Hey! Sooo we're still here and filled with wonderful writers. Recently, I noticed that we could use a few more friendly faces to our group. People want connections! Friends, lovers, enemies! The whole nine yards. -cough- Umm but anyways I thought of a fun idea that basically permits people to write a shifter. I think it's pretty badass but I might be biased. I tend to get super involved in group games.

Celestial Companions


A celestial companion is a being that is the physical manifestation of a guardian's inner self that takes the form of an animal, native to their respective planet. Celestial companions have human level intelligence and are capable of mental speech with their respective guardian or other companions. While they are bound to their guardian, they are capable of behaving independently of the individual in which they are tied to. Although celestial companions will occasional mimic the appearance and behavior of the creature they resemble, they are not actual animals. True animals are able to distinguish them on sight. Only those chosen as guardian are able to develop a celestial companion. Likewise, when a guardian dies or is stripped of their title, their celestial companion fades away, turning into a dust like substance.

Due to extenuating circumstances, celestial companions have shown the ability to adapt in order to better aid their guardian. Companions are now in possession of three forms (native, domestic, and human).

Native form
-The only form companions had access to in their old life
-Can transform into this at will without their guardians being in their transformed state. Not often used though due to drawing too much attention. Kind of used as an 'oh shit' button.
-This form was a replication of one of their guardian's native creatures
-Capable of mental speech with their guardian/other companions

Domestic form
-Better choice for blending in on earth
-Limited to a domestic cat or dog
-Capable of mental speech with their guardian/other companions
-No access to native form's skills

Human form
-Loses access to mental communication
-Has a tendency to still display animalistic tendencies

Things to Know

-Companions can be NPCed. Writers can write their own companions.
-Companions can be PCed. Writers can permit someone else to write their companions. It is up to the writer if they will permit the person to use their current creation as inspiration or create a completely new character.

-It takes a conscious effort to change forms. They will maintain whatever form they possess in their sleep unless something prompts them to do otherwise.
-All celestial companions have a piece of jewelry that grants them the ability to shift into domestic and human form. If they lose this item, they will be forced to remain in whatever form they are currently holding.

So there it is! If you're interested, please post here or message me! Oh! Just because you're with a guardian doesn't mean you need to be romantic with them. Their relationship is completely up to you. Your guardian can be like a cat, distant but loyal, or they can be like a dog with the best friend vibe.

Oh yay! I was hoping someone would find my random idea interesting. Umm it's pretty much all there. I would think of them as shifters. I had people create those little ads so interested folk what guardians are open to having their companion written. I want one for my guy but I haven't got around to writing it yet. #lazyflower

I think it's a great way to step into the game. Your character doesn't have to be plotted romantically with the guardian. It's completely up to you and if the characters, you know, like each other. Their main purpose is to defend the earth.

- Pluto: The Plutos are tasked with what could be called the Galaxy's most important important job, the security of the Time-Space Door. They hold the key to the door that not only opens to the Milky Way but also to other planes. Their post is a lonely one as they are stationed at the Time-Space door and cannot leave their position unless expressly allowed to do so by the Empress. They possess the ability to manipulate time, space, and the underworld.


- Mercury: The Empress's Lead War Strategists, the Mercuries possess the ability to manipulate earth (i.e. rock, other sediment, metal).

Personality: Styx does not come off as a particularly worthy companion. Even putting aside his innate clumsiness, one's left to contend with his curiosity, laziness, and general tendency toward melodrama. Oh, and the fact that he's easily frightened. Redeeming features? Well, he's friendly and rather enthusiastic about most things. More importantly, he can put up with nine kinds of temperamental bullshit without it phasing him. (Absolutely necessary when dealing with Guardians, especially his own.) People skim the surface of his personality and he does very little to push back against their assumptions. Tends to play the part of plucky comic relief around...well, everyone. May have hidden depths—it's a silently acknowledged fact that he'd take a bullet for his Prince but wouldn't take on a cockroach for him—but if so, Styx seems fine with them staying hidden.

How were they in the past life? Much the same as he is now. But, maybe, a little more. More willing to display his devotion to the Prince, more willing to charge into battle, more willing to serve as a voice of reason... More willing to admit that there were things in life he wanted that were destined never be his as a companion. Styx doesn't like to think about the past. It's depressing.

Additional Information: Will eat anything / constantly hungry. Learning "to human" convincingly. Wants someone to cut the crusts off his sandwiches.
