Kitarla

Hello! My name is Kitarla and I'm here on my never ending quest for mature roleplays. What makes a mature roleplay, you might ask? Is it the smut? The violence? The gore? To me it's technically all of them, but most importantly it's a level head to deal with whatever our story may bring to light. If the plot brings us smut, I'll write it. If the plot brings us violence I'll write that too. If it brings a castle crumbling at our feet or angels soaring overhead or our feet on the deck of a pirate ship you bet your ass I'm writing it.

You can find a really in-depth overview of the kind of writer I am in my O/O thread.

Please PM me if you're interested! I also love hearing your plots, so if you think we'd be a good match for something you have been craving, just let me know!

Below are some plot concepts and pairings that I've come up with.

MASSIVE CRAVING
Opposite a Goddess
The god and the goddess are a pair as old as time. They have been protecting the land for as long as anyone can remember. The goddess is regarded as kind and forgiving. She brings fertility to the land, brings about good and restores health. The god is seen as more vengeful, requiring sacrifice for his intercession. What the people don’t know is that the god collects energy for the goddess in the form of these sacrifices or ill-received acts. The goddess then stores up the energy so when the people call for her help, she is able to give it. The two of them understand their relationship, but the god is slowly growing irritated that he is taking the fall while the goddess has all the glory, but he has no means to provide the blessings that she can.

Every so often they are reborn in the body of a human. Both the god and the goddess always appear together. During these times, the mortal people can ask for the god and goddess to intercede for them directly. It is usually both the best of times; as the goddess can directly offer blessings, and the worst; as the god hand picks his sacrifices.

The god can have powers of his own, like turning the tide during war or something else. This idea can be flexible to suit whatever you have in mind, but this is the base premise I had in mind. The method of energy trading between the god and the goddess can also be discussed.

The only thing that I really want for the goddess is for people to regard her as pure. When she is among the people, all of her body and face is covered so she’s not exposed to the “vile mortals”. Only her attendants at the temple can remove the coverings, and only the god can see her whole being. I figure their temple has rings. The outermost ring is where the worshipers come with offerings and where shrines may be. The middle ring is for the attendants and religious leaders. Then the innermost ring is the quarters for the god and goddess themselves.

Island in the Clouds
The Great War left the people of their kingdom stranded on a tethered island in the clouds…

After The Great War ravaged the land, the kingdom of Steanate was banished from the realm. As instigators of the war, all the other kingdoms of the land sent their best mages to literally float their kingdom up above the clouds. Out of sight, out of mind… or so they thought.

All this time, the kingdom was able to be relatively self sufficient. Still left with farm land and live stock, they were able to continue their lives high up in the clouds. And though they were tethered to the kingdom of Wradian, the leading force against them in the war, they were mostly left to their own devices. Now guided by the child of the king that started the war, Steanate plans on taking back their land and their place in the real… literally.

A Sweet Visage
A noble woman looks to catch the eye of the prince, but she can’t do so on her own. After a summer away from the castle, she returns with an unbelievable transformation. A proverbial ugly duckling turned swan, the prince can’t look away. But soon a dark stranger comes to request an audience with the now king and queen… and she recognized him as the one who changed her face those summers ago.

Alt: The face shaper comes back with her as a staff member/attendant and helps her keep her face. Perhaps the spell needs to be done every so often? Helping her keep up appearances might not be the only motivation he has…

All that Glitters is not Gold
The faith of the kingdom has always come first. The first born to the king and queen devotes their life to their gods, not to their people. Paladins invoke great magic, divine intervention on the battlefield, protecting the kingdom from What Lies Beyond.

But a newcomer seems to be the best of them all; devout, practised in their prayers, heeding every law, following every rule. Best of all, they have the rarest gift from the gods… healing magic. Without a doubt they would make the best spouse for the heir, but they just seem too good to be true. Are they really all they seem?

Soul Fragments
When something tragic happens, it’s often said we lose a piece of ourselves. We may not realize it, as a piece of us falls behind, left and forgotten in a sea of grief and sadness. But the soul mages? They notice it. Collecting these fragments has unlocked a great and terrible power. Collect enough pieces of a soul and you can make your own. Artificial, sure, but a soul holds an unbelievable power. The user can release a soul in place of their own to cheat death. They can imbue life into an object or body with a soul. And they can sacrifice that soul in dark rituals, calling upon forces and powers that have yet to traverse the realm.

As the soul mages begin to rise up, and their power begins twisting towards darkness, a small group realize that these fragments can also be used to heal. They can give someone a new lease on life, heal broken hearts and even provide new life to areas of pestilence and plague. These two sides disagree about how to use the soul fragments, and a schism is just beginning between them.

Until a great disaster hits the realm. A tsunami rises up along the southern coast, destroying villages, towns, cities and lives. Amid all the death and suffering comes a collection of soul fragments unlike any other. Who will get there first? And what will they be used for?

Tethered
In this world, magic is not for just one person to wield alone. Here there is a Source; someone who the magic flows from, and a Manipulator; someone who can use the magic in a tangible way. Bonds between Sources and Manipulators are strong, and can have secondary benefits between the two, such as telepathic communication or always sensing the other’s presence the more they practise together. At the beginning the Source and Manipulator must be very close, but the range can increase the more they work together.

There is one drawback, however. Manipulators can feel no pain. Rather, all their pain is transferred to their Source. If a Manipulator is stabbed in battle, the wound will appear on the Source and begin to limit how much magic the Source can send the Manipulator. In order to kill a Manipulator, one must kill their Source, either by hurting the Source directly or killing them by administering enough damage to the Manipulator.

Twelve O'clock/For Whom the Bell Tolls
The grand clock in the town square hasn’t been working for years. Though stagnant, the clock tower looms in seemingly perfect condition. The clock faces are bright and easy to see though, the iron hands paused at 12 o’clock. No one remembers a time when the clock used to work. . .

No one but the oldest man in town, who has a vague recollection of a time when that clock did work. But he was a child then and his experiences are vague. No one pays it any mind, and for some reason no one has tried to get it started again.

Then, one day, at one o’clock in the morning, a great bell tolls. Then again at 2 o’clock, and 3, and so on all through the night. Restless, the townspeople meet in the square to try to figure out what happened, when it’s discovered that 28 people died that night. . . one for every toll of the bell. What dark magic is fueling this clock and how do they stop it? -- Could also be that 12 people die at midnight every night if we don’t think the population could sustain so many deaths.

UNAVAILABLE
The Benevolent Beast
There has always been a myth of a great and terrible power that exists beyond the kingdom walls. Some call it a witch, some a beast, others still think it must be something beyond this world, but everyone agrees that it bears ill intent. The people are safe as long as they stay in their towns, on their roads and don’t go out at night alone. Oh, and never, ever get too close to the edge of the forest. That’s where it dwells, watching, waiting.

However, one day a man ends up stumbling off the road and into the edge of the forest after being attacked by highwaymen. He is suddenly surrounded by dark, thick wood and the eerie realization he is no longer alone. A rustling among the leaves alerts him to the presence of another, and as his head whips around, he sees… a woman?

The general idea for this one is that the myths have been upheld by the kingdoms to help keep the people under control by fear, and to bolster their military under the guise of protecting the people from this “beast”. The woman of the forest, however, is more of a neutral party. She protects her home and the creatures within, and just wishes to reclaim the lands that the kingdoms continually take as they expand.
