Darklyangelic

This is a piece that I wrote more years ago than I care to remember. It was at a hard time and I found that putting thoughts onto paper offered me some closure and peace.

Your scent now fades though your memory lives on,
Rooms empty and bereft of your light though your memory lives on,
Possessions taken by thieves in the night,
False ideas of family that would not even see you cold before they preyed like vultures.

My pain turns to anger as your memory lives on,
Clutching fragments desperate for that connection.
I will never see your face again and yet your memory lives on.
Do I let myself forget?
Should I move from this cold dark place?

As I take the first step forward I cry out as your memory lives on
But your image is now the abstract, the whisper in my mind.
I curse human frailty,
Curse my stupid thoughts that let you slip further from me.

Your never knew of the life growing in me,
You will never see his beautiful face.

Late one night I caught a perfume in the air.
Lavender filled our senses and his laugh from the cot.
It was then I knew that it was more than just your memory.
The pain will fade, the ache of loss because you will always be with us
Your memory will live on.

Really good, just like the rest of your writing.

Thank you so much.

Prose was a bit of emotion outlet and something that I don't often do so it means a lot that you find it reads well.

Congratulations!  I had a feeling you would be approved ;)

Thank you so much badboy.

Was reading your intro post and just wanted to say that you have my thoughts and sympathies for everything that is going on.
