My tactic for ID vs Evolution has always been to hit "Science vs Non-Science vs Pseudo-Science" really hard in the beginning of the class. For a while my classes were notorious for not only my refusal to pussy foot around the issue but to explain in the first 5 minutes of the school year exactly why ID is not a scientific topic, let alone a valid theory, and use that as a stepping board to a month long "What Is Science?" over-topic for the class.
As a result, my classes had the highest drop-out rate of that community college- but it also had the highest student evaluation scores.
