Hmmm, favoured soul could be good in such setting I think. Which call himself a 'devotee of fire' and pick feat which allows once per day cast domain spells (I recall there is such feat). But then again turn undead nowadays haves so many uses besides turning/rebuke undead via feats it would be hard pass cleric.

I personally prefer not to dabble too much into option books for settings, as the options are aimed at an average fantasy world, and usually break the flavor of the setting. I mean, what's the point in playing a different setting, if you bend everything to be available in that setting. Completely beats the point and the flavor.

There are exceptions of course, like the Psychic Rogue from the Mind's Eye (WotC web enhancement to (Expanded) Psionic Handbook) would just fit the setting perfectly, moreso than the regular D&D setting. But those are exceptions, not the norm. There's a decent list of varied classes within the Artas manual, so I really don't see the need to whine for something else.

Indeed, (though isn't it the Athas manual?)

So, bearing in mind the theme here, who'se playing a (male) slaver, and who a (female) loyal slave?

I was thinking something like Rogue/Gladiator. Human, possibly Mul. Noble girl, come street rat, come gladiator, come slave.

By the way, I like the concept of the run away noble girl getting enslaved and becoming a gladiator, but a Mul wouldn't be a noble.  Muls normally only happen when a dwarves and humans are bread together explicitly to be slaves.  I suppose a rich merchant or templar might dally with a dwarf slave, but a free dwarf doesn't seem very likely to me right off the bat.

Athas, yes, my mistake.

IIRC (though I haven't looked into my Dark Sun manual in years, so I could be wrong here), Muls can't even be bred by natural methods and need magical/psionic interference.

My character would be a slaver. My cohort could be a slave.

I'm going with Shaper as my discipline, by the way.

Nice, shapers astral constructs are nice boost in combat :). But there are some rule referances in complete psionics, exampy only able summon ONE minion whit astral consturct (but there is PrC there which breaks the limit). So will we follow accoridng expanded handbook rules or complete psionic ones?

Anycase definently slaver here.

Yeah, you're right. I'll keep her human. I'm about half-finished with the character. Hope to get it done by tomorrow.

Essence of last post because I am not re typing the whole thing it was brilliant you should have seen it but you didn’t so you will have to believe me :P

Do we know each other or do we meet in the game, I would prefer the second even if it means slower entrance into the actual game

Hokey dory we are back

So we should be well enough, a bit light on the melee front but with the Shapers pet we should be doing well enough.

So what’s the plan do we know each other or do we start of from a point ware we are still slaves and do not know each other. I would prefer some combination ware we do not know each other simply because it can be a bit aquared with the you have bin adventuring for years line when the characters really do not know what the others will do in most situations

The still slaves or just newly free scenario might take a bit longer to get us together but it sounds all together more natural?

Well, first of, Zaer and me both play slavedrivers, so us knowing each other as a headstart makes sense.

As for the rest, the whole idea seems to me like you more or less grew to a more or less selfresponsible position over time. That would take months if not years of gametime to play out.

I was asking more along the lines of ware we start just before the characters encounter each other for what ever reason. Or if we already know each other

I didn’t mean role playing the whole background :)

I have sent Muse a character for approval. A Rogue 4, Gladiator 2 human female.

Well, looking at what I've got so far, one idea of mine for where we start is with a Templar traveling with a band of slave girls along the trade road.  The gals in the group are the slave girls, and the guys are the already formed, but small band of slavers.  And we open with a scene where they go for the Templar's goods?

Sounds ok to me storywise. But if the band consists of PC's only, then it's 2 PC's vs 2 PC's+Cohort+NPC Templar... and you want the former to win without killing?

I am fine, and as slave drivers we are meanted to capture 'goods' without harming them or killing them so for my characther becomes challenge to capture women wihtout using his sword :P. Anycase I hope Templar haves warrior retinue so I get chance to use expansion + Cleave abilities XD.

Doubles in size :Ti hi hi:

The duration might be a bit of a problem if it expires mid act, talk about catastrophic failure :P

Whit late rmanfiester levels I can increase 1 min duration to 10 min duration per ML ;). But not now I am sure of it but it at least gives advantage in grappling and pin your char XD.
