Power Rangers RP intrest check

I woke up this morning dreaming of Power Rangers, and decided that it was inspiration enough to try my hand at GM'ing a group rp.

I don't have all the details ironed out but I was thinking that we could have each ranger represent an era of time and have weaponry to match said Era.
I would prefer if all characters are original.

for example:
Super Special Awesome Ranger
Era: Old west
Weapon: Twin Six Shooters
Skills: Roping and Horse Riding
Zord: Bronco Zord - Leg / Arm part.

For HP we'll use the Dice Bot, roll five D20 add together and multiply by 2

I'd draw up a sheet but I don't know what ones are already taken if that list isn't up-to-date already.  Still, I might go for a monster spot or something along the lines of a fused Mystic Ranger and a Samurai one as the special ranger spot lol.  Haven't decided yet though, we'll see.  I do have to ask but where's the Black Ranger?  There's always normally at least one somewhere a season far as I remember but this is your show Digital Ninja.

And just to offer some fun, here's a bit of a history lesson for everyone.  :D

You start with 5 and then add a special ranger... or in some cases start with 3 then add two more... Black Ranger was one of the original but they have replaced black with blue and/or green quite a bit now...

True, but whatever you got planned, please DO NOT do anything stupid as Zedd or Rita usually did.  Zedd's monsters were pretty freaky at times sure but they were all kid friendly, as was Rita's given it was aimed at a kiddy audience and all.  This is E, make it at least scary if not sexy lol.

Must I make the red ranger the stereotypical good guy, or can I mold him into something a bit more sinister, maybe a rapist who was granted the powers of the special ranger in a generation somewhere in the future but was sent by the father figure in the past to help stop this new threat and was promoted to the position of red ranger. Maybe the special ranger powers could come back as an upgrade to his abilities at some point?

Just as an added note, he will have a platypus zord :)

Former special ranger, kinda like Tommy was green, white then red. He was just promoted to the red ranger position like Sky, Trip, and a few others were.

In the series they seem to be up to plotdevicium, not sure how that would play as a char, though that'd be the position I'd go for if feeling weird enough.

As far as I've ever seen, the engineer or scientist creature was responsible for making new creatures, hiring on mercenaries, and generally calling in anything they could find to help their overlords although they didn't always stay loyal to them as one can see in Time Force when that robot fellow, can't think of his name at the time, betrayed the guy he was working for to make his own little plans to conquer the world.

That's why the position is interesting. The only problem I see is in balancing, cause, in the way we both describe them, they need some sort of 'creative power', also known as intentional godmodding.

Yes, well, one could easily come up with a list of abilities for a supportive evil dude (can repair, can empower monsters, can juggle 5 items at once, has device x that does y to power ranger powers... but when you go into the realm of creating monsters it gets complicated*nodnodnod*

Just a thought about the scientist, but should every one of his creations have either a physical or personality flaw that can be exploited to keep them from being OP? Maybe as the story progresses he slowly makes them more and more subtle?

Lol, I like having a set up to why he traveled back several centuries to lead a group of rangers from different points in time to fight an enemy. Oh speaking of enemies, would it be possible for earth to be destroyed by your decedents and enslaved? I was figuring that is why My guy would be sent back to not stop him/put off his conquering but rather to complete destroy him and prevent the fate of the world he lived in.

I'm a bit confused by what I saw there Ninja, and might I recommend that we put an OOC up so we're not hogging the group wanted area?  As for a second special ranger, I'm all for it.   ;D  There's normally two at some point in each series of the PR shows, at least near the second half of whatever season you happen to be watching.

basically HP is just to determine if you pass out during battle... meaning we roll dice for attacks...

it's a free form dice roll...

the attacker and the defender roll a D20 to determine if the attack lands, if the attacker wins they roll a die for damage, the size of the damage die will be determined by weapon/form of attack/ect.
