I wounder if it has an algorithm thats worth a shit or if its based on a few critical questions and a bit of random bullshit, i kind of believe the 2nd.

You could try taking the quiz yourself and see what it looks like before drawing a conclusion.

Considering the polar nature of a lot of the issues, I'm inclined to believe that each candidate has been 'scored' and there's some sort of best-fit correlation of the variables derived from the participant's answers.

I did tray it, mostly on lark but my awareness of political stances of some of the involved is sketchy at beast so any result is just a case of "huh interesting" apparently Hillary is on the top of my list *Shrug* Not that it matter in the least in my case not being us native.

But i was not saying the algorithm was intentionally or sisterly misleading simply that i wounder how the compression and allocation of the results was done. My general feeling on such internet applications is skepticism, if you want to say i am cyclical about it yes you are probably right.

If you are looking at the results, it shouldn't be too surprising that Clinton and Sanders fall close to each other or even Trump and Sanders.  Those pairings do share similarities on issues.

But really, as stated before, such tests should just be the starting point.  A way to crack the nut open.  Understanding the candidates better takes more digging.

While it may help to show how well your stance on various issues correlates with theirs, that's really about it. There are other things that might a turn a person on or off of a candidate like their political party, political agenda, perceived trustworthiness, etc..

Even Trump saying "remember Seven-Eleven!" when he meant 9/11 doesn't seem to hurt his voter appeal. The guy is steamrolling ahead.

The way I see it, anyone voluntarily associating himself with the label "socialist" (democratic or otherwise) gaining as many votes as Sanders has is a small miracle. So maybe it's a little too early to give up hope.

Trump has come out on Twitter saying Bernie Sanders should run as an Independent.

QuoteBernie Sanders has been treated terribly by the Democrats—both with delegates & otherwise. He should show them, and run as an Independent!

It's a smart move on Trumps part to try and divide those against him and have them fight against each other.

Legitimately my biggest concern is that Sanders stages an independent run a la Perot - or that the "Bernie or Bust" crowd is larger than I believe and bleed a significant number of votes away in a write-in effort or simply refusing to vote. Bernie has said previously he won't run Independent and split the party, but that was a while ago before he went quite so negative on Clinton.

My hope is that Sanders and/or his supporters can be mollified with a role in the Clinton campaign (I think VP is a stretch but who knows...). And that when Bernie does call this (now or in June) he can turn his organizational resources towards pushing the legislative branch left on some contested races.

Beguile's Mistress

Bernie might make a good VP but I don't know if he would be able to avoid being critical of the Oval Office if he disagreed with things being said and done there.  I don't think he is a misogynist but I don't see him as being all that supportive of any woman in a position of power.

Isn't that at least a mild oxymoron? How can someone not be a misogynist if they're flatly unsupportive of any woman in a position of power?

Beguile's Mistress

He doesn't appear to hate women across the board.  I get the impression he just doesn't believe they are as capable in certain areas as men.  He flatly stated Hilary Clinton is not qualified to be President then softened that statement of opinion in later remarks.  To be honest he reminds me of many of the men and women I've worked with who have a position of power or authority and for one reason or another have a bias against women moving up.  While Mr. Sanders may not overtly attack Mrs. Clinton if she accedes to the Oval Office I do believe he'll systematically undermine her efforts on any issue where he stands in disagreement with her.  That is more insidious than an outright criticism.

TheGlyphstone

I'd still personally call that misogynistic myself, but YMMV I guess.

misogynist
[mi-soj-uh-nist, mahy‐]
noun
1.  a person who hates, dislikes, mistrusts, or mistreats women.

One can be ambivalent or uncaring towards women('s goals, issues, concerns) and not cross the line into misogyny.

Except that BM seemed to think, from her wording, Bernie actively believes women shouldn't be in a position of power - that seems to fall into the 'mistrusts/dislikes' category at the very least, more if he'd be actively undermining her authority due to that fact if placed in a subordinate position of her office. Simply not caring is different.

That's not how I read her comment, but if you want to, sure, go ahead and call Bernie a misogynist.

If she's correct, then yes, I would call him a misogynist. Since I have no evidence one way or the other aside from that tiny bit of speculation, it'd be silly for me to form an opinion of such right now.

CuriousEyes

For the record, I personally believe Sanders' potential inability to work directly with Clinton in a subordinate role would stem from issues unrelated to her gender.

Cruz just announced his VP pick.

Urgh.

Not surprised though, considering she endorsed him.

Anyways, voted in the poll. I suspect Hillary will be the next POTUS at this juncture.

ReijiTabibito

At least she's not a Sarah Palin, has no idea of anything.  I would probably say that this would actually be the inverse of 2008 - where Palin destroyed McCain's chances of being elected, here if the ticket fails, it's going to be because of Cruz' stupidity.

Vekseid

Carly "Right Shoring" Fiorina?

Yeah no. She's even more of an albatross than Palin was. This time, her record of shipping jobs overseas is one of the highlights of her career - something she actively promoted at the time. She chose to ship American jobs overseas and the company she led did not get stronger for it.

ReijiTabibito

Even if you're granted that, at least Fiorina knows enough not to make an "I can see Russia from my house!" statement or do a Katie Couric.  The only reason Palin doesn't have more incidents like that to her credit it is because she's a decade younger than Fiorina.

Fiorina is the typical example of Republicans trying to insert a person of business into the White House.  That is to say, she made choices that don't work well in an election cycle, because it turns out that Americans are not exactly fans of having their jobs taken away from them and then castigated on the Factor for being a bunch of 'lazy hippies.'

As for her actions while she was HP's CEO?  She resigned - forcibly or otherwise - over ten years ago.  I haven't decided what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow.  You think she was thinking about running for President back in the Bush era?
