Hey...

I want to create a website, but am not sure what free service to use. I'm inclined to use Geocities...but was wondering if anyone would recomend any other sites?

I haven't used it personally, but I have had other friends who recommended www.freewebs.com. Supposedly they do less ads than Geocities, and have more features.

Thanks...i'll take a look. Dont know much about websites, so Geocities looked good since it seemed pretty simple to use.

Freewebs is really pretty good.  I know several people who use them.

I don't like Geocities.  It's popular, but with my Explorer settings  it produces confirmation buttons each time I load a page there.  Sometimes multiple ones.  I can make them go away with the corner X, but it's still annoying.

So...  Are there web hosts that do not outright ban adult content?   

Freewebs does ban it...  Although I have no idea how carefully they enforce...  Phrasing it "adult or pornographic" sounds a little broad to me.  Seems like they _could_ bust anything except graphic mass murder if they wanted (because that's more like NC-17, thank you Hollywood ;)
