Anyone have any experience with Darkspore? Played the beta, or the full game? It looks like it might be fun, but I can't decide. It's about time I got myself a new game, as there aren't any good ones coming until about the middle of May, and that's right in the middle of my finals. Really unfortunate as some of them ( like Brink and the Witcher ) I've been waiting ages for, and I won't be able to play them at release.

Ahh, who am I kidding, I'm going to play Brink at release and fail my finals because of it.

But it's all good.

And my question remains the same - Darkspore?

I love the new Mortal Kombat, love it like a hot chick who snores. Seriously though, with A.I. programing like that no wonder Midway went under. It wasn't that the previous Mortal Kombat games were just sloppy or overly-complex or whatever. They haven't done a new A.I. since 94.

I agree with you, Mortal Kombat VS DC universe was a joke not only in A.I. but also in story and character selection.
Partly for the hell of it
Solely out of boredom
Mostly for the story

Braioch

Old School (for me anyways :P) but Ocarina of Time, Master Quest.

This game frustrates me, but I shall be victorious!
I'm also on Discord (like, all the time), so feel free to ask about that if you want

Yeah, but that aside, having bad A.I. in a fighting game is like having a Pinto engine in a Lamborghini.

Oh, and the latest B.S. from the Mortal Kombat tower. They want me to kill three Shao Kahns with just Stryker and no health regain in between bouts. That's just Ed Boon sticking me the bird. I honestly could care less if NetherRealm went out of business tomorrow, or if I never saw a new Mortal Kombat after this one. I know I play it a lot, but I'm just trying to get my sixty bucks out of it this point so I can return it for something else.

Giving Mass Effect 2 with Arrival another run through.

Arrival's terrible and puts some real holes in the canon (which to be fair Mass Effect 2 did as well but it did a good job of covering them up). That said Mass Effect 2 is still a very fun game with decent replay value (even if most of the choices and consequences are very limited). Bioware fall into the trap that most companies with multiple writers have of there being a massive difference in the quality of the writing (especially for the companions) but some of their dialogue is still world class, much of the game is well written (although I'm still not a huge fan of the main plot), I don't particularly mind the purging of some of the more "classic" RPG elements and overall I'm really enjoying it despite being about my 6th or 7th playthrough (at least).

That said, arrival's stated purpose of getting me hyped for Mass Effect 3 failed utterly. I'm hyped for it of course but arguably less so than I was before.

So I get past the three Shao Kahn fights by spamming Stryker's pistol attack and a few other evasive moves, less than ten more challenges ahead I have to beat three Goros with Ermac. Ermac has no good spams, Goro is actually harder because he can ground pound, and still no health regen between fights.

Fuck. You. Ed. Boon.

That was hilarious, Wolfy, thank you.

I'm playing the tablet game, where you get use to using a tablet pen after using a mouse for your entire life.

So yeah...now there's a rumor going around that Nintendo's new console, code named Project Cafe, will have a Touch screen...that simulates textures.

I've rented DA:2

I'm going to play what I normally play: two weapon combatant. Let's hope that it's more than just a lame 'hope i get in close before the enemy decides to shoot at me with arrows' strategy.

Just bought Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, and Shadow Complex. Dishwasher is still fucking amazing, but Shadow Complex confuses me... its a good game, so far, but...

Its about a brown haired American guy with 'charming' personality (cracking dry one liners and never taking anything seriously) off to save his girlfriend from a pack of Terrorists who want to take over America. He does so in a suit of power armor.

Pretty standard affair for a video game, right? It was based off a novel >.> a bestseller, too. Theres a book out there screaming to be made into a bland as fuck shooter, and Epic Games granted its wish.

Can't be done. Think about it. You would need some kind of magical glass screen that somehow gets porous, smooth, striated, and a whole other plethora of adjectives. It would have to be electrically charged to provide a kind of amorphous transformation, and while we have something close to that it's not mass-marketable.

Actually, check the link. There is such a screen currently being researched that can produce smooth, rough, and other such textures. Apple is researching it too, and another company already showed off a public demonstration of the technology.

So it's actually not that far fetched.

Sabby

Well, Nintendo does need a new gimmick now that Motion Controls aren't its thing anymore... they could just make sure the console has great games, but TEXTURE SIMULATIONS?! Yeah, thats guna get Oprah talking.

Hemingway

Why does everything Nintendo makes seem like the perfect gimmick for porn?

Next month is going to be like someone hired a Hitman for my wallet. :/

Seriously..Duke Nukem, Zelda, other games...holy crap man. :/

Dragon Age 2:

I like it, actually. Playing it feels less like a movie-wannabe game and more like a rpg now.

Researching does not mean mass marketable.

Not yet, but it certainly means it's close, especially with a public demonstration.

Nintendo is shooting to release their new console next year, and thus, it's likely that the technology will be far along by the time it comes out, and will be ready to be reproduced on the mass market.

Not sure this has been covered but I purchases Portal 2, figured the two player would be fun. Well it is entertaining, there are parts that are just plain idiotic. I don't want to run anything for anyone, but the solution to course three, level eight is just plain dumb.

Well, I don't want to play The Witcher 2 anymore, but I also picked up the Fallout Collection (1,2, and Tactics). So, I suppose it equals out.

Any reason for this? Most of the previews I've seen have been pretty solid looking without anything leaping out and suggesting they've screwed it up. Or is it the general will they/won't they for console that's putting you off?

As has probably been apparent through my posts on here I'm a big Fallout fan (while doing my best to pretend that BoS and Fallout 3 never existed)... great games which you can't really go wrong with.

I'm guessing it has something to do with this.
