Tags are a miserable way to handle O/Os. I have something better in mind. I might be able to pull old keywords, at least for your 'default' character.

Yes. Topic ids won't change so all links will remain valid.

Is the something else similar to the matrix that use to be present? It was much easier to search, though I was really happy there was still a way to add text to the side that could provide more detail.

A mix of the two would be excellent. I have come across several people who have partial interest in some topics. I write with someone who is fine with all manner of incest EXCEPT mother/son pairings. I have read several ons and offs of writers who are okay with fantastical creature bestiality, like a dragon or centaur, but not common animal bestiality, like a dog or horse. Of course, it then boils down to what should and should not be listed as possible options for searching vs what is listed as extra text.
