Twin sister



Sister that will soon die. (now dead)

They were close. Closer then normal brother and sister relationships. Now that was coming to an end her life was being cut short. Tears streamed down her face as she lay in her brother's arms fighting the blackness that wanted to surround her eyesight. Someone had shot her just outside her house and now she was looking death in the face. She clung loosely onto her brothers shirt not wanting him to leave her to call 911. Her pink hair was matted to her face since she was crying so much. "Help me." She coughed up some blood onto his hand.

His mind raced. Adrenaline pounded through whatever veins were in his head, he couldn't even think straight now. "Uh ... 911 ... 911!" He cursed swiftly. "Where the fuck is my phone?!" He reached to his jeans pocket, hand shaking violently, and grasped onto the mechanical device, jabbing in the numbers with more venom than needed and thrusting it to his ear. "Hello? Police! Damn it! My sister! My sister's been shot! Send an ambulance or whatever! No I - I don't care! - The address is ..."

His hands were sticky. Sticky with a red, gleaming liquid that seemed to shine in the gloom. "Don't worry, I'm right here, I'm not gonna' go, I'm not gonna' go." He wrapped his arms around his sister's body and pulled her frail, cold form close to him. Why was she so cold? "Hold on I -" He grabbed hold of his jacket and held it clumsily over her shoulders. "Put this on - It'll help!" His mind was a mess. Thoughts sped past each other and stacked heavily over the next till they piled into an agonizing mental tower.

"Look at me! Don't go to sleep!" He yelled; he was losing it now. Losing his sanity, losing everything. He was going to lose the person closest to him. No, it couldn't be happening ...

Her brother freaking out was making her worse and stressed out. The jacket was put around her shoulders offering not much help and she was limp. Still alive but barely and limp because of loss of blood. If she had the strength to talk she would say sorry for putting the blood on his hands and clothes now. When he said don't go to sleep her eyes were closed and she did not notice but then her eyes opened again. She still had a grip on his shirt but loosely.

What was that you did? CPR? Was that it?

"Hold on, this'll be better, it'll definitely get better, trust me." He whispered into her ear, leaning forward and pressing his mouth to hers, then he exhaled and did it again. Whatever it was meant to do, it wasn't doing it. Questions swimmed about in his head in a mass of pained answer-seeking. Why?What? How? Millions of copies divided from those and caused him a tremendous headache.

"Don't-die-on-me!" He hissed, pressing his hands against her chest and pushing down repeatedly, beads of sweat dripping off his hair and nose. Tears or sweat, he couldn't tell. Both were salty, and both were the only things he could even make sense of right now. Tears and sweat. Blood and tears.

Just when he breathed for her she had stopped breathing. He was trying at least but could he allow his sister to die? The breath entered her lungs allowing her chest to rise then fall slightly. The compressions brought her back only temporary. After the third compression she coughed and looked at him. "I'm sorry. I love..." She did not have the strength to say the last word which was you. Her head fell to the side and he was holding his dead sister.

"What? What?" He caressed her close to his body urgently. His brows furrowed and his eyes wide. She was no longer moving, nor speaking. "No!" He cried out, "No! No! No!" Clutching her still body close to him, he lost track of the hours he spent sitting silently by the pavement, even when the police and the ambulance arrived. His world had just started crashing all around him.

While this happened his twin sister was at work and she would not be home for a while. When the police and ambulance came it was already to late. "Sir we are going to have to take her." One of them said and put his arms around his shoulders to try and keep him from freaking out. Now her lips were blue and her face was pale. Death had sunk in and now her body was just a shell. Her spirit moved on.

Hours after the incident passed. And yet, Gerard remained secluded and alone. He wasn't aware of his sister's eventual return, nor everything of the world around him. Devoid of emotion and empty of strength, he sat by the sofa, eyes glazed as his piercing blue orbs scanned a television that reflected images which meant nothing to him. He opened his palm slowly and stared at it, then clenched it into a shaking, shuddering fist; veins pulsed along his flesh and throbbed.

His once-clear blue eyes became clouded in uncertainty. He held his hand up and clutched the side of his head quietly. He no longer knew what he was. And, truth be told ... he was no longer what he was.

By the time his twin sister got home the body was taken away and the blood cleaned up. Just as his hand was shaking she walked into the house not knowing what had happened a few hours earlier. "Gerard?" She called out happily knowing he was always there to greet her with a hug. This time was different though. When he did not answer she found him in the room and saw the look on his face. Quickly her smile faded. "What's wrong?"

Gerard busied himself physically by playing with a puzzle in his hands; it seemed to make sense, giving a satisfying click every now and then as he solved one part. His expression remained blank and cold as he repeated the puzzle again and again. For the most part, he completely ignored the presence of anyone else in there. Fault. Prejudice. Pride. All sorts of emotions mingled dangerously in his mind, tensions mounting in his own private little sanctuary.

The phone rang; a policeman, most likely. He was going to give consolations, no doubt, and explain what had happened to their sister. Gerard made no move to answer the phone.

Something was wrong her brother was not talking to her and he never did this. When the phone rang she jumped since it was so quiet around here. She picked it up and put it to her ear. "Hello?" She asked wondering who would be calling at this hour. Never would she expect a phone call from the police about her sister.

[Lyrus]

The policeman quickly explained, how they had caught the villian who had done it in a fit of rage, their consolations, and their ultimate status of their sister that Gerard already knew: The doctors had tried their best, but they couldn't save her.

While this went on, Gerard finished the puzzle for perhaps the thousandth time, with a mute click as it fit in place again. As if bemused, he tapped the puzzle several times, then the pieces crumbled away, overused and broken. Gerard's eyes burned with hatred, hatred for what, he did not know. Psychologically problematic at this point, he hugged his legs closer to his body and closed his eyes. The world, dark and black around him, was comforting at this point in time.

When the policeman was done speaking she could not think straight. The tears came down her cheeks seconds later after she heard that their sister was dead. Maybe to get him to talk she would say that they were working on his sister. No she was not as close as he was but she had to be strong for him. Slowly she went over to him and sat beside him. "Gerard?" She put a hand on his arm trying to get him to answer her or respond in some way.

Gerard's eyes instantly sparked with furious emotions, and his arm snapped back abruptly, shrugging off his sister's hand. "Don't touch me." He hissed, his breathing revealed, deep, laboured breaths, coupled with a fanatical, deranged look in his eyes. He composed himself in a manner of seconds, his blue eyes returning, his brows parted, pained, and he turned away from his sister again. His attention now seemingly riveted to the television screen, he paid her no heed, mumbling to himself incoherently under his breath.

When he pulled back his hand she winced she was afraid he was going to hurt her for some reason. "Gerard they are still working on her. I need to know what happened." It was a lie yes but to get him to talk. Slowly she moved back a few inches to give him some space. She still had tears in her eyes and wished none of this had happened to the twins.

[Lyrus]

"You're lying!" He screamed forcefully, no longer the person she once knew. "Lies! Lies! All of you! Liars!!" He ranted on, cursing under his breath a mixture of insults he once would never use before his twin sister. He abruptly returned to his obscenely insane state, twitching as veins throbbed by his temples. "I know she's dead. You killed her!" His eyes widened as if he believed his own fabrication of lies. Then his body slumped and all the fight went out of him, he simply looked away from his twin sister, no hint of apology in his eyes, only sorrow and mayhem.

Since they were twins they were able to read each others minds. Why would she try and say something like that. Why would he think she tried to kill her own sister? Tears came to her eyes as she heard the accusation as she slowly got up. "I'll leave you be then." Slowly she walked away from her brother knowing he would have to calm down before she tried something else again.

[Lyrus]

Rage boiled within Gerard. A mixture of anger and downright insanity. He glowered at the retreating figure of his twin sister; then he promptly got up and left without a word, ascending up the stairs of their home to his bedroom. The door slammed shut with unwarranted venom as Gerard sealed himself off from the rest of the world.

His eyes were now showing naught but complete whites as he clutched his head and lay on his bed, feeling nothing but a wild blend of emotions that would ultimately lead to something ... special.

When he walked past her she looked at him then looked away quickly. How could he accuse her of something she did not do? She was at work and he knew that. She wrote it off as just anger from his sibling dieing. Slowly she went up to her room and sat on the bed. The tears streamed down her face now that the pain was coming out of her about their sister.

[Lyrus]

Gerard sat on his bed, deep in thought. His emotions and his thoughts had linked together as one, and his persona had warped, well and truly warped. His mind, completely unstable, had resulted in him closing his hands together and staring at the ceiling. A wretched smile marred his features as he lowered his head again, body shaking with rage and trepiditation.

He would show them. He would show them all. And first was his sister ... he would show her first.

Yes, yes he would.

Giggling to himself insanely, he held his hand in his hands with a lopsided smile etched onto his features.

That night she had cried herself to sleep. A mixture of pain from losing her sister and her brother that seemed to be threatening her. Would he come in the room late at night? It was cold tonight and she had no covers on her body so she was shaking slightly. The pillow was soaked with tears and she tried to think of a way to help him while sleeping.

[Lyrus]

When morning came, Gerard was seated by the dining table, again with a new, more complicated puzzle in his hands. With every metallic click his smile widened, and then he would reset it and his face became composed again. It looked like he ate nothing, but a bowl filled with cereal and milk was set aside at the side of the table, untouched, presumably for his sister.

When she woke up she felt worse then the night before. She had to relive the scene with her brother not wanting anything to do with her. Slowly she walked down stairs hoping that he could at least respond. "Gerard?" She asked seeing him at the kitchen table and saw the cereal knowing it was for her. "You have to eat."

[Lyrus]

Gerard looked up blankly. He appeared to have returned to his normal self by his attitude, but his grin was lopsided and his features were marred with uncertainty and simple insanity. "No I don't." He replied with a hoarse laugh, "You have to, though." He added, his eyes flitting to a dangerous medium again. "You'll need nourishment for today. You'll need it." With that, he bowed his head and returned to his puzzle.

Maybe she should get him a counselor to come over to their house. She took a deep breath and sat down on the opposite side of the table. "You really need to eat. She would want you to eat and live your life." Maybe saying something like that was the wrong thing to do but she had to try to get him to eat something. Even if it was a bit. Taking a spoonful she put it to her lips and ate some of it. It tasted bitter.

He contemplated banging his fist on the table and going into a rage at the mention of their sister, but thought the better of it. He had already drugged the milk, after all; all it was going to take now was for it to take effect. He simply looked up and shot a venomous glare at his twin. "Never mention her. Ever again." His thoughts warped, he waited in silent, maniacal glee for the drug's effect to show itself. The drug he placed into the milk made it so that her body grew numb and weak, and her vision would become hazy. It was something similar to a 'high' drug, giving her random, painful hallucinations and horrifying thoughts. In short, it was a catalyst to terror and abuse.

Again she winced at his voice knowing she should not have done that. The milk seemed bitter. Had they forgot to get some from the store and he did not realize it had gone bad? 21 years of trust was built on the twins relationship and she did not think he would ever drug his sister. She shook her head slightly as she got dizzy. What was going on? She put her spoon down and put a hand to her head.

Gerard simply got up from his seat with deliberate slowness and strode over to his sister leisurely, he reached down and picked up her frail, dizzy form; she would see blackened visions, wild creatures of the night, and all manner of ghouls and demons bearing down upon her. With her twisted hallucinations aiding his effort, Gerard walked down towards the basement, a simple, cold smile, etched on his lips. The equivalent of an unfortunate series of events that were about to face his dear, dear, sister.

By now she did not know that she was getting carried away by her brother. The screams could be heard from her as she saw visions through her mind. Her eyes were rolled back in her head and she struggled against his arms. Why was he doing something like this to her?

[Lyrus]

Finally, he reached the bottom of the basement, which he had engineered earlier this morning to resemble something akin to a torture chamber. He sat her on a chair and leaned back, staring right into her eyes. He wanted to make sure the drugs had not addled her brain totally first - he needed her sane, he himself, he needed someone to show, he needed to show them the wondrous revelations! Mentally deranged, insane, Gerard leaned forward and tilted her chin up gently. "What is your name? Who am I?" He asked sweetly.

Her head continued to swarm with a new question that was given to her. Soon hearing her brothers voice brought her back to reality. Her head dropped down against his hand as she breathed heavily for a few seconds. "Gerard." She answered his question. "What the hell was that?" She was mad because she knew something had happened and he did it.

[Lyrus]

"Answer the question!" Gerard hissed, then he composed himself again. He knew his sister was seeing multiple horrifying images and these hallucinations would impair her thinking. "What is your name?" He repeated, his eyes burning with anticipation. He had seen so much. So much.

She covered her face with her hands  trying to think clearly. Had she past out? "Rebecca." She stammered out the words wondering what happened to her. The milk tasted bitter and then she was seeing things.

[Lyrus]

Satisfied she finally regained her senses, he reached forward and whispered into his sister's eager urgently, "I have seen so much, Rebecca. So much." His eyes closed, then opened with a new fervour, "This world is tainted with the weak. It is blasphemy! They who killed our sister ... They did their task! They are to reform this world! Criminals! Criminalistic senses! It will be the future..." His voice rang with the fervent note of someone dedicated to a religious faith. "But they are incompelete... This world deserves a better class of criminal..." He was muttering to himself now. Then he turned his eyes back to Rebecca. "And I'm going to give it to them. Doesn't it sound glorious, sister? Doesn't it? Doesn't it?" All around the poor girl, wild hallucinations, and her brother's mindless ranting, was something that would snap anybody's mind into pieces.

Again her head fell as she tried to put what was real and what was not real. "Gerard you are not doing that. Are you insane? Look I am going to get you some help for this." She knew he was loosing his mind but he could not go on a crime spree he would end up in jail and she did not have the money to bail him out. "Wait where am I?" She asked lifting her head.

[Lyrus]

"The basement." He replied promptly, then he paused and slicked his hair back with a twisted grin. "Your new home, for now. Since you do not understand. You do not understand at all!" He rose from the seat, and held open his hand to display a small, compact pistol. Gerard did not have a gun license. "You'll see. They'll all see!" He giggled maniacally as he held his hand against the wall to support himself. "I left food by the chair, Rebecca ... Eat it when your mind clears and they don't look like wriggly, delightful worms." With another shriek of insane laughter, Gerard started his ascent up the stairs, leaving his sister down behind him.

"What?" She shrieked he knew that she hated dark places and noticed the gun in his hand. Was he going to shoot her? "You can't do that you do not have a license." Tears filled her eyes as she hated basements and darkness. Once her dad locked her in here and she was driven nearly mad. "Don't leave me." She cried out not being able to stand.

[Lyrus]

Gerard paused, his eyes sparked with curiousity. Twirling the gun in his fingers expertly, honed by hours of playing with a puzzle made to resemble the gun hold, he stared into her eyes coldly. "Beg me." He beckoned with his free hand, "Beg me not to leave me. Understand me. Serve me, come with me as I show this world what I will do to it for taking away what was dear to me!"

Tears filled her eyes again as she did not want to do what he said. "I would rather stay here then serve you and kill innocent people. Please don't leave me." She whispered knowing he knew how she felt about basements. What had gotten into him? Slowly she started moving her legs around.

[Lyrus]

Gerard smiled sweetly at her. "No." Then he walked out, and the door slammed shut with a tremendous bang, sealing her off in complete darkness, accompanied by wild, raving hallucinations to plague her.

She started screaming when he slammed the door shut. Did he lock it? The hallucinations started playing with her and she fell off the chair onto the floor. What was going on?

[Lyrus]

Countless wild illusions, ranging from the most grosteque to the most pleasantly disgusting and delusional started to fill Rebecca's mind. The food Gerard had left on the floor was a simple meal of bread and soup, but with the drugs taking effect they seemed to resemble worms and insects more, crawling after her. Hours of torment, hours of suffering. This was Gerard's goal - to let Rebecca see what he saw... And what he saw, no one should see.

He saw a new Armageddon for the world.

The food to her looked like worms and she moved away from it into the corner. Her arms went to her head and she screamed again. "Make it stop." She said out loud not knowing why her loving brother would do this to her. She huddled in a corner shaking and wondering what was real and what wasn't.

[Lyrus]

Gerard returned home hours later, that day; the screams of suffering and the police sirens that filled the city that night were music to his ears. He had become a legend in a single night; he walked over to the bathroom, and looked up. His reflection grinned back at him, it was a monster - he had done many deeds under a mask of a criminal, a mask of a mime.

Washing off the makeup, he walked back down with deliberate slowness, the gun in his hand was empty, without ammo. For good reason. He had caused a revolution today. He had walked up to a Police Inspector, well respected in the city, and emptied two bullets in his head. Then, he had shot the two policemen accompanying the Inspector as well. Revenge, for their lack of protection to his sister. Next, he had dressed up as one of the policemen he had killed, visited the prison, and shot the man who had shot his sister. Retribution.

With that, all five shots in his gun had been used. And for good purpose. What followed a string of bloody murders as criminals all over the city, turned bold by this act of no regret, had commenced a massive citywide criminal spree.

Slowly opening the door, Gerard entered the basement, descending down the steps slowly. Or rather, not Gerard. He was Gerard no longer. A smile graced his lips as he saw his sister in a corner of the dark room. "How are we, sister?" He asked in a gentle face.

It had been a long few hours and she could hear sirens. Even though she did not think that anyone could hear her she tried calling out for them but of course no one came. The illusions had slowed and they only came every few minutes now. She did understand he had anger issues but killing was not the answer nor was violence. When he came into the room she jumped at the sounds of his footsteps. "Leave me alone." She hugged her legs towards her chest hoping he did not have the gun. Would she be able to run? If she could he could easily catch her.

[Lyrus]

He strode leisurely towards her; the drugs effect should have worn off by now. He glanced at the food on the plate remaining untouched; he sat down in front of her and smiled. "If you don't eat you'll have no strength." He pointed out, sliding the plate of food towards her.

She shuffled away from her brother when he came closer. "I'm not eating it you know it's freezing cold. I want to get out of here." She screamed at him hoping he would allow her  to go upstairs. If she wasn't afraid of basements she would be now and all because of her brother.

[Lyrus]

Gerard's eyes widened, his eyes in livid slits shortly afterwards as she screamed at him. He gripped her by the collar of her shirt and threw her body against the wall, "Do not!" He hissed dangerously, "Talk to me - like that." He placed his words with pronounced danger in them. Raising his hand, he slapped her face forcefully to the side. "I have seen things you cannot begin to comprehend. I have done things you wouldn't! For her! No - For me! She was just the stepping stone! I - I am Legend!"

She cried out when he pulled her by the color and was thrown against the cold wall. Tears spilled over her eyes as she wondered what was he doing. "I know your still in there." Her head went sideways as he slapped her across the face. "Please don't hurt me. You remember me your twin sister right?" There was blood on her lip now as she tried to stop him.

[Lyrus]

Gerard ler the breath hiss out of him as he started laughing, "I have no sisters left!" He paused, then he gripped hold of her throat, choking her. "My sister - is - dead." He said slowly, putting emphasis on every word before he released her. "Dead." He repeated, as if to confirm it for himself. "Dead! All dead! Hahahahaha!" His cold laughter rang across the basement as he advanced towards Rebecca slowly. "You don't know what it means to be me!" He screamed as he pulled on her hair and dragged her up to face him.

When he choked her her tongue slid out slightly and she made gagging noises. It was not enough to stop her from breathing but it still bothered her. Hearing that he had no sisters left was hurtful to her and she hated the fact that he sounded like that. Quickly she was brought up to his level. "No I'm your twin sister remember?" Her brother was gone but she had to make him remember. "Remember dad locked me in a basement and you came to rescue me?" She gripped his hands.

[Lyrus]

"Yes." Gerard's eyes cleared as if that made sense, "Yes. Yes." He repeated it to himself, musing over it. "No!" He said sharply, "I am not easily fooled! You are a spy! A cop!" He started his insane ranting again, "I hate policemen! I hate you! You failed at your duties, your oaths!" He dragged her along the floor with his hand firmly grasping her hair, ignoring her protests. "You'll be punished! All of you!" He screeched as he hurled Rebecca forward in between laboured breaths.

"Please let me go." She cried out knowing he could hurt her hoping that some words would get into his mind. Now when he pulled her a cut came to her arm and there was a small blood trail. "Gerard stop it please." Her cries came out as she thought she would get killed. Honestly would he do that to her?

[Lyrus]

Gerard took a deep breath, and surveyed his victim. Her frail, broken body. His mind completely devoid of logic, he laughed. This, this was all that was left of her. Moving past her, he jerked a thumb backwards, struggling with his own thoughts. "Go, go back your room." He inclined slightly with his hand. "Now!" He added forcefully.

At least there was a lock on her door but no phone to call the police. Quickly she ran up the stairs stumbling a little bit and ran to her room. The door was locked in seconds and she ran to her bed. The light was on and she was to scared to be without a light on. Tears glistened down her cheeks.

[Lyrus]

Gerard panted deeply, he took a deep breath, and he walked out of the basement. Mulitple notions drilled themselves into his head. In place of insanity, he stocked up on sanity. Super sanity. His eyes gleamed wickedly as he took great, loping strides to the kitchen and opened the cabinet to reveal rows after rows of bottles with pill sand tablets of various uses in them. He closed his eyes.

Till what level would the human spirit hold out?

There was no way he was going to go kill himself was there? She listened to the noises downstairs trying to figure out what was going to happen and if he was going to come up stairs. Now he was in the kitchen but how long would it be till he came upstairs?

[Lyrus]

Much banging came from the kitchen. Sounds ranged from the filling of bottles to the boiling of liquids. There was even once when a great dool of clashing and clanging came from the kitchen and a line of pure insults rang into the air. It was something akin to living with a mad scientist.

When she heard those things she got up and put her ear to the door. What was going on did he need her help with something? "What's going on?" She called out the door keeping it locked.

[Lyrus]

"Nothing!" He sang in a little airy-fairy voice, "Just fine! Just fine!" More banging. The ruckus reached upstairs, there was a faint sizzling and boiling sound, and a noxious smell filled the air.

When a smell hit her room she opened the door and went down to see what he was doing. "What are you doing?" She asked coming into the kitchen.

[Lyrus]

A vial flew past her ear and crashed into the wall. "Out!" Gerard screamed as shards flew everywhere, "Get out! Get out now!" His sudden rage gathering momentum, he seized the bubbling beaker he was working on, "Or I will have this down your throat instead!"

[darkvamplips]

She cried out when the glass flew across the room and a shard stuck in her arm. Now how was she going to get this out. Drugs. A hand flew to her arm and touched it where the blood started to seep. "Look you can't get into drugs. Please don't do this."

[Lyrus]

Gerard noticed her injury, but there was no reaction he showed except a little twitch at the edge of his lips. "But my dear..." He sang, striding up to her and taking out the shard roughly, ignoring the little spurts of blood that followed, he slid a tongue across the blood, violent tendencies gleaming wickledy in his eyes. "I'm not the one these are going to be fed to..."

She cried out in pain when he pulled the shard from her arm. When he said those words she ran up in her room again and locked the door behind her. Why was he doing this to her? She just wanted to be there for him. She huddled into a corner with her arms wrapped around her legs.

[Lyrus]

Gerard cast his eyes to the heavens, dropping the shard aside as he breathed in the noxious fumes, and fell to the floor coughing, whilst laughing at the same time, clutching his throat and clawing at it, as if the humour threatened to burst out of his chest. His maniacal laughter carried up to the second floor, and the smoke grew denser, with all the windows sealed off.

What was he doing? Trying to kill them both? She went over to the window in her room and opened it so she would be able to breathe a little easier. Why was he being like this when she was just trying to help him. Tears filled her eyes as she started coughing because of the smoke.

[Lyrus]

A glass vial shattered downstairs. There was an exclamation of glee, then a pause, and the sound of footsteps storming up the stairs accompanied by swearing. Gerard grabbed hold of the door knob, and, finding it locked, struggled with it viciously; then the rattling stopped. A second later, the door knob was smashed from it's socket by a hammer Gerard carried; he strode over to the window and slammed it shut viciously. "Don't - try me!" He yelled, then walked back downstairs. There was a hissing sound.

A minute later, he returned, body shaking, but otherwise looking calm. "Take it." He insisted, holding out a tray laden with food. "Your meal."

All she was doing was trying to get some fresh air into the house. A few more coughs came from her as she knew there was some drugs in the food. "Please stop." She cried out knowing if she went to fight him then he would over power her. "Don't you remember me your twin sister." She wanted him to remember her for the last attempt at saving her life or that's how she felt.

[Lyrus]

Gerard's eye twitched, and the words that came out of his mouth were final. "I have no sister." Throwing the plate of food down to her feet, he glowered at her dangerously. "You will eat. Or you will starve." Then he promptly left the room without another word.

"You know you still have our twin sister you just don't want to admit it." She yelled at him looking at the food on the floor. Why would he try to drug his own sister? She went on her bed and curled up on her side with tears in her eyes.

[Lyrus]

There was no reply; merely banging and crashing as Gerard descended from the stairs, walked out the door, and slammed the door shut - then locked it. The sounds of an engine started up, and a car drove away silently.

Tears spilled her eyes as she heard him leave the house. She wanted to help her brother get out of this mood but did not want to tell the police he was the one to kill all those people tonight. Slowly she got up and walked downstairs to make herself something to eat so it wasn't full of drugs.

[Lyrus]

The TV was left on as she walked down the stairs; the screen flickered and blurred, with the news reporter saying, "Today, police have discovered renowned rock star and alleged rapist, Ben Howard, was discovered dead in his apartment ... Officials believe the food was drugged..."

Why was she not calling the police for her brother? It was because he was family to her and she did love him even if he did beat her up. She looked at the television set and shook her head before going to the kitchen and picking out a can of soup.

[Lyrus]

Silence lingered for the rest of the night, till it became clear he would not be home. Yells and shouts of angry protesters, the screams of the violated, and the cries of the victims, rang through the city.

"Where are you?" She asked listening to the screams and the television set. Sitting down on the couch she was getting worried.

[Lyrus]

By the time morning came, Gerard still wasn't back. The pandemonium had not died down, till the late nights and the early mornings the noise still went on.

She went over to the window and looked out. Where was he? Did the cops find him? "Gerard where are you?" She whispered starting to get worried.

[Lyrus]

Finally, by morning, the sound of a car driving up could be heard. As the vehicle pulled up by the side of the road, Gerard stepped out of it, looking worse for wear. Sweat matted his hair to his forehead, and his hands twitched uncontrollably. As he made for the house, he was on the verge of collapsing, time and again.

When she heard the car pull up she was on the couch and then got up to go behind the couch. She was afraid of him now and what ever happened to her loving twin brother? Her hands were shaking knowing she could not leave him why didn't she leave when he was gone?

[Lyrus]

The door banged open, and Gerard staggered in; he wobbled on the spot for a few seconds, then he made for the couch and collapsed, not noticing her. Blood streamed out of his side, where he clutched, and his eyes were dazed and unfocused.

When she saw his situation and how weak he looked she forgot about all he did to her. "Gerard?" She asked going around the couch slowly to the other side of the couch in front of him.

[Lyrus]

His eyes were dazed. Unfocused. Upon hearing his voice, he reached for his side, and held out a gun. Click. The gun was empty. Dropping the unloaded weapon to the ground, he rolled over and panted. "I've killed him." He managed. "The son of a whore that killed her."

When he pulled out the gun she gasped and pulled back not wanting to get shot. "Killing someone was not the answer. You know she will go to jail and you did not need to kill her son." She whispered.
