Mmmmmm...Battle-armor love!

I pretty much came to the party to shoot some bugs. Anything else outside of that is out there in "whatever" land. Is it safe to assume that we wouldn't want the hot and heavy handled on the IC thread? I figure, to keep the overall purity of the story, people can simply allude to the deed, and maybe handle their business via PM? That satisfies things on both levels, right?

Looking forward to this. Should be fun.

I think PMing segregates things a bit too much.  Though sex is not the focus of the roleplay, it is in the Adult section where such interactions could certainly end up taking place.  Rather than make things private, I suggest that any prolonged sexual encounters be taken to a new thread (Infestation: Player1 and Player2, for example), so that the other players are able to read through it if they so desire.  This keeps the main thread from being cluttered without shoving the sex off into the shadows, keeping it woven into the story.  Character relationships, particularly intimate ones, should not be hidden away in PMs during a group game.

At least that's my take on it.

Rachubka

Fair suggestion. Again, I'm not looking for it to happen, but THIS. IS. ELLIQUIY!

I also don't aim for any of 'it' to be relevant to the story should it happen, but if for whatever reason it is... well, I'm not going to push it out of--

Dang it, Shihong. Why do you think like me?

Crovonovin

It must be some sort of Protoss mind trick!

*laughs@Rachubka+Shihong*

I agree. The freedom to fornicate literally *snickers* is a nice part of this joint. I was only thinking about players who wouldn't want to have to peruse through sex-play in between posts they feel are more important, so I can definitely understand creating another thread to accommodate the stim-pack assisted sexual thrashings of people whose entire beings and purpose are package in tight thrusts, bruised hips, wet lips, and thick dicks. I'm comfy if you guys are!

woo, i have competition.

Character Template
Name & Rank: Gerad Honzue, Freelancer
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Class: Goliath pilot
Equipment: 1 Wasp pistol
Physical Description: Standing at 5'8", he has blue eyes and shock white hair, and is slightly muscular
Vehicle / Armour Description: Goliath is painted red and white, with red being primary. a hawk outline is painted on the side of each of the missile launcher bays.
Personality: Quiet and reserved, he spends most of his time working on his Goliath, making sure it's in working order as it's an older model than usual.
Bio: Born on a fringe world of the Kel-Morian Combine, he learned his way around machines from a young age on his fathers farm and from the Vulture races that would be held every year. when he reached the age of 18, he was skilled in piloting as well as mainntaining most types of vehicles, from dropships to siege tanks. he decided to take his father's old goliath and fix it up, and become a freelancer. in the two years since, he's made a rather large sum of money off of border disputes, and has decided to take just one final job before pulling out of the business until he needs money again.

"just one more mission to go, old girl, and i can get a well deserved rest,, and you can get a much needed overhaul." Gerad was cleaning his Goliath in the dropship bay, waiting to reach where his current employers had told him to wait. Climbing into the cockpit, he began a simulation startup to make sure everything was in working order. halfway through the startup, the left gun read jammed. "dammit, i just cleaned you you stupid piece of..." numerousinventive expletives started to fly as Gerad got back out of the cockpit and checked on the gun, and found a single bolt caught in the rotary gear. as he pulled it out, the pilot's voice came over the PA, "we're approaching the drop point. have a nice day, and get that damned thing off my ship already." Gerad just shook his head and smirked, and threw a mock salute towards the PA speaker. "yes sir, captain jackass." Hr got back into his goliath and started it up, waiting for the drop ramp to open.

There are many things you can tell about a person by the way he/she writes. -me, i think.

Tackyhillbilly

Name & Rank: Captainn Atton Holder
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Class: Wraith Pilot
Equipment: 25 mm Burst Lasters, Gemini Burst AA Missiles, Comm Headset, Sidearm
Physical Description:

Vehicle / Armour Description: Standard Issue Terran Wraith. The Vehicle is Grey, with purple bandings. Atton hasn't affixed any decals to it. He claims he used to put a marker down for every kill, but at the point where they covered the entire vehicle he was asked to stop. Most people believe this is a boast he can't back up. The ship has a number of minor tweaks, but for the most part, they are adjustments to his preferences, rather then actual changes.
Personality: Atton loves to fly. He stays with the Kel-Moiran Combine because they pay him well to do it. He's little more then a mercenary, but a highly skilled and valuable one. He's very protective of his ship, and has been known to curse out mechanics who do what he believes is a substandard job. In order to avoid such occurences, he does most of the work on the Vehicle himself. However, off duty, he's a fairly relaxed fellow, fond of gambling. Every once in a while, he gets considered for a promotion, and he deliberately instigates a disciniplary action in order to keep himself from getting moved to a desk. He's got little attachment to life, and just drifts through it, having fun, And almost getting killed. But that's life.
Bio: Atton was born in Deep Space. Like most born there, he's considered a bit off by most. As long as he can remember, he's been learning to fly, fix, and love ships. His parents gave him the best education they could. When Atton got tired of living under their thumb, he jumped ship. For a while, he flew atmospheric transports, but he still felt the call of the Deep Black. When the Guild Wars opened up, he saw his chance. Atton joined the Kel-Moiran Combine. He's been a military pilot sense.

He's skilled, if a little bit gung ho and rash. But he seems to survive well enough, and his record is impressive. Being in a position of Authority rarely works out well for him though. He expects to much of his fellow pilots. He's been shot down twice, and survived both times, an impressive feat, in and of itself. What was more strange about those events was that he demanded to go back into combat. He wanted revenger for his Ship.

JerichoMyers

About your little rant there about pilots, don't consider my character useful outside his suit. He would more likely point his gun and hoping he kills a Zerg/Protoss. He's going to be the coward of the group, the guy who will ditch you all when things get to heavy and he doesn't have his Goliath in hand. XD

Rachubka

Don't like that you called it a rant, but glad you know what the deal is. :O

I haven't looked at the probe thread, but I know there was Question Mark who had his heart set on the Siege Tank duo. I still haven't had anyone blatantly want to take up the role of Squad Leader, so I'll be picking momentarily! Thread will probably pop up in the next few days.

JerichoMyers

I would take the role, well I usually take the role, but when I created my character I wasn't thinking of squad leader. I kinda figured some one would be on that like flies on shit, so I just said fuck it. But if you want, I can take the helm of squad leader just to save you the possible arguing and bickering with the choice person.

do you mind if I am a unit from Starcraft 2? I know technically speaking it would not be in use, but it could be a prototype or something like that? I ask this since the Marauder is in 2 and being allowed, the unit I was looking at was the Viking. If not I can always go with a standard unit from 1 I don't mind.

Rachubka

Viking... I wouldn't really want in the RP. Just because I think we have enough vehicles, really. A lot of the RPing that I plan on having won't really involve a whole lot of open area terrain for these things to really be integral in the RP. That, and I'm not really a fan of the Viking anyway. Takes too long to transform. Haha.

I only put the Marauder in for variety's sake in terms of infantry. To be fair, there are a heck of a lot of options for a marine, but Marauders talk funny in the game so I like 'em.

For my own sake and maybe those still paying attention, I have a checklist!

1 Ghost
1 Firebat
4 Marines
1 Medic
2 Goliath Pilots (One pending a more... colourful profile)
1 Dropship Pilot
1 Wraith Pilot

As mentioned earlier, there is a Siege Tank duo (hopefully) in the works. I'd like to refrain from any more vehicles beyond the ones above, unless for some reason someone wants to be a Hellion or a Vulture pilot. No big guns, essentially. :)

CrazyIvan

Okay I understand and see I will see where my ideas take me.

Skystomp

Hehe I'm not sure any of us Marine players made our chars up to be squad leaders per say.

@CrazyIvan just make a marine with a modified Firebat suit that fires of grenades/rockets instead of flame and you can be our anti-vehicle go to guy. That'd make two heavy weapon specialist in the group, each with our own place to shine.
The only way you fail, is by not trying.
Linkara "I read it and I wish I hadn't!"

I keep mentioning this game in other threads, so I hope you do not mind if we get more players Rachubka!  XD

Do you think you'l be able to get it up tonight, Rachubka? :-)

Geradine

i has colorfied my post. it's somewhere up near the middle of the page.
The view from behind a scope puts everything into perspective.

Rachubka

Tonight is a little rough. I got soccer practice, a soccer game, and then a little birthday get together. I still want to wait on Question Mark and Aiden is apparently desperate for another medic. What I think I may do is make the opening post for the thread, but have it no where that it would be necessary for the whole entire squad to be together. That way, people can mingle and crap while some others are still applying! That just brings up the question as to where to put the thread. Exotic? lol

I've decided that I'm just going to pick who will be Squad Leader Numero Uno and his second hand. Why a second? Because with this many people, there are chances that a little splitting up is in order. Who knows though, right? All of this is mostly on the fly!

Candidates based on rank:

Assistant Overseer Brock Vulcan
Assistant Overseer Elisabeth Bronski (Someone is definitely going to have to give her a nickname)
Assistant Overseer Sergei Fedorov (Isn't that the name of a hockey player?)
Lt. of the Colonial Fleet Matthew Lee
Captain Atton Holder

I think it really does boil down to Kel-Morian military roles, so, that leaves...

Assistant Overseer Brock Vulcan
Assistant Overseer Elisabeth Bronski
Assistant Overseer Sergei Fedorov

Of those three, based on military experience (and shallow forum experience)...

Assistant Overseer Brock Vulcan (Aiden) &
Assistant Overseer Elisabeth Bronski (Shihong) as his second.

These officers will stand until someone objects. Obviously the voices of these two are going to be primary if they want to step down. What being an officer really means is that they'll just get a little more insight on the events to come than the rest of the RPers. They can ask me questions and I can guide them this way and that so that their characters can make effective decisions (or ineffective decisions, based on how I feel that day).

Any questions? No. Good. Carry on.

Aiden

Who doesn't love medics...They keep you up in the heat of combat.

After it is all done, they can keep your morale up to remind you why the hell you are fighting for in the first place.
Hooo rah!

Crovonovin

I have no qualms about Elisabeth being Brock's second.  Given her personality, I'm not sure if she'd cut it in a leadership position (at least not as the primary one), though she knows her way around the battlefield well enough to issue orders in a pinch.  Of course, this is going to be a very different battlefield than the one she or any of them are is experienced in!

I should also mention now that my posting may be sporadic from the 5th through to the 12th, as I will be on Vacation during that time.  I'll still have access to a computer, but I'll also be pretty busy during the day!

(And she totally does need a nickname.  I'll leave that to the other members of the Kel-Morian squad.  What fun are call-signs unless someone else sticks you with one?)

Aiden

Ahhhaaa...typical orders from Both Brock and Elisabeth are nearly the same.

"Kill them all, ask questions later."

That is what I gather from their personalities, I really hope none of our squad mates are fiercely loyal confederates.

Rachubka

I don't think any are fiercely loyal. We have a mix of Kel-Morian natives, confederates, and a few mercenaries.

But seriously, where should I put this sucker? NC Human? NC Exotic (I dunno... maybe someone fancies a little Zerg love)? Bondage? I don't think anyone wants to really have gore in THAT sense in this RP.

Aiden

I would say NC-Exotic small groups, if we get to graphic with our deaths and kills...it might get pushed over into extreme.

NC because there is violence and action, exotic because we are dealing with exotic species. I don't think anyone wants to get it on with a zerg...maybe someone who wants to get infested we can play that out...but nothing like a zergs going family style on someone.

Crovonovin

My Catch-All category for most games involving anything that isn't human is always NC-Exotic, if only because it covers all the bases without going into Extreme territory and saves me the trouble of requesting that it be moved later on down the line if anything unexpected comes up.

JerichoMyers

I would love to play one of the siege tank roles, but it would be better if some one would come along for the ride. Honestly, the siege tank s my favorite in the series but I don't think anyone would want to do that with me; but if some one is game, I am.
