Desperation [Oleander & Syrus]
« on: August 02, 2009, 11:11:51 PM »
Lord of Arrogance...

...Desolate Angel...

...Godless Soul.

There was never an escape. Nimble, whisps of an ethereal black mists weaved their way through the cracks. Seeping through the floors and summoning a mass untold. Billowing into a large untamed cloud. Thickening, becoming darker. Bones could be heard snapping, cracking, splintering. As if the mass itself was eating some poor, helpless creature alive. Chewing it whole, teeth gnawing through flesh, bone and blood. As the mist began filter into nothingness a figure could be seen standing. The last remains of the mist thinning int flesh and the chest rose with the first breath. A rasping, growl seemed to announce that first inhale. But as the lungs filled and expanded, there was no need for an exhale. Silence filled the thresh hold.

The voice slithered through unmoving lips. It hissed into the silence.

The voice hissed again and the eyes snapped open. The head rolled upright, as if the name had brought it to life. The once motionless vessel cracked, and broke free of its stiff cherade. Lips parted and a slender pink muscle rolled over sharp ivory whites. Fangs glittered amongst the darkness of its mouth. Eyes were bright as the blue sky. Pupils narrowed into slits, slowly rounded into the ball like occulars of most humans. Pale, greyish skin warmed into a golden sun tan. Slender digits narrowed into talons. The body moved forward, and the female known as Esperanza emerged from the nothingness that was the black mist.

The God had been here.. she could taste it.. what she was seeking, she would find. No mortality should find her here.

Chains.  Many of them.  Iron and heavy, attached to the walls at the ends.  To shackles and steel collars at the other.  The chains had not moved for centuries.  Rusted and stuck in the positions they had been placed in they held in a most terrible beast.  A man.  Or more than a man.  The figure, whatever it was, sat in the center of the room.  Eyes closed, sleeping.  It almost seemed dead, the way it took a breath.  One slowly inhaled, then even slower exhaled.  Centuries it had slept, undisturbed by the world on the outside of the room.

The creature inhaled again.  Cool, dusty air.  Another breath.  More air, more dust.  Again, another slow breath.  Air, dust, and something else.  Something that didn't belong in the room.   It's nostrils flared taking in the scent.  It was dry, old, almost decayed.  But it knew this scent.  In the back of it's sleeping mind it knew what the scent was.  And somewhere in the sleeping mind of the creature there was a spark.  A waking spark.

It was instinct.

Awake and move...

Urging more and more.

Wake and release!

The chains creaked.  For centuries the heavy iron chains sat in silence, rusting.  The creature opened its' eyes.  Cold, silver eyes.  Like liquid steel.  It took another deep breath.  More of the scent.  The creature that sat in the room chained to the walls began to change.  It leaned forward onto all fours.  It's face starting to elongate, bones cracking as they were forced into the change.  The creature's arms and legs changed.  Hands and feet into large, sharp clawed paws.  Fur shot up everywhere on the creature.  A tail had grown, bones forming and lengthening from the spine.

The chains.  The iron bindings of the creature shattered with the sudden change.  Where once sat a sleeping man, now stood a great wolf.  The creatures fur as black as the midnight sky, it's eyes two glaring, hungering stars.  It stood at shoulder height for this was no ordinary wolf.  It was awake again.  The wolf creature howled loud and long.

And it had the scent.

That howl rattled her ears. Good he was awake. The lips curled into a sharp grin. Excitement made the heart begin to beat, pounding against the chest almost as if she was human. The blood rushed, flowed through drained veins. She was suddenly alive.

It was desperation.

Bittersweet determination.

She moved forward, taking her time as she moved around the room, watching him as the chains shattered. The large wolf was the apple of her eye. Esperanza teased a finger down between her breasts, dipping it into her cleavage and pulled forth a small pendant. She twirled the stone between her fingers as she watched him. Ah.. He was greater than that which had followed Deica. His power rippled raw from the flesh, she could feel it.. taste it.. she wanted it.

Those ethereal eyes stared him down, each movement came with a silent urge, a silent promise sworn. A slight hiss escaped her as she watched him, the power cascaded over the room, veiled her in a fit of hunger. She approached him, Gently reaching forth and lightly scratching beneath his chin. He knew her.. he knew her well. She had always promised to come back for him.. hadn't she?

"Mmmn.. did my little wolfos miss me?"

The wolf creature felt the hand touch his chin.  The scent was much stronger now, and sweeter.  He recognized the scent immediately.  He knew the creature it belonged to.  She stood scratching his chin calmly with no fear of him.  She had no reason to fear him.  She had his heart after all.

He sniffed at her palm and arm taking in the sweet aroma.  It was intoxicating.  Like a drug to him.  He took a step forward, his massive paws thumping on the ground.  He nuzzled he neck and chest as he continued to move forward.  He was still waking, and had some time before he was completely, but he still couldn't resist the scent.  He never could.  He didn't even realize what he was doing for a short while.  All he could think about was the woman in front of him and the scent.

She cooed with utmost delight as he nuzzled. She purred and patted between his ears, gently nuzzling his forehead.

"My poor poor Wolfos.."

She kissed his forehead and scratched behind his ears, holding close to the massive wolf. Oh she'd missed him terribly, and it had taken her centuries to find him. The Gods had done quite a job of hiding him... aswell as killing her. But even death wouldn't keep the illwilled princess away from he beloved guardian.

She scratched beneath his chin again.

"We have some business to finish my pet."

He had completely awakened now and heard what she had said.  He wasn't thinking about anything but her and the scent.  How could he after being asleep for so long.  Away from her for so long.  He didn't care about anything else.  Though he knew he would probably get a small scolding afterwords.  He pushed against her again knocking her to the floor.  He then took one massive paw and placed it on her stomach gently pinning her to the ground.

Then her began licking her face and neck playfully.  As much as he wanted her right now, he also knew she wanted him.  And this was his way of teasing her.  At least for the moment.  Forces unknown kept the two apart for now.

He nudged further and suddenly she hit the floor with a small yelp. Strands of ivory curls splayed across the ground as he pressed a heavy paw upon her stomach. Pinning her to the dias. She winced slightly and murred as he licked at her face and neck. It tickled more than teased. She giggled softly and laced her arms around his neck holding him close.

"My dear sweet Wolfos.."

She cooed quietly. He was unscathed, unmarred by the centuries. But Espe.. Espe had been damaged in the transformation. The revival from death into life. Every breath she took was through another. Every move she made was through a greater force. Her scent, her voice it was all her.. but her body.. her appearance, it was not the Espe from centuries ago. This new task unfolded would lead her on a journey to find her body.

To find the Gods who did this to her.. who tormented them. Tore them apart and forced them to suffer. They had murdered her in hopes of getting to him, hurting him, making him weak. But not even the Gods could keep her away from him. She nuzzled into the furr of his neck, tangling her digits in the thick mass. Breathing in heavily of his scent. Letting every fiber in her being relax.

"Oh Syrus..."

She almost cried.. her voice was weak, her heart raced with excitement, with love. Her body ached with desire, but not here.. not now. She coiled her arms around his thick neck and held his furred body close. Comforting, familiar. A sign that she had a chance of becoming real again.. of living.

He felt a difference in her presence.  Her body language and the air around her seemed to change dramatically from joy to sorrow almost instantly.  A small whine came out of him, trying to comfort her even just a little.  He beloved was on the brink of tears and he couldn't figure out the reason why.  She was with him.  What could be making her sad.

He sniffed at her and nudged her with his muzzle.  Then he backed away and looked at her.  That's when he noticed something was different.  The scent, the feelings, the power.  It was all hers.  But the body was not.  It was foreign.  Not her at all.  Caution and anger came over him instantly.  Who was this false woman.  This person parading around as his Esperanza.

He crouched down claws extending, growling as he bared his long dagger-like fangs.  He knew everything about her.  Everything except for this strange body.

She should have known it was coming. Like a flash, she was suddenly on her feet and crouched just out of his reach. A low growl escaping her. It may not have been her body, but he should have known it was her by the way she responded. Long ivory curls whisped back into their ponytail, cascading down her back and spilling over the floor as those undead eyes stared at him, their cold blue the eyes of the real Espe.

She growled. Warning him if he attacked she was going to tear him to shreds. Her tongue flicked over the sharpened points of extended canines.

"Remember Syrus... don't make a fool out of yourself.. think about it.. they killed me remember?"

She forced the memories back into his mind, the images playing over. Running, her running to save him.. only to find herself cornered, trapt. Taken to the burning post and murdered. Murdered infront of the public eye to drag him out of hiding. To weaken him, to put a thorn in his heart.

"They killed me Syrus.. and whoever ressurected me... gave me this body... I need your help Syrus.. I want my body back.. I want you back.. I want to kill the bastards who did this to me!"

Her voice was a growl, yet those silver bells chimed when she spoke. Her sweet, voice. Her powerful voice. Esperanza had been a power to be reckoned with when she was alive. A Vixen with a bite. She was like him, A wolf by all means, the Lupa to his Lupin. His second in command, his Alpha female. She was like him in every aspect of the word. But her body, was lost. This body consumed her. Trapped her within and tore away from her the ability to be a wolf.

"Please Syrus.. remember!"

The images of her memories rushed into his head like a tidal wave.  He saw everything that had happened up until the day he found her dead.  But still he cautioned himself.  Pacing around her, his massive paws thumping on the ground with every step, claws digging small gashes into the floor, he watched as the memories played through his head like a story.  He took in her scent again.  He knew what had happened.  But he didn't want to believe it.

Finally he calmed down a bit.  It was her.  In every aspect it was her.  Every one except her body.  Her temper and tone were definitely the same.  Tear him to shreds she had warned.  Only problem with that was that the body she was in wouldn't last long while he was in his wolf form.  Only another wolf's body could take the force.  They both knew that.

He let out a sound that could only be described as a wolf's form of laughing.  This had actually amused him out of his anger.  This was his Espe alright.  He relaxed and padded over and around her curling up into a rather large and furry ball of sorts.

Of course it had been her! It had been her all along. She knew she stood no chance in physical combat, but he had to remember. Espe hadn't always been a wolf. She knew magic, she knew how to fight. She'd been quite the vicious spell caster in her day. An angel of sorts, until she met Syrus, and traded her immortality for the life of a wolf. She curled into him as he curled around him. Wrapping her arms around him and holding him close.

"Forgive me..Syrus... for being weak.. and for dying that day.."

She whispered quietly. Holding his furred body close. She could feel it, thrumming through her veins. Its inconsistant hum. The first clue to finding her body was here. She could taste it on the tip of her tongue like lifes bitter sweet essence. But for now she wanted to spend time with Syrus. To be able to rest assured he still loved her. She sighed contently and closed her eyes.
