Mechs Galore! (MxF, FxF, Any Gender Welcome)

Hello there and thank you for reading this little thread of mine. I’ll try my best to keep this short and sweet. What I’m looking for is a creative partner to write a story about love in the middle of a war, said war being one of our creation centered around mechs. In my personal experience I’m more of a fan of fairly realistic and gritty “walking tanks” as opposed to super robots. More Steel Battalion and Titanfall, less Armored Core and Gundam, if that helps.

My On’s and Off’s are linked in my signature below. I’m open to both human and furry characters, just run your ideas by me and we’ll see how it goes. I have a pair of prompts to get the creative juices flowing.

1. When the Dust Settles. Our characters are pilots for opposing factions who find each other alone after a bloody firefight on one of the far frontier colonies of Earth. Thinking the other will be easy pickings, they scarcely warm their weapons back up when a third party enters the fray. Could be a third faction, could be alien scouting for an invasion. In any case, the unlikely pair teams up to take out this new threat. But who will they go to with this information? Can they convince their leaders to put aside old hatreds for the sake of humanity as a whole? And...what if these foes find comfort in each other as they fight side by side?

2. Ghost in the Machine. MC was a promising mech pilot up until the day he/she was killed in action while field-testing a new neural interface. YC is set to inherit MC’s freshly repaired mech sometime later. Yet as he/she goes on mission after mission, something seems off about the mech’s onboard AI. It seems too emotional at times. Too...human. And the dreams they’ve been having ever since they started using the neural interface are far too vivid, and feel more like memories than dreams.

Long story short, the trauma of MC’s death caused some form of their consciousness to take over the mech’s AI. It could be their actual ghost or merely a copy of the dead person’s personality struggling to come to terms with its new existence. Either way, they end up making a great team on the battlefield. The problem is, this AI can feel now. And it wants revenge on the bastards that killed them. Each time YC plugs into that same neural interface, the AI is able to reach into their mind and show them more memories, and they each feel the other’s emotions while connected. If this ghost can feel hatred, surely it can also feel love, especially for the pilot who can literally read its mind.
