first Debutant ball and her introduction to Royalty… it seemed that she must have the tour ….London, Paris and then America…

It was in America she was lost.

Now she performs so perfectly the dying swan, night after night after night.

Well at least she will until the phoenix raises from this half life that Lilly lives in, soon the flames and the sunlight will shine upon her true feathers.

Fatal Flaw: the need for perfection
Weapon or Skill: the look in her eye. (In all reality why would an elegant ballet dancer and performer need a weapon?) Lilly is graceful and has a demeanour about her if looks could kill well those that annoy her would be dead. As a child of Apollo she can heal when she calls to the sun, as well as her dancing ability which is trained she is a natural musician
Physical Description:
Lilly is a slight and attractive girl, she has very dark eyes and hair as well as fine features. Her smiles are wonderful to see, yet unfortunately she rarely smiles these days, her laughter appears to have disappeared too. The girl is always well turned out and her long hair is usually worn up in a pleasing manner. When speaking Lilly's voice still has a musical lilt to it and she speaks with a soft Scottish accent. However she certainly uses words that one might consider rather old fashioned. This young woman moves with the perfect grace and posture of a dancer. Certainly Lilly is a delight to behold.

Extra info- will help me develop quest/ideas for the game.
Future Goals At the moment still to perform but in some famous and large venue

Fears making a mistake, this new world
Likes ballet, dancing, singing and music, good manners and proper behaviour.
Dislikes dirt, ill manners, bad language

Well here it is guys. Enjoy!

Name: Morton Cooper

God or Goddess Parent: Mercury

Claimed or Unclaimed: Claimed

Age: 22

Any Background Info: Like his father, Mercury, Morton Cooper is also a messenger of sorts, who was tasked, from an early age, with many an important message at Camp Half-Blood where he has resided since his second birthday under the watchful eye of the Lupa, who raised him. When not playing practical jokes on his friends, Morton is the kind of person you go to when issues and problems need sorting out. Due to this his nick names are often related to this or indeed his delivering of messages. Both tasks, that unknown to him, his father from time to time would be assigned to perform.

Not knowing his true father’s identity until his sixteenth birthday, when he came to him in a vision, he often believed that he had no father as he was brought here so very young after his true mother’s untimely death. After the vision, a bird, which seems to shift into different bird types to suit the environment, first appeared to him as a cockerel and follows Morton everywhere he goes. He is unsure of its meaning and to this day does not realise that is one of the pets of his father. He has named it Coronis (Crow) as most often the creature seems to prefer this shape over all others.

Shortly after the vision, he requested time away, which was granted and after some years of wondering, he found himself in partnership running a courier business. Since he could remember, he always struggled with reading and this has only improved slightly, so while his partner did the books, he would come up with interesting ways to make the business more competitive. Quite a team they made in that.

During this time, he developed some of his more unusual skills, such as the ability to run with great speed and his exceptional agility both of which assist him if he fails at his other skills of pick pocketing individuals without notice. All of which have developed slowly over time along with, upon reaching a more mature twenty two, teleportation. It was at this point he considered returning home.

Now since considering his return his mind is clear. He has pretty much moved on from his life since the vision and focuses on seeing his father again in order to learn how to develop his skills further or indeed to just sit with him for that oh so important father and son discussion. Failed attempts to see his father again, since leaving the camp, include many a visit to the grounds of his temple in the Circus Maximus, between the Aventine and Palatine hills and on the 15th May each year without fail Morton visits Porta Capena to partake in Mercuralia which is a major festival to honour his father. Becoming more deflated with each attempt there is little stopping him from going home as he feels and has been assured that his business partner can cope without him.

He does not return home alone, not only does he return with Coronis but also he has in his possession a very vital piece of a puzzle or indeed a message, which would be the final clues to a prophecy, which his friends and family who he has not seen for almost six years might be extremely interested in seeing.

Fatal Flaw: Feels the need to know the absolute truth at any cost. Often feels less important than his friends so he is always trying to prove his worth.

Weapon or Skill:
Weapon: Dual Daggers
Skills: Run with great speed, Exceptional agility, Stealing without notice, Teleportation,

Physical Description:

Future Goals To see his father again and develop his skills further.

Fears Losing those close to him

Likes Practical jokes

Dislikes Having jokes played on him

Victoria Del Toro is a the daughter of Minerva and Victor Del Toro. Victor is a former Marine Special Ops commander who made his fortune as founder of a  private security services firm. Victoria is his only child and was delivered by him to the Camp a few days before her second birthday in accordance with her mother's instructions.  The topic of her lineage only passed between Victoria and her father once during one of their brief quarterly visits, when he made clear the subject was off limits between them.  Victoria idolizes her father, though he is generally as cold to her as he is to the rest of the world.  She subconsciously mimics this attitude, while always striving to be the best of the best to gain his approval.

Her attitude toward her mother, on the other hand, is quite different.  She blames Minerva for the disdain her father often exhibits towards her and others Campers.  Victoria resents that her mother was untrue to her father and had children outside of their union.  She also blames her mother for forcing her dad to send her away to Camp, where she feels isolated and detached from the others.

Her meetings with her mother have all been cold and quick.  During the last, some five years ago, she icily told Minerva, "I've gotten along quite well without you.  Let's keep it that way, shall we?" Walking away from her mother, she'd never felt more powerful.

Most things come easily to Victoria.  Her ability to obtain new skills is uncanny.  She becomes an almost instant expert at whatever interest she pursues.  But her greatest strength is her ability to think strategically and predict the actions of others.  She is rarely surprised and incredibly cunning.  She has no close friends, and prefers to keep it that way.

Name Victoria Del Toro
God or Goddess Parent Minerva
Claimed or Unclaimed Claimed
Age 18
Fatal Flaw Stubbornness, Vanity
Weapon or skill Fencing and Tae Kwon Do
Physical Description Long, dark hair, flawless complexion, 5'7, 125lbs.  She is always impeccably groomed and attired.
Future Goals She plans to work at her father's private security agency
Fears Feeling vulnerable or being unprepared, disappointing her father
Likes Finding out what makes people tick and pushing their buttons, Visiting her father and telling him about her many accomplishments
Dislikes Repeating herself and wasting her time.

Before I post a character, as a daughter of Apollo's, do you have the room for another; as it was stated a balance is what you wish to maintain. Watched Percy Jackson a few times over...liked it myself.

Thank you both for showing an interest.

Rhoswen - we do have room for another child of Apollo but my concern here is the ratio we are now falling into. We have decidedly a lot more females than males.
Would you consider rping a male character?

We do have some of our female gamers already rping as pretty excellent male demi-gods ;)

Miyu -- my advice would be to read through the powers that are listed above for the major gods children - If any of those appeal to you then choose that god. If however none do then google one of the minor gods listed to see if one of those is to your liking.
any of the minor gods go through myself and Aiden for the list of abilities, so make sure to pm us both here.
Again, would rping as a male character be of interest to you?

Please also note we are looking for claimed and established campers - that means your character has been at camp since the age of 2.
Our game is loosely based on the Roman version of the Rick Riordan books so perhaps if you haven't read them as yet, the wiki would come in useful -->WIKI

or alternatively pm myself and Aiden ;)

Venus is very doable ;)
we do have a space there
Again are you willing to have a male character?
We do allow two characters per person so once settled into the game you can easily create a female character. As yet we have no male offspring of Venus - so that would be very interesting indeed ;)

the thing is I would know what model to look for in a female, however in a male I would have no idea what model to use since my interest don't swing that way X-x

Is finding a face for your character the only issue?
Because we can easily help you find a wickedly hot Venus type guy for your character image but if you are genuinely not comfortable playing a male, please just let me know.
I'll bring it up with the other GM and see if the imbalance is not too drastic as yet >.<

actually Miyu -- scratch that
create yourself a female ;)
if your character is gay then great, we have a girl  at the camp who is bisexual but highly more interested in girls - so it could work out nicely

Name: Brian Johnson
God or Goddess Parent: Venus
Claimed or Unclaimed: Claimed
Age: 20
Any Background Info:
He was born in Boston, son to the goddess of beauty and sex and a mortal man. Ever since he was little he was the pride and joy of her mother as one of the few sons coming from her body. He inherited her mothers beauty and her father’s pride which made a lethal combination to any woman that presented herself to him. looking good Miyu - the only thing would need editing is that as a claimed established member of the camp, he would have been dropped off at the age of two to be raised by Lupa. ( a goddess in the form of a wolf - if he was weak she would eat him ;) )

There is also no student leader as yet for the Venus cabin so if you would like Brian to be that, you could also edit that in.

I can play a male role as a son to Apollo. Now an image is going to take a bit and I would like to reserve a female character later when ratios are better. But if you need another character filled, I am willing to help along those lines as well. If in a few days, I have not found the image I like; I will take you up on that challenge to help with the search.  ;)
