I have always been a big fan of fantasy type genres so what I was thinking was that there are all these feuding families. Sounds rather boring at first but listen to it now. Each of these families has some sort of seal or crest that defines them. Each with an animal and some other sybol upon it. Not everyone is as lucky to have such wonderful seals, but those who do are the ones that are fighting... WHY? Because the family can shift into whatever animal is on their crest as well as they have the abilities.

For example, my crest.  A dragon with the symbols for the four elements surrounding it. Almost anyone in my family can shift into a dragon with the ability to control the elements. While some can only control an element or two without shifting... others can shift without the ability to control any of the elements... Get the picture? I'm open to anyone joining... Though please keep in mind my preference to those who write with more than just one line. It is one of my pet peeves.

This has a unique twist to it given that the parties involved are limited to the seals of their house. It makes a person truelly consider thier options prior to making a choice for sure.
You being the creator set yourself up quite nicely with dragon form and primal elements. Granted you did add that not all the house is a master of the seal but only parts of it. I applaude that.

Very well you've sparked my interest I shall join your game of seals.

I submit to thee for thine interpretation the crest of thy family in all it's dark splendor.

The large crest that resides over the family estate is dirty and scarred with age and many other unknown assaults. Were it not for the pristine conditions of the lawn, courtyard and ediface of the house proper one would think the crest belonged to an abandoned estate. It is on purpose actually that the crest is so dismal, it is to show the strength of the house. How it has weathered time, and tortures of unnatural natures. The details though covered in what appears to be soot and grime are quite detailed none the less. Storm clouds with sheets of rain and lightening leap out from the scrolled edges, at its center a great bird is soaring through the clouds toward the viewer. If one stares long enough they would swear to seeing the clouds shift, the lightening clash and the rains fall. Even the bird may be seen weaving in and out of the clouds.  Others may say that it made noise with a faint low rumble that might be thunder and the bird's cry shrill and high but yet far away. Those who know the family and have studied the crest in length recognize the bird as a pheonix, eternal like the house. Many scholars have tried to trace back the heritage of the family but always reach dead ends. Only those who live and work for the family know the truth, in a hidden library is the family tree every name accurate to the dot of an "i". The house is unique in that once you leave the courtyard and go inside after leaving the foruer you enter an atrium that houses one single tree. There on the tree held about its girth with a long sash of silk is another crest but this one is kept shining in the light. It truelly is the family tree. Planted by the first of the family, if ever it were to fall and its age counted one would know the true age of the family.

Probably more than you were looking for but it was fun to write it out.

Crest:

Skeletal fingers gnarl their bony mitts around a fraying banner, the flagpole extending downwards out of the artistic impression. Although along it's length is a writhing serpent, the scales a seething silver which burns the irises' of those who gaze upon its splendour during a somewhat hapless attempt at stealing the family crest. Upon the frayed piece of cloth, which is a polluted black; the colour of bile, lurks a mysterious sigil. At first it looks as though it's a standard gryphon, standing proud and emboldened by it's golden exterior; yet the rear of the creature is not a lion, rather a raptor of some kind which makes the assumption of flight seem rather preposterous with it's ungainly tail. The gryphon's legs are much alike what the fully fledged raptors may have been, short and stubby arms; more focused upon the menacing ability of the claws which are housed there. However, the nature of it's stance is maintained in the grpyhon's upper body which is more reminiscent of a demi-God, wide-set shoulders and bulging abs beneath a feathery exterior.

^ Not sure how that is, I was thinking of the family name being something like.. Razyaeron, sounds kinda' Elven. :D

Well, we know who's covering poisons and decay now... having trouble imaging the creature though to be honest. Could be interesting...

Kewl!

Wanted to add another line to my tale:

Though many can actually shift to the pheonix form while also being able to use thier other abilities, there is a catch. Only the Master of the House is able to shift to a full pheonix with all its proper abilities. All others simply shift to a bird that looks like a pheonix but with none of the pheonix's unique qualities. It is a Very closely guarded secret as to how the ability is passed on from one master to the next, in fact only the master knows the location and the rights and takes his chosen hier in secret. Though some master's wait longer than others to transfer the power, it is understood that this power grants a form of immortality to the wielder. But a family held so close together as this can only bear to out live so many generations before choosing to pass on the power and let age take its course.

I think I will allow a few more to join this, for right now it's currently just selfexiled and myself. Perhaps one or two more members could jump into the story to make it so much better than it already is. The decision of who gets accepted will be made by the two of us so.... yeah. :)
