The statue was copyrighted actually hence the lawsuit. It wasn't a generic image but a very specific statue.

I think it's the height of ignorance to deem pursuance of our copyright claim here as frivolous. As I stated earlier, would it be easier to understand if it were a real-world Mosque depicted as the headquarters for a terrorist cell? Would you expect, or even want, that to be laughed off? Ah I didn't catch that they said the wrong one. I just remembered the aspect of it being about the depiction of the statue being owned. I don't think many know those are two very different organizations(I'm not fond of the CoS), though since they involve using the figure of Satan it does make sense to confuse them.

I can't stand this guy. My boyfriend's father watches his segment religiously and almost everything he says is ridiculous. He one time countered an argument to support banning balloons for environmental reasons by saying that, basically, women go out and buy the newest pair of Lululemon pants and just throw them away anyways so why bother with balloons.. That rally which ended in the murder of an antifascist by a Neo Nazi by the way featured the Nationalist Socialist Movement, Richard Spencer, and the Daily Stormer to name a few. Many of which on camera chanted "Gas the [Slur for Jews], Race War Now!" while sieg heiling. Tucker defended those people.

By the way the whole thing it was allegedly about with those Confederate statues? Mostly built due to the Daughters of the Confederacy, a white supremacy group tied to the KKK that were actively rewriting history to make the Confederates more sympathetic and to support white supremacy. Most of those were built in the 1900's.

On the topic of WW1, I learnt the other day that there are a number of "ghost villages" in eastern France (especially around Verdun): places that were so completely destroyed by the ground fighting that once the war was over, it was deemed unfeasible to rebuild them. Not only had the the houses and farms been razed, but the fields around them were so packed with explosives, landmines, dead bodies, shells and poison gas that it would be useless as farmland for hundreds of years.  Some of these communities were designated "a village that died for France".

Yes. There are definitely nogo zones. Similar but different, in Italy there are areas that could never recover from the black plague and are still deserted, or with a low population. I have actually never been to Verdun, though a relative of mine is a guide for all kinds of places like that.

Honestly, I wouldn't read one single source of news and conclude that it's true anymore. It sucks, but the more you cross-check, the closer to the truth you are likely to get. Of course you can get your news just from one source alone, but never think you are getting the whole truth.

The fact that 'reputable' news sites are now starting to look like Breitbart and whatever left-leaning equivalent there is, is kinda disgusting. But that's just me whining.
