Shipwrecked on Claw Island(PF game, survival game, other kinks)

It was supposed to be a normal trip across the Kyrstic Sea, the band of misfits and assholes called an "adventuring" group going to a new continent to avoid certain arrest warrants and loan sharks. Too bad a freak hurricane came out of nowhere, proceeding to attack the ship and drive it into the blue unknown. The ship remarkably lasting for a while in the storms before smashing against the rocks of some unknown island in gods know where, the force of the impact knocking the band unconscious.

When you all come too, you find yourselves bruised and battered but mostly alive, and find yourselves on a tropical beach paradise. The remains of the ship gutting out of the rocks several hundred feet off the shore, the prow of the ship pointing straight up. So it is up for you all to survive on the island and find a means to get off of it, along with finding out the mysteries of this island at your own peril...

Rules!
-Level 4.
-5d6 epic rolls.
-Normal hp rolls.
-No summoners or psionics.
-Anything else I think up later.

Naturally this game will rely more heavily on any survival and craft skills the party has. Just be careful to not metagame. Most of you, realistically, will not have any experience with beach front property, so automatically knowing how to build shelter and other details and the higher points of survival shouldn't be automatic. Common sense stuff like, "Oh! Maybe we need to find water maybe?", is just basic basic. Knowing how to build a hut out of bamboo and leaves, however, will take a higher craft and survival checks.

I will allow for one of you to "accidentally" be good at craft magical arms and armor or craft magical items. Finding supplies and the gold needed for making new magical gear will come from searching the island and so forth.

Also any prepared arcane casters will find their spellbooks to be rather wet at the start of the game, which tends to ruin spellbooks. Unless of course you splurg for waterproofing before the game starts, which is a reasonable precaution for any wizard. Divine casters will find that their holy symbols were lost in the wash onto shore, but given 20 minutes and plenty of rock on rock violence you can re-create a replacement in a jiffy.

May also be a good idea for one of you to be a ranger.

I'm interested, and think I actually have a ranger at level 4... but I take it that the favored terrain shouldn't be "Beach Front." lol

If a ranger is acceptible, I should be able to post something by tomorrow for review.

Questions:

Equipment: What survives the shipwreck? Meaning, the majority of equipment, or some basics?

How about a ranger's nature bond, would you allow the critter?

Totally up for this idea! This sounds like such a good idea. Would bards be too meta, they do know everything? No, I play bards too much... something new...

Druid sounds like cheating and so does Barbarian... I'd have to think about it.

This makes me want to play a Wizard that HASN'T had their book waterproofed. All helpless and at the mercy of savages and the rest of the group until she can either dry out her book (and hope the pages aren't completely mulch/stuck together) or somehow replace it.

An athletic figure with a combination of soft curves and firm muscles is accentuated with generous d breast, a slender, toned waist and flaring out into rounded hips and rear. Personality:

Gina tends to keep to herself when surrounded by people that she doesn’t know well. Having said that, she’s as happy as anyone else to enjoy the companionship of others… in relatively short periods of time. She’s admittedly more comfortable under the canopy of the forest and the blue sky than the crowds of towns; she is a loyal friend to those who have earned it and will go some distance for them. Background:

The only child of a human father and a raped half-elf maid, Gina did not have an easy childhood, nor did this make her particularly fond of people in general after watching her mother rejected more often than not when trying to sell herbs and the occasional craft in the region’s towns and villages… they all perfered to believe that the man who sired her had been tricked into it.

It was natural for Gina to gravitate to the forest and plains of the region, and she learned well the lessons of her mother in the tricks and ways of nature as she grew older and only sparingly interacted with the townspeople and farmers of the area.

Gina received some notice when she foiled an orc ambush of a farmsted in her late teens, although she managed to drive off the attackers with well placed bow-shots from the edges of the forest, she didn’t escape unharmed when a paniced orc literally ran he over and attempted to take her virginity forcefully before she could drive the thing off with a dagger and make her own escape. From that moment on, she would hate orcs with a passion that was nearly sexual.

Then, Gina hit fate head on one night as she was helping her mother gathe vegetables for their dinner. A human appered from the shadows suddenly and in a drunken stagger, tried to accost her mother. In a unthinking rage, Gina pulled her bow and before she knew what she had done, she had placed 3 arrows into the man’s back; killing him with the first shot. It was only a few days later that she learned that the man she killed was a nobleman and she was being accused of murder. With nothing else to do, she fled the area and eventually found herself on a ship leaving for a new life.. and ultimately shipwrecked on an island shaking sand from her blouse.

Personality:

Gena is a woman who enjoys life with a zest that could leave some winded simply by watching her. A constant, vibrant energy seems to infuse her every breath and she firmly believes that life is meant to be lived, people anoyed and humor above all is to be encouraged. If you’re as likely as not to die tomorrow, live for today! A relatively good natured person, she is as much at home in a crowd of people in a tavern as she is in the wilds of the forest as she tracks evil beings wherever she might find them. Her only true companion seems to be a wolf who is rarely away from her side; although she has no problem keeping a lusty fellow company for a few nights here and there.

Background:

Gena was the only child of adventuring parents who’s main ambition in life was to see what might lay over the next hill and behind the next tree. Traveling with her parents, Gena experienced a wide range of locations and the wonderlust of two people very much committed to each other. For the first 13 years of her life, the world was a constantly changing place with new things to experience each hour.

Just after Gena’s 13th birthday, she was moving through a thickly forested region with her parents; on the move once again for the next town down the road when they were set upon by a band of goblins that had been terrorizing the locals for several months. The short fight was little more than a massacre and within a seemingly few minutes, Genas parents were dead and the teenage girl left for dead amist the looted campsite. For the next several days, the youth stumbled along the packed dirt road until an old man happened across her and took her in.

“Sasha” was a ranger of some note who had been slowly cutting down the goblin band over the last several weeks and after finding the site of the latest raid, had set out to find the owner of the footprints that had wondered away; unknowingly in the ssame direction as the goblin raiders and had nearly walked right into their camp. Over the next several years, Gena would learn from the old hunter and learn the intircates of the bow and hunting those who would hunt the goodly and innocent folks; taking on the profession herself as she matured.

It was on such a mission that an older Gena would stumble upon an abandoned wolf-cub trying to nurse at his dead mother’s tit and take the scrawny thing in. Although she named the  wolf the rediculous name of “Wind” the wolf took to it quickly enough. While Wind would never be tamed, they developed a intense bond and as the wolf grew to an adulthood, a respect for each other’s abilities and affection for sharing warmth.

catgirl... I thought I got rid of that... ok a little rewriting... I didn't think that the background would START on the ship, but what do I know. lol

is that your sweet way of saying no companion? I'll have to go through the archetypes then as it's a wasted feature if I can't use it.

Malak is a mercenary for hire. He had been working the job for about 6 months now, and while he did at one point have a huge lump sum of money, he spent nearly all of it on the huge sword he keeps with him at all times. Malak is a slight alcoholic and while its not a need for him, he finds himself having "one more drink" quiet a lot.

Yeah, I took that into account, but it can also be a useful asset as it can probably hunt better than they can, but then who knows. If you're desperate enough to eat wolf when you can find easier meat sources, like humans, who knows.

So... difficult decision as I never seem to get to be able to play with the damned thing. I either get into games that don't last but a couple of weeks... not even to the first encounter, or start off too low to get the thing and still don't get to the first enocunter... Not much of a loss...

Maybe I should scrap the idea and look at a swashbuckler. *chuckles*

Being Literate is the ability to read and understand a language. When you ask for literate, what you are looking for is Verbosity, which is the ability to use lots of words without actually saying very much... like politicians. I consider myself both literate and verbose.

Ok, making some changes to Gina. I'm taking the Wild Shadow archetype. That removes the nature's bond and doesn't effect too much else. I'll make changes to the character's background and modify it above.
