Nimble feet raced across the dew covered grass. Ruby eyes looked over a graceful tattooed shoulder, searching the dense forest for signs that she was still being followed. Her body jerked violently as she ran, one of the boutny hunter having thrown artic water on her normally bot form, nearly putting her in shock.

All this because she had been at the wrong place at the wrong time. She leaned against the trunk of a tree as she recalled the day this all happened. She was a maid for a cleaning service assignedto cleaning a jewle distribution company. She worked the night shift. One night she walked into the main office to clean and slipped on the blood the coated the room. Of course as she had pulled herself to her feet, coated in blood, security took that moment to come in. The rest was a blur of running and wanted posters. She was now worth 1.7 lbs of beautifully cut diamonds, worth 3.5 million dollars. All to catch a 'rabid' fox/wolf girl.

She tucked her ears into her mane of hair, doing the same with her tail, so that she looked completely human. She did not know what she was. She looked either like a fox or a wolf. But with her parents dead and no clans bearing simliR red marking that adorned her shoulders, back, cheek and eyelids, she had no way of telling what she was.

"A freak on the run is what they should have said......not 'wanted alive: rabid fox/wolf woman'" she muttered distastefully to herself as she looked up at the moon and nigt sky.

Clicks of hard soles shoes echoed over the bustling of people, normal bar folks couldn't hear it, but skilled men train in the art of silence heard the offending noise like gun shots. The normal neighborhood lushes and oblivious barmaids partied on as the man's freshly bought shoes squeaked on the worn, sticky wood floor. Only a few looked up in his directions—not really wary of the stranger, just tense through the years of their occupation—it posed as a good sign when the bartender eyes wandered as well. The other men scoffed at the sight of the well dressed man, a very valuable looking jacket tightly button up, only the busting purple silk ascot tie could be seen threw the lapel; it was a very expensive looking Edwardian dress suite, and he wasn't shy on the deep red velvet color either.

The stray drinkers turned their noes up at the the man, but the bartender kept eye contact with him. “What can I get for you?” he asked. His words scripted, only paying enough attention to get the order.

just Black Vodka, no ice, lukewarm.” He said, his foreigner voice light, but deep enough to where no one could confuse he was a man. “And place it in a nice cup, it'll enhance the taste.” He said, not looking at the bartender, but behind him.

The bartender quirked an eyebrow and slowly looked behind him, but there was nothing of importance back there, just various of liquor bottles, oddly enough, none was labeled 'Black Vodka', though he did have it, as he reached under the table for the generously full bottle—it was expensive, and it tasted like shit bare, so not many people wasted their money on it.
He pulled out a twisting vase like glass, and  poured the foreigner the natural amount qualified for a shot—all the way to the red bottom, now a dark black—but the stranger stared at it incredulously, it only took a few pauses for the bartender to take the hint and poured more up to the ending of the blue middle, he paused thinking the stranger was going to want to reach the yellow rim, but corked the bottle when the man picked up the glass.

It was obvious the man had some questions as the bartender pretend to clean an already clean glass—well, as clean as it was going to get—but the man said nothing as he sat there and his red mustache lip rested on the cup, lifting to allow only small amounts of liquor as he stared at random weird places, like the edge of the bar counter, or the corner of the ceiling.

The bartender's eyes darted over to a couple of men that stood from their tables, they were a few of the men that followed the stranger as his obnoxious shoes click/squeaked to the counter. The bartender's eyes wondered back over to the stranger who annoyingly sat at the front stools with him, and his eyes narrowed as he saw that the stranger's silver eyes was looking in the directions of the men too.

“Work here in a town like this?” The man asked, running a hand through his slick back red hair, with a streak of whit down the middle. The bartender couldn't help but smirk at that.

“If there's a job your looking for, there might be a butcher hiring... or a tailor. You might want to check out a few posters up in town... ” The bartender started, laying down hints to see if the man was real or not.

Under the counter, he slid out a flier with a fox like demon girl on the page, it was a drawing, and she was portrayed as looking very ravenous and feral, like any other 'hideous' demons prosecuted by town folks, he didn't pull it out to show the man—bounty hunting, even though enforce by towns people, was still a vigilante sport that could get them with a price on their head too.

The man didn't speak as he place a few gold coins on the counter and left his nearly full glass there. The bartender blinked as he scowled and dumped the liquor on the already filthy floor. The man in the nice red Edwardian suit walked out of the tavern, seeing the group of scoundrels earlier, they were carrying tanks of vibrant blue water, he could feel the cold from here. He didn't follow them though, he went in a completely different direction as he reach in his pocket and pulled out a flier, one that greatly resembled the same one the bartender had, he read the words 'wanted alive: rabid fox/wolf woman'.

“I've already have...” He mumbled, making a bee line into the forest.

It took some time, and he was a little annoyed, but he expected it would take long, so he calmly waited in the trees. It was then that he heard the silent, but noticeable pats of stealthy feet, he looked off in the distance to see a flow of silky hair running his way. It was a great contrast to the Medusa like mammal that was drown in the picture, but he could tell it was her. Loving dramatics, he waited until she was close enough to jump right in front of her path, hardly faltering when she crashed right into him.

Artemis had been so focused on running that she had not seen where she was going for she ran right into something hard and...warm? She stumbled back quickly, her tail could be seen for a mere moment as he mane of hair flowed forward during her movements. She crouched down a little bit, staring at the man before her. She inwardly could not help but laugh at the man's appearance. He was the most ostentatious thing she had ever seen. His red hair, his red mustache, his silver eyes and his red and purple outfit.

She still shook violently, not out of fear but out of pure coldness. Her body was still feeling the affects of the arctic water. She shifted her feet and moved as if she was going to run to the right, before she ran to the left, jumping into the trees as she did. She extended her tail to give herself an easier jump into the tree. She did not want to stick around and find out what a strange man like that wanted with her. No one that dressed like that came to the woods for any good reason. She shook her head, her ears sticking up straight so she could hear any little noise he made if he tried to follow her.

Black Orchid

Well, that wasn't very civil, he's not even spoken one word and she was already bolting away like a little lamb from a wolf. Well, he sees how she's going to play it, actually, he knew she was going to high tail it in the first place—all pun intended. He was right behind her as she ran, though he stayed on the ground, he looked up at her as his shoes squeaked from the flexing.

“Well, that's not very nice.” He said, not raising her voice, he knew she could hear him. “You must not be one for pleasantries; no matter.” He still ran as fast as her as he bent his body forward and wrapped an arm around his waist. “My name is Yaroslav Jeovonni.” Jaroslav said, he pronounced them both with a 'ya' like accent. “You are wanted for murder, vandalizing, and robbery of a important jewel popping company, no, Krásny?” He stated more than asked, all this running was going to ruin his nice shoes, though he'd let her fatigue form play as it may.

"....No I am wanted because I slipped in the man's blood and his prestigious family won't listen to reason." She answer in a rather bland tone. There was no emotion to it, even though one would think she was at least have some form of hatred for the people. She never really spoke in the first place so it was difficult for her to put emotions into words that she viewed to have no value. She looked down, rolling her eyes. This man was not very good at hiding himself. He stood out like a sore thumb with his outfit couples with shoes that made noise. She frowned a little, not liking that he seemed to keep up with her rather well.

Her body wanted nothing more than to find itself a fire or something warm to curl into, to regain it's natural heat level, but she could not allow herself such comfort while people wished to sentence her for a crime she did not commit. Her sensitive had picked up on the accent it sounded strange to her ears, but she ignored it. She looked down before she stopped running. She swayed a little before she leapt nimbly to another tree and ran in the opposite direction all.

"Krány....probably a fowl name in his native tongue..." She muttered to herself as she continued to run, wanting nothing more than to escape. She wouldn't be caught. It wasn't fair! She didn't do anything yet she was being blamed for it! She did not even have the weapon that killed the man! They claimed she clawed him to death, but the marking were to far apart to be claws!

Black Orchid

He tsk as he stopped on a dime and turned with her, he was reading her like a book, he was always an advent reader as he could see her moves in his head—that was an ability he could be proud of—he had the strength and the agility of a highly in shape male, but all that was enhanced with his rapid thinking skills, he could easily tell his opponent's movement, it also sort of helped helped that she was tired on top of all things.

“Well, then stop running like a criminal, and come down from the tree, Mača. We can continue this like a civilized bunch.” He said, no emotion giving of if he believed her or not, just eerily pleasant smiles and a calm tone.

“I have done nothing to prove myself as a threat, and you run as if I am a monster.” He had to smile at that one, laughter entering his voice.

He would jump into the trees and run beside her, but perching in the offending plant the first time nearly chaffed his suit up good, so unless she tired soon, he'd have to use her ransom on a new suit!

Artemis stopped on one branch and stared down at him, her ruby eyes and her skin glowing in the night. It was natural for her to do so. She did not trust a man who ran around in a suit in a forest. That just screamed suspicious in her mind. Her tail wrapped around the branch to secure her a little better. She watched him blankly.

"....I fear I just might break my pristine record of none violence on you if you continue to call me names in a foreign tongue." She said blandly. She had been taught early on the violence never solved anything, nor did using emotions. Fear came on instinct now that she was on the run, but the rest of her emotions she would dwell on later. Now she had to figure out how to lose this man or else she would end up losing her life or worse yet her freedom.

"....you look like a monster in those dreadful colors, you chase after me like one, and you follow me like a jungle cat...should I really....stop and grant you common curtsies and civility when I am being hunted?" She raised a brow at him, offering him one chance to explain why he deemed it fit to ask such things of her when she wanted nothing more than to be free of him and other like him. Her eyes narrowed and her ears were erect, listening for any moment he might do in her direction.

Black Orchid

He stopped running as well and began to breath heavy, he wasn't tired, but he wanted to make a point that he wanted to stop all the running. “I wouldn't really call the colors 'dreadful'... at least I thought the colors were a good match.” He mumbled the last in good humor.

“Besides, I wouldn't be chasing you—getting my fine suit dirty, might I add—if you hadn't run off, I wouldn't have chased.” He then jumped up on the branch and got real close to her, breaching all personal space. “I had purposely sought you out, and you have rudely left without knowing my intentions, so naturally, you run, I chase; pretty lady.” He said, flicking at her ears. He didn't make no move to rebuke her 'monster' comment.

He then began to laugh, “You did not do it—this I know.” He said suddenly, “Now come from this tree, unless you make me use force on a woman.” He said, oddly no hint of humor this time, she was cold, this he knew too, and that worked in every bit a favor for him, he had to admit he was just toying with her now, she wasn't in a good state of mind right now, and if she kept running, she'd collapse.

Artemis raised a brow when he seemed to pant heavily, but she did not let down her guard at all. Which was good for when he finished telling her that is was basically her fault for running from him, which was utterly ridiculous in her mind because she wouldn't have run her life wasn't in peril, he jumped on to the branch. She pressed herself quickly into the trunk of the tree, but that only seemed to bring him close as he invaded her personal space. She began to pant shallowly. He was much to close. She felt trapped and she wanted to run free.

Her heart hammer wildly, adrenaline pumping through her veins more quickly. She dug her nails into the trunk of the tree as her claws extended when his fingers flicked at her ears. They flatted and burrowed back into her mane of hair. Her eyes darkened a little when he threatened to use force to get her from the tree. The wind sent a reminded of the water that still was in her mane, still causing her temperature to be lower than normal, normal for her, not humans. She did not trust him to get down, she was safer in the tree, it gave her more route to escape...well it did if she was not trapped between the Yaroslav Jeovonni, the tree trunk and the fact her body was fighting to get her temperature back to normal as well as pumping adrenaline through her veins. She licked her bottom lip with her tiny pink tongue before she spoke.

".....no....I....don't care that you know....of my innocence....I just want you to be gone...." She stared at him before she looked around at where she had run. Thankfully they were just deeper into the dense forest.

Black Orchid

He smirked softly and tilted his head to the side, “So you don't wish to take me up on my offer to get this bounty off your head, huh?” He said, starting as if he stated that from the begining. “I have a solutions to stop this frightful life of running, that at this point, is entirely your fault if you don't hear me out.” He said, walking over to the edge of the branch and sitting down, his back towards her. “I mean... you could keep running, having men and even a few women chasing after you—hell, sure, sounds like a party to me!” He said, it was sarcastic, but he said it so casually it sound as if he was serious. He dug into his waist pocket and pulled out a fancy cigarette, it was black with a silver filter; he lifted his finger—oddly the same one he had flicked her ear with—and touched the tip, lighting it instantly.

He took his time inhaling and blowing out the smoke, “What's left to lose? I could easily turn you in with the state your in now, but I didn't, I could also go back and get those hunters to come and finish you off—but I wont.” He left the cigarette in his mouth and held his stark white hands up, wiggling his fingers to show he wasn't reaching any where; his back was still towards her.

She frowned when he commented about taking the bounty off her head. She...did not know what he meant nor how it was possible to get the bounty off her head without turning her in. His clothes reeked of the desire for nice things. Money from her bounty would get him plenty of those things. She watched him sit away from her, turning his back on her. She jumped instantly to a higher branch. She would have jumped again if only her shivering didn't come back full bore. She laid on the branch and held it for a moment, listening to his sarcastic comment about her running.

"....like trusting you would be a smart thing to do. For....all I know....you are...just trying to wait me out..." She stared down at him, watching him wiggle his fingers. in the air. Her body jerked with spasms a little more. She hated arctic water. It was bitter cold and at night it wouldn't rise in temperature for a long time. She sighed softly, still keeping her eyes on him as she laid down on the tree branch above him, her tail wrapping around the branch.

"....tell me....what you want...." She said in a soft...breathless voice. She didn't have enough time to argue with the man or bother trying to run again. She knew her body well enough to know that if she tried to run and if she lost him, she would be very vulnerable to other hunters. Her eyes fell to half mass, watching him.

Black Orchid

“Ah, I want a lot of things” He said, finishing his smoke and pulling out a case to place it in. “It's more of what you want, you have more than just a bounty, and you could help give it to me.” He said, standing and dusting his slacks off. He looked up at her and inwardly smiled at her faint look.

“Do you really prefer to sleep in a tree? I thought the ears and tails was really just for show.” Jaroslav said. Making no attempt to climb up to her, he then jumped further down to the ground. “Hey, here's a thought—sleep on it, and I'll come back for some answers.” He knew she was well used today, something had worn her out, and it had to be the water he saw the men with.

He then began to saunter off slowly, walking in a random directions as his hands was stuffed in his pockets. He felt it when he touched her, she would do nicely, just nicely indeed...

Artemis was confused as to what he wanted her to give to him. She had no plans on giving much of anything to him, not until she knew what he was after. She watched him carefully before she scoffed a little bit. Her fluffy tail twitched a bit. She was not a damn cat! She eyed him as he saunter off in some direction. She watched him leave before she leapt down gracefully and stumbled off in a different direction.

She found a massive tree with a large whole at the base of the tree. It was perfect in her eyes. She crawled into the whole and fell into the tiny whole that was there. She nuzzled into the earth, taking some of the heat from the soil. She wrapped her tail around her and slept silently. Her ear peeked out, always on alert for anything that moved or even twitched wrong.

Once the sun rose, she would come out, but until that happened she would get as much sleep as she needed. She knew that once the sun was out, she would be back to normal, but to being hot and ready for another day of hiding and running....oh joy....

Jaroslav crept a little further before he stopped, he then threw off his jacket to reveal a whole new outfit; he was equipped with a top hat this time—his old red jacket folding into itself behind him—he was now wearing a more night time friendly atire, it was pure black, with a deep crimson ascot tie, white of his skin the only light contrast to the night. It was drastically the same as the old, but less starchy, with less squeaky shoes. He then turned around and pulled out a scepter that was merely a stick with a crystal ball on it, he then began his trek forward back to the sleeping demon, he was more than silent as he seemed to hover just above the crunchy grass. He saw the burrow and couldn't help but make a witty comment in his head as he looked down at her—it wouldn't be this easy if she wasn't so tired—he didn't know when she'd get her power back, so it was no time like the present. The orb began to glow as he mumbled a few words in Latin, mixed with his native tongue—Slovakian.

[[I am all for it. ^.^]]

Her ears twitched a moment as if her instincts sensed something, but she slept on. She was just relaxed and tired from the long day. Her tail curled around her a little more as she shifted and nuzzled her fluffy tail, enjoying it's feel. She loved her tail more than anything because it fluffy and soft. She murred and purred softly in her sleep as her red marking glowed softly, signaling that her powers were slowly trying the heat up her body a little more.

Black Orchid

Jaroslav stepped back some when she moved, and shook the scepter pretty roughly, the marble white stone began to swirl as the color faded like mist, in it was a little yellow fairy; she had dragon fly wings, two layers of solid orange bug eyes (one set on top of the other) and a tiny ballerina like form, only a pattern of white daisies covered her form now. She looked a little rattled from the shaking, but recovered from it as she opened her mouth to speak. Jaroslav 'shushed' her, but since he couldn't really make the sound, he just placed his finger to his lips and shook her roughly again. That, she was a little peeved at, so she opened her mouth again, but another rough shaking shut her up.

She huffed, accidentally letting out a little jingle, but she raised her hands and a yellow light began to form around their target; a little minx in a burrow. It wrapped around the sleeping girl to cushion any sense of movement, it was actually warm, for it was a ball of energy. The fairy raised her hands higher and the form, her energy wrapped around, raised with it. Jaroslav and the fairy shared a look, though his was of delight, and her's of confusion at the strange demon in front of her, but there eyes connected in a knowing like matter, so who cares about the technicalities.

The sleeping demon was cloaked as he began to saunter out of the forest, and out of this town. It took a fare share of walking and the sun was nearly up until they made it to his castle, it was fairly modest—hell, who was he kidding—it was extravagant! It wasn't huge, but it was large, and that's how he liked it. The fair in his scepter began to pant so he moved faster into the home, up a few stairs and down a few hallways, a twist around a corner, and he was at his destination. Now this room was really bare, it had a large bed, a dresser, another room holding the bathing quarters, but the sheets was a plain white and so was the walls.

The fairy sighed and lowered the girl, pretty roughly, onto the bed, she then turned to give Jaroslav a good tongue lashing, jingles and chimes flying with her tiny words. He just laughed and shook the scepter again, but this time the tiny fairy fell from it. The crystal ball now looked like cheep glass as he walked out of the room. The fairy wasn't done with her fit as she flew over to the sleeping demon, she sat on her chest; oh she had the nerve to tug on her hair! But she resisted as she began to brush at her own golden lochs.

Artemis' ear rotated in the direction in which the jiggle came from, her tail bristling a litte and a soft growl escaped the sleeping form. But the growling eventually died down once the warmth from the energy could be felt. The red marking glowed stronger but not brighter. She remained sleeping for most of the trip, shifting only a couple of times.

Soon, as the sun began to rise hiher in the sky, Artemis stirred more. The sun was like a siren's song to Artemis. She could not help but be awakened by it. It was strange for she awoke to the rising sun even when she could not see it, she always had. Her mind jerked awake as she hit the bex, yet t took her body a momentto catch up with her mind. Her ears jerked to the jiggling and chiming, her body jerking up right. She looked at the man and instantly was out of the bed and crouhed down, the fluffy tail now bristling. Her eyes glowed as she looked around, taking in the stark plain room. Her eye fell to the retreating form then the fairy who she had jarred her awake. Her claws extended as she walked with a strange grace. Her tail sway slowly as she stared at the fairy.

".....I could use a new toy to play with..." her claws flewed at her words. She couldn't believe she was stupid enouh to have fallen asleep. Now she was not in the forest and she didn't fell safe at all. Running would be stupid until she found ou where she was. Which the fairy could cough up for her. She debated on what she was going to do as she stared at the fairy.

Black Orchid

The fairy jumped at the sound of the demon—she wasn't supposed to be woke right now—leave it to Jaroslav to not cast a sleeping spell on her, she shivered at her flexing claws; she was a feral murdering demon, she knew this was a bad idea!

“Well, aren't you the 'special' one.” She chimed out with unhidden jealousy. But she made sure to stay way of the new girl's claws. “I'm Bozidara,” She introduced, a ring in her voice, “Your the new one, you have to listen to us now.” She said, crossing her arms haughtily.

Artemis' rage spiked when the fairy had the audasity to tell her she had to obey. She was no one pet and she would not obey anyone! She snarled as her red marking began to glow brigtly as the heat and humidty of the room spike considerably and steadly began to grow. She moved closer to the fairy, her ears erect and her tail no longer swayed.

"I obey no one. You pathetic jealousy is unwarnted for I will be leaving." her tone did not match her emotions. Her voice was bland and monotonous. She cracked her knuckles as she flexed her claws.

"Now point me out before I do bloody my hand just like everyone thinks I did"

Black Orchid

Bozidara gasp as the minx glowed at her, she could feel the heat of her power and her jealousy spiked again. She didn't care of the girls threats as she was to fumbled over the 'unfortunate' situation.

“Don't get so whiny; fine, leave—I don't want you here.” She said, fanning a hand at her, but she was keeping her distance, “The exit is down the hall, to the right, take the—”

Jaroslav wont be to please with this, Bozidara...” Another voice chimed.  A blue glow slipped into the room as a similar fairy entered the room, she had much shorter hair that looked like bubbles, they were so curly, her eyes was white, and she had a more slender face then Bozidara's round one. She had drapes of silk around her body, it look like water as she flew over.

So you better hold that tongue of yous, Bozidara, it's not like you could match her fire.” Another, more spirited jingle chimed in—her voice was mocking. It, too, was another fairy, though she had a green glow about her, her hair in a bob, golden leaves made a body suit for her.

You should really listen to your own advice...” Bozidara growled at the green fairy, her anger rising as she went to glare at her; the green fairy didn't seem fazed as she stood her ground.

Please don't mind Bozidara, she only have... our safety in mind, and word is your very dangerous.” The blue fairy said, pointing to her red markings, “Though we know your innocent!” She added quickly, raising her hands in defense, “And we want to help you clear your name.” She said suddenly, giving a reassuring smile. “Though as you might know, there is a cache.” She waited, seeing if the demon was interested.

Artemis stared at the other fairies that appeared, her eyes cold. Her mind listened to their words but did not process them. Instead she was thinking about what the orginal fairy had said. Down the hall and take a right from there she could figure it out for herself. She looked at the fairy who commented on her innocence. A price for proving she was innocence? To her it was like puttig a price on breathing. She waved them off as she headed out of the room. She was not curious about those fairie, she was solely focused on. Escaping and....wait.

She paused, looking back into the room. That name...

"jaroslav....sound like yaroslav...."she muttered as she turned back to the door and headed out into the hallway. She had a alight frown on her lips. Could that strange man really have fought her here... And idiot so for what purpose...

Black Orchid

“No wait...!” The blue fairy started, but she was tackled by the now fighting yellow and green orbs.

Jaroslav stood in a dark room—it was actually a dark room, the red light swinging from the top of the ceiling as he held paper talismans in a batch of unknown liquids. He could feel the commotions in his house, it was his house, after all, so every bit of magic used he could feel it and know where it was coming from. He wasn't stupid, he knew Bozidara was taking this the hardest, ever since he first told her of the plan—she had practically spit flames that day—no, but if she did, then all of this would be resolved. He heard his recent little hunt out burst of her own powers, it racked joy through his body to even have her under the same roof as him. He just hoped she made nice with the rest of his girls, it was no changing it now—she was going to accept her fate and agree to his terms—and he already had a feud in his home, he didn't need two more.

He pulled the soaking papers from the purple liquid and hung them up to dry as if they were a piece of clothing. Jaroslav moved from the the dark room and up into the house foyer, he then moved about up the stairs, to the left, past a second hallway, though one door, and right down the hall—that was the best thing about his house—every direction kept changing, and unless one was in tune with the magic of the house, they'd never know where they'd end up. He entered one living room, and then bend down, dusted off his now gold and white suit, he didn't have to worry about his hat falling of as he didn't ware one! He was now adorn with a silver monocle, passing by a jeweled mirror, he then fixed silver ascot tie and walked out of that room into a hallway.

He saw the little minx walking in front of him, he was behind her, and only waited until she notice him, which would be soon seeing as his brand new shoes clicked and squeaked.

Artemis's power were still pushed outward, creating a barrior of heat around her. Her ears twitched on her head as the sound of a commotion in the room she just left pierced her swnstive ear. She sighed to herself as she. Continued to walk down the hall. She didn't get to far before she heard the all telling squeak of new shoes. She stopped in her tracks, her ear flipping backwards as her tail stod erect to her side.

"...whyso you wear such shoes if they are going to give away your position...." it was a rhetorical question for her looked over her shoulder. It could be sen as a seductive look if only for the fact her eyes held distaste instead of interest. She looked him up and down notin his attire. No one red and purple monster, she thought plainly.

He blinked as if he's just saw her, “What a coincidence meeting you here.” He said shocked, though they were practically still outside the bedroom he dropped her off at. “Squeaky shoes is a sign that they're in good condition; they stop squeaking—I get new shoes.” He said in a matter of fact tone.

“Where are you headed?” He asked, bringing his eyes down from the tip of her ears to her stiff tail, he made no pains to hide that he was checking her out; though was it her body, or powers he was sizing up was unknown.

She turned to face him, not liking having her backto him for to long. She did not know whether to call his theatics on whether or not he has known she was there or to just accept he had a lot on his mind and hadn't known she was planning on escaping. She went with the latter since she had no real proof to support her hunch. She looked down at his shoes as if sizing them up. She return to stare into his silver colored eyes. She looked bored yet her constantly moving ears gave away the fact she was on edge.

She considered his question, tryin to determine if ling would get her any where. Instead she decided to play a different way. She would not lie but she would not just hand him an answer either.

"You know exactly where I  going, however if you can not tell already.... I am going down the hall...rather I am walking down it" with that she turned and walked on down the hall.

Black Orchid

He saw the little quirks she did with her limbs—her tail and ears—he wonder what insight it gave into her mind, what made her react like that, and what every flick or directions of those part meant on her feelings.

“I see.” Jaroslav said, picking up his pace and slowing down to walk beside her, “But why are you heading that way?” He kept it up, he seriously wanted to know where she was going, or at least where she thought she was going; because, it being his house, he was the more knowledgeable here, and it was only three other things in that direction at this current time, none of which she should be wanting to head off to.

"I do indeed know where your headed, but do you?" He asked, looking over at her.

Artemis looked at him as he walked beside her her mind racing as to how she was going to get out of this place with him following her. Her ears burrowed back into her mane of hair as she turned right when the first avliable right came up. She did not want to answer his question yet she felt frustrated with him, her tail jerking once in agitation.

"I am leaving. I am heading this way because the little fairy, Bozidara I do believe her name was, said that in order to leave I must go down this hall and make a right then take the stairs down." She said blandly, filling in the last part herself. She figured she was not on a first story but if she was there would likely be a door in which she could exit from.

Black Orchid

He nodded his head, adding in little 'yeah's and 'uh-huh's, “Yes, 'take the stairs down' right into my closet.” He said the 'take the stairs down' part with her and continued the rest. “Either my little Bozidara is a comedian, or she was trying to send you to two other places; 'the first only door to the left' or 'the stairs up'.” He said actually pausing in confusion.

Jaroslav then blinked as his lips bloomed into a mirth filled smile, “The first door is into my newly bred ten feet tall ligers; the stairs up is my bedchambers.” He knew his Bozidara well, she was probably sending her into a room full of mixed lion tigers. “Are you trying to visit me in my chambers, little kitten?” He asked, slinking over to her and blowing at her flatten ears.

Artemis frowned when he continued where she left off. His closet..? Why in heavens name would that stupid fairy send her to the man closet? When he continued to speak her mind narrowed in on one thing. Newly Bred Ligers. The heat around her spike quickly and her eyes darkened to a maroon color, borderline violet. If the floor and walls could be scorched they would be. If he had no way of combating extreme heat he would feel it. The temperature was enough to melt crayons in a instant and plastic bottles in a few moments. Yet she did not look like she felt it at all, for she didn't. That little fairy would not send her to his bedchambers....of that she was sure.

Her ears suddenly jerked when he blow on her ear. She felt her body heat, the type she could acknowledge, spike on her face, causing a slight blush to appear. Her ear were sensitive to touch and wind blowings. She turn on her heels, her claws turning a nice red color. Like pokers left in the fire too long. She was going to do what the fairy wanted the liger to do to her; rip her to pieces.

"I will never go to your bed chambers...." She muttered as she raced back down the hall to the room. She was going to get that tempestuous fairy for trying to kill her. Screw her innocence, that fairy was going down. Yet....through all of this the only thing that gave away what she was going to do where her claws, the heat, and her tail jerking around tensely.

Black Orchid

It was his turn to shiver as he grinned at her, he loved feeling her fire, it was a great adrenaline, he was slightly distracted, or probably didn't care, as the demon extracted her claws and charged back towards the room. The blue and green fairies felt it first as the heat irritably warm their body, Bozidara didn't notice the temperature change as she continued to tug on the green fairies hair.

Heads up, Bozidara." The green fairy said as she laughed at the tugging.

Bozidara was confused at the... pun maybe? As she too was having her hair pulled by the green sprite; but the green sprite was tugging her to the ceiling as the demon suddenly appeared in the room door way. The Blue sprite flew down to try and stop the raving woman.

Please, calm down!" She said but she was shaking too, she was to tiny to really do anything.

Artemis stared at the green and yellow faeries that were locked together by hair pulling. Her eyes looked at the blue fairy before she snapped at the girl, slamming her fangs together in warning. She did not want to hear any 'calm down' or crap like that. She was stressed to the hilt with worrying about what she was going to do with the rest of her destroyed life, had people hunting her for no true reason other than the need for money, she was a wanted woman and on top of all of that she was in a strange environment with strange people! Needless to say she was not int he right mood for jokes, especially if they ended up with her dying. She worked to damn hard to be killed because of some jealous little whisp of a fairy.

Her tail batted away at the blue fairy as she crouch and pounced to the yellow fairy. She had made no other noise then snapping her teeth at the blue fairy. She wanted to grab that fairy and land on her, hopefully breaking her tiny little body, and that required stealth. She really did not want to be chasing the stupid chit around.

Black Orchid

The blue fairy shrieked as the demon snapped at her, she sunk to the floor in a faint. The green fairy was trying to get Bozidara's attention. Bozidara gave in to the turning of her head and she looked to see the feral demon. She cried out and released the green fairy as she swooped down to try and avoid the pouncing woman.

“Jaroslav!” She cried out in terror as she now noticed the demon's heat.

He wasn't one to poke around in women squabbles, but it was more important things at hand than the annoying chimes of a fairy and the angered snapping of a... fox... wolf... mammal. He squeaked back to the room, picking up his pace once he heard Bozidara's cry.

“Easy now.” He said, trying to get the demon's attention.

Artemis smirked when the fairy did a small dive downward. As she moved over the girl, her tail flicked at the fairy. If her tail did not hit her than the wind created by her tail's flicking motion would certainly jar the tiny creature enough for her to have another go at the girl. She landed gracefully on her hands and feet before she turned and moved to pounce again only to stop when Jaroslav entered the room and told her to be easy. Her tail bristled as she stood, storming to the man, smacking at the fairy roughly, in the hopes of knocking the fairy firmly on the floor.

"....I am not some pet for you to tell me easy. I am not a dog, nor will I allow you to treat me as such." She still had a monotonous tone even though everything about her screamed rage and anger. The heat around her was growing each moment she grew more angry. Like he wanted, he had her attention. Whether or not he liked it was another story.

Black Orchid

Bozidara fell to the floor, she huffed as the air was knocked out of her. She cursed as she bit her tongue from the impact.

“Well then, stop behaving like one; I mean—” he pulled out the wanted poster with her sketched picture on it, “—your starting to look more like this.” He laughed, but decided to get serious. “I'm sure you want to stop all this running, and I want... You want that bounty off, right?” He said, crossing his arms lazily as he leaned on the door frame. "You really do have nothing else to lose—no harm would come to you, I promise—unless you want to be caught.

He knew the fatigue trick wouldn't work on her now, especially in the morning like this, so he pulled out his best card in this current deck. “Plus this is a big house, non-normal house; as you know, the hallways change every five minutes—even I get lost some times.” He said, not hinting on if he was joking or not. “While your running around trying to figure out the effort in this grand house—” Okay, now he was gloating, “—Then your free to do so, and I'll just call the authorities, find you, and collect the earnings.” Both was really a win/win for him, she could either help him out with what he wanted, or he could get paid off her bounty. “So, unless your a better magician than me, you'll be setting up your future here.” He said, letting her pick her choice.

Yeah it was a little unfair that he placed her in such slim options, but that was all technicalities, technicalities indeed, no, no wait, he was pretty selfish.

Artemis hated being out of control and he was only making it worse. She touched the paper, burning it completely into ashes in a matter of miliseconds. She turned to look at him, her rage unadulterated in her eyes. They were now a strange purple color. She wrapped her tail around her waist, her ear vanishing into the mane of her hair, burrowing uunder her hair to hide. She stared at him blankly.

"....you are after what from me that you have gone throguh such length to capture me...." She asked in a plain tone, her eyes had yet to change colors and her claws had grown black.

He watched her little quirks, they entertained him greatly, “Your so cute.” He said, walking over to the side of her and picking up the two unconscious fairies. He turned to her and shook his hand like he was trying to flick them off, and they disappeared, he showed his hand to her with an astonished look, like magicians did to their audience.

“I want your fire.” He said suddenly, bending one finger in a 'come over here' fashion to the green fairy, as she floated down to him, he raised both his hands and clamped them around her as if he was clapping, he then opened them again and showed the female demon his hands. “Now I hope you'd stop asking so many questions and listen.” He said.

“The only real way to get that bounty off your head is to change your image and persona.” He said, looking at her, “Or, turning yourself in, that's one way too.” He said walking over to her. “Your appearance is very convincing, even with the horribly drawn picture—that let me tell you, does not flatter—” He said, going off topic and checking her out again. “—So, do you have the,” He wiggled his fingers in front her face, “magic, to conceal the extremities?” He asked, still wiggling his fingers.

"You want me to kill me basically." She said in a plain voice. He wanted what she could not truly give him without removing a significant part of her that would leave her unable to live and survive. To change who she was in appearance was something she never considered or even wanted to think about. He was asking something of her that was nearly impossible for her to do or even consider.

"I can not give you something that is so much a part of me as my fire. I will have to take my chances with being captured." She turned and walked away, her tail wagging behind her. She had no real choice in the matter. She could give him her fire and die....or she could risk the authorities and plan to escape from them. If she did not have to give it to him she might consider it.

Black Orchid

He sputtered at her accusations, and was a little slow in chasing after her, “No, no you have it all wrong—I don't want to kill you.” He said, appalled at such a thought. “I just need... you around, look, stop jumping to conclusions!” He said, trying to get her to stop walking.

“Let's talk about happier things—your dead to this town—you need to cut your hair, and lose a few ears and that tail.” He said, showing her his suggestions. He even cringed at the thought of cutting her hair, but they needed to move a great distance, maybe three towns over, and they'd be fine--it'll grow back! Her bounty was pretty minor, other towns wouldn't be so passionate about her killing another village's inhabitant, especially if it was just one.

Artemis slowly and looked over her shoulder at him. So he wanted to keep her near him to utilize her power. Now that was a different story. She had thought he sought to take it from her to have it himself. Well, inadvertently, he would have it, just she would keep it. She stared at him, wondering why he did not put it that way in the first place. She cringed at the thought of cutting her hair off. She loved her hair. It was a mane of beauty to her. It was fluffy and wild and well...she really liked it. She frowned for a moment before she blinked as an idea caught her.

"What day is it? Season...it was turning from winter to spring right?" That would make sense because arctic water was hard to get other wise. If they were still in winter but entering spring then that would lessen her worry about her hair. She could cut it however she wanted to but  once they were firmly in spring, her hair would grow back quickly. She tended to get a few feet cut off during that time. It was like shedding. Her thick mane  turned into loose, lighter creamy curls during the spring and summer. It was natural for her to do.

"If so then cutting my hair would not bother me for it will grow back in loose curls come spring. My ear and tail I will have a problem loosing...or are you merely going to hide the...make them vanish like you made your silly little fairies vanish..." She eyed this man carefully...wondering what kind of man only had tiny fairies around him. She wondered if he had a male partner some where. It certainly would explain the flamboyant attire when she first met him.

She smiled to herself, the first smile in a long time. She remembered her best friend. He was a character in deed, he always wore flamboyant colors. She remembered fondly his wedding and how happy he was with his partner. She felt a ping of regret...she would never have that now. She let out a soft sigh and once again he mask was on. She watched the man carefully, waiting his answer.

Black Orchid

“It is, it is!” He said happily, he would have agreed anyways at the thought that she'd do it, but it made him more at ease that she'd get her lovely hair back. “Ah, yes.” He said, agreeing with her, that was what he planned to do, “But not like the fairies...” he mumbled to himself. “Uh, may I?” He asked, gesturing to her ears,  he normally didn't care about invading peoples space, but she was relaxed now, he saw the fleeting smile, he wanted to keep her in that state.

Artemis watched him agree in a very excited tone. She couldn't help but blink. This man was very strange indeed. Then again she had given him what he wanted in a way, so it made sense for him to be happy. She shifted a bit before she nodded slowly when he made a motion to her ears. They twitched as did her tail, anticipating what he would do. She was very unsure of what he was going to do or if it was reversible, but at this point he hadn't lied to her that she knew about. He might have taken a few too many liberties to get what he wanted, like bringing her to this place without her permission, but other than that...she knew of no lies.

"......sure....just...don't....meh....they are sensitive so be nice to them." She mumbled, not liking it when people touched them sometimes. People had a tendency to be rough with her ears as if they wanted to rub them off her head. It was never a pleasant experience.

Black Orchid

“The up most gentle gentlemen.” He said, reaching his hands up and placing them on one set of her ears, he push them down and patted them as they disappeared like the green fairy, he then did the same to the other set, all until she had no more ears left.

“Now... ah hem.” He said, pointing to her tail, “Turn around...” He said, but he couldn't help the sly smirk that crawled over his face.

Artemis jumped a little when he patted her head. She felt him do it on each ear. She whined softly, not likely that they were hidden from sight. She couldn't really feel them but she could still hear at the same quality she had before. Now when he asked her to turn around the problem arose. Her tail was more sensitive than her ears and in a very different way. She saw that smirk and she fought the urge to run. No one had ever touch her tail. One person tried and she had freaked out. It was not something she wanted touch because when she touched it she grew flush and hot. Not something she wanted happening when he touched it! She glared at him before she turned around a bit.

"Watch the hands....Any funny business....and I will claw your eyes out Magician Man" She muttered softly, watching him over her shoulder. Her tail was stiff, and jerky...trying to avoid his hands at all cost.

Black Orchid

Jaroslav smiled innocently as he bent down, he then moved his hands trying to fallow the restless tail, when he was able to he grabbed it and held it firmly, once in a nice hold, he loosen into a gentle grip. He clamped down on it with his left hand, placed his right hand a level up, above his left, and clamped down again, both spots of her tail disappearing; he did that all the way to the hilt, he then patted the spot on her lower back, and stood.

“Aw, don't look that way—it makes me feel guilty.” He said, lifting his hands that now held scissors in them.

Artemis felt her face grow hot when he grabed her tail, a natural reaction. She let out a soft purr as he went along her tail, making it vanish. She knew that she looked much more human now withot her ears and tail and hated it. She turned when he finished and lept backwards when she saw the siscors in his hands. She really wanted to do it herself!

"...May I do my own hair please?" she asked, her eyes staring at the blades.

Black Orchid

He looked at her oddly—he really wanted to do it—it gave him an excuse to touch her hair. “Yes, yes. It's the least I could do; it'll clear my conscience.” He said, handing them to her.

He watched her to see what she did with it, “Since we're being honest here, I guess I could tell you that I could have just,” He snapped his fingers and the sheets on the bed disappeared. “but I'm a hands on type of guy.” He said, raising his hands and doing a grabby motion.

Artemis took the siscors and tossed them to the ground, having no real plans on using them. She bent over, flinging her hair infront of her, and ran her finger through her hair of hair. It was thick and a little bit longer then waist length. She paused and looked up at him with a raised brow upon seeig the grabbing hands. She gathered her hair into a both hands.

"then use them and hold just where my hands are." she said, knowing her would do so. Once he did she ran her sharp claws from the edge the mane, a tad hit more than shoulder length before she walked backward as she ran her claws forward. This way her hair was naturally layered and without stray pieces of hair to deal with. She righted herself and shook out her hair, comin through it with her now dull claws. She sighed morosely at the shortness, it had gotten shorter as the curls began to form.

Black Orchid

With out a second thought, Jaroslav pocketed the hair into his seemingly infinity waist pocket, he then began to walk forward and out of the room as he waved her over to come with him. “We can't stay here, now can we?” He said leading her down the halls and up the stairs onto the bottom floor, it might feel a little confusing seeing as they were indeed on the top floor, but minutes has past, and now the stairs up was the way down.

“We must make haste and hop over to a few unfamiliar towns.” He said, leading her out of the house and into the vast forest that perched on the edge of her home town. If she could remember, she'd know that it was only a short ways from where they had 'ran' into each other.

Artemis watched him pocket the hair and couldn't help but raise a brow. This man was just gettin stranger by the moment but that dis not matter right now for he motioned for her to follow him. She couldn't help but mutter something as she walked behind him. She was still unsure about this man but for now she focused on where they were going. She stopped at the bottom of the stairs, watching him go up.

Didn't that lead to his bedroom? She bought for a moment what he had told her about the house and it's ability to change. They ha been in the room for a little bt longer than five minutes so she assumed that meant the stair led else where now. She raced up the stair, not wanting to lose him. She folowed him outside and couldn't help but feel the urge to run. She wanted to but the reality of the matter was that he would likely make her appear normal again and she knew hat her villager had artic water still. She shivered at the memory of her body being doused in it.

She kept up with him but move a little slower, soakig up the sun's Ray. Her making became more vibrant in color and more pronounced on her skin unlike the pale red they had been last night. Her hair even seemed to gain more color and vibrance, becoming a richer cream color.

Black Orchid

As they began to walk, the house began to disappear—literally vanish—not because of their distance. Jaroslav seemed more vibrant now, no longer needing his magic to keep the allusion up. He began to lead them out of the forest and to just barren grassy plains and fields.

“So, since I'm helping you, are you going to help me?” He asked, noticing that she had yet to voice if she truly would agree with his terms. He also notice that they were coming up on another sister village.

"if you gave me more specifics as to what you need me for I will agree to those terms. Because helping him could very well take years or eternity or mere seconds. She was all about fair trade but a trade made known before hand.

Black Orchid

“As you know, I like elements—each fairy has an element of their own.” Jaroslav started, “Abhra—the blue one—controls water and ice. Georgeann, the green, is earth and wind.” He said, he then turned to walk backwards as he stared in her eyes.

“Bozidara is fire... well, I thought she was.” Jaroslav told, “Turns out she's just energy—can't even spark a tiny flame.” He said, “They lend me their power, and I use it whenever I please.” He admit it, “Not like I have anything special in mind. You could call me... a collector—I collect magic—elements is a favorite of mine.” He nodded, to see if she understood. “So, what do you say, will you lend me your power?” He asked, still walking backwards towards the approaching town.

Artemis bristled a little when he basically said he wanted to add her to his collection. She racked her fingers through her curls slowly as she considered what that all meant. Did she have to live with him in that crazy house or could she live near by? Did she have to be like some kind of lap dog that did whatever he asked? She shook her head and sighed softly.

"I will not be your pet. Nor should you expect me to act in a way you see fit. I will lend you my powers when you need them... though I expect you and I to sit down extremely soon a hash out exactly what you expect..." She said softly, not really sure if she should really be agreeing. But magic for magic in her mind. He did three things for her so far, so three things is what he would get from her. If he wanted more he would have to trade for more... She sighed softly. She felt like she had gotten herself in a very strange situation indeed. Everything was relative in her mind. She whined to herself softly.

"I feel like I just lost my chance at a normal life..."

Black Orchid

Jaroslav waved her off as he turned back around and went up to the front of the city, “Now try not to act like a... well, uhm.” He didn't know if he should say it, “Like a rabid wolf/fox—because this is just the second town over, and your 'picture' is probably planted all over this place too.” He said quickly, trying to walk ahead of her to avoid her reaction. “I'm too tired to make another portal to my home, plus I'd think it pretty unnecessary when we have hotels right here.” He said, gesturing to the large building they were now walking up to. It wasn't the nicest of hotels he's saw, but it was a small town, so what else did he expect.

He entered the building, and asked for a room, he already knew how much it coast without asking, but it was always pleasant to pretend you didn't. He paid the woman at the counter and turned back to the demon behind him and gave her the 'A-OK' symbol, and went up the stairs to their room. He lead her to the room and opened the door to a modest normal one bed room, with a little couch and table, a door to a most likely bathroom—the large window was nice!

“We've arrived, princess.” He said, going over to the couch and sitting down—back straight—he then reached in his pocket and pulled out Abhra, Georgeann, and, lastly, a peeved Bozidara. “You know, I didn't catch your name—can't keep calling you 'kitten' now can I?” He asked, pulling out his glass scepter and a handkerchief to shine it.

Or 'demon'.” Georgeann piped in, stretching out her legs as she sat on the small calf height table.

Or 'mammal'.” Abhra added too, smoothing out her silk.

Or 'rabid monster'.” Bozidara added, crossing her arms angrily as she floated over to Jaroslav and rested on his shoulder.

Artemis rolled her eyes to the sky when he told her not to act like a rabid fox/wolf. She rather detested the fact that he overlooked the fact his stupid fairy tried to get her killed. But of course, she expected something like that. She mentally wanted to kick the man really hard in a really sensitive place but for now she would just relax

She followed him into the hotel, ignoring the woman completely and just following him silently. She looked around the room and watched him carefully sit down and pull the fairies out of his pocket. She rolled her eyes and walked passed the table, smirking at Georgeann.

"Want another fainting session pipsqueak? Or a fat lip" She asked as her eyes narrowed in Bozidara's direction. She walked and sat on the window seal. She had no problem with the other fairy as of yet. She closed her eyes and just closed her eyes. The room began to heat as she began to relax. She tended to change the heat of any room she was in because her body temperature was normally 106 degrees and she wanted the room to be the same temperature. She never realized she was doing it because she lived alone.

"Artemis" She said plainly, answering the question of what her name was.

Black Orchid

Bozidara chimed angrily, but stayed planted on Jaroslav's shoulders. Everyone but But Bozidara was able to feel the heat, but no one said anything, though only sign giving off that they felt it was the happy shivers running down Jaroslav's spine.

“Ah, I see; beautiful name.” He said, placing his scepter in his coat sleeve and bringing out another of his black cigarettes and lighting it.

Boy's name.” Bozidara said, scooting closer to Jaroslav's neck.

“Not so—Artemis is a very important Greek deity—She was the Hellenic goddess of forests and hills, childbirth, virginity, fertility, the hunt.” He said, though he had a far off look in his eyes as if he was reminiscing. “You can wander around whenever you want.” He said suddenly, looking down at his cigarette that just burned in his fingers, “Don't wander to far, though, my magic only reach to a certain distance.” He told Artemis, letting her know how free she was with the magic.

"Be careful you silly little Energy fairy of who you piss off. You don't want to get eaten now do you?" She stared at the little yellow fairy as her eyes darkened the purple again. Instead of having a pissing contested with a childish fairy she stood, flung open the window and grabbed the top of the window seal from the outside. She easily lifted herself up, bring her leg  to where her hands were. She pushed off the window seal wall and sailed through the air to land in the tree just outside the window. She climbed to the very top, which could be seen from inside the room. She lounged there on the tree branch, just soaking up the sun.

((Congrats on your joining!! We could continue this or scrap it, I'm kind of leaked for ideas, so you could message me if you have an idea—I don't mind what you want to keep doing))

Jaroslav watched as Artemis curiously leaped out into the tree, he was going going to ask her what her deal was—well actually, he wanted to avoid the watery eyed Bozidara—who was now clutching onto his collar with trembling, ready to sob, hands.

I can't believe your replacing me!” She cried suddenly, loud enough to tell Abhra and Georgeann to get the hell out of doge; poofing in their color's dust.

“Don't be so dramatic.” Jaroslav waved, but when she actually started to bawl, he sighed exasperatedly.

You went looking for her, even when I told you I was practicing—you even told her—you don't want me anymore!” She sobbed, shaking his collar softly because of her small form.

“Of course not!” He said trying to reach over onto his shoulder but his starchy suit restricted it. “You're very essential to my collection;” He paused and looked out the window warily, “you're what keeps me living.” He said gently, whispering the last.

Bozidara sniffled, “Really...?” She whispered, rubbing her eyes—all four of them. Jaroslav nodded, “... So... I'm more important than her.” She said loudly, gaining her confidence back.

Well~...” He started, but looking up at her pouting face, he nodded and went along, “Yes, yes, of course.”
