As you check the mailbox, you notice one envelope with flashy colors, which turns out to carry the logo from the rather exclusive casino located down town. Opening the letter, you discover it's an invitation for a very exclusive cardgame, with some big money at stake. The entrance price is placed at US$ 250,000.= per contestant, with the winner receiving all! All drinks are on the house for this special occasion, though the owner of the casino will join you in the game, trying to get the pot for himself (and yes, he will also pay the entrance price).

However, to make the game more interesting, there will be a special twist to the game. Players will start out with very low chips, but have the option to buy themselves back into the game time after time. Every round a player ends without any chips, the player that just won the round is required to offer them a dare of the sexual kind. The players that are chipless all have to perform the dare given to them, or discard one article of clothing. Players that are already naked and refuse to perform the dare are out of the game.

I'm looking for players that are really interested into winning the game. Of course they can enjoy the dares they force others to do, they keep their eyes on the money. There will of course be lots of sex along the way thanks to the dares, but the evening will not end up with everyone hanging in each other's arms in a big orgy.

Players should have at least some knowledge about poker, though they don't have to be experts. We will work with chips, so there will be actual betting. The choice between Drawpoker and Texas Holdem is up for debate. If you're interested in joining, please state your preference, or indicate that you don't mind either way.

We are actually going to play out the hands of poker. Yes, this might take a while, but it's actually the aspect of betting that is part of the charm. To manage this, all players take turn in being the dealer, and the dealer himself will not participate in the current round, but instead hand out the cards to every player over PM, keeping track of which player has what cards.

I don't mind playing the host, but if someone thinks he or she could play a great host, then that person is welcome to take the role of casino owner. The host will participate in the poker game just like any other player would, but the character is also in charge of making sure the glasses of all the ladies remain filled. He's also allowed to describe the room layout in the initial post, but that's optional.

Considering the nature of this game, players should disregard the O/O threads of the other players. You are never ever forced to perform a dare. If all the dares kept the offs in mind, people would never be stripping. Likewise, players should not look at each other's O/O threads to seek out something that will make that player pass on the dare. This game will not be on the NC boards, since no NC is included whatsoever. A few generic offs (Mutilation?, Scat?) will apply to the game, though.

Note, this thread is based on a more general game idea that seemed to go two different ways. Some of the players were really into the conpetitive idea of the game, while others were more interested in a casual and cosy game. I'll make a seperate thread for those more interested in a casual game.

The in game thread can be found here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=17868;all
The original thread can be found here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=17433;all
The casual game can be found here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=17606;all

Also keep in mind that these games will differ enough to allow you to join both games.

Note. While neither game ever started, the competitive game was retried at a later date: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=34030;all

Deanna opened the letter that was addressed to her now deceased father.   As she read the contents of the letter, she bit her lip deep in thought.   Her dad had been an inveterate gambler, and when he died he had left behind a large number of debts.  Debts she couldn't afford to pay and to people that wouldn't take no for an answer when she said she didn't have the money.

She went back to her bedroom and pried open a loose floorboard, pulling out a lunchbox.   She opened it and looked inside at the $300,000 her father had left her in secret...not nearly enough.   But if she could somehow manage to win this tournament, perhaps she could get some of the mobsters off her back.   The alternative was end up face down in a ditch somewhere.....

Consider me interested.  :)

Rene read the letter, the rest of her mail sitting on the dining room table. A smile creased her lips at the idea of a high-stakes, naughty game of poker. It's not that she really needed the money, being a high-priced corporate lawyer had served her very well in recent years. What appealed to her was the chance to kick some butt at poker, a game she was quite good at. If she made some rich fool feel the heat along the way, so much the better.

Christian sat staring at the letter for hours, it seemed, sliding his fingers up and down the silken stitched hem of his kimono, the last gift given to him by his doting admirer.  But this was simply too much.  He let out a dramatic sigh and looked at Bernard with disbelief.
"You really expect me to go play this game for you?" is his first question.  He feels an ungodly amount of pressure beneath this request, and it shows upon his pretty face.
"Christian, my faith in you is immeasurable, I do have every confidence that you alone can come out of this game on top. Or bottom, as it were," Bernard chuckles.  He had been chasing that tail for almost a year now, the young man being his most coveted desire of all. What is a sum of money compared to a sweet piece of young man?  After all, he (in and of himself) is not getting any younger, and he can't take all that money with him when he finally moves to the Upper Room.  And he means to spend as much of it to have even the slightest touch of the Adonis before him. The much older man licked his lips in thought.
"But Bernard...really. $250,000? What if I lose?" He simply cannot fathom the anguish that in itself would breed.  He stands now, pulling the kimono closed over his well sculpted body.  He has been playing this game with Bernard for quite some time, accepting gifts, money, and whatever else didnt require a physical relationship.  Christian, in fact, despised Bernard for being such a willful old man, wrinkled skin that hung from aging bones.  He feels that his youthful stamina would be wasted on such an endeavor.  But the gifts are nice.
"Christian, the money is no concern.  You know what I want.  I tell you what, " Bernard says rather evenly, "If you lose, I get what I want.  Whenever I want.  Until I feel the debt is sufficiently paid. If you win, you keep the money, and I will never darken your doorstep again."
Christian is, needless to say, astounded by the offer.  He only has to think for a moment before giving his answer.
"Bernard, I believe we have a deal."  And with that, the silken-clad young man holds out his well-manicured hand to shake on it. "Notify them of my wish to attend, hm?"

Count me in, as well.

Welcome ladies. :) (Or should I say ladies and men? *eyes Ehvianna/Christian*) Nice background by the way :)

Any preferences for Texas Holdem or Drawpoker?

Also, I forgot to mention, but I'm reserving a few spots for the people that were in the original discussion thread. GrinningHound seemed to surely want to join, and the others were undecisive betweent the competitive and the casual game. From a first come perspective, they were in first, though they will have to confirm their interest.

Also, I'll be happy to give the spot of host away to anyone who feels like taking the role. I'll write the detailed rules up in OOC, though.

5 or 7 card draw?   I've never truly liked 5 card draw, but 7 would be ok.   Though Holdem is usually more competitive I would think (if it could be done without drawing things out a lot).

Ehvianna

I wasnt aware that one had to be a female to join...well...apologies for breaking up the joy fest, Im just feeling a little gay man screaming inside my head saying "Taste the rainbow!" And I simply cannot resist. *wink*

As for the card game itself, I would imagine that I have no preference really, but tend to agree with Hollin when I say Hold Em would indeed be more competitive...

Just to prevent musunderstandment, one does not have to be female to join the game. All characters and players can be either female or male, and crossgender playing will be permitted for this game.

As for the cardgame, I like both 5 card draw (I like how people can bluff by indicating how many cards they draw. I miss this element in Texas Holdem) and Texas Holdem. I personally dislike 7 card draw as it has the worst of both worlds.

TanaSilver

Sorry, I forgot to make my preference for the game: 5-card draw. However, I'm not wholly attached to that, and would go for Texas Hold 'Em as well. I'm leaning toward draw because it seems simpler and faster, but that may not be the best reason to go with it.

So, in short, ignore this post because I'm fine with either!

Ehvianna

The decisiveness so far is astounding because I have to now agree that the draw game would move a lot faster.  So here I am, sitting on a fence.

Rules for the high-stake competitive casino game:

  • All participants need to bring in US$ 250,000.= in order to join the game. The player that remains in the game until and including the very end will receive all the entrance money.
  • All participants should wear four articles of clothing. All accessoires (such as jewelry, piercings, watches) count as articles of clothing. Anything that works as a pair (such as shoes, socks, gloves, earings) counts as a single article of clothing.
  • All participants need to appear properly washed. Participants with poor hygiene are not allowed entrance to the game.
  • The positions at the table will be randomly decided at the start of the game by the drawing of cards. This will also determine the dealer for the first round. The order of the participants does not change during the game.
  • As long as there are five or more participants remaining, the dealer will not participate in the game for the duration of that round, nor will the dealer pay the ante for that round. When four or less participants remain, the dealer will be involved as normal.
  • After every round, the participant to the last dealer's left will be the new dealer.
  • Every participant starts the game with chips worth 20 credits.
  • The ante/small blind will start at 1. The big blind will always be twice the small blind.
  • Every time all remaining participants have been the dealer once with the current ante/blind values, the ante/blind will double.
  • If a participant cannot afford the ante/blind, that participant places all remaining chips in the pot and is considered to go all in for that round. Likewise, if a participant wants to call a bet, but lacks the chips to do do, that participant places all remaining chips in the pot and is considered to go all in for that round.
  • When a participant goes all in, the pot is split. The other participants that are still in put an equal number of chips in the original pot, and the remainer of their chips in a seperate pot. If the participant that went all in wins the pot, only the original pot is awarded. The seperate pot is handed to the next best hand.
  • Participants are not allowed to reveal their cards until after the end of the round.
  • After the end of each round, the winner of that round must propose a dare to each player with no remaining chips, if any. Different people can be offered different dares.
  • Participants that decline to perform the dare must discard an article of clothing. Participants that were already naked when they decline a dare are removed from the game.
  • When more than one participant is out of chips, they can be offered a dare to perform together. If one participant declines the dare (and thus drops an article of clothing or is removed from the game), the other participant must still perform a different dare chosen by the game winner.
  • Participants that decided to perform the dare can still back out during the performance of the dare, whereby they have to strip as if they declined it in the first place. If this dare was tied to someone else's dare, the performer of that dare still has to perform a new dare.
  • The game winner can offer a dare that involves the game winner itself or a volunteer. If either the game winner or the volunteer backs out of the dare, the participant that was required to perform the dare is assumed to have completed the dare.
  • A variety of BDSM equipment and toys will be provided that can be included in the dares.
  • If a participant disagrees to a dare (and thus drops an article of clothing), that same dare (or something highly resembling it) cannot be asked to the same person again. If the dare involved another person, a dare is only considered the same if the other person is of the same gender as the first occasion.
  • Dares that cause injuries or permanent alterations to the body are not permitted.
  • Dares that require the touching of bodily wastes are not permitted.
  • Dares that require someone to eat or drink anything are not permitted.
  • Dares cannot include any equipment other than those provided.
  • After all participants without chips performed a dare or discarded an article of clothing, they receive an amount of chips equal to 10 times the current ante/small blind.

I'm assuming/hoping that by the time there are four or fewer players remaining in the game, that one of the beaten players is willing to deal with the cards. If that is not the case, we'll keep on playing with a passive dealer, until that is the case.

The equipment other than those provided is a safeguard to prevent people from drugging others and weird stuff like that. The provided BDSM equipment should cover most any needs, though piercings, tattoos and branding are considered injuries and are not permitted.

Any comments? :)

Texas Holdem:
[Everyone receives 2 cards]
- Round of bidding.
[Three cards are displayed]
- Round of bidding.
[One card is displayed]
- Round of bidding.
[One card is displayed]
- Round of bidding.

Draw poker:
[Everyone receives 5 cards]
- Round of bidding.
- People exchange cards.
- Round of bidding.

It doesn't differ that much, though people could argue that exchanging cards won't take as many turns as a round of bidding.

GrinningHound

I am still interested, of course!  Very much so!

And I'm happy to see that Ehvianna is playing a gay man.  My character isn't totally straight, himself. ;D

I think 5 card draw would go the smoothest.  I am not fond of waiting overly long for play to progress, and with Hold Em it would just take too long for all the rounds of betting.

TanaSilver

It all sounds good. I have one question, or maybe a concern.

It's going to happen at some point that someone will get a highly sexual dare that they'll do, and it may take a while to finish. I'm okay with sitting out as a spectator while it occurs, but there will be long stretches with basically 2 players posting until the dare is complete.

Xillen

Good point. I think we could splitpost the game where the sexual escapades of one round are going on while the betting of the next round is occuring, but nothing beying that. The hands of the next round should not be revealed until all sexual scenes from the last round have elapsed, since it would get very messy after that.

Optionally, if it's between two people, and they find each other at the same time on the board, such a scene could happen quite quickly.

This is not my final say about the matter, though. Ideas are welcome.

It's meant to be balanced, so just have faith in it. I'll clarify when things come along. A list of clear and defenite rules is something I think would fit with this environment :P

Question Mark

Jason Gonn strode back up his driveway, a tight bundle of multicolored envelopes held in his hands.  He casually sifted through them, placing the bills and junk mail in his deep, left pocket, a prelude to their eventual resting place in the trash bin.  In his right robe pocket lay the "good" mail: personal letters, a NetFlix (Jurassic Park never gets old for Jason), and a check from some long forgotten family member for a reason he couldn't even begin to fathom.  By the time he reached his fornt door, the tall man was shivering.  The light, black bath robe did little to protect from the chill of spring winds.

He fumbled with the lock for a second before entering the house.  Letting his two dogs out to stretch in the dew covered lawn, Jason sauntered into his kitchen, casually dumping the "bad" mail into a large wastebasket, while simultaneously tossing the "good" mail carelessly onto the table.  With a yawn, Jason proceeded to the chrome refrigator, still rubbing the sand out of his eyes.  He helped resist the urge to return to bed with a few gulps of flat Coke.

Still bleary eyed, he gazed out of the window back down along the driveway he had just walked up.  It was a nice morning, but a little too bright for his taste.  Squinting, he looked away, finishing off the soda and then crumpling the aluminum in his fist.  With a negligent flick, Jason tossed the crushed can atop the still sealed bills in the trash can.

He paused, focusing on the sad looking Coke can in the trash.  "Screw it," he muttered, turning away to look at a decidely happier object.  The gaudily decorated envelope lay face up on the kitchen table where Jason had tossed it.  He already knew what was inside: the insignia on the front betrayed its contents.  Why else would the local casino send such a colorful letter to a nationally acclaimed poker champion?

"Who knows?" he mused out loud to one of his cats.  "Maybe they'll actually stand a chance this time."

I hope I'm not too late.

I originally wanted to go for the casual one, but that thread is already on its third page, and I feel more than a little daunted.  So, uh, here I am.

As I mentioned, I'm giving the people from the original thread priority, as they already showed interest and aided in the discussion.

However, the thread that's on it's 3th page is the old discussion thread. The casual one currently only has one reply to it, so feel free to check it out: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=17606;all

Question Mark

How embarassing.   :-[  I'll go post there ASAP.  Consider this entry sill active, though, since the casual one is crawling along at a snail's pace compared to this one.

Haibane

Hi Xillen! Hm, I'm coming back to this one after I said I wasn't interested. I felt it was a shame that you split a good sized pool of players up into two smaller games, but given that this one seems to be the more popular I would be interested in still playing my 'gangsters moll' character. She wouldn't play in the poker game but she would be up for some dares, in fact her partner might not even give her the option to choose.

If you think this game has scope for such a character, let me know. I'll try to keep the disruption to the cardplay to a minimum. Once and if you are okay with it I'll see which male player (or female...? hm...) wants me as their moll.

Xillen

I've informed Haibane that a "partner" character like that simply wouldn't work in a game like this. Be sure to check out the casual game, though. It would fit in there excellently, and we could use some females in there.

I guess we're playing with the five of us then? Another female character would be nice to balance things out, but won't be a neccesity. Nobody seemed to be interesting in playing the host so I guess I'll do it myself.

It's about 50-50 on 5 card draw VS Texas Holdem. I guess if nobody else gives his or her input, I'll just make the decision and go for Texas Holdem.

Haibane

I created a thread so people can post their intro (the reason they're participating). Since practically everyone already posted something here, we might as well make room for that :)
