Welcome Crensler

Hero Name: Solaris

Legal Name: Solana Madrugada

Origin of Powers: Terrigenesis

Sex: Female

Age: 18

Height: 5’8

Weight: 125lb

Sexuality: Still working that out

Description (Appearance): Before her exposure to the Terrigen Mists, Solana had milky white skin and bright red hair.  Afterwards her hair was bleached of all color and her skin became so dark of a black that it almost seems to absorb the light.  Her eyes, meanwhile, have no distinctive signs of pupils or irises, and are instead a solid yellow-orange, glowing like twin points of sunlight set into her face.

Powers: Heliokineticist - After her exposure to the Terrigen Mists, Solana gained the ability to manipulate and project the power of the sun itself.  This involves a biological process of absorbing solar radiation, similar in a way to photosynthesis.  With sufficient levels of solar energy stored in her body, Solana can even go for long periods of time without the need to eat or drink.  This also means that without the minimum levels of said energy, Solana can’t use any of her abilities.  So, once a week, she needs to spend at least an hour in direct sunlight, longer if she has expended enough energy.  Some of the ways she’s discovered to use said energy so far can be found listed below.

Solar Energy Projection - The simplest, and therefore the first, way that Solana discovered to use her abilities was to project it from her body.  Her hands and eyes allow her better control over the level of energy she projects, often in the form of beams, but she is also capable of omnidirectional bursts of power from her whole body.  The latter tends to consume much more energy, but she’s still learning.  Who knows what else she can do with enough training and experience?

Solar Flight - By wrapping herself in a corona of solar energy, Solana is able to counter the effects of gravity on her body and propel herself through the air.  This involves coupling the negation with projecting energy through her hands and feet in order to propel and steer herself along, though she has yet to fully master this particular ability.  Practice makes perfect, after all.

Solar Energy Shield - The same corona that allows Solana to slip the bonds of gravity also serves as a protective shield, allowing her to travel at speeds faster than her body could normally tolerate.  As a side effect, it can also help to protect against kinetic and energy attacks, so… bonus!

Ionization - Solana can use her stored solar energy to ionize various atoms and molecules that make up the Earth’s atmosphere, allowing her to generate electricity or plasma.  She’s still not very good at it, but she’s getting better every day.

Radiation Generation - One ability that Solana doesn’t like to use is how she is to directly use the radiation she absorbs in different ways.  Why?  Because radiation tends to cause cancer, and the fact it can be very destructive if not properly controlled doesn’t help.  Still, if she doesn’t learn to control it, despite her misgivings, things could go rather… poorly should she accidentally tap into this aspect of her powers.

Light Generation - Another basic aspect of her powers, Solana can act as a living flashlight should she so choose.  Not very exciting, but it’s useful more often than not.

Solar Empowerment - A side effect of the absorption process grants Solana heightened physical abilities while in direct sunlight.  She’s stronger, faster, tougher, and able to heal faster while absorbing solar radiation, but only when this is the case.

Inhuman Metabolism - Like others of her species, Solana possesses certain physical skills superior to those of human athletes. Her Inhuman metabolism affords her slightly greater reaction time, endurance, and speed than even the human race's most perfect physical specimen, Captain America.  Her strength isn’t quite up to the same standard, but it’s still pretty damn impressive for a woman of her weight and height, allowing her to bench press up to 400 pounds.

Special Skills and Other Abilities: Piloting (Basic) - Solana has a basic understanding of how to pilot various vessels of Attilan origin.  She’s also started training in the use of Earth-based vessels, but she’s still learning the basics at the moment.

Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced) - Due to her upbringing, Solana has received advanced training in both armed and unarmed combat through use of the art developed by Attilan’s military.  Swords are the melee weapon of choice for this style, and Solana is quite proficient with them as a result.

Equipment: Solar Bodysuit - The suit Solana wears was designed to aid her absorption of solar radiation based on the tech behind solar panels.  It also serves as body armor, made up of a complex weave of carbon nanotubes interlaced with the photovoltaic cells that allow her to absorb solar radiation at a faster rate.  It is also, by necessity, highly resistant to heat.

History: Born to a military family with a long history of loyal service to the Attilan royal family, Solana was the third in her family to be exposed to the Terrigen Mists in an attempt to make her a more effective soldier.  It had a drastic effect on her physiology, changing her skin, hair, and eyes, as it adapted her body to absorb solar radiation.  Her parents were happy that their daughter developed such useful abilities, but Solana was rather resentful, as she hadn't wished to become a soldier, unlike her siblings.  She had always wanted to be an artist, specifically a songstress, but her parents frowned on such "nonsense", as they put it.  So, seeing no other option, she stole a small shuttle and fled to Earth.  The trip was... rough, to say the least, but any landing you can walk away from, right?  Hopefully the Attilan government won't be too upset that she stole a military vessel, but, well, what other choice was there at the time?  It's not like she could have sat down with her stubborn parents and talked it out, not with how pigheaded the two of them were.  So, obviously her only recourse had been to steal a military spacecraft, flee to Earth, and crash land in the continental United States.  Because that's the responsible thing to do.  Right...

Haha I'm expecting some starfire levels of skin-exposure... for solar absorption purposes, of course! Science!

On a more serious note, it would actually work better the more skin it covered xD

When you ask about on's and off's are you asking me personally as a writer or from the character's point of view?

TamaRose

Hero Name: X-23, Lady Wolverine

Legal Name: Laura Kinney

Origin of Powers: Mutant

Age: 20

Sexuality: Pansexual

Description (Appearance):

Powers:

Superhumanly Acute Senses: X-23 possesses superhumanly acute senses that are comparable to those of certain animals. She is capable of seeing at much greater distances — and with perfect clarity — than an ordinary human, and her visual acuity is so refined she is able to see a single Sentinite with her naked eye. She retains this same level of clarity in near-total darkness. Her sense of hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, allowing her to hear sounds that ordinary humans can't and to hear sounds that ordinary humans can, but at much greater distances. X-23 is able to use her highly developed sense of smell to track targets by scent with an impressive degree of success, even afterward. She was even able to detect the victim of killing had high cholesterol by scent alone.

Bone Claws: X-23's skeleton includes two retractable bone claws in each arm and one in each foot that she can extend and retract at will. These claws are housed beneath the skin and muscle. Unsheathing them causes her skin to tear and bleed, but the wounds are quickly dealt with by her healing factor. X-23 can unsheathe any number of these claws at once, although she must keep her wrists and/or feet straight at the moment the claws emerge. The claws are naturally sharp and tougher than normal human bone, allowing X-23 to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Like Wolverine, X-23's primary mutant power is an accelerated healing factor that enables her to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. She is capable of fully healing injuries resulting in massive tissue damage and blood loss such as multiple bullet wounds, slash wounds, and puncture wounds within a matter of minutes. Her healing factor is developed to such a degree, she is capable of reattaching severed limbs, such as a hand. She has also proven capable of regrowing an entire arm on her own (Elixir was incapacitated at the time). Her healing factor may fluctuate with her psychological state as battle wounds tend to heal very quickly, but her self-inflicted cuts appear to remain visible for some time.

Foreign Chemical Immunity: X-23's natural healing also affords her the virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs. She can be affected by some drugs, such as tranquilizers if she is exposed to a massive dose.

Disease Immunity: Due to her highly efficient immune system, X-23 is immune to all Earthly diseases and infections.

Longevity: Presumably, because X-23 is a clone of the mutant Wolverine, her healing factor will also provide her with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process.

Superhuman Stamina: X-23's muscles produce considerably fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity than the muscles of an ordinary human. She can exert herself at peak capacity for about 24 hours before fatigue begins to impair her.

Superhuman Agility: X-23's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete

Superhuman Reflexes: X-23's reflexes are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. In at least one case she reacts to and slices in half with her claws a bullet fired at her face from nearly point-blank range.

Superhuman Durability: She was capable of fighting the Hulk without sustaining any severe injuries and surviving energy blasts from Nimrod (even if she required healing and nearly died).

Special Skills and Background Perks:

Expert Covert Ops Training: Raised in captivity, due to her extensive training as a top-secret operative, X-23 has been trained to become a living weapon. She is highly trained in the use of long-range weapons and explosives and is an expert in assassination techniques

Expert Tracker: Due to her enhanced sense of smell, Laura is a dangerous tracker and has memorized many different scents

Master Martial Artist: She is a master in hand to hand combatant, with intensive training in numerous armed and unarmed martial arts techniques during her time in the facility.

Master Acrobat: She is an Olympic class athlete, gymnast, acrobat, and aerialist capable of numerous complex maneuvers and feats.

Multilingual: Laura can speak fluent English, French, and Japanese. She says she is fluent in many other languages and has been shown speaking Russian.

Gifted Intellect: She possesses the ability to quickly process multiple information streams (e.g., threat assessment) and rapidly responds to changing tactical situations, being able to produce precise odds in different situations. Additionally, Laura has been stated to have a photographic memory.

Weaknesses:

Powerful Energy Blasts: Injuries such as being hit with blasts of energy from Nimrod that caused her to age can't be healed, if she had been hit with it again she most likely would have died.

Adamantium Claws: Laura's claws have been coated with the nigh-indestructible metal Adamantium. As a result, her claws are virtually unbreakable and are capable of cutting almost any substance, with the exception of Adamantium itself and Captain America's shield. Her ability to slice completely through a substance depends upon the amount of force she can exert and the thickness of the substance. Also, since the bones of her hands and wrists are not laced with Adamantium, it is likely that the reverberation of her claws could conceivably break her hands with significant force. Unlike Wolverine, the presence of Adamantium in her body is not sufficient enough to interfere with her bones' normal function of generating blood corpuscles, although it is as possible that some degree of her immune system is distracted by the presence of the foreign substance. Her claws can cut through the Hulk's skin and eyes

Equipment:

Adamantium Claws, A version of Wolverine's Uniform

History: Raised in captivity, X-23 was trained to be a weapon. Kinney did her best to ensure the child retained some semblance of humanity, but her efforts appeared to be in vain. After seven years, Rice had X-23 subjected to radiation poisoning in order to accelerate the activation of her mutant gene, then forcibly extracted her claws and coated them with Adamantium. Next, Rice created a chemical compound he called "trigger scent" that sent X-23 into an involuntary berserker rage upon smelling its presence. Three years later, X-23 was sent on her first field mission to kill Presidential candidate Greg Johnson. Numerous other missions followed as X-23's services were sold to the highest bidder, and she was left emotionally stunted as a result. Rice, in an attempt to avenge his father's murder, abandoned X-23 on a particularly dangerous mission, but she survived against overwhelming odds and managed to return to the facility.

Ultimately, Rice persuaded Sutter to hand over control of the program to him, then secretly ordered X-23 to kill Sutter and his family. Later, Rice revealed to Kinney a chamber with dozens of incubation pods containing female clones before he fired her. Before fleeing the facility with X-23, Kinney gave her one last mission - destroy the pods and kill Rice. However, Rice was able to exact revenge on Kinney from beyond the grave, as he had earlier exposed her to the trigger scent, sending X-23 into a rage that caused her to kill her mother. As she lay dying, Kinney named X-23 Laura.

X-23 surfaced in New York two years later and was found living on the streets by a pimp named Zebra Daddy, who took her in and employed her as a prostitute. During her time as a prostitute, X-23 seemed to suffer from a self-mutilating disorder. She superficially cut herself with her own claws whenever she was in a threatening situation. She also seemed to suffer some personality issues which left her mostly mute and unable to free herself from the grip of Zebra Daddy. X-23 started to come to her senses after she met Kiden Nixon, a young mutant with the ability to freeze time when in danger, and together with Kiden's teacher, they rescued another young mutant, the feral Catiana, from an angry mob. Zebra Daddy tracked X-23 down, but with the aid of her newfound friends and the mutant named Felon, Zebra Daddy's thugs were defeated. X-23 then killed him to save the lives of her friends. X-23 later took a job at the mutant-themed Wannabee's nightclub in the Mutant Town district of New York. It was there that she saved the life of the daughter of mob boss Don Parisi from a gang of thugs, whom she killed. The deaths inadvertently implicated Wolverine, prompting his teammates in the X-Men to investigate. X-23 instinctually attacked Wolverine on sight, but he was eventually able to calm her down, and she led the X-Men to Parisi's daughter. After aiding the X-Men against Parisi's super-strong mutant enforcer Geech, X-23 fled the scene. She later returned to help the X-Men save victims of a car accident, after which she was enrolled at the X-Men's Xavier Institute.
