Pathfinder: Altia Curse
« on: June 15, 2011, 11:22:46 PM »
“The word is at the brink of extinction, the end is near. Those few who survive will face the wrath of the Legions. The end will come soon, knights will arise and their will is going to be tested. Famine, Death, Agony, Hopelessness will plague the world, and then when the will of the people is almost at the end, the knights will arrive. The knights will be tested and tainted however it would be up to them on to what the fate of this world is, will they be the saviors? Or will they be the knights of death”.

The legend was known all across the lands, however everybody just shrugged it off as another mere tale from a old hag that lived in a hut somewhere. What they did not knew was that the prophecy was slowly starting to become reality, a man was slowly forming a army containing everything that he could control. He is slowly making his move to make the world his and kill everybody who gets in his way, either join or die that was the only option. The human emotions works wonders for most people, a simple feeling like joy could make a person do harsh decisions and he was using that to his advantage. Slowly but surely he was making his way, doing whatever he wanted and gaining allies along the way.

Times are changing, people are becoming more and more united. The unknowing threat is rising up and the time where warriors and mages go on different quests in order to gain more fame and glory. Others just decide to rest on their houses or do some business. Indeed it was a time of peace across the region and everybody was happy about it except one man.

OOC:
This will be a pathfinder adventure. I ask all of you to be a little bit patient with me since I don’t have a lot of experience with this game but I will try my best. This rp will be heavily based on plot, however sex will happen and non consent will be a fact in this adventure. If you don’t like NC but still want to join just let me know via a pm and we can make some sort of arrangement for it. Here is some basic info you will need for this adventure
Stats: 4 d 6 minus the dice with the less number
Level 6 starting.
I will throw each and every one of you a backup story to put you in the place I want you to be. You can either form groups of two for this backup story (your characters must know each other) or do it apart. At the end of it all of you will be joined by a event.
I want all of you to put real life pictures or fantasy pictures. I don’t believe in anime pictures to represented in a fantasy adventure
I accept any race and will accept the prestige classes as well.
I WANT ALL OF YOU TO PUT AT LEAST TWO FLAWS. Things that make your character unique, this will not add points however it will bring more diversity to your character. It’s she afraid of the dark? Does she have a addiction? Is she blind?

I have a fun idea for a human fighter/rogue. She'd be a trickster rather than a traping type, would go straight rogue most likely if you let the alternate swashbuckler class features be used.

I believe he meant the former, Altair.  So if using the Dice Roller, just adjust it to Keep 3.

substract the lower, so for example

you drop the 3 and the result is 15

The rule I'm familiar with is that in order to be considered playable, a character must have at least 1 stat that is 15 or higher and a total positive modifier of 1.

A rule I'm grateful for as the polyhedral deities have smacked me around plenty of times over the years.

feh ok been goin back and forth between monk and rogue for a while.  think im just gonna settle on Elven Rogue and keep it simple.  figure ill give the character a longsword 2 Kukri and a bunch of daggers and studded leather armor.  My trouble is its been ages since ive played DnD based systems much less made a low-mid level character.  As such i find my self struggling a bit on the magic aspects for the gear.  If anyone has any helpfull sugguestions it would be appreciated.

Well, a higher AC is always useful!  For that you have Bracers of Armor or Rings of Protection (for a deflect bonus to AC).

feh cant beleive i forgot about the mitheral...  suppose if i wanna maximize my AC i should go for mitheral breast plate,  that still counts as light armor right?  dunno the rules in pathfinder for it.  Though may go Mitheral chain shirt.  depends on the AC penalty i think.

Offline Shihong

Re: Pathfinder: Altia Curse
« Reply #35 on: June 19, 2011, 08:23:23 PM »
I don't think that Mithral lowers the actual armor category in Pathfinder, it just lowers the AC penalty and halves the weight of the armor.

Online Isengrad

Re: Pathfinder: Altia Curse
« Reply #36 on: June 19, 2011, 08:34:50 PM »
armors made out of Mithril are treated as one category lower. ( so heavy is treated as medium, and medium as light) this is provided that the armor in question is primarily made out of metal

Offline Shihong

Re: Pathfinder: Altia Curse
« Reply #37 on: June 19, 2011, 08:37:13 PM »
Quote
Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations. Heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light. This decrease does not apply to proficiency in wearing the armor. A character wearing mithral full plate must be proficient in wearing heavy armor to avoid adding the armor's check penalty to all his attack rolls and skill checks that involve moving.

For clarification.

You may in fact have a cleric, though so long as someone has a Wand of Cure Light Wounds there really isn't any need for a dedicated healer.  The idea is good in theory, but when you end up being a glorified medpack you find that you're far less useful to the group than you might expect.

true but ide rather have some one with the ability than no one.  Played a few games like that, it was fun but the DM had to compensate by allowing the use of healing herbs and what not instead so we could heal up even just a bit after a fight.
