Purple Dusk

Recently been feeling nostalgic about the whole game, thinking about all the great moments I had with this game.  Having played it nearly five times over from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 3 (exporting my character through each), I think it's fairly safe to say I've lived it rather than merely played it.  Despite it's flaws, it's been one hell of a ride, as Anderson would say.  So if anyone out there is interested in sharing some fond memories together with any other fans, let's do it here!

Sure, Bioware have promised further games in the Mass Effect universe, but this is a celebration of Shepard/Reaper Era of the Mass Effect timeline.

IMPORTANT
Yes, Mass Effect had it's flaws, and I'm sure we all had our criticisms (Lord knows I'm no exception), but let's leave those at the doorstep and remember the best times we had with game instead - the great moments, the times you wanted cry, the one-liners that made you grin, and the awesome comrades we wished we had!

If someone says something you disagree with, just let it go and tell us what made the game special to you instead  :-)

(I'm a bit short of time today, but will add my experiences in the next post!  Just wanted to get this started up, but anyone who loves this game should feel free to post any aspect they loved about the series  ;D)

I remember always liking Tali, she had been my favorite since her first appearance in the game. I was so pissed that she couldn't be dated in the first one but when she gives you a picture of herself in the third one? completely worth it, she is beautiful

So, I assume you didn't know that Bioware totally used a stock image of some woman off Google and barely photoshopped it, right?

But Tali! My beautiful Quarian, I'm so sorry I cheated on you with Liara in Mass Effect!  :'( I didn't know you'd be an option later!

*cries like a baby clinging onto Tali's alien leg with her patting my head*

yeah I know they did, and I felt bad for cheating on her too.

I don't know how anyone could NOT like Tali, she was awesome and her story developed wonderfully over the course of each game. Personally I think her and Garrus are my absolute favorites simply because they were with you for every part of the journey. I definitely felt quite happy for them when they got together. :)

No but you see it's alright. You help Garrus pick up a nice Turian chick in that casino bar during that DLC with your clone. That way you can have Tali all to myse-I mean yourself.

The girl is smart, brave, awkwardly adorable, and gots dem hips. She's incapable of not being likeable.

Whew!  Finally got back to my own thread!

Great to see the Tali fans alive and kicking, though I was more of a Liara fan myself.

Apart from the romances, I was glad for the character development that came out with the second game - the first game left me feeling great characters, but not enough development, but by the second game, everyone had gotten a slice of awesomeness!  So as it's said, there's no Shepard without Vakarian, and I wish me I had some crazy friends like Grunt and Wrex! lol

On that note, though the Citadel add-on (the one with the clone) was a bit light in gameplay, I loved it for the chance it gave me to be with my (virtual) comrades just one last time!

I may get shit for this but, I'm an Ashley Fan and I can't stand Tali lol.

As for a great moment, I love the Citadel DLC(as most fans do) and my favorite is getting Grunt out of trouble like a teenager who had too much fun. Playing parent was probably the cutest thing ever. Grunt is one of my favorites.

I might not be alone on this but, Mordin's death made me cry horribly. Even though I romanced both Thane & Garrus, even seeing Thane die and leaving Garrus to go up the Citadel at the end, nothing got quite like his death. I felt like it was totally unfair! I COULD'VE SAVED HIM!!!!

I saved Ashley my first time through on Virmire. That was back when I had a strict "I hate seeing girls die" code about me. But after a while, I kinda couldn't stand Ashley's attitude. So I went back, saved Kaidan instead. Had to go through the whole turning his advances down during ME3, but I liked his Alliance Soldier side to him.

And I'm with you. You couldn't save Mordin, but I cured the Genophage. I then went to watch what would happen if I tried to stop it. That scene is MUCH worse. Not to mention Tali throwing herself off a cliff when you choose the Geth over the Quarians...I'm really glad I was a Paragon.

First things first...the Mordin thing killed me, only other tear jerker thing I can think of is when you kill Legion and he asks if he has a soul....rough stuff. I went with the Liara romance, just fit*shrugs*. The illusive man is an awesome villain though.

So on a side not I hadn't played any of the mass effect games until the 3rd one came out, my buddy had been telling me for years to play the games and finally won me over with this trailer
