That sounds good, put me on the waiting list. I had some fun ideas in mind for a Steiner mech pilot who catches the wrong end of political drama and has to make a run for the periphery. If you get space I'll join you.  ;D

Being assigned something kind of shitty kind of fits the character story for Noele, but will have a look at the options.

Are we limited to Light battle mechs to start with ?

If so I think I'd go with the RVN-3L Raven but otherwise I like the Shadow Hawk a lot (staying away from heavy or assault mechs for now)

We're limited to light mechs, also the Raven doesn't exist yet, it gets made in 3048.

Edit: I am incorrect in 3024 the RVN-1X exists, which is a prototype, the 3l won't be around for a very long time though.

Sarna is an excellent resource, this would be a good page to start on, but you can also search for a grand list of light mechs and check for the years on ones you like.

Yeah, I can definitely hand out vehicles if people don't know what to take.

I ran through my math again and found it was off, but not in the exact ways others found.  I showed more of the numbers at the bottom as well, ending up at 4822 XP. 

One thing I wanted to double check.  She's got Glass Jaw at -100.  If I buy Toughness for 300, that -100 just goes away, right?  Since they're opposed traits?  It doesn't need to be bought down to 0 before getting Toughness?

If I drop the Quick Draw skill, I'll have 200 points to play with, or 300 to get Toughness.  Could get Attractive, though she has no skills that work with it! :)  I'd better find a name and pic and finish up fast though! :)

During the optimization phase, you're going to have to decide if you go full out with Glass Jaw or spend xp to get rid of it. So you should only ever be at 0 or -300 with Glass Jaw after optimization. If you have Glass Jaw at -300 and you get Toughness for 300 then they cancel each other out and you have neither. At that point, you need to buy Toughness again if you want it.

That is correct. If you end up with -50 in a bunch of traits before optimization you could get a lot of extra xp by taking those negative traits before you start counting your 500 worth of negative traits.
