The Heroes:

Five young adults from different backgrounds, all brought together for a common goal...Defend the earth from an evil to great for normal conventions. The five heroes were brought together by the creator of the power coins, Ninjor.

After a long talk Ninjor convinced the five to fight and defend the Earth against a force that the world was not ready to meet. He presented each hero with a Power Coin and Morpher, explaining the abilities they would gain by accepting the Coins. Ninjor offered the group a safe haven and base of operations just outside of Angel Grove located at the base of a mountain.

Ill break the ice. Im a pretty nostalsgic role player, so something like this sit's well with me. Were you looking to make things a bit darker in contrast to the shows? Or keep things over the top kung fu'ish action packed fun? A mix?

I haven't decided yet on the tone. First I would like to see what everyone else would like to do. But I have been on a Power Rangers binge as of late and can't stop thinking about it.

In terms of style, it's hard to say which I like better. The first pic feel's very martial arts, Very asian. But also quite knight like.

While I do like the more cyber look of the second one.

Id have to say the first, I like the mid evil looking animal theme. Though I wont argue with the cyber look, since it makes more sense. None of the ornaments and such,  more uniform, more battle ready.

Any plans on further characters beyond the rangers? Is it open for non rangers who dont wanna be bad guys?

Im partial to the Black ranger my self, so I think id like to take that slot. Though, it is too soon to say. I also like the look of white, and red is my favorit color. Blue is my close third (with Yellow as my second favorit color). So im basically fine with any of the colors. :P . Say for pink or yellow, which is mainly used for female rangers.

Background: As most know, without Evil there can be no good. The Green Dragon Coin was created as a way to balance the world. Ninjor created the five power coins to combat evil and force it off the planet but unknown to him a sixth coin was created and given to a ruthless killer who united all that followed the path of pain under his rule. The Green Ranger's hatred of all that was good ran so deep that he developed the power to create life from his pure hatred. For years he slowly built an army of soldiers based off of popular legends and myths.

When he felt the time was right, the Green Ranger attacked the earth and after ten years and a war against the Five Power Rangers the Green Ranger and his army was seemingly destroyed. Little did they know that in secret the original owner of the Green Power Coin still lived and walked among the mortals. Slowly re building his power and army while others such as Tommy Oliver gave new power to his Coin. When the rangers lost their power Coins the Original Green Ranger found the White Ranger Power Coin and took the energy of it as his own, re creating the Green Coin and the Dragon Zord...

Background: Conner was an odd sort, some one typically thought to be predictable. Some one most think they can sum up in few words, Simple minded Jock. But that is far from what Conner is. At least past face value that is. He grew up in Angel Grove, born and raised a mechanics son. A grease monkey from an early age, he learned the values of hard work and kicking back.

In his teens and throughout High School, Conner was quite the foot ball player. Not only training his way into being a physical power house, but had the skill to be one of the teams star players. He was quite capable of filling just about any roll he needed to. And for it had rightfully earned the status of Quarter back. Though he could even play on defense if need be. Though, in spite of his attributes in sports and physical skill... He was sub par in his grades. He graduated highschool, but had few odds at any kind of scholarship beyond what would be earned by football. And, sure enough he was given many offers, from quite a few good schools. But, with all the offers given, he said no. He refused to use football as his way to an education. He was either going to earn it, or not. That was that and as a result, he never did. He stayed at his home town, working with his father again in the old shop. To most that know him, he was either a failure or a cautionary tale. But to Conner he made the right choice. He didnt want time wasted on a kid who only knew how to throw a ball, especially since it was only because he can throw a ball.

Special trait: Outside of being a Ranger, he works with his father as a auto-motives mechanic. From repairs to rigging something up. Thanks to being a Ranger, he has been able to graduate from grease monkey to a more advanced engineer.

Combat: Thanks to his background in football. He is incredibly strong, and in great human condition. The physical powerhouse for the team. A born fighter, and all around brick house. An aggressive and natural combatant, fit for the use of his axe.

Con: Being the star player of his team for years, he grew used to being relied on. And as such learned to rely on himself. A lone wolf, who try's to solve his own issues, rather then share burdens with friends. But always open to ease the burden of a friend.

Hobbies: Likes working on vehicles. His favorite music is a picky mixture of metal and classic rock. And, secretly he has dabbled into Role playing and quite enjoyed it. Though it was hard to come by in Angel Grove, so he rarely ever played.

She moved to Angel Grove recently and is still getting to know the area and it seems this move might well be more permanent as it is on her terms.

Kayla currently attends college in Angel Grove studying contemporary music and is on the college Archery team. She works part time at a record store though her life as a Ranger could complicate this somewhat. Her most prized possessions are her guitar and bow and is often lugging one or the other about

Background: Olivia is a very charismatic and ambitious individual. Everything she does must be upped more than necessary. She's gets a thrill from exceed her own expectations and loves to challenge others to push themselves further, making very a very out-going, but sometimes bossy, young woman. Much of her personality comes from the way she was raised and some would assume that her childhood had a dark past, but its more sugar coated than one would expect.

Olivia had the pleasure of growing up in a very well-educated upper middle class family. Her life with the arts started at a young age when she got to watch her mother perform on stage and at the ripe age four, she soon found herself in a studio learning various dance styles. Her parents were always very adamant about extra curricular activities and balancing school, making Olivia a very hard working student. She was a honor student throughout every grade in school and graduated highschool as valedictorian. Despite her impressive credentials, Olivia was just a normal girl wanting a more exciting life. Now attending college, she has every ambition to try something new and start an adventure like no other.

Background: Jacob grew up as an orphan after his parents died in a car accident and he had no other immediate family to care for him.  Before this, he was a normal kid who took karate classes for fun and to be with his friends, but thereafter he began practicing as a matter of focus to keep his mind occupied and distract him from the hardships of growing up in an orphanage.  He tried to teach some of the friends he made during his time there, but he has proven better at making friends than teaching others.

Adopted at 12, he found more opportunities to continue his passion whilst finally being able to have a semblance of family life.  His new foster parents, recognising his potential as a national champion, chose to foster this and enjoyed basking in his successes.  Though not as successful in his studies, he's proven competent enough to be in the top half of the class.  Once he was done with university, he we went professional to enter world-class entry.

Despite a generally calm and easy-going manner, his focus tends to waver when friends are in danger as he does not relish the idea of losing those important to him.  He plays the guitar, video games, and goes horse riding in his spare time.  Often disappears to go training in the mountains and forests otherwise, due to his fondness for nature, which has made him quite good at outdoor survival.

Special Trait: Combat & Tactics - Due to his father being Spec Ops, Kain was trained from a young age how to fight; whether hand to hand, with weapons, firearms or anything else. He knows multiple forms and is highly efficient in all of them. Also thanks to his dads military background, Kain knows how fights work. He knows when to back off, when to press your advantage, and when to think of a new plan because the old one isn't working so well.

Background: Kain's father is one of the best soldiers the US military has ever produced. However due to that skill and the nature of his work, his accolades and talents will never be acknowledged by the public. Officially he doesn't even exist. But Kain Kendrick's Sr. is very real despite what governments the world over believe. Kain Sr. met Ariani on a mission and kept in touch after he left. When he got some free time they reunited and hit it off incredibly fast. In only two years they'd had Kain Jr.

His father continued to serve his country, but after a few years he turned in his resignation papers and went into the private military sector so he could spend more time with his son. The Kendrick's loved their son to pieces, and while Kain didn't care what his son became in life, he wanted him to be prepared regardless. So from a young age he taught him everything he knew from fighting styles to survival skills to military tactics. They made sure he had good grades in school and enrolled him in sports classes to keep him active. Kain Jr's life was never dull, that much was certain.

He grew up in Angel Grove and made a name for himself as a local legend. Like his good buddy Conner, he was all over the football field and together the two of them made an unstoppable combo of QB and receiver...or just those two guys on defense you wanted nowhere near you if you had the ball. He also put the wrestling team on the map when they went undefeated and took the national championship two years in a row thanks to him. He was considering joining the military or his dad's PMC, but with his Ranger duties he just doesn't have the time. For now he's in school and works part time at the gym as a martial arts instructor. He also moonlights as a firearms instructor on rare occasions.

Background:
Nick was born to a Teacher and Preacher, both... religious. Of course everyone knew he would go through his rebel stage, but they just never figured that it would never end. He grew up knowing that he was a "sinner" and that he would never be good enough, so his thought was, why the fuck bother? He was sixteen when his rebellion started really showing through, his first tattoo on his left hand (later getting one of his right hand to match) and drinking fairly heavily. It took him till seventeen to finally start smoking. Yes that conversation was as you would expect it when his parents finally found out.

At 18 he was so sick and tired of people telling him what to do he dropped a bomb on his parents that would leave them speechless for the next year and then some. He was bisexual, he was effectively disowned and kicked out, which wasn't much of a surprise. It didn't deter Nick however, he moved in with one of his friends and headed off to College that year. Though he still has fun every once in awhile Nick has mellowed out for the most part. Turning into a relative silent person, and a rather bright man. His grades remain straight A's even though he works at a full time job and also helps his friend around the apartment. He doesn't have much of a social life, but he doesn't much mind that either. Now 1 year into College he has a new destiny that he must set upon, and it is one he could never possibly see coming.

What? Were you expecting a picture of a cute girl? Too bad! It’s only a long, tedious, and efficacious character description!

Being a villain is no easy task; that is, as long as you want to be more than just a petty criminal. While super powers are optional, there are a great amount of other requirements that make a super villain... well, a super villain. Few are more important than appearances, as a villain's costume can make or break a malefactor's career. Mell-la has taken care in choosing her outfit for evil doing, making sure to combine a sense of dread while maintaining a sexualized flare; taking advantage of her natural beauty and dark background.

Starting from the base, Mell-la wears a deep blue latex jumpsuit which covers her entire body save for her midriff, which exposes her smooth, pale skin. The glossy clothing tightly wraps around her body, perfectly detailing the curves of her relatively small breasts and long, streamlined legs. She sports a small, seemingly lightly armored breastplate complete with shoulderpads, which boasts a high-tech look with silver, glittery plating, golden lining, and even detailed breasts (undoubtedly to make her chest look larger). A long black cape hangs on the shoulders of the breastplate, which can easily be dispatched with a simple shrug of the shoulders. She doesn't wear much on her lower half  besides a very short skirt that matches her breastplate, although is rather wide allowing her to move her legs freely without much discomfort. She also wears silver high heel boots, reaching just below the knees in a point, and look very uncomfortable to wear.

What most stands out about her uniform are her gauntlets, which appear to contradict the otherwise futuristic look for which she was aiming. They are rugged and sharp like icicles, complimented by the feint white aura that swirls around them. The tips of the fingers are as pointy as the three appendages sticking out on top of the forearms. A bright, lightning-like energy can be seen coursing through the gauntlets from the area between each appendage, which are no doubt the source of the aura. The gauntlets appear to be lightly armored from the little bulk they add to Mell-la's figure, but the alien material which plates them suggests a harder reality.

Deviating from the creepier parts of her uniform, Mell-la made sure that her natural beauty was expressed in the outfit, which is apparent thanks to the tight latex jumpsuit and the lack of any head accessories. She keeps her long, wavy black hair in thick ponytails, tied up high and reaching down to her breasts. The hair on top of her head is still rather thick, but is otherwise kept away from her face so that her "sweet" eyes and her deranged, psychopathic smile are in full view for her enemies.

...*Sigh* Fine, I'll use a picture! Sheesh, you people have no imagination...

Son Na Eun

Background: For every star in the night sky, there is a story to be told. Most would think these stories tell tales of valiant heroes overcoming great odds to to defeat ghastly villains, or brave ragtag groups of rebels overthrowing abusive empires to usher in a new age of peace and democracy... But alas, in reality such stories rarely exist. Although the naive mind may protest to such claims, those who sacrifice petty morals and emotions in exchange for power and influence have always reigned supreme over those who follow exemplary and selfless paths. As unfortunate as it may seem, the vast galaxy favors those who, with cruel and antagonistic natures, followed the word of evil on paths of intergalactic conquest. Such points have never been truer than for Voidcore, who is better known as "The Sovereign of the End." Voidcore controls over twenty percent of the known galaxy, all of which he had conquered through his "Campaign of Terror," where hundreds of worlds fell against his army of monsters.

But this... is not his story. Because that would be way too interesting for a low-budget show made to sell children toys.

Enter Mell-la Voidcore, Voidcore's significantly less competent daughter. While the origin of her existence is better left unsaid (for how such a being like Voidcore procreates is topic which no one wants to discuss), those who have the displeasure of meeting Mell-la might be perplexed on how she, who appears to be little more than a young woman, could be related to the great and powerful Voidcore. Her cosmetics and apparel might give off a sense of villainy, but to the oblivious eye she could come across as rather cute, not unlike a high school girl or a model. Such delusions are usually shattered when one is exposed to her loud and robust personality, which resembles much more like her father than her appearance. An accurate description of her would compare her to a stereotypical villain from a cape comic or cartoon; lusty, menacing, colorful, and above all else theatrical. What she lacks of her father's natural terrifying demeanor she makes up for in grandiose speeches and phrases.

Being the daughter of an evil emperor has its benefits, in contrast to what some "benevolent" preachers might have to say about the matter. As her full title would imply, Mell-la was pampered and spoiled to a degree that would make even the most self-indulgent child disgusted. She lived in one of the grandest palaces (or dungeon to some) in the northern galaxy, and was treated to any toy or food in existence, although she never had any friends growing up. Being the offspring of an intergalactic overlord it goes without saying that many of her childhood days were dedicated to tedious lessons on history, military tactics, and combat training. Mell-la was quite lax when it came to practicing what she had learned, so most of these lessons fell on deaf ears. While she did pick up a few tricks through her schooling, she ultimately turned out to be less competent than her siblings, which ended up labeling her as "the disappointing one."

Nearing the end of her teenage years, Voidcore, in an attempt to shape up his lazy daughter, enlisted Mell-la in an "internship" under Necrosis of the Black Snow. Necrosis was a mercenary general who had a reputation almost as notorious as Voidcore's. Having fought in hundreds of wars all across the galaxy, his prowess in combat was matched only by his knowledge in military tactics. Despite his impressive resume of accomplishments, Necrosis was best known for the weapons that gave him his vast powers: The Gauntlets of the Black Snow. Named after the black snow which falls around those who master the gauntlets, these legendary weapons boast a wide variety of powers, each more fearful than the last. Although difficult to wield and harder to master, those that wield the legendary weapons are promised certain victory in battle. Because of their nature some speculate that they use the same technology as the Power Rangers, but no evidence has confirmed their connection.

Anyways, Mell-la was sent off to serve under Necrosis in an "internship" of sorts. While being tutored by the mercenary general during her time working for him, most of Mell-la's duties had little to do with combat or conquests; instead, she was assigned mundane tasks such as cleaning Necrosis' armor, cooking his food, and making sure all of the subordinates went to bed at a decent hour. Mell-la's internship was going smoothly until Necrosis unexpectedly died of food poisoning when the two of them were investigating a planet that, according to legend, "held the secret of a limitless power." Frantic to the point of competency, Mell-la seized the Gauntlets of the Black Snow from Necrosis' lifeless body and became the new wielder of the legendary weapons. With grand powers now at her beck and call, as well as the reputation of the killer of Necrosis of the Black Snow, Mell-la practically became one of the most feared names in the galaxy overnight. It wasn't long before she was sought after by the Green Ranger, who offered her the opportunity to work alongside him in his conquest against the Power Rangers. Enthralled by the opportunity, Mell-la gleefully accepted the proposal, unaware that she was way over her head...

Special trait: As aforementioned, Mell-la is the current wielder of the Gauntlets of the Black Snow, which are artifacts that grant their owner extraordinary powers. While the previous owner had completely mastered them over hundreds of years, and therefore could tap into their full power, Mell-la is incapable of using the gauntlets to their full potential. Currently Mell-la only has two powers at her disposal: the first power allows her to create weapons out of pure energy, while the second power gives her the ability to shoot destructive lightning out of her hands. The weapons she can make are limited only to her imagination, although possess no special abilities outside of their conventional counterparts, besides being nearly indestructible. Mell-la can materialize these weapons swiftly and spontaneously. They are also weightless in the hands of Mell-la, allowing her to wield them with ease, but retain their weight and strength when interacting with the outside world (such as a Power Ranger, for example). Her lightning is more straight forward, as it simply allows her to launch destructive black and white electricity out of her hands from a distance. The lightning is powerful, as any surface, person, or building that touches it will explode into small, low budget burst of sparks.

Outside of the powers granted by the gauntlets, Mell-la is a rather incompetent fighter and leader. She knows basic martial arts, but has trouble holding her own in a fight against multiple opponents. She also possesses some knowledge in the mystic arts, but doesn't use them in combat thanks to the gauntlet's easier to use powers. Her leadership skills are sub-par, but is capable of concocting a well thought out plan once in a while. Above all, her skills in theatrics are much better than her actual fighting skills, but is still a force to be reckoned with thanks to the Gauntlets of the Black Snow.
