Standard Amount for lvl 6 is 13000gp

I will probably be able to knock up a character fast enough, but a description and background will probably reach you tomorrow the fastest

Perhaps a band of slavers who aren't exactly good guys, but do pride themselves on thwarting the sorcerer kings and living outside their influence?

Sounds perfect. I'll get working on a character right away.

Hmm, would love to play a Psychic Warrior, but I'm gonna check what everyone wants, and pick based after that, as I enjoy playing nearly all classes, and more often than not have a better time getting the leftover role than picking one and then discovering it ain't all that great.

And wow, that are some high ability scores, even for Athas standards! :o

Well I am playing a Wilder with high Dex, con, cha she has a couple of powers amongst them Animal Afinity and basically only 1 attack power, just for the sake of having one. So while I am standing relatively good on HP I don’t see my self as any form of tank or front line anything really

Oh yes that reminds me are we going with Magic = Psionics or with the assumption that the two are totally different?

I need to review the 3.5 darksun further, but I'm pretty sure they're difrent forces.

A psionic uses inner power, a magician draws power from the surounding land through living things, either carefuly "preserving" the land, or "raising" it as a "defiler", leaving dead plants behind.

My question was to more of a mechanic nature as in dos SR apply to Psionics and such

Can a Psionic power be dispelled by Dispel Magic and vice versa?

My answer was, "I need to read more."

When i said I would run, I had expected to do second edition, so I'm a bit behind.

Ah ok no worries

Its just that usual making Psionics different from magic mechanically leads to lots of problems, I haven’t played dark sun since a long long time and back when I did it didn’t come up.

I play human Divine Mind 5/Warmind 1, so I will be front line combatant. I have 1 power from Divine Mind list (have Conflict mantle) and that is metaphysical weapon and from warmind I taked expansion of course. I have high wisdom, charisma and rest stats are mediocore (but thanks 1lvl warmind my both str&con can be increased often by +2). Also thanks my psycic auras I greatly improve party's abilitie sin combat but outside combat I have little use.

Divine Mind in Dark Sun :o

Kind of odd as there are no deities, but maybe it works with an element. The regular domains aren't used in Dark Sun, though, so that brings the question if the mantle domains are...

So we have a Wilder and a Divine Mind. Given that they're both melee/manifester hybrids, I'll forgo the Psychic Warrior. There's still a lot to cover, so I'll just wait for Tom and perhaps Brandon to tell what kind of characters they'll be playing.

I was thinking something like Rogue/Gladiator. Human, possibly Mul. Noble girl, come street rat, come gladiator, come slave.

That would leave us with a Divinist and perhaps a full Psion.

Muse, what are your looks on either the Leadership feat or the Thrallherd Prestige Class to generate a cohort/thrall for divine support?

I'm fine with cohorts, but not followers.

Also note that my char does not pay attention to elements but to his tribal warrior code which he takes 'religious seriousness'. Divine Mind it is not neccesary related to specific deity or elements (like whit cleric) but it can be also connected to religious philosophy (like a monk). My Divine mind is alot like 'ardent' core class in mind set wise.

I just hope this does not go over the Dark Sun setting 'fluff rules' and if it does I could try find other method to be divine mind but background is kinda set in.

The cohort would be the reason for me to do it. I'm not interested in the followers. We don't want to be too big of a band.

Do you want to stat out the cohort (Probably 4th level, as I prefer not to spend a manifester level on going Thrallherd, though maybe it befits the setting more), or want me to? In the latter case, what are the rules on stats and gear?

Zaer> In regular D&D divine casters can get the energy for their spells from all kinds of sources, so they don't have to worship a priest. In Dark Sun, the Elements and Subelements are the only ways for Cleric to receive their divine powers (Druids get theirs from the fauna and Templars get it from Sorceror-Kings), but since in your case it's psionic and not divine magic it might work.

Well I don’t think we will have much of a problem with encounters, I have Charm Psionic witch is probably one of the strongest charm spells especially in a 1st round use situation or out of combat

And a charmed person can easily be used as an emergency party member, having high cha and bluff helps

Say so we have anybody with the power to heal wounds?

Far Eyes, is your character inclining towards telepathic powers? Cuz I was thinking on becoming a Telepath, but I could easily steer into another direction.

I'll take Leadership or Thrallherd for a Cohort with healing powers, unless someone else wants to join and likes playing a Divinist.

Well I am a wielder who is prty deep into the mind based edge

Charm, Psionic, Mindlink, Telepathic Projection, Animal Affinity, Crystal Storm [CP: 81], Time Hop are my powers. Using up 2 feats

Hmm, I'll have a good look to see which specialization to master then. Haven't done that in a while.

It also means I'll defenitely go for Leadership, as the Thrallherd requires Telepathy.

I contemplated about going into Thrallherd but I have always shied away from caster prcs that don’t give full development

But yes some healing would be nice

A suggestion if you want a real heal exclusive Cohort, make a Healer out of Miniature Handbook. They get a couple of nifty features and can really heal but for that it is prty much almost all they can do

They are indeed nice from a full heal support perspective, but clerics have more options than just heal. Also, I don't really think the Healer class befits the setting.

Indeed.

The Clerics worship elemental ideals rather than gods, and good alingments are scarce to say the least, unicorns scarcer.
