This was a little too large to put in my regular request thread, so I opted to make a new thread for it!

Anyways, hello, I am a Storyteller looking to run a 1x1 system game of Vampire: The Masquerade for a player! The catch? The player must play a vampire from Clan Nosferatu. They are my favorite clan, and I’ve always wanted to run a game for someone playing one. What edition would this game use? The 20th anniversary edition that Clan be purchased here.

Why a Nosferatu, you might be asking, particularly if another Clan is your favorite? Well...I have a thing for monsters, as many of you might know from a favorite Finders & Seekers thread of mine. In addition, I have an addiction to stories that have tragedy and angst in them, and no Clan embodies that better to me than Clan Nosferatu. If you don’t like horror and personal sorrow for your characters, I might not be the right storyteller for you! So I’m sorry if you craved playing a different Clan, but...this is what I want right now.

I have no preference for the gender of your Nosferatu character; I am perfectly fine with male, female, trans, etc. Nosferatu. But a non-negotiable element of this story is that if you want me to be a Storyteller for a 1x1 game for you, you must play a Nosferatu. I am LGBT+ friendly with my content, so if your character were to find romance or become entangled, I can write whatever floats your boat. I would probably prefer to put this in the Extreme Solos section to be on the safe side, though I’m open to discussion for other classifications potentially. Dice rolling will be a requirement for this game as well; that's a huge element of system gaming for me, and Elliquiy does have a dice roller!

I have no set posting length or posting frequency, and I don’t ask such of those I write with. In addition, it’s worth noting I am a transgender man in RL; if you have a compunction about the RL gender of your writing partners for erotic content, I may not make a good storyteller for you. Please see my O/O thread (linked in the image on the left in my signature) for more information about my general preferences.

The game would be set in January of 2019; I like the idea of a more ‘modern’ feel for things. Ideally I’d like the setting to be New York City. If you’re familiar with the metaplot, I am somewhat open to using canon characters from that city, but if you aren’t familiar with the metaplot, that’s okay, we can create our own NYC! Ideally, what I want is for the 'prelude' to be played out, where your mortal character is found, taken by a Nosferatu, Embraced, and then has to deal with the shock and general awfulness that is being a new and young Nosferatu. I think the Clan is best played when you get that transition from human to monster. 

If you’re new to playing VtM, that’s completely fine. I have taught several people how to play before and don’t mind doing so again….provided you play a Nosferatu! And of course, VtM veterans welcome as well if they are willing to play a Nosferatu as their character! Onward! I will provide you a writing sample so you can get an idea of what I’m like as a writer and what the ‘start’ of this story might be. After that, I will provide you a character sheet template and a ‘questionnaire’--the questionnaire is just so I can figure out what sort of game you most want. :)

~ The Prelude: Writing Sample ~

Happy New Year.

It started with a light rain, and the humidity was nearly oppressive for a winter month. The city stretched on in the night, just a series of neon and gray slate and brick and cars and lights, lights, lights. But not all that glittered was gold, and not every light was neon. No, one light came from a flashlight peeking up from the tiniest crack from a dislodged manhole cover. These covers were not light; no human had a chance of lifting one.

It was not a human lifting the current one. The flashlight clicked off; the holder was satisfied with whatever they’d seen.

After a few moments, something came out of the sewer, but from a distance, it would only have looked like a black silhouette. Up close it should not have been contemplated or looked upon at all. Effortlessly, the creature pushed the cover back in place after it had risen from the wretched subterranean mire that it called home.

Just as quickly, with only the faintest movement, it...vanished.

As if it had never been there at all.

It liked to linger on the outskirts of warm places like coffee shops and late-night diners. It didn’t linger for the actual physical warmth—no, it lingered because of a different warmth. The sort of warmth that came from a place meant to ask you to come in, to sit down, to stay a little while and rest at a table or counter, where the price of a cup of coffee was paltry compared to what one got in return, which was a brash yet loving New Yorker charm mixed with just perhaps a bit of authoritative business acumen. That night, it had chosen to linger near a tea shop; it was one of the few ones that seemed to try to be open very late at night indeed, and that business gamble had paid off.

It had become one of those places ‘strange’ people congregated at. The fact the tea shop had diversified out into a cyber cafe of sorts had also contributed to its relative niche success.

It was there for the free computers, there for the warmth, and it was there for one other thing.

That person. That one mortal. They came here sometimes, and the monster that had used the strength of its blood to cloak itself in a human mask had come here because with each passing night, it grew more convinced that this was the one.

This was the right person to Embrace. They had never spoken to them before, knowing that friendship made the process all the more painful and full of betrayal, but they’d watched them for so long that this person felt like family. The monster had laughed when they found new ridiculous jokes on their phone to itself, held back crimson blood tears when that mortal had cried for the loss of a beloved family member, grown upset when some lover had jilted the poor thing, and at this point, that human’s life had become the monster’s obsession and hobby.

Tonight it intended to take it away and replace it with something eminently...dreadful.

For character creation: Create a neonate with no starting EXP as per the rulebook! Merits are capped at 7, Flaws are also capped at 7. ...good lord, that was a mountainous wall of text. If you made it to the end, I feel like I owe you a small trophy for putting up with all my words here. ^^;

If interested in this RP, please PM me! I suspect my desire for this one specific type of system game and specific clan within that system is a bit niche and might not have takers, but hey, one never knows if one never asks! : )
