Putting this out there since I have been playing Star Trek Online a lot lately and this is an old story which has been kicking about.  The year will be 2371 and there are events which are heating up the both the Alpha and Beta Quadrant.  In the middle of all this new turmoil between the Klingon Empire and a former vassal of theirs, the Lyrian Star Empire.  The Lyrians have made successfully seceded from the Klingons, and after the Kessok Affair in the Maelstrom system, the last thing the region of space needs is conflict and uncertainty.

As a result, Deep Space Twelve is getting an upgrade, and the newly reformed Twelfth Fleet under the command of Admiral Alice Liu.  The U.S.S. Sovereign is named the flagship of the fleet, and other famous ships have been assigned to the fleet, such as the U.S.S. Hornet, Nightingale, and the Lyla James, all ships with Commendations of Valor for their actions in recent conflicts.  However, like everyone in the Alpha and Beta Quadrant, the Federation suffered severe casualties, and as such shipyards were being pushed beyond capacity to produce ships to account for the shortages and gaps in Star Fleet.

Current open ships are a Sovereign Class Advanced Heavy Cruiser, the U.S.S. Resolute, a Steamrunner Class Advanced Heavy Destroyer, a Akira class escort carrier variant, a Nebula class medical/science cruiser, and a Klingon Defense Force K'Vort class reconnaissance and exploration Bird of Prey.  All are multi-purpose ships to fit any role needed, from scientific exploration to in depth diplomatic state missions.

These will be your stories, your tales on how you and your crew would become the next legendary members of Star Fleet or honored heroes of the Klingon Empire.  In order for it to happen it will need your imagination, your creativity, and your commitment.  I am looking forward to see if anyone else wants to make this take a fictional reality in the Star trek imagined universe.

Players are allowed one Character per active ship, as long as they are not playing the same role (ie if you are the XO of one ship you have to be something other than XO for the other ships.)

This game will be a system game, using Morpheus' Star Trek Adventures RPG.  All books are allowed for the game.   There will be a discord server set up where Character Sheets and game mechanics discussions and Task rolls are carried out.  The story narrative will be in Forum threads  This is not going to come at first come first serve as I do want to have in the game a crew which I think is the right one.  So feel free to pitch me two to three concepts.  You can also pitch the same character concept for different positions.  For example if you wanted to get the XO spot, but are willing to have Chief Tactical Officer, that is fine.  Here is the format to pitch me character concepts.  Also keep in mind it does not mater what position you get as I like to think as a story teller I give everyone a chance to have Big Damn Hero moments.  Something to keep in mind when pitching a concept.  Once I have approved the concept we will move on then to Character Sheets.  I can help with this once you are approved, and when you are I will send out the invites to both the discord server and the character generation link (It creates PDF's and is really slick).

Note: While I am not adverse to smut, this is not a smut oriented game.  This not to say characters are not going to have relationships.  Feel free to do so, only know those scenes will then be spun off into One on One threads and "off screen" of the group game content, and so we are also not halting the game progress because of Oo-max time.  Also this means we do want to keep in the "feel" of Star Trek.  Having an attractive character is fine.  Referring to their package, breasts, open cleavage, or quarter bouncing arse near every pose is not and will turn some players off.  Save such colorful descriptive writing in private One on One threads.

Looking forward to seeing what people come up with.

Character Personnel File
Player ID: Malkavian
Name: Sarah Jessica Myers
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Commanding Officer, U.S.S. Resolute
Rank: Captain
Branch of Service: Command
Major: Command - Advanced Tactics

Character Appearance
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 68 kg
Age: 28
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Build: Athletic
Distinguishing Marks: None

Character Description:

Sarah J. Myers is a striking young woman of mixed Asian descent. She possesses an athletic build and, though not particularly tall, carries herself with a grace and confidence that is utterly captivating. Quick to laugh and generous with her smiles, the young Captain nevertheless commands any room she enters by virtue of her strong voice and raw, radiant charisma.

Personality:
Despite her young age and brief tenure as Captain, Sarah J. Myers has taken to the role like one born to it. Out of uniform and away from the pressures of command, Myers is likable and easy to talk to, understanding and thoughtful; when on duty, she is commanding and confident, and those in her orbit cannot help but trust in her and the orders she issues. Those who know Myers best understand her to be idealistic and resolute, unwavering in her commitment to Starfleet and the principles upon which it was founded.

Other Info: "Sarah Jessica Myers is a 24th century Human female born in San Francisco in the Earth Year 2343. Her parents are Jason Richard Myers and Abigail Myers, both employees of Starfleet Fleet Yards, where they continue to serve with distinction as engineers. According to comments made by Myers during her initial interview for Starfleet, both parents - and their work on Federation ships - were one of the biggest reasons for her pursuing a career as a Starfleet Officer.

"Passing the Entrance Examinations at the age of eighteen with exceptional results, Myers continued to excel throughout her four years at Starfleet Academy. Her talent for leadership and smart, intuitive decision-making made her a natural fit for the Command Track, which she took to with considerable enthusiasm. Her instructors predicted a bright future for her within Starfleet - and no sooner had she graduated did she receive her first assignment aboard the U.S.S. Odyssey under the command of Captain Velik.

"Although Captain Velik was known to be highly critical and exacting of the officers on his vessel, his reports spoke often and glowingly of then-Ensign Myers. In particular, he commended her ability to remain calm under pressure, as well as her analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving. As these qualities are prized by Vulcans, and by Velik in particular, it is unsurprising that he included her more and more frequently on matters relating to the starship's given assignments. It is clear that he valued Myer's input and contributions - as her quick ascension up the chain-of-command aboard the U.S.S. Odyssey demonstrated.

"In the Earth Year 2367, the U.S.S. Odyssey - and her sister ship, the U.S.S. Trafalgar - were the first Federation vessels to encounter the Borg in the Alpha Quadrant - specifically a scout ship sent ahead of the forces that would move on Wolf 359. In the ensuing skirmish, the U.S.S. Trafalgar was severely damaged and rendered defenceless, whilst the U.S.S. Odyssey suffered a direct hit, resulting in the death of Captain Velik and his Executive Officer, Commander Miles Penn. Through necessity, Myers - the most senior officer remaining - assumed command and, through a series of ingenious tactical manoeuvres, managed to cripple the Borg ship, all while keeping the U.S.S. Trafalgar from coming under further enemy fire. As a result of its damaging, the Borg vessel self-destructed, freeing both the Trafalgar and Odyssey to make for the safety of Federation space.

"Before either ship could return, however, the attack on Wolf 359 began in earnest; in response to the news, Myers took the damaged U.S.S. Odyssey into the fray and - despite the considerable damage already done to the Intrepid-class ship - further demonstrated exemplary strategic brilliance throughout the conflict. By the time the fighting had concluded the Odyssey was all but destroyed - yet her crew was alive and largely unscathed, thanks in no small part to the decision-making of her acting-captain.

"In the aftermath of Wolf 359, the U.S.S. Odyssey was removed from service due to its extensive damage, and it's name given to a Galaxy-class in the fleet; her crew was given the opportunity to recuperate on Earth. Captain Velik was honoured posthumously for his courageous actions after Myers delivered a detailed and glowing report on her fallen Commanding Officer's conduct and diligence despite the apparent hopelessness of the situation; the Odyssey's crew, too, was spoken of in the most complimentary of terms, with numerous names being forwarded onto the Admiralty for special mention and acknowledgement.

"For her own part in the conflict with the Borg scout ship, and for her actions during the attack on Wolf 359, Myers was awarded both the Grankite Order of Tactics and the Starfleet Award for Valour, as well as a promotion to Captain - an advancement in rank given with the full and enthusiastic blessing of Starfleet Command. At the time of her ascendance to the position of Commanding Officer, Myers was just twenty-four years old, making her the youngest person in Federation record to ever hold the role.

"Against my personal recommendation, Myers was initially given command only over smaller Federation vessels, both of which were situated away from areas of Federation space where her skills might be put to considerable use. She remained in such isolated placements for four years until the Admiralty finally saw fit to give her a command more beneficial to the Federation - that of the newly-finished Sovereign-class U.S.S. Resolute. With the starship ready for a crew, Myers was recalled to Earth in order to oversee the final stages of its deployment preparation, as well as to approve the assignment of her bridge crew and senior staff.

"On a personal note, it was a pleasure to be the one to reveal to Myers that the Resolute was created using the remnants of the U.S.S. Odyssey she had served upon four years before: it helps to feel a personal connection with your ship, and it was clear from our conversation that the young Captain's enthusiasm for her appointment has heightened considerably in the wake of that revelation." - Admiralty Comments: Fleet Admiral Shanthi

Example of what I am looking for.  As far as the other notes, as long as it is not too crazy, feel free to write as much as you wan.

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID: Blackstone (GM Character)
Name: Alison Coles
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Command Bosun, Senior Noncommissioned Officer
Rank: Command Master Chief Petty Officer
Branch of Service: Command, Security, Conn
Major: Conn-Flight Operations shuttle craft

Character Appearance
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 70 kg
Age: 42
Hair Color: Brown with golden highlights
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Build: Fit and athletic
Distinguishing marks: Small scar on right cheek near her mouth

Character Description:

Alison possesses rich, nut brown skin and wavy, crinkly hair which seems wild like a peacock's plume when it is loose and flowing.  Her hair is a rich brown which fades to a near gold color at it tips.  She possesses intense and intelligent eyes which gives the impression sometimes of her knowing something the person she is looking at does not.  While she is lithe, she possesses wide shoulders, and has a fairly compact and dense muscle mass which surprises many people the first time they engage her in hand to hand combat.  She possessed near limitless amounts of endurance and can run or operate at highly physical activities for hours before becoming fatigued.

Personality:
Command Chief Coles has been around for a long while, and knows the ins and out of Star Fleet.  As such he possesses keen judgment and knows when it is time to stick to the letter of the regulations, and when it is a teaching moment for one of her junior enlisted.  She possesses a fiercely loyalty, and dedicated to the mission which is Starfleet.  She is not quick to anger, but she does not shy away from combat either, seeing it as her duty to protect the senior officers on an away mission if the situation turns hostile.  Her one true love in life is flying however, and whenever she gets the chance, she does so, preferring the use of shuttlecrafts to transporters when given the choice.  Her one flaw is a severe bias against Cardacians, though she never explains why.

Other Info: Alison Coles ahs served on a number of ships during her twenty-four service in Starfleet, and has had a long and distinguished career.  Some of the more notable ships she has served on have been the Hawking, Saipan, Grayson, Stargazer, and Chekov.  She has been involved in several first contact missions, but her two medals of valor come from combat.  The first was during the Cardacian War, when on an away mission Chief Coles lead a security and search and rescue team on a hostile planet to rescue crew members from the U.S.S. Tarawa which had to abandon ship in the battle of Trevor's Star.  The second commendation came when she was serving onboard the U.S.S Chekov which had encountered the Borg.  Chief Coles organized the near complete crew evacuation of the ship onto shuttles and lead the convoy out of danger.  The Chekov did survive the battle, but Chief Coles actions saved hundred of lives during the fight.  The Master's Chie's last assignment was with the U.S.S. Dauntless, which was lost to rogue Cardacian forces during the Kessok Affair.  Master Chief Coles was wounded during the battle, but was evacuated and rescued by the U.S.S. Sovereign.  After a months recovery at Deep Space 12, Alison was assigned to the newly inbound ship, the U.S.S. Resolute.  It does not come as much surprise given her years of experience she would be assigned to the latest Sovereign class ship out of space dock, certain her command and life experiences will have the enlisted crew running smoothly.  Once she hammered out the kinks.

Outcast

I'm distinctly tempted to apply (most likely going for a Bajoran; a child of interstellar refugees rather than resistance fighters against the Occupation) - but somewhat wary of the impact of my very limited credentials as a Trek fan, in combination with a totally-unfamiliar game system.  ;D

I'll have a better peer at the rules, and try to figure out if I should be looking at a 20 year-old fresh out of the Academy or a veteran officer.

Are there any particular requests / suggestions for roles that would best suit a Bajoran?

If it helps, I'm pretty much a Trek newbie, too, but like what I have seen so far (which is pretty minimal, admittedly). However, I know the system quite well, so can help there.

It would be a learning experience for near everyone, but come on Outcast, you know you want to go down that rabbit hole with me.  :)

Quote from: Outcast on March 06, 2021, 07:11:16 AMAre there any particular requests / suggestions for roles that would best suit a Bajoran?

I don't know much about them beyond their pre-War occupation by the Cardassians, and their belief in the Prophets. But any role could work, I think, given that the only claimed roles so far are Captain and Command Bosun?

BlackStone

I have someone putting together a Chief Medical Officer., other then that sky is the limit.  Bajoran wormhole happened two years before the year the game so there would be bajoran officers in Star Fleet, at least more than there was during TNG.

Outcast

The Occupation seems to have been in place for ~40 years until it ended in '69, so even a 40 year-old character could have been born to refugee parents; even one several years older than that might not remember Bajor itself.  That gives me quite enough scope to pick an age that best suits whatever the character turns out to be.

I've skimmed through the chargen rules and had a peer at the system mechanics.  It seems to be the case that any species can do pretty much any role as well as anyone else, which is an unusual (but nice) design choice!  I just didn't want to sign up for something that might seem interesting, only to wind up hurting the party because my chosen species was deemed perpetually inferior in a given field.

I'm somewhat tempted to go for either Conn or Security (to try to get away from my usual diplomacy & healing people paths) as the prime focus.  Though I'm a little wary of being any sort of combatant in a Trek game, let alone one taking place on a forum, both Diciplines do seem to provide a range of interesting options for unusual uses.  But either a chief of security or

Nice. I don't know much about Trek (still learning), but I liked the Bajoran occupation storyline. :D

Outcast

I've bookmarked (on Netflix) a The Next Generation episode that apparently introduced the whole storyline, before DS9 made it the foundation of the backstory for its 'local space' setting.

I figured that seeing the introduction of it all might be illuminating.  And easier to manage than 'watch all of DS9'. ;D

What episode is that? I should do the same.

Raziel

While it helps setup the story, the Bajorians weren't really covered and explored until Deep Space Nine, that being said there are some key episodes of DS9 that cover the Bajorians. Season 1, Episode 9 of DS9 called Duet might be a good one to check out and DS9 Season 5, Episode 8 called Things Past as well  If you haven't yet I'd recommend  at the very least reading up on the The Occupation if you haven't since that a key part of Bajorian history. In fact the episode Things Past is set during the Occupation so it would show you a little of what life was like for Bajorians during those times.

"Ensign Ro" - Season 5, Episode 3.  Introduced one of the big fan-favourite characters I've heard enthused about over the years (Ro Laren), as well as the Bajor-Cardassia situation, the existence of refugee camps, terrorists, Bajorans in Starfleet, etc.

I've seen a random assortment of DS9 episodes over the years and have picked up a moderate understanding of things, though I've also been doing research online today.  I didn't want to get caught up in specific events and timings on Bajor - hence some of the appeal to having come from a refugee settlement.  The Federation might well seem like a very good way out of a bad situation, and offer at least a faint hope of helping to influence it to help.  That it's now (by the time of the game) doing so, with the end of the Occupation and friendly contact established with Bajor, will be very welcome. :)

Some things are not set in stone.  Right now I believe forum posts which tell only the dramatic story telling is better than one which has the story and game mechanics in the same post.  Shoving the game mechanics such as "I pull a Sulu and stab the Cardass8an through the heart" and roll dice can be more flexible hashed out on a discord channel.  We can plot ahead of time, roll dice, and players can write their post knowing if they passed or failed.

BlackStone

Speaking of DS 9, anything after season 3 happens after events 8n game, and the Voyager mission hasn't happened yet.   Star Trek Generations has. Star Trek First Contact not yet.

Malkavian

No doubt Myers will want to speak with the Bajoran character in-depth about the occupation and such, where comfortable/possible. Being that she is pretty much a mesh-up of Kirk and Picard (two arguably polar opposites), she's as curious as she is pragmatic, and it helps to learn about things like this, even if it doesn't relate to the immediate mission (at least not outside of similarities with someone breaking away from the Klingons).

Looking forward to the Discord channel coming up so we can discuss this all in more depth. :D I might finally be able to play in a Star Trek game properly!

IIRC, the producers were desperate for Sisko's actor to separate the character from the one for which he had been best-known till then - so put a ban on him either shaving his head or having a beard.  Only once a few seasons had passed did they relent... and 'badass Sisko' duly made his appearance. ;)

I did want to reassure players interested to take your time.  I understand people are busy and I tossed a lot of background into this more so than some typical Star trek game, and it is not strictly adhering to canon as some games either.  Do feel free to hit me up for questions.

To help folks come up with backgrounds.

Starfleet Awards and Commendations

For example, Master Chief Petty Officer has earned the Starfleet Medal and the Cross of Alexander for her heroics during her career.   I will ask to keep things from being "hero" bloated no one with more than two major commendations, and none of them can be the Medal of Valor.

Malkavian

Myers has two, as per her approved background: Grankite Order of Tactics and Starfleet Award for Valour.

Aiming for the Starfleet Medal of Honour one day though. :D

Weight: 125 Lb and/or 56.7 Kg
Age: 28
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Athletic
Distinguishing marks: Has the typical Trill markings from brow to toes.

Character Description:
Dr. Yosreed Lahl is an attractive Trill female.  A warm, friendly white smile and bright blue eyes greet those who meet her. Sandy colored blonde hair falls past the tip of her scapula, and often conceals the brown Trill markings, or spots, along her forehead.  Because of this and her pride in being a Joined member of her species, she often wears her hair back in a loose tail or tight braid.  Even when the situation requires the doctor to be stern with a patient, her warm and caring demeanor is only ever slightly diminished.  When not wearing her medical uniform, she prefers to wear form-fitting attire which proudly displays her heritage; the Trill markings which travel vertically from the top of her brow, along the border of her face, past her ears and down her neck and shoulders, along the front of her torso, along the outside of her legs, and end at the tips or her toes.

Personality:
Dr. Yosreed is a calm and collected young woman with a penchant for adventure and excitement.  She possesses a natural curiosity which is only tempered by a scientific and medical mind.  Her Joined nature grants her a predisposition to appreciate each moment, even the most mundane, and a desire to experience nearly every instant to its fullest extent.  She has a strong disposition to care for the sick and injured, and a fierce loyalty to her patients, only superseded by that of her Starship and crew.

Other Info: Yosreed Nedan was born on the home world of Trill.  The second daughter and third child of Chief Engineer Bejal Nedan and xenobiologist, Emony Nedan.  As a child - like many other of her species - she began to aspire and desire the Joining.  This was only fueled and fed by her uncle’s stories who was also a Joined Trill.  The lifetimes of knowledge and memories, the fact her own experiences would be preserved for generations, and the respect and idealization her culture placed on gaining a symboint.

At a very young age, Yosreed showed an aptitude with the sciences, specifically the natural sciences.  Much to her father’s disappointment, Yosreed only ever took a passing interest in engineering, cybernetics, quantum physics, or any of the other myriad subjects he exposed her to.  Instead, she was always in her mother’s shadow.  Assisting with her mother’s research from her earliest memories.  Her sister and brother, both older, tried their most to distinguish themselves and excel, but Yosreed was able to keep pace, and even surpass them by the time she was entering adolescence.

At the age of sixteen, Yosreed decided she wanted to enroll in Starfleet.  She believed in Starfleet’s mission, felt it would be a natural way to meet and experience other cultures and species, and if she failed to qualify for a symbiont, she would at least have a single lifetime of adventure.

She passed the Academy’s entry exam at the age of seventeen.  A few months after her eighteenth birthday, she enrolled and entered Starfleet Academy.  Upon her second year, she began to focus her studies on the medical arts.  She caught the eye of her teachers and the Academy’s senior staff through her exemplary grades, ability to handle stress under the most dire of circumstances, and a precise delicate surgeon’s touch.  Knowing that she needed to stand out from other symboint candidates, Yosreed joined the Velocity team and also majored in virology and genetics.  During her fifth and sixth year, her residency years, she served aboard the medical ship U.S.S. Nightingale.

During her two year tenure aboard the Nightingale, she reported directly to Chief Medical Officer Emily Burnett.  Burnett was a strict and demanding C.O., and Yosreed learned everything from bedside manner to surgical technique.  During her tenure, she assisted in countless surgeries, a dozen humanitarian rescue first response missions, and even studied an advanced and extremely contagious strain of Romulan Flu.

At the age of twenty-five, Yosreed graduated Valedictorian of her class.  She was also accepted as an Initiate by the Symbiosis Commission.  Having earned her choice of posts in the fleet, Yosreed chose to return to the Nightingale as a Lieutenant, lower grade.  Within months of taking her post, the Nightingale responded to a distress call from Delamb V.  Upon reaching orbit of the planet, it became evident that the colonies on the surface were experiencing a global plague.  Dr. Burnett selected Yosreed for the away team, and then ordered a planet-wide quarantine.  On the surface, the team quickly learned the plague had already spread to forty percent of the population and had a 76% mortality rate.  Practically three out of four people who contracted the disease died from it.  Working under the most stressful conditions, the team began to study the epidemiology of the contagion and the guesswork in synthesizing a viable remedy.  Within a week of beaming to the surface, half of the team of six were ordered to bed-rest.  A few days later, only Yosreed and Dr. Burnett were capable of performing their duties, and both had begun to show the early-onset symptoms.  When Dr. Burnett succumbed to the illness, it was left to Yosreed to string together the last of the DNA sequencing.  Pushed past her physical limits, she was able to complete the sequencing for the antigen, and send her work to the Nightingale who, with Yosreed’s recommendation, synthesized an aerosol delivery system and saturated the planet’s atmosphere with the cure.  To the team’s credit, 99% of those who had been inflicted with the disease were symptom free within days.  When the quarantine was cleared and the away team returned to the Nightingale, they were each awarded the Legion of Merit.  For overcoming enormous odds and performing her duties with extraordinary ability, Yosreed also received the Distinguished Service medal, and was promoted to Lieutenant.

Six months later, she received the Lahl symbiont and became Yosreed Lahl.   Lahl was a young symbiont, only having lived one lifetime before being joined to Yosreed.  Malko Lahl, the previous host, was a Trill Ambassador who had spent most of his life on Earth where he had the opportunity to raise a family.  Yosreed had met him only a year earlier, when she had first become an Initiate.  She remembered him speaking fondly of hoping his next life would bring more adventure.  He’d also even made a comment about wanting to experience life as a female.  Those memories helped guide her to request the symbiont when she learned of Malko’s worsening condition.

Life as Yosreed Lahl was different, and despite returning to her position aboard the U.S.S. Nightingale, things weren’t the same.  Within a few months, she requested a transfer with the belief that an entirely new start would be beneficial.  Always ambitious, she studied and then applied for the tests which distinguished command officers.  A year after she first requested transfer, she passed the qualifications for her next promotion.  However, it wasn’t until she had spent three full years of exemplary service aboard the Nightingale that the Admiralty finally granted her request for transfer and promoted her to Lieutenant Commander.  She was transferred to the newly constructed U.S.S. Resolute where she would take on the responsibilities of the Chief Medical Officer.

Outcast

#41
Character Personnel File
Player ID: Outcast
Name: Letara Seriah
Gender: Female
Race: Bajoran

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief of Security
Rank: Happy to go with whatever best fits - Lieutenant or a brand new Lieutenant Commander, perhaps
Branch of Service: Operations - Security
Major: Security

Character Appearance
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140lb
Age: 27
Hair Color: Light brown (slight auburn tint)
Eye Color: Hazel
Build: Athletic
Distinguishing marks: Bajoran earpiece (right ear)

Character Description:

Graceful, pretty, proudly erect in posture, and usually alertly attentive.  Out of uniform, Seriah might be taken for a dancer or sportswoman; in it, she looks very much a Security officer. Her Bajoran heritage is clear from both the nose-ridges and the elaborate jewellery attached to her right ear (in her sole departure from standard uniform).  Fair-skinned, she has faintly red-tinged brown hair, and hazel eyes.

Personality:
Intense rather than showy, Seriah tends to hide passionate caring behind a rigidly-controlled facade.  Often so quiet as to be downright taciturn, she can open up into a flood of words when enthused - or on the rare occasions when her ire is truly roused.  Her humour tends to be wry, often slipping into sarcasm, but in spite of an acute awareness of the darkness in the universe she remains obstinately optimistic regarding the possibility of changing things for the better.

Other Info:  Born in 2344, Seriah is the child of parents who had themselves been born after the Cardassian invasion of Bajor.  By the time that she arrived, her kin had progressed from being desperate fugitives to having carved out a niche for themselves on the fringes of their host society.

Established on a space station that served as a trade-hub astride several major routes, her family was part of a syndicate of Bajoran refugees who had turned their ‘despised outsider’ status into an advantage.  Operating in the seedy underbelly of the station’s society and economy, they exploited their position as rootless newcomers to become go-betweens for black- and grey-market operations at both local and interstellar levels.

Seriah duly grew up as a station-rat, assisting her family’s assorted illicit and barely-legal endeavours - while learning to be ever-watchful for hostility from rival operations, law enforcement, and bigots.  By adolescence she had picked up the rudiments of half a dozen languages, learned to take a beating, become an opportunistic thief and an expert sneak.  And she had come to hate almost all of it.

The ‘trading’ syndicate’s leadership liked to talk about working for the greater good of Bajor and its people, but even when they did provide significant aid to some of their cousins it almost always came via criminality - whether on the station, or by fencing goods stolen or smuggled from much farther afield.  Seriah increasingly came to see them as parasites: spouting fine phrases while exploiting other people’s suffering, with even the much talked-of misery of the Bajorans turned into an excuse for profit.

As a native-born resident of the Federation, she had certain rights that many of her older kin did not, and was able to dedicate more and more of her time to formal study.  Though not academically a genius, she was more intensely driven than any other student on the station, and scored exceptionally highly on a number of Starfleet aptitude tests.  At the age of 16 she shocked her family with the news that she was running away from home to become an officer cadet: her path to aiding Bajor would be by winning allies and serving others, rather than profiting from crime.

Unsurprisingly, it was not the happiest of partings… and soon the ex-criminal child of refugees found that she had precious little in common with most other cadets at the Academy.  With little but her studies to occupy her time, she became much more popular with some of her tutors than her peers.  It was one of her lecturers - Veritas Henke - who persuaded her to pursue extra-curricular activities, helping her to discover an exceptional talent for more than one form of martial arts... and with it, some talent for leadership.

Four years later, she had become not only an ensign in Starfleet but a more balanced, confident, and capable young woman.  Her passions still ran deep - as they do to this day - but time and even a few friendships at the Academy had helped her to learn to keep them under fierce control.

Since then, she has been on several tours of duty - with most of her service predictably mundane in nature, though her unconventional background has at points been of direct use.  Most notably, she was involved in an undercover operation that went horribly awry… courtesy of events far away in space.  While Starfleet was being torn apart at the Battle of Wolf 359, Seriah was second in command of a team trying to infiltrate and dismantle an arms-trafficking ring.  The ships meant to be standing by to provide support (and seize the smugglers’ vessels) were instead urgently summoned to respond to the Borg emergency, leaving the ground team without back-up when they were caught in an ambush by a rival operation.

Though seriously injured herself, Seriah took command when her senior officer was incapacitated by his wounds, and succeeded in extricating her entire team.  She received the Distinguished Service Medal for her command decisions, the Pike Medallion for Heroic Injury (“the Wounded Lion”), and shortly thereafter promotion to Lieutenant.

Nominally as part of her recuperation, she was given a ‘soft’ assignment as a personal aide and pilot for Veritas Henke, now the Dean and Commandant of Cadets at Starfleet Academy as well as a Rear Admiral.  In reality, she found herself charged with ensuring his personal security, while being taken under the wing of a mentor (and veteran of the Federation’s own Cardassian War) who wanted to help her to fulfill her potential - and who particularly sought to prevent the Bajoran with the troubled past from being typecast as a perennial candidate for undercover postings as a criminal.  Instead, Henke gave her not only the time to regain most of her lost physical vigour, but also taught her the importance of stoic composure.  Ornery determination, a deep well of tightly-controlled fury, and a refusal to give in to fear had all helped to wn her the DSM, but Henke introduced her to the importance of maintaining genuine composure rather than just an outer pretence of it.  And, not least by becoming something close to the father-figure she had spent much of her life yearning for, the ‘Old Man’ helped to draw the introvert a little farther out of her shell.

A posting that had initially seemed as if it would entail no more than a few weeks as a chauffeur turned into a years-long association.  Seriah came to welcome not only Veritas’s company and gentle wisdom, but also the opportunities to further her studies through her renewed access to the Academy.  She came to enjoy a significant degree of happiness, and after the liberation of Bajor the former station-rat even found faith in the will of the Prophets and the bright destiny of her people - things that had so often seemed like foolish dreams were now becoming true in her own lifetime.  And Starfleet so clearly had a key role to play in it all.

Now, she finds herself with a new posting (which she thinks she owes almost entirely to Admiral Henke) and fresh responsibilities in protecting a whole collection of heroic officers.  She is also pleasantly surprised to find herself with no small degree of hopeful enthusiasm regarding their own role: maybe this crew really can play a part in shaping a bright future.

Name: Bass Th'ichalloq AKA "The Bass-Thich"
Gender: Male
Race: Andorian

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: 1st Officer
Rank: Commander
Branch of Service: Command
Major: Command

Character Appearance
Height: 188 cm
Weight: 85 Kg
Age: Low 30's
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Muscular
Distinguishing marks: There is a rather dramatic scar above his right eye, starting near where the eye socket meets the nose and continuing past the antennae and going under his hairline. His medical records will also show that the corresponding antennae was regenerated and that most of his fingers, toes, and the eye that corresponds to his scar are all biosynthetic.

Character Description:

Muscular and with a posture that tells you instantly that he's a graduate of Laikan Military Academy, it sometimes seems like he doesn't wear the uniform so much as it holds him back. Does keep his hair short as per regulation but feels naked without some facial hair. Is fully aware that the scar on his face could be removed but refuses to do so out of principle.

Personality:
There's a reason he's been nicknamed "The Bass-Thich", intentionally coming close to but not quite copying a set of syllables that are dirty words in multiple languages. Because he has a rare combination of Ruthlessness and Tactical-Mindedness that can be horrifying to behold but is better on your side. He's been honed like an Ushaan-Tor and knows it, and he uses it so others don't have to. It's not that he doesn't believe in the principles of the Federation, far from it. It's just he knows this is a cold universe where the ideals of the Federation are outright childish at times - but he prefers the fantasy to reality.

Other Info: Bass is a Survivor of the Failed Colony of Almaria. How it failed exactly is still a mystery, all that's known is that Almaria was on a planet where it was a known fact that the winters could get too cold even for Andorians and somehow the environmental control failed and wasn't fixable. About 80% of the colonists froze to death before help could arrive, the then teenage Bass had frostbite so bad that he actually lost most of his fingers, all of his toes, one of his antennae, and one of his eyes. When rescued he still managed to stay conscious long enough to tell rescuers where more survivors were.

When he healed and the lost parts replaced the now orphaned Bass was offered a sponsorship with Laikan Military Academy, which he graduated with distinction and used to apply to Starfleet. He believes he survived for a reason, and Starfleet may be the best way to find the reason. His instructors at Laikan and Starfleet Academy could tell right away that this cadet was someone to watch, as he just has that Will. You can see it in his eyes.

He picked up the nickname "The Bass-Thich" during his Kobayashi Maru "No-Win-Scenario" Exam when he actually "beat" it - by maneuvering the simulated Romulan Warbirds near the titular ship then blowing up the Kobayashi Maru himself to take the Warbirds with it. It's not that he didn't try to rescue the civilians, but when it became obvious that the Romulans in the Simulation had made that impossible he figured a quick death was preferable, and there was a good chance the whole scenario was a Romulan trap anyway. Most certainly not a Win, but he ended the simulation with his crew still alive unlike how it usually ends.

Bass was serving on the USS Tolstoy at Wolf 359. The battle proper killed his captain even before they were boarded by Borg intending to assimilate the crew. The crew of the Tolstoy fought valiantly but when the Borg had captured Main Engineering and assimilated the 1st Officer and the Chief Engineer in the process Bass figured the ship was lost, so he gave the order to Abandon Ship, intentionally set the life support to literally freeze out the compromised decks, set the self-destruct, then maneuvered the Tolstoy so that when the warp core went it would take out a large chunk of the Cube with it. We'll never know if his plan would have worked, one of the other ships teleported him to an escape pod before he was done setting his trap. There are murmurs that there's no way he could have known *for sure* that everyone on those decks wasn't already assimilated, though he insists he did know. It was also discovered later that it is possible to liberate someone assimilated by the Borg, though nobody knew that at the time.

What's also unknown is what exactly he did the next few years, as it's actually classified by Starfleet under "Task Force Omega". The scar over his right eye though is new, and in "Task Force Omega" he seems to have picked up some handy experience with Klingons that can prove useful for this mission. If they survive that long.

Her head is crowned with what can only be described as bone ridges, covered in the same skin as the rest of her, and sweep up over her “Hairline”  for formal things she is known to fasten metal ornaments to them to make them glisten in the light even more. She has no ears or nose, just two delicate slits above her lips apparently for breathing. Her fingers are also strange, as they have no nails and contain 6 joints in total, giving them a long spindly appearance. Star fleet has made sure that her equipment has been adjusted to her unique anatomy as needed.
Character Description:
Laeli is unique because she is the only recorded member of her race, and the only member of star fleet who can place her place of birth at the great library of information known as Memory Alpha. She was discovered on an exotic jungle planet as a large seed the size of an American football and brought back to  Memory Alpha to study as a plant sample, and as all discoveries where made they preserved the seed and put it away to be studied later. Time passed and the seed remained in the dark, pulled out to be evaluated and studied and then put away.  Eventually the mysterious seed was acquired by Doctor Leeland Cosk, a Xenobotnanist who wanted to see if he could make the sample grow, and perhaps see how it could be adapted to become useful in his biological life support program.  So he gathered the dirt samples that came with the plant and then used potting soil to help with the rest, and then a flower did bloom, a tall thing with a bright green stem and a brush of purple petals. The man was delighted and stated to run tests,  The plant proved to be strangely sentient. The head would follow the man around the room, like a plant followed sun. It would shimmy and shake to Music that it liked and even shudder with mirth at jokes that the Doctor would tell it. Eventually becoming more of a house pet than a house plant. But al that changed one day...the plant grew a large bulbous growth and started to die.

Everyone tried everything they could to save the flower that had become the mascot of the botany department. Every scan they did, the sticky sap within would shield it from their instruments, and it went from being a rescue mission to a scientific exploratory surgery.  As they laid the tumor down and cut it open, they where surprised when a tiny green  hand slipped out of the clear sap and started to feel around, the more the team started to peel the Tumor away, the more they found that there was a sentient life form inside. The team had accidnetly  grew a small child.  She was bright and intelliganet. And seemed to react to the people's  feelings until she started to learn the speech of others. Giving rise to the fact that this strange little green girl wasn't just a  mimic of a sentient being but a real being that reasoned on it's own.
But this left them with a problem, a big problem..The planet that she was on was considered primitive, and under the auspices of the prime directive, with no way to contact her people or even find them. Starfleet had a problem..who was going to take care of this strange little girl.  Doctor Cosk ended up taking responsibility for her, and she was given a Federation ID and  the good doctor. named her Lalie after  the latin name for his favorite breed of Orchid.
Thus began her weird existence, the Doctor would study and test her, by day and  raise her as his daughter by night. Helping find out what her strange body needed and how to care for her became his full time job for many years. up until his death due to Illness.  That was when the grown woman had choices. And she chose to follow in her “Fathers” footsteps and come to Starfleet as a science cadet with a focus in Tereforming and Xenobotony.

Personality: Laeli is hard to pin down, she is pleasant enough and does her duity as required but she is shy almost retiring, often begging off crew activities to tend plants in her garden. Mostly this is chalked ot her unique upbringing in Memory Alpha and living a rather isolated early childhood. She will open up eventually she just takes time and Patience. Once you break her quiet outer shell there is a sharp witted woman who enjoys laughing and playing music.

Other Info: She has a few biological quirks. One is she sleeps in soil at night, starfleet has helped her by giving her a photon torpedo tube that she has converted into a bed so she can sleep at night comfortably. In her sleep she grows roots and she gains nourishment from the soil. She lacks a traditional digestive system, and when examined her throat has an epiglottis to keep foreign bodies out of her lungs, but that's about it. She can use her mouth to drink but she can't metabolize alcohol in any form as it dries her out. Her preferred method of drinking is to sink one of her fingers in water which grows porous and draws the water into her system.

The Resolute still has two openings for Diplomatic Officer as well as Chief Engineer.   The away team is currently on an geodetic dome organic ship which came from beyond the Milky Way on a collision course to an inhabited planet.

Also the Resolute is not the only ship in the 12th Fleet and I am entertaining crew members for either the U.S.S. Hornet or the Lyla James to join in on the exploration and protection of the Maelstrom Cluster.  See the links on fist post to see if what we have going on perks your interest.

BlackStone

Looking for new blood to help move the story along.  It would not take too much for people to catch up on.   Here are the roles which would have impact on the current and future plots.

Roles Wanted
Deputy Chief Medical Officer who will become Chief Medical Officer once the current act is done
Chief Engineer
Diplomatic Envoy

All senior or junior officers for the either the U.S.S. Hornet of U.S.S. Lyla James

We do have a Discord server for OOC as well as game mechanics discussions/rolls so players know the outcomes so they can post successes or failures.  Any questions please let me know.

Hello!

Soooo... can I join..?

I don’t speak for the GM, but I’d give pretty good odds. What did you have in mind for a character?

Sure, needed roles are on the front page.  Diplomatic envoy is in the works by Wolfing but the other two are free and clear, as are other junior officer positions.

I think we could make just about anything work. Of special note, our CMO is leaving if you want a quick promotion. :P

#63
T'sarel

Character Personnel File
Player ID: Wolfi
Name: T'sarel
Gender: Female
Race: Vulcan

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Envoy
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Branch of Service: Starfleet Diplomatic Corp
Major: Diplomacy and Political Science (Command)

Character Appearance
Height: 5'6" / 167.6 cm
Weight: 120 Lbs / 54.43 kg
Age: 45
Hair Color: Darkest Auburn
Eye Color: Honey Brown
Build: Compactly muscled and lean
Distinguishing marks: Missing pinky on the left hand

Character Description:

T'sarel has flawless almond-shaded skin and long wavy hair that she chooses to keep up and out of her face when on duty. She is built much like a gymnast and moves with all of the grace of a prima ballerina. Her voice is soft, lyrical, and wholly at odds with the sharp slope of her eyebrows and the usual blankness of her expression. She speaks concisely and allows no room for misinterpretation.

Personality:

Logical to the point of coldness in most interactions, T'sarel very rarely loses sight of the task at hand. She is focused on making things as easy as possible for the disparate people she deals with in her job and journey. She does not have a sense of humor by most standards, and anyone would rarely mistake her for happy, even if she is. Laughter is a rarity, and though most people who come into contact with her understand that she is highly analytical, it does make her an odd fit for the Diplomatic Corps. She does not allow that to dissuade her from her sworn duty.

Other Info: The first Assignment?

Some things only make sense when you know the whole story. How did a relatively unknown and untried junior attache end up stationed at the embassy on Andor? Rank and file would not do for such a contentious assignment, but she was tapped to go. There was much to learn, tempers to ease, calls to be made when the Ambassador was filled to the brim with the vitriolic quips and asides of the populace (which happened almost daily)

She must have left a good impression, though, as no complaints were registered in her name upon her departure.

What about the scientific attache positions?

There were two separate runs, as I am sure you know. The first put T'sarel into contact with the life form known as Rainchild, an anomaly but interesting. The testing and such created a viable bridge for those in the scientific community to share knowledge and theories. Quite a few of Starfleet's command earned more than a bit of cache with that simple "meet and greet" and are still learning about comparable life forms - even now. However, the second attachment was a trifle "difficult."

She was tasked to join the Nightingale on one of its duty tours. You heard what happened? The battle of Wolf 359. Ships disintegrated, thousands dead. There had been so much destruction that ended before a real chance to engage had been granted. How can one fight oneself? It was reported that she acquitted herself well, jumping in to triage survivors and running diagnostic equipment. Her attention to duty and detail save a fair few lives.

The previous assignment?

Well, officially, T'sarel was brought on as a cultural attache for the Vulcan Embassy on Bajor, BUT she did a bit more than that. You recall what that mess was, right? Bajorans were dying in droves, large swathes of land were plundered. There had been multiple reports but no actual proof, no reason to involve the Fleet. It would have caused too much trouble. So, it was whispered that she was responsible for helping to gather proof. Pictures. Recordings. Lists of who and where and why.

There are also tales of her providing weaponry to the guerilla warriors, teaching them tactics in secret. However, no one has proof of that, and honestly, it doesn't seem logical, and isn't cold logic a Vulcan thing? Regardless, she had quite a bit to do with the Cardassian withdrawal, or at least that's what I've heard. Anyway, there has to be some truth to the stories, right?

Why else would she be the face for our diplomats now?

And...DONE!

LOL I can help

For rank it would be Envoy, whose equivalent rank in Starfleet would be Lieutenant Commander

Branch of Service is Starfleet Diplomatic Corps, they are civilian branch of Starfleet whose primary mission is diplomacy.  They are often present for official first contact missions and other diplomatic missions for Starfleet and the Federation.

Major would be Command as in the game system used the key talents for Diplomacy are there, but for rp purposes it would be Diplomacy and Political Science.

She should be newly raised to her rank from Attaché so her assignment to the Resolute is the first ship in the role.  As for past assignments here is what I would I would build your background behind.

Vulcan cultural attaché for the Vulcan embassy on Andor.  It would be considered one of their more challenging starting career assignments due to the Andorans long regarded distrust of Vulcans (and gives you rp hooks with the First Officer).

The next two assignments we can be as scientific attaché first for Vulcan to Starfleet medical.  One of the cases you were involved in would have been was with Laeli Rainchild as the only registered member of her species and her evaluation for fitness to attend Starfleet Academy giving you the connection to Rainchild.

The second such assignment would be serving on board the Nightingale during one of her tours of duty.  Your character would have been at Wolf 359, serving as an additional helping hand to one of the many medical teams as your presence would have allowed them to be freed up for medical treatments as your character could have operated diagnostic equipment.  This also allows you plot hook connections, again with the Command Bosun, Bass, and the Captain, as both are survivors of the battle.

The fourth major assignment would have your characters as being officially on the books as cultural attaché for the Vulcan embassy on Bajor to the Cardassian government, but in reality it would have been as intelligence attaché to both Vulcan and Starfleet Intelligence, investigating the Cardassian atrocities against the Bajoran people.  Again this serves as another plot hook, this one with our very own chief of security.

I would flower it up with your own words, but I think the above, as well as your making your character a "big damned hero" in her four assignments above, which earned her promotion and being the Diplomatic Corps face in the Maelstrom sector in an effort to head off at the pass another Kessok incident.  The Kessok were a race in the computer game Star Trek Bridge Commander.  They were manipulated and lied to by the Cardassian True Way, and had their technology perverted into weapons of mass destruction which lead to the death of two star systems.   The theory is now by having the Diplomatic Corps on board one of their front line exploration ships they can be there for first contact with other races and prevent other galactic power from using alien life native to the sector in such a wrong way.

For the Lyla James!

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID: TheVillain
Name: Jacob "Captain Jack" Reno
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Flight Control
Rank: Chief Petty Officer
Branch of Service: Command
Major: Navigation

Character Appearance
Height: 185 cm
Weight: 75 Kg
Age: Low-to-Mid 30's
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Moderate Excercise
Distinguishing marks: It's less about anything specific and more how he carries himself. Like he knows a few tricks you don't, and he's got a plan.

Character Description:

Looks like he should be a little old for this and he knows it, as he's at least a decade older then the average Academy Graduate. 6'1" with short black hair, he's not exactly muscle bound but he clearly knows how to handle himself with a twinkle if mischief in his eyes.

Personality:
Like he just accidentally stumbled into the uniform out of a poker game and hasn't found his way back yet. He's used to running his own ship his own way, even if it was just a little independent cargo freighter, usually with robotic drones instead of an actual crew. He does however have more space experience then most Captains and by all accounts is a damn fine Pilot. Kept his nickname from his private ship days out of Respect and while he comes off as selfish at times there are others where he has principles he's willing to die for. He often seems to be angling for a promotion, but mostly because he just wants his own quarters for example.

Other Info:
Partial Transcipt of the Trial of Jacob Reno, Captain of the "Jack of Hearts" private cargo ship.
Possession of an Illegal Cloacking Device

"All Rise. And be Seated. Continuing with Proceedings of a Mr. Jacob Reno. Human. Charged with multiple Violations the Federation Treaty of Algeron, of possessing and navigating a private Starship fitted with a Cloaking Device while in Federation Space. I understand Mr. Reno pleads Guilty and is throwing himself on the mercy of the court. At this point I'm just curious why you're representing him Captain zh'Sothi."

"A Matter of Honor, Your Honor. This Human may have broken the law, but not in a way that actually endangers the treaty and in doing so he saved my life. By the Code of Ushaan, I owe a debt that I intend to pay."

"Very well, you may proceed."

"Thank You. Your Honor, Beings of the Jury, and Witnesses before us today - this Human before you is known on our records as Jacob Reno but out in the Stars he is known by another name. 'Captain Jack'. It's only technically correct, he did command a small merchant and cargo vessel known as the Jack of Hearts. Usually it didn't even have a crew and all the work was done by robotic drones. This wasn't always the case.

Jacob Reno is the son of Captain Jewell Reno of the USS Matador which was destroyed by Romulans in a border skirmish when he was a young adolescent. There were other survivors, but Mr. Reno was unable to make it too a shuttle or an escape pod. Mr. Reno only survived by making it into an Extra Vehicular Activity Suit as the Matador was breaking apart. The suits do have small, very limited range distress signals and he was "rescued" obviously. By Ferengi Scavangers.
"

"The Jack of Hearts is *not* a combat ship. It's Shields are moderate for a ship its size at best, it's weapons systems even worse. What the Jack of Hearts does have in abundance though, is Industral-Grade Transporters and a Pilot at the Helm who knew his own ship so well it was practically an extension of his own body.

Your Honor, the Jack of Hearts had no business being near Wolf-359 and was only nearby by sheer chance by his own admission. And We the Defense do not contest that Jacob Reno violated Federation Law with that Cloak but with it and some damn fine Piloting the Jack of Hearts was able to get close enough to use her Industrial Transporters. The Average Humanoid will survive for about 30 seconds in the vacuum of space with no protection of they remember to not try to hold their breath. 30 Seconds. According to Starbase 157, the Jack of Hearts delivored 60 souls from the wreckages of our lost ships at Wolf-359 - including 7 that were in their 30 Seconds.

Since then I've done some asking around, checking of records and things like that. It turns out, 'Captain Jack' has his sensors very finely tuned to listen to distress calls. Usually not the big ones, usually the little ones - the single downed runabouts or the EVA suits separated from their ships or, when the Infinite Heavens decides to bend the rules for a fool just this one, those in their 30 seconds. Would you like to know how many Living Beings that's added up to over time?
"

What happens next, Judge T'sek doesn't show any surprise but Jacob 'Captain Jack' Reno sure as hell did. It's true, he did give a little promise to the Universe after the Matador. That nobody dies alone in the dark like he almost did. He doesn't think of himself as a good man, just someone who knows his way around a Nebulae, a Warp Coil, a Conn, and a Transporter Buffer. But in that Courtroom, people stood for Captain Jack. More then he thought would.

"Jacob Reno broke the Law, but we ask the Court to Rule for Justice, not the Law. We ask that you rule for Honor and the Principles of the Federation, not a mindless clinging to Absolute Law and -"

"That's enough, Captain. Frankly, I think you've overdone it - but you made your point. Mr. Reno - I've also been in your file and I'm seeing the skills you've picked up over the years. While I greatly doubt that what you usually did with that Cloaking Device was so benevolent as what you did at Wolf-359, the usual sentence of 10 to 15 years on a Maximum Security Penal Colony does seem - inappropriate. Therefore the sentence is 7 years, either to be served on New Zealand Minimum Security Penal Colony or in Starfleet. That's a 2 Year Program at Starfleet Technical Services Academy on Mars followed by one 5-year tour of duty. Either way, when your sentence is served the Jack of Hearts will be returned to you, minus the Cloaking Device. Is this an acceptable arrangement, Mr. Reno?"

And with that, 'Captain Jack' just smiles.

Gender: Malko is Male.  Aurin is enjoying that experience.
Race: Joined Trill

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: First Officer
Rank: Commander
Branch of Service: Command
Major: Command

Character Appearance
Height: 6'9”
Weight: 313lbs
Age: 27
Hair Color: Dark Chocolate
Eye Color: Milk Chocolate
Build: Kind of broad in the shoulder and narrow at the hip.
Distinguishing marks: Malko is painfully handsome in a classically masculine fashion.  He's almost too perfect.  (Yes, the spots go all the way down.)
Character Description:  Malko is tall and powerfully built with sculpted and corded muscles.  Broad shouldered and thick limned, muscle comes naturally too him.  His physical prowess, affable nature, and intelligence combine to make him a sought after military field commander.  With golden skin, dark chocolate hair, and milk chocolate eyes,  and dark chocolate spots, Malko is a pleasing study in earth tones.  Some find his perfection disconcerting, though.
Malko favors relaxed but conservative clothing off duty and on.  He doesn't usually flaunt his body.  His medals stay packed away for formal occasions.  He doesn't generally personalize his uniform.  He does like to keep his bat'leth on hand when danger looms.

Personality: Malko has the serenity and confidence of a big dog.  He's well aware that there are things and people in the galaxy that could hurt him—and plenty more that could do so if he got stupid and let them—Malko's physical prowess just makes it easy to be laid back.  There's not a lot he's afraid of.
Malko wasted the emotional quality of his teenage years on resentment and anger.  That's not worth it anymore.  Combined with Aurin's many lifetimes of experience Malko doesn't see much need to sweat the small stuff.
Both components of Aurin Malko are passionate and romantic xenopheliacs.  While this leads to putting a healthy quantity of exertion into romance, it also gives him an  inclination to celebrate diversity that stands out even in star fleet.
Malko is frustrated when he fails to understand a person's perspective.  It doesn't happen very often and it needles his confidence in a capability he really values.
Though not easily riled, Malko's fury when an innocent suffers, when a friend is victimized, or when following the Prime Directive leads to tragedy can be terrible to behold.

Other Info: Not so long ago there was an angry young man named Malko Tigan.  His mother lived and breathed to see him earn what she had not, joining with a Trill Symbiot.  When he finished a round of studies, she pushed him into athletics.  When he finished a round of athletics, she pushed an artistic class upon him.  When he slept she was there before he could wake on his own with more studies.  When he refused, she nagged, needled, cried, and prayed to the ancestors to forgive a failed mother.

At the height of adolescent rage, Malko knew what he had to do.  His rebellion ceased and he threw himself into studies and training with all his heart, dreaming of the day when he would be offered a symbiot and decline.

For all the strength he believed he had, on Malko’s twenty-first birthday, his convictions wavered and his act of defiance failed.  The next day, waking from a surgical haze, he slowly explored in his mind what it was to be Aurin Malko.

He wasn’t weak anymore.  When his mother began regaling him with her plans for a rich and prosperous life in oceanic science, Malko calmly pressed send on the data pad and began to pack.  The plans went on, his mother not seeming to notice.  The big trill embraced her and kissed her gently on the forehead.  “I’m going to Star Fleet now, mother.  Don’t you think it’s time for you to find a ship of you own?"

Four years later, Aurin Malko had completed the officer’s program at the Starfleet academy and his  mother was out at sea, studying alga, content with who she was for the first time in her life.

   Malko is the fourth Aurin.

Aurin is regarded as a bit of a Xenopheliac even by symbiot standards.  With it's first host, Chiss, she spent decades among Orions.

With its second host, Sabian, she lived in the Klingon empire and died in a war with the Romulans.   (She was mortally wounded in battle.  After emergency beam off of an exploding Bird of Pray, Star Fleet Medical Officers were unable to save Sabian and almost lost Aurin.)

Aurin's third host, Jedek, was a serene and intelligent astrophysicist who spent a lot of time alone on deep space observatories but had strong ties to the Vulcan science academy.  A musician, Aurin Jedek mastered the Vulcan lute.

Aurin Malko is the first Aurin in star fleet.  He is friends with an old Klingon ambassador--Kael--who calls him, "Malko, son of Sabian."  His Orion acquaintances are mostly dead now, but he still appreciates many aspects of Orion culture.

Definitely this, though RL has kept me away from this game longer and more frequently than I'd like. Hoping that changes in the immediate future so I can get back to things properly, since this group is great.

Tilt

Character Personnel File
Player ID: Tilt
Name: Wren Hallewell
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief Medical Officer
Rank: Lieutenant
Branch of Service: Medical
Major: Medical

Character Appearance
Height: 167 CM
Weight: 86 Kg
Age: 33
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Plump
Distinguishing marks: None

Character Description:

All things considered, Wren considers herself to be a fairly average human specimen. Not terribly tall and more curvy than the average Starfleet officer, she has the tendency to view herself particularly harshly. To compensate for her low self-esteem, she leans towards conservative clothes and dress.

Her shoulder-length brown hair is often braided away from her face, both for professionalism and to keep hair from getting in the way in the case of a sudden medical emergency - as is common on Starfleet vessels.

Personality:
On the surface, Wren a timid and self-conscious individual. She has the tendency to undervalue herself, whether that comes to her appearance, her work, or other talents. Despite her flaws, she's an empathetic person dedicated to the well-being of others. While she regards herself as someone who's easily pushed over, and this is true to an extent, when she gets her mind set on a course of action she's rarely dissuaded.

Beneath it all, she's a romantic at heart in all manners of the word. Wren truly believes in the promise of a better world and that her place in the Federation is the best course to making that future happen. Even in the darkest times, it's that belief that keeps her moving forward.

Other Info:

Being the child of a prodigy isn't fun. That is the summary of Wren's early life, the youngest daughter of Tyne Hallewell and his second wife Terra. Where the children he had with his first wife excelled in both early classes and later cutting edge medicine, Wren struggled to match their achievements. A slightly-above-average student at the best of times, she struggled with advanced concepts and the growing realization that her family viewed her as a disappointment. Feelings of inferiority grew as her mother turned to violent, sometimes vicious, punishments in private, forcing Wren to practice her medical knowledge to hide the signs of abuse.

This led to Wren abandoning Medical school in her early twenties, joining a colony on Titan to engineer ablative armor for starships. This formed a rift in her family, abandoning generations of specialty doctors for what Tyne regarded as a common man's work.

Her love for medicine was rekindled in the worst of times, during a standard test an error in calculations led to structural failure and dozens of Titan's workers. Pulled into service with her medical knowledge, she was able to keep the worst patients stable until help came in the form of Starfleet doctors from the Nightingale. Seeing doctors in action sparked a passion in Wren that drove her into Starfleet, where she excelled in practical care of patients and microbiology - eventually even joining the same crew of Nightingale.

Her service, particularly at Wolf 359, helped her rise to CMO and transfer to the Lyla James.

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID: Tilt
Name: Matika (Tika) Louvell
Gender: Female
Race: Human/psychic

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief Science Officer
Rank: Lieutenant
Branch of Service: Science
Major: Science

Character Appearance
Height: 178 cm
Weight: 69 Kg
Age: 29
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Grey-Green
Build: Fit/Pear
Distinguishing marks: None

Character Description:

Even years after her war, Tika maintains her body well. She trains and runs often, keeping her body lean and ready for when the other shoe drops.

Half-Native-American and half-French, Tika takes more after her mother than her father, with bronze skin and freckles. She keeps her black hair short, sometimes even shaved on the sides, to keep wild curls out of her face. She has a quick smile and laughs often, with bright grey-green eyes that tilt up at the corners just slightly.

Personality:
Tika is a series of contradictions. A mischievous soul who looks for trouble, but a hardworking academic with little patience for laziness or stupidity. A former spy with a psychic gift for uncovering secrets, who loathes lies and treats her history as an open book. A soldier who hates war, but doesn't know how to live without one to fight.

She's known for being stubborn and perhaps a bit self-righteous, having seen the worst of humanity and quick to see when that same threat is rising again. Her distrust towards the nature of humanity can make her a bit paranoid about the legitimacy of this seemingly perfect future she's found herself in.

Other Info:
Born in 2034, Tika grew up in an unstable Earth teetering on the edge of war. A daughter of the notorious Louvell family, one that had made its wealth in arms dealing, much of her family was enriched by the rising political tensions on a world divided by a both petty and not-so-petty disputes. This erupted into war when she was fifteen, the third and easily most catastrophic war in their history. A secret drove Tika to enlisting young, at just seventeen. Her mother's family hid the gift of psychic powers in their line, a power that Tika truly believed could turn the tides of war. Retrocognitive and with powerful telekinetic abilities, she quickly became one of the most talented spies for the US military.

For all her efforts, though, the war raged on for years more. It only ended when humanity was on the brink of extinction.

In the wake of the war, Tika found she was dying. Nuclear fallout left her with an aggressive form of leukemia and just months left to live. Her aunt, unable to accept her death, had a cryogenic chamber built in a deep Louvell bunker. There she slept away the centuries, until discovered in 2362. She woke to a different world, one full of aliens, technology, and peace between humans.

Almost immediately, Tika decided civilian life didn't agree with her and enrolled in Starfleet. Tired of fighting and killing, Tika decided to pursue science and used her retrocognitive abilities to quickly catch up with other students in the field. Eventually she graduated with honors, and found herself rising through the ranks due to innovative applications of what she's learned.

Hello BlackStone,

If this game is still going on and there is room for one more I would be interested in joining in with the group.

~Nim~

Nim

Hello again, if it is alright I would like to create a character for the U.S.S Lyla James.  Chief Medical Officer.  Female character.

~Nim~

Ok so after reading the medical thread I have seen we have a chief medical officer how about a nurse?

BlackStone

Someone beat you to the punch last week I am afraid.   My apologies for not having updating the list.  Here is what's available.

Resolute
Deputy CMO (will become CMO at the end of Act 1)  I can get this character into rp immediately and pair them up with the chief science officer
Deputy Envoy (will become Envoy at the end of Act 1)  Again will be in rp with the away team 9n the alien ship
Chief Engineer

Lyla James
Operations Officer
Tactical Officer/Head of Security

Nim

Bummer but that's alright.  I think I'll go with Tactical Officer/Head of Security.  I'll be working on my character today.

BlackStone

There still is the Deputy CMO for the Resolute.   The player who was playing the CMO left the game so I have been puppeting her but I really rather have a PC there, and at the end of the act the CMO would "transfer" off, leaving the Deputy as the new CMO.

Nim

Yes I could see how that could work out.  I'll run with that and work on my character tonight.

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID:Nim
Name:Lukara
Gender:Female
Race:Klingon

Star Fleet Service Record
Position:Resolute, Deputy Chief Medical Officer
Rank:Lt Commander
Branch of Service:Lt Commander, Medical
Major:Medical, Doctor

Character Appearance
Height:6'6"
Weight:200 Lb
Age:32
Hair Color:Dark Brown
Eye Color: Dark Brown nearly Black
Build:Muscular As above.
Distinguishing marks: None

Character Description: Lukara has long dark brown wavy hair.  Mostly worn loose or tied into a pony tail at the base of her neck. Rich dark piercing eyes which miss nothing. An attribute which gives her great advantage in the Medical field. Lukara has the muscle mass and height typical to her race and gender.  Yet she has a lighter touch than one would expect from a Klingon which has the effect of calming down her patients.  While her physical appearance can seem intimidating at times when she smiles it completely transforms her face to that of a comforting and caring individual which puts her patients at ease.

Personality: Lukara is not quite like the typical klingon stereo type.  She was found as a baby laying in a basket outside of a med bay door on a distant Federation out post.  Dr. Carol Brown found her when she arrived at sick bay for her shift.  When she lifted the blanket she was extremely shocked to see the Kingon infant.  She took the baby into sick bay and immediately showed the infant to her husband Dr. David Brown.  They examined her together and found that she was a strong healthy Klingon baby.  But where did the infant come from?  There were no Kingons living at the outpost and they had not heard of any Klingons being any where the area.  But it didn't matter to the couple who could not have children of their own. By the time all of the tests had been run both Dr's had fallen in love with the infant.  Following Star Fleet regulations they began the long process which would hopefully grant them permission to adopt the baby. Most of which had to be taken care of once they finished their 5 year term of duty and returned to Star Fleet command.

By that time the child was speaking and reading English as well as any other 5 year old human child.  By the time she turned 18 she had attended all of the best schools Lukara's parents could find.  However she never learned how to speak or read Klingon.  Lukara however did master the Klingon fighting skills through practice on holo decks and one Klingon instructor.  Not to mention the fights she got into growing up with other Klingons because she did not know her native tongue. At the age of 32 she graduated from medical school with her Doctorates degree and officer training earning the rank of Lt. Commander with the highest honors and awards offered by Star Fleet Academy.

Following graduation she was assigned to the U.S.S Resolute serving as Deputy Chief Medical officer.  Where she began the most exciting adventure of her life following in the foot steps of her adoptive parents.  Who were by all accounts extremely proud of their beautiful Klingon daughter who was not only a doctor as they were but she was also a Star Fleet officer.

Other Info: Various encounters with her own race would prove vital to her development. Learning most of which about her heritage and race that her human adoptive parents could not teach her.  Including finally learn to both speak and read Klingon fluently. However some of the lessons would not so easily be learned.

Player ID: Dj Zekrom
Name: Klaus M. Zimmerman
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Tactical Officer/Chief of Security
Rank: Lieutenant Jr. Officer
Branch of Service: Security, Special Ops
Major: Security - Tactical Operations, Martial Combat

Character Appearance
Height: 6' 7"
Weight: 235lbs
Age: 29
Hair Color: Jet black
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Muscular, constructed alternatively
Distinguishing marks: Klaus has a tattoo of the Klingon emblem on his left hand and a large back tattoo depicting some kind of strange, black crowned monster with the words "DER SCHWARZE KÖNIG" on a banner below it.

Character Description:
Klaus is a larger human on the muscular side, often filling a room with his strangely intimidating presence. He's known for his rather darker look, often being described as "edgy" while attending Starfleet Academy. Klaus has jet black hair that never shimmers in the light and falls over his brow, almost hiding them. Being of Germanic decent, Klaus has rather bold features, a strong jawline, and almost pale skin- but not pasty. He carries himself confidently and possesses a long stride. Klaus has a deep rumble for a voice, made somewhat worse by his German accent that sometimes is picked up incorrectly by the Universal Translator; certain words will randomly come out in German, sometimes startling non-Terran races. His face is almost always serious, or twisted into a scowl depending on the situation. Rumor has it, Klaus only smiled for one person at the Academy and hasn't smiled since.

Personality:
Klaus is nothing short of a human Klingon when it comes to his attitude, the only thing setting him apart from them is his silent demeanor. He has a short temper and is often impatient when it comes to dealing with others he considers to be weaker then himself. Despite this, Klaus always follows orders given by a superior without question and maintains his composure rather impressively in front of senior officers. People are quick to assume that Klaus is cold and heartless because of how unfriendly he appears to be, this has yet to be disproven… And this doesn't change even when he's off duty. Klaus is quick to pick a fight when the opportunity arises, his enthusiasm for battle will sometimes cloud his judgement but this is quickly rectified with a direct order. Because of this, Klaus has pent up 'bloodlust' that he unleashes in the holodeck, frequently throwing himself into battle simulations and Klingon fighting pits with safety protocols off. Any ship's doctor is usually familiar with Klaus after a week of assignment.
Klaus might be one big angry brick wall but there is one thing he keeps secret; a small, rather creepy looking makeshift plush of strange creature, similar to the one tattooed on his back, which he keeps close. Hidden away in his quarters away from prying eyes, 'Mo' is the only thing Klaus will willing confide in.

Other Info: Klaus was born in a rural part Germany. At the time of his birth, his father (at the time Rear Admiral Kristoff Zimmerman) was in San Francisco attending a staff meeting at Starfleet headquarters. His mother died from complications at birth and Klaus was left alone with a midwife for almost two days before his father returned. Because of this, Klaus's childhood was rough. His father gave him the nickname 'Maus' (mouse in German), not as a term of endearment but as an insult. With his father absent most of the time, Klaus was left with little to do except study. He quickly grew fond of his father's Klingon manuals, fixating on them rather intensely. Over time, Klaus became very familiar with the Klingon's way of life and mannerisms, sometimes hissing insults in Klingon at others who didn't know the language.

According to his Starfleet record, there appears to be a gap between the ages of 6 to 16. It is unknown what happened with Klaus during this 10 year span but certain classified documents have been found indicating some sort of involvement with Section 31. No other information was released even when requested. Klaus also cannot recall what happened during this time when prompted.

Klaus was immediately submitted into Starfleet Academy upon coming of age by his father, Klaus had no say in this decision but entered regardless since this was a direct order. He joined the Security division, taking up classes in martial combat, Shipboard Tactical systems, and various Klingon studies. Many cadets at the Academy were intimidated by how strong Klaus was and were surprised by the fact that he seemed to have previous experience in hand-to-hand combat, though he wasn't perfect.
While at the Academy, Klaus hit a sort of a rebellious phase and became close friends with two fellow cadets; Zane Hoffman, an aspiring helmsman, and Dimitri Trovolsky, a questionable medical student with an IQ way too high for his own good. These three soon became the infamous Devious Trio, often staging childish pranks across the Academy grounds from replicating silly string and spraying it on everything they laid eyes on, to streaking across the campus. While Klaus remained serious during class, in his free time, the three would find their own ways of entertaining each other while being menaces of society. While the other two would sly away from admitting their wrongdoings, Klaus would take full responsibility for their pranks in his own attempt to assert dominance. He was only partially successful as Klaus's father intervened after their 6th prank. He eventually became rather intimate with Zane up until graduation, it is unknown whether or not they are still in a relationship.
Upon graduating, his attitude changed drastically, becoming who his is today.

Dj Zekrom

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID: Dj Zekrom
Name: Boris Trovolsky
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief Engineer - USS Resolute
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Branch of Service: Engineering
Major: Engineering - General Sciences

Character Appearance
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 210lbs
Age: 30
Hair Color: Russet brown
Eye Color: Green
Build: Muscular/toned
Distinguishing marks: Boris has strange protrusions running down his spine that are visible from beneath his uniform, this is from a spinal prosthetic that allows Boris to continue moving normally despite having a severe spinal injury. Additionally, Boris has a tattoo on the right side of his chest depicting a bear-like monster
Character Description:
Boris is a Russian man with russet brown hair and green eyes. Unlike his younger brother, Dimitri, he has a muscular build and is slightly taller. Boris sports a well-kept beard and slicked-back hair that falls just above the nape of his neck. Though he has a larger almost intimidating appearance, Boris has a softer voice with a soothing Ruski accent. Because he grew up off-world on a colder, darker planetoid orbiting a dim star, his skin is a pale milky white. As a result, Boris often avoids going outside in direct sunlight because of light sensitivity and how easily he burns. Even when the going gets tough, Boris will almost always have a smile on his face, albeit hidden under his beard; one can usually tell when he's smiling.

Personality:
Boris is nothing short of an absolute sweetheart, he's always willing to help others when they ask for assistance sometimes viewing it as a learning opportunity for everyone involved. He's passionate about his work and takes initiative whenever something goes wrong. Rather than sending people below him to do simple work/repairs, something Boris refers to as "dirty work", he will often go take care of it himself, favoring the happiness of his Engineering staff over his own wellbeing. The Russian will often enjoy telling stories about his previous experiences, or his brother's misadventures, discoveries and antics, to anyone willing to listen in an effort to pass time or to help calm others. With his head held high, Boris won't let anything stop him from doing the right thing, or his job, even if its detrimental to himself. He urges his staff to reach beyond the stars and seize their passions, "Put your heart, or hearts, into what you do and it will never fail you. I'm proud of you regardless of what happens."

Other Info: Boris was born on an anti-Federation agricultural/mining colony called New Moscow(1) in the year 2341; his younger brother Dimitri being born three years later in 2344. The environment around him was cold and harsh and their sun barely shined for most of the year, despite this the people kept working and were jaded by the world around them. Boris worked in the fields of lichen, mosses and other cold fairing plants, doing extraneous labor for many long hours. Both him and his brother started to become weary of this seemingly endless cycle of work in the bitter cold. They sought something new, something fun and relaxing, and they weren't the only ones who wanted this too. Around the age of 17, Boris formed a makeshift rebellion with his little brother and the other children who agreed with him. They'd stage their own forms of protest against their families and labor organizers, often ditching work in the mines and fields to either run through town or play in the snow. Sadly, this rebellion was quickly quashed and they were harshly reprimanded, forced to fall back into line. This did not stop Boris though, he was still determined to rebel. Since trading with other civilizations had become more commonplace, the brothers were exposed to even more new ideas and soon learned about Starfleet. Out of spite, they agreed to join Starfleet as soon as they came of age. Even though Boris was older than Dimitri, he insisted on waiting for him to turn 18 before leaving New Moscow even if that meant having to endure harsh conditions and punishments. Once the time came, the two ran away, taking a transport to Earth and eventually making their way into San Francisco.

Boris went into the Academy originally wanting to study botany and agriculture but soon found himself absolutely enthralled by computers and their components. He quickly entered into Engineering classes and though he knew very little about the subject originally, Boris studied relentlessly. He remained well behaved, unlike his brother who used his intellect to antagonize the Academy along side Klaus Zimmerman and Zane Hoffman. Boris often scolded Dimitri for his childish pranks since their parents were not able to be raised over subspace and came up with his own ways to punish him. He resented having to play the parental role while the two were in Academy but did so because he knew no one else would. He kept his distance from the trio as much as he could in order to focus on his studies, only making an exception whenever Klaus would ask him to spar or play racketball, sometimes even openly brawling with the German on the Academy grounds whenever their ideas clashed. (Song suggestion if you'd like a vibe of this: Disco in Moscow by Eisbrecher) One of these incidents involved Klaus's father, whom dragged Klaus away and stuck him, before reprimanding them both and leaving abruptly. After witnessing this, Boris changed his mentality towards the man and to this day, the two are good friends and remain in touch over subspace.

Boris graduated before his brother and the others and was quickly assigned to a starship as a junior grade lieutenant in engineering. He kept up his work ethics and strode to advance in the ranks, hoping to one day become Chief of Engineering. During his time aboard this starship, he helped solve an engineering crisis involving the ship's deflector when it malfunctioned while at warp. The ship was almost torn apart before it could come out of warp but Boris came up with an idea he called a "band-aid" to keep the deflector running just long enough for them to safely come out of warp. Upon studying the deflector more, he discovered it had been sabotaged by an unknown party and he quickly raced to not only repair it but to gather evidence for the Chief of Security. While repairs were being made and the investigation was underway, the ship was attacked. With the ship still vulnerable and backup being lightyears way, Boris pushed himself harder to get the ship functional enough to protect itself. It was an engineering nightmare but it only got worse for him as one of the sections near Main Engineering was being evacuated; he was aiding in the efforts and one of the bulkheads collapsed, crushing him beneath it and breaking his spine, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Unable to do anything, Boris struggled to keep his eyes opens and fought for dear life to stay conscious until help came. "I'm not done yet..." was all that he was muttering once his fellow shipmates found him under the wreckage. He was quickly whisked away for medical attention. The doctor onboard declared him unfit for Starfleet, stating there was nothing he could do to fix a severed spinal column. Once this news reached Dimitri, he insisted on seeing his brother and was adamant that he could fix the problem with the help of a select few doctors and engineers he had met after graduating, going so far as to threaten to abandon his post if they wouldn't grant him leave. Once he was allowed to leave, Dimitri reunited with Boris at Jupiter Station along side the team he had hastily assembled. They got to work and were ultimately successful in not only mending his spine but creating an artificial spinal cord that was attached to the back of the injured patient. This became one of Dimitri's crowning achievements only after one year of being in Starfleet. Meanwhile Boris was left in a moral conundrum, unable to make sense of what had happened or how he had survived, or if he had even deserved to. Determined to keep going with the second chance he was given, Boris attended physical therapy for months to get used to his new motor controls, all while he kept studying new engineering topics and offering to assist with computer repairs around the station to stay on top of his game. After reapplying to Starfleet, they granted him a position on the USS Resolute as Chief of Engineering. It was a dream come true for the Russian but as he likes to put it. "My work is never done."

(1) New Moscow: This particular settlement was founded before the Federation was formed in the 22nd century, being one of Russia's final attempts to forge their own path amongst the stars before inevitably joining the rest of the world to create world peace. Because of this, little is known about the original mission and many files on it; including crew manifests, ship specs, and more, have been lost to time. When the Federation finally rediscovered this settlement just outside the Sol system, a civil dispute ensued with the people of New Moscow claiming that the Federation was just "American propaganda", thus demonstrating that many Cold War ideologies had managed to survive in this colony. Over time compromises were made, disputes were settled and New Moscow was left to keep running as they did before under the watchful eye of the Federation. They still remained highly anti-Federation, often refusing aid when it was offered and firing upon Federation ships that strayed too close to the planet. When alien merchants approached the planet, seeking its resources, they weren't entirely welcomed but slowly over time the colony became more open to trade, thus beginning the spread of new ideas and technologies into their tiny corner of the galaxy. Subnote: This is not a canon colony, I just made it up. Space Russians! Yay!

OOC
In memory of my father. I never told him about this OC but Boris was modeled after him. For a moment it pained me to write from Boris's perspective but I remembered something my partner would say "Remember them for who they were and the great things that they did." I remember him as humble man that liked fixing things and telling stories, just like Boris. May you rest in peace Oliver...

Player ID: Dj Zekrom
Name: Dimitri Trovolsky
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief Medical Officer - USS Hornet
Rank: Lieutenant
Branch of Service: Starfleet Medical
Major: Medical - Emergency Medicine/Genetics

Character Appearance
Height: 6'
Weight: 145lbs
Age: 27
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Green
Build: Lanky/toned
Distinguishing marks: Dimitri has a condition called 'postaxial polydactyly', a dominant trait resulting in him having 6 fingers on each hand instead of 5. Additionally, he has a tattoo of a black widow spider on his left forearm, a tattoo of the Soviet hammer, sickle and star on his lower right abdomen, and a tattoo sleeve on his right arm depicting spider webs, many various species of spiders and tarantulas, and DNA helixes and syringes woven into the webs. He also has pierced ears, typically wearing black studs or studs with spiders.

Character Description:

Dimitri is the sketchiest looking doctor one could meet and his Russian accent doesn't help to disprove this. He has shoulder-length black hair that is typically swept back out of his face, green eyes and some form of a smirk on his face at all times. Dimitri isn't very athletic, this combined with a strangely hyper metabolism makes him rather lanky and physically weaker than most. This however is easily made up by his surprising intellect. Dimitri has sharp features and extremely pale skin, which some doctors will frequently mistake for malnutrition to which he usually responds, "You're just jealous of my boyish good looks."
Like his brother, Dimitri is prone to overheating and sunburns due to his upbringing in New Moscow. He typically keeps the temperature of the med bay below room temperature and the lights dim, only raising either if ordered to do so or if a patient requires it. Dimitri is also left-handed which sometimes causes issues, but he understands that mistakes happen.

Pets: Dimitri has three tarantulas that he keeps in well-kept enclosures behind his desk. One being a 'Glass' tarantula (shortened from 'Baba Yaga's looking-glass', typically transparent or white in appearance with white hairs and purple markings) from New Moscow, the others being a 'Cobalt blue' and 'Smith's red-knee' from Earth. They will often crawl up to the glass and stare at anyone who comes into the room. Dimitri hasn't yet shared what their names are.

Personality:
Dimitri is an odd fellow to say the least, and has some unusual methods of practicing medicine. His exemplary intellect usually feeds into his ego, sometimes making him an unbearable person to be around.
But despite all of his vices Dimitri knows when to fall in line and be on his 'best behavior' as some CO's would describe it. He's well known for being able to focus and work efficiently in emergency situations, often coming up with crafty solutions in dire situations. In his rare moments of comradery and human decency, he'll help aspiring medical ensigns study medical techniques or hold first aid courses to teach non-medical staff how to care for the injured should there be no medical staff on hand.

Other Info: Dimitri was born in the isolated colony of New Moscow in the year 2344 and raised in the harsh cold environment. Unlike his peers, Dimitri didn't favor hunting, tedious labor and physical activity and remained indoors for most of his life studying medical texts. He was initially on track to become the next town doctor but instead joined his brother's rebellion against the settlement's ideals. His snarky attitude arose from him trying to find a way of rebelling that didn't involve fighting, often coming up with ways to sabotage equipment or make the settlement's council members ill.

After coming of age, Dimitri and his brother escaped New Moscow and left to join Starfleet. He quickly made his way into the medical profession and demonstrated his intelligence to his teachers and peers. Not knowing that he was this smart originally, the high praise from others began feeding his ego. Behind his back, some psychology students went into his personal medical records and 'diagnosed' him with narcissistic personality disorder in retaliation to the pranks he had begun pulling with his friends Klaus Zimmerman and Zane Hoffman. This record was never corrected. After graduation, Dimitri no longer kept up his childish antics, valuing the importance of his profession and his ability to help others.

During his career, Dimitri's brother was severely injured in a surprise attack against the ship he was serving aboard, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Dimitri demanded to see his brother and tend to his injury, expressing his distrust towards the doctors that were currently tending to him. He quickly took to studying spinal reconstruction and quickly discovered that this wouldn't be the solution. He took it upon himself to find another option and began investigating cybernetics. He pioneered a new prosthetic capable of sending electrical signals from the brain to the rest of the body, completely circumventing any damage to the spinal cord. With the help of a few engineers and doctors that Dimitri did trust, he created the prosthetic that Boris currently uses to move around. Though this is one of the positive highlights of Dimitri's career, he rarely talks or brags about it.
Quote"I was doing what was right... He's my brother and I knew he'd be miserable for the rest of his life if I didn't do something. I know, I know, I helped a bunch of people, not just him. But I don't care... I just.. didn't want to watch him wither away, because I know that's exactly what would've happened."

Player ID: Bronan
Name: What are they called: Surem
Gender: Self explanatory : Male
Race:  Vulcan

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief of Security/ Tactical
Rank: Lt Commander
Branch of Service: Security
Major: What academic major did your graduate Star Fleet Academy : Security

Character Appearance
Height: 1.92 m
Weight: 79kg
Age: 64
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Dark brown
Build: Fit but lanky
Distinguishing marks: One ear is notched/ scarred from a knife wound

Character Description:

Lt Commander Surem, Vulcan, born on the colony of Hovian VII to a couple who functioned as the colony representatives and negotiators. A fairly happy childhood was spent learning that life on the frontier of the Federation/ Ferengi border rarely had clear cut logic, and that "truth" was often the first casualty. Having seen first hand the results of ferengi traders with no scruples and the cost of poorly negotiated treaties, Surem entered the Academy with the intent to become a lawyer with the Diplomatic corps. The brutal fighting around the Setlik III massacre changed that.

Surem transferred into the Ops program, excelling in physical exercises and in courses focused on investigation. This lead to his commissioning not on a starship, but as a roving officer of the Judge Advocate General for Starfleet. In addition to trial proceeding and interviews with Starfleet personnel, he gained a reputation for working with criminal elements and finding evidence in the most unlikely of places.

His devotion to logic and his job led him to complete the Kolinhor, a Vulcan ritual to purge oneself of all emotions. This had results that were surprising to his peers. Logic taken to it's extreme, for Surem, gave an exterior that would politely memorize details and engage in seemingly unVulcan small talk or jokes. Far from taking pleasure from these interactions, Surem realized that by expending a small effort with less logical races, he could reap great returns in cooperation compared to his stoic Vulcan compatriots. It also allowed him to chase the most henious of crimes without falling to the emotions that so often plagued other detectives. With the rise in tensions surrounding the Bajoran wormhole and the Klingon aggression Surem has requested a transfer to the Hornet to put his skills in the most advantageous position for Starfleet and the Federation as a whole.

Personality:
What sort of person are they, how do they react to others, what pushes their buttons, what calms them down. Please type at least one paragraph

Surem would say that leaving any buttons to push would defeat the purpose of purging all his emotions. However, many things can catch his interest, especially poorly run legal proceedings or a criminal conspiracy. Due to his prior position with the JAG, he has a relative lack of experience in ship board operations compared to other officers of his grade. He may lack the sheer towering intellect of other Vulcans, or the carefully refined strength of the monks of P'Jem, or the overbearing force of personality that many humans brought to bear in an attempt to command others. In their place he brings balance. A moderation in search of the spirit of the law coupled with a ruthless efficiency when needed. Logic, for Surem, is a largely internal affair or shared with other Vulcans. To expect logical responses from those who have for centuries marched to the beat of their emotional hearts is foolish. Other Vulcans might disdain the minutiae of the lives of other races. Surem recognizes that by showing his attention to the others around him, he can gain significantly more cooperation and efficiency from his compatriots.

Other Info: Anything else you think might be important for you to sell this concept.  Plot hooks and ideas for character development welcome.

Surem has a great deal of experience with the seedier side of life in the Alpha and Beta quadrants. Investigating crimes has taken him from the Neutral Zone to Q'uonos and the Cardassian DMZ. While he doesn't seek it himself, he recognizes that he has made enemies who would find vengeance to their taste because of his work. He would often offer one chance for surrender to criminals, both in and out of Starfleet, before taking sudden action. He learned several martial arts during his time at the Academy and since. His preference is to use joint control and pressure points to end fights as bloodlessly as possible. He has also noted on several occasions to his superiors that "Bloodless and painless are very different experiences."

His former mentors in the JAG Corps were sorry to see him go. Whether his new comrades on the Hornet are happy to see his arrival is yet to be seen.

Star Fleet Service Record
Position:U.S.S. Hornet (Escort Carrier) Carrier Air Group
Rank: Commander Commensurate with position desired above
Branch of Service:  Flight Operations, Carrier Air Group, Pilot
Major: Flight Operations, Command, and Engineering

Character Appearance
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 145 Lb's
Age: 38
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Dark Blue
Build: Medium, Physically Fit
Distinguishing marks: None

Character Description:

Shon is very hard working individual and fully dedicated to his career and crew. His work ethics are as such that he often works double and sometimes triple shifts. At times it would almost require a direct order from the Captain before going to his cabin to sleep.  Other wise if he is not in his command chair on the bridge he will most likely be found working on one of the ships on the Flight Deck.  Or in one of the Holo Suites for a bit of R&R, practice firing range (since has also been well trained in hand held weapons, Playing violin or guitar concert hall as well as large and small scale band venues, or exercise programs.  Loves music and can actually play the violin and guitar rather well (Just don't ask him to sing you'll be sorry you did).

Personality:
Generally Shon gets along well with others although if at all possible he avoids seeing the ships councilor being one to not care for his brain to be dissected so to speak.  Very fair in his dealings with those he works with or comes in contact with.  Except for cases in which any type of dishonesty comes into play.  He hates dishonesty particular in a working environment.  The commander is a very private person very few knew anything about his private life and views.  Little to nothing can be found of his personal history before joining the Star Fleet Academy. His general demeanor would be classified as reserved and calm.  Not to say he does not enjoy casual drinks with his co-workers on occasions.  Even in crisis situations he remains calm and in control of his emotions.  Yes he does have emotions but does not always show them. But is quick to offer a small smile if someone told a particularly good joke or story.  If he doesn't care much for the conversations going on around him Shon will generally excuse himself and move to a different location typically the Flight deck where he feels more at home than any other place on the ship.

Monthly bump and the game has taken off and exploded.  We have one full up crewed ship, three others nearly there, and a brand new ship to offer as we do our best on the march towards fun, and big game status (400/1000 IC posts and growing).  The two ships we are still looking to flesh out a bit are the I.K.S. Bloodraven, a KDF science and exploration ship, and the newly opened U.S.S. Nightingale, a Medical/Science ship which will bring with it a new host of missions for players in different directions than the Resolute, Lyla James, Hornet, and Bloodraven.

The setting is the first quarter of 2371, post Star Trek Generations, Season 4 of Deep Space Nine, pre Star Trek First contact.  The Klingons have left the Khitomer Accords and while there is not open war yet with Starfleet, there is open aggression.  The game is a mix of episodic missions for the ships with a mega arching plot thread touching each ship in a shared campaign based in the Maelstrom Sector and Star Fleet's Twelvth Fleet.

We do have a discord for game mechanic discussions as well as plotting out character actions before character posts here on E!  Its a system which has worked surprisingly well. We would love for you to join to add in your talents and writing skills in telling your Star Trek stories in Stark Trek: Blood and Fire.  If there are any questions please drop me a PM and we can discuss.

Branch of Service: Flight Operations/Command
Major: Conn/Command

Character Appearance
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 130lbs
Age: 27
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Gray
Build: Toned
Distinguishing marks: Zane has a tattoo of a strange yellow and blue, wolf-like creature on his left shoulder. Additionally he has pierced ears, typically wearing silver studs or small silver gauges, and sports an onyx black band with an engraved lightning bolt on his right ear. He has a notch in his right eyebrow that isn't the result of a scar but rather because he keeps shaving it in.
Zane will sometimes wrap his hands and wrists to provide extra support, an old physiology practice but one he still deems effective.

Pets: Zane has a Golden Retriever named Rover that used to be a farm dog, trained by Zane and his family to help heard livestock and chase away predators. Since joining Starfleet, Zane has been training Rover to also act as a sort of service dog in various fields. Rover is capable of fetching med-kits, guiding injured, seeking trapped or hidden targets, and various other small tasks. Since Zane is still actively training him, the extent of Rover's capabilities aren't yet known. He usually only responds to Zane's verbal commands but will also respond to commands given by other crew members whom Zane has acclimated Rover to. He's a very good boy.

Character Description:

Zane is a smaller human male with a blonde flowhawk swept back towards the nape of his neck. He has stormy gray eyes and softer features. Since Zane is shorter and more toned rather than beefy, he's rather swift and dexterous. The blonde is almost always smiling or grinning, his positive attitude tends to imprint itself on others around him. Zane frequently bounces his leg when he's been sitting for long periods of time which can occasionally annoy others. While he doesn't have a fancy accent like his friends, Zane is known for having country/farmboy mannerisms, sometimes going as far as to wear cowboy boots and a Stetson with his uniform on some days. He's even on some occasions wielded his phaser like a six-shooter and can sometimes be heard referring to it as a "big iron".

Personality:
Zane is the epitome of the typical dumb blonde. Where he lacks in intelligence, he makes up for with charisma and athleticism. His bright attitude can be almost suffocating at times and he'll often miss a lot of social cues to stop talking as a result. Zane daydreams often and can have a very short attention span, however his hyperfixation on his helm controls is often his life saver. Zane's lifelong dream was to be a starship captain but after discovering how much he enjoyed flying ships rather than commanding then, he opted to study Flight Controls instead of Command. This space cowboy is determined to be the hero in someone's story so he'll often make risky choices to protect others, sometimes endangering himself in the process. One could even say he's too stupid to know fear. Despite his positive attitude and heroic nature, Zane can also be extremely emotional; taking things to heart and overreacting to small things. Put simply, Zane has "Golden Retriever energy".
Quote"I dunno know what H-D is but apparently I've got eighty of 'em! Thanks Doc!"        -Zane Hoffman, 2369

Other Info: Zane was born and raised on a rural farm on Earth, one of the few farms that opted to do things the old fashioned way rather than using replicators and more advanced technologies. The Hoffman family used this niche to their advantage, turning their farm into not only a functional farm but a tourist destination for off-worlders interested in learning about Earth botany and ancient Earth farming practices. At a very young age Zane was exposed to many different alien cultures and quickly became enthralled with the idea of going beyond the Sol system to explore the stars. He still had a ways to go however, so he kept up his hard work on the family farm until he was old enough to join Starfleet.

Upon joining Starfleet Academy, Zane entered into Command and began training in diplomacy, crisis management and other disciplines. Upon entering one of his first bridge simulations, Zane was assigned to the Conn. It was here when he realized he didn't want to command a starship but rather fly one. Zane hastily changed his major, opting for Flight Control. All the while, Zane had fallen in with his ragtag friends; Klaus Zimmerman, Dimitri Trovolsky and his brother Boris. While Boris abstained from joining their childish pranks, Zane, Klaus and Dimitri soon became infamous on the Academy grounds. At one point, Zane was threatened with expulsion from the Academy if he didn't stop attempting to 'drift' and pull other unorthodox maneuvers in shuttlecrafts. While he did somewhat clean up his act as the years wore on, he had become known as the 'Space Cowboy' by the other cadets who applauded and raved about his risky flight maneuvers. It was around spring of 2367 that him and Klaus had become intimate. Klaus often encouraged him to follow his heart and reach for the stars like he had always dreamed of and Zane responded in kind.
Quote"You'd better punch as many hosties as you can in the face for me, doufus."
"Bitte... never call a hostile a 'hostie' ever again."
"I'll call 'em what I damn please! Ain't no way I'm gonna say the whole thing."
"Sometimes I wonder how you made it past basic training."
"Sometimes I wonder how far up your ass that stick goes."
"Shut uuuupppppp-"
Once the trio had graduated, Klaus quickly ended their relationship out of the blue. Zane, taken aback and hurt by the sudden change of heart, became an absolute wreck. His demeanor changed upon being assigned; rather than being the bouncy, flamboyant 'Space Cowboy', Zane had settled down and become more complacent. His social ineptitude was less frequent and his risky behavior had all but disappeared. His dog Rover, however, refuses to leave his side most days and even against Captain's orders, will make his way onto the bridge to lay at Zane's feet.

Has our Space Cowboy been defeated before he even began his journey? Or is there more to come? Stay tuned-

Caste: Scum
Role: Medical, life sciences, feeding ungrateful p'etaqs.

Character Appearance
Height: 1.8m
Weight: 65 kg
Age: 102
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Brown
Build: Cadaverous
Distinguishing marks: Right eye has been replaced with a medical tricorder. Appears to be an eyepatch bolted to his face.

Character Description:

The history of the Klingon Empire has more than one episode that most honorable warriors would rather forget. The shame of meddling with genetic augmentation left an entire generation of Klingons without their ridges. More limited genetic tweaks and cosmetic surgery restored most of the population. Only the poorest and most reviled were left with the shame of a smooth forehead that resulted from the cure. Those such as the family of G'mel. A doctor who failed to cure the mutated Livonian Flu, G'mel was left to suffer, along with whatever generations of his family that could eek out a living on the edges of civilization. Gel'qE learned from a young age to identify plants and animals that were safe to eat or scavenge. When he was a teen, he trusted his father to implant a cybernetic interface that would raise their family back to honor. It might have, in a society that viewed cybernetic enhancement with anything but scorn. The next decades were spent roaming. From ship to ship, from settlement to settlement. Gel'qE buried his parents when they died of age and disease, condemning them to Gre'thor. He buried many others over the years. He learned to fight from pirates, Naussicans, Orions, and the disgraced humans that lurked on the frontier. He healed where he could, gaining more experience in treating wounds than most hospitals. And now, the Bloodraven needs a healer. So a healer they have.

Personality:
What sort of person are they, how do they react to others, what pushes their buttons, what calms them down. Please type at least one paragraph

Of the many side effects of the disease that almost destroyed the Empire in the days before Khitomer there was a noted change in the demeanor of those cured. Instead of bombastic shouts and heavy drinking? There was guile, subtlety, and even the ability to feel fear. Gel'qE is a throwback to the days of Kang and Kolos. A Klingon who was born too late for the glories of war against the Federation and too early for the glories to come. He is often acerbic and sarcastic, with a tongue sharper than a bat'leth. His deformity and cybernetics have all too often placed him in a place of shame. He often retreats to his galley or med bay and spends his time tending the food or plants that he brings with him. He has felt the cut of his people judging him for not filling the warrior's ideal his entire life. He does his best to heal warriors who would spit on him before and after. While he takes great pride in being able to outsmart the lot of them, that pleasure pales when they aren't actually smart enough to understand his retorts.

Other Info: Anything else you think might be important for you to sell this concept.  Plot hooks and ideas for character development welcome.

He is an aged healer working for warriors would would rather die than be repaired. In spite of all of his failings (and those of his people) he still believes that the Empire is worth serving. And he never did swear any kind of oath not to harm.

Race: Caitian

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief Surgeon
Rank: Commander
Branch of Service: Medical
Major: Medical - Hematology

Character Appearance
Height: 178cm
Weight: 73Kg
Age: 34
Eye Color: Amber
Build: As above.

Character Description:

H’Raal has a long, rather rangy sort of build to him, but he carries himself with the gravitas of someone nearly a decade older than his age would imply.  His dark panthera coloration marks him unique amongst Caitians, as it is one of the rarest color patterns for the species.  He maintains said build with long hours working the hospital floors, a fairly careful and detailed record of what he eats, as well as semi-weekly training sessions on the holodeck (typically of the 'leap and phaser' variety of simulation).

Personality:
Cool and calm under pressure (a trait from his youth refined by his years in Starfleet), H’Raal’s record shows someone who can take charge in a crisis (especially a medically-based one).  About the only things that can reliably throw him off his steady cool are his family – particularly his own father.  While he will tend to toe the Starfleet line in open discussions, in private he can demonstrate a bit of a rebellious streak towards Starfleet regulations, though this is not a consistent trait.  In his off-hours, the Caitian surgeon enjoys directing plays (he has a stable of particular favorites), and experimenting with hybrid cooking. (He also may or may not be trying to write a holonovel.)

Other Info: H’Raal is the son of a pair of Starfleet officers – one attached to Starfleet Intelligence (S’Rell, his father) and the other to Starfleet Medical (C’Nara, his mother).  H’Raal also has a sister (Sh’rral) who has joined Starfleet.  At the age of 18, H’Raal joined Starfleet, choosing to follow his mother’s path into Starfleet’s Medical Division.  To present, he’s had 3 assignments prior to this one – he served aboard the USS Tone (an Ambassador-class), the USS San Jacinto (a Cheyenne-class), and the USS Ataturk (a New Orleans-class).

Player ID: XetisSinHall
Name: Abel SinCain
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief Science Officer, Counciler - USS Nightingale
Rank: Commander
Branch of Service: Science
Major: Science, Psychology

Character Appearance
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 176 Lbs
Age: 27
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Slim
Distinguishing marks: Earrings; Small gold hoops. Tattoo on inner forearm; Dwarf Fireweed, in black and white

Character Description:

Abel SinCain is a 27-year-old human male with shoulder length, curly white hair, standing at five foot ten inches. He is slim, but clearly muscular, the sleeves of his Starfleet uniform often rolled up to show toned forearms. Although his sleeves are often rolled up, it is rare that other members of Starfleet see the tattoo on his left inner forearm, that being his national flower, the Dwarf Fireweed, inked in black and white without shading. Abel also speaks with a well defined accent, one heavy on T's and N's, something found in what was formally known as Greenland. Abel also wears a black overcoat on top of his uniform with white accents, the sleeves also rolled up.

Personality:
Abel is calm and collected, and talks quietly in almost all situations. Abel tends to ask how others are feeling before assessing situations, especially his crewmate Zane Hoffman, who Abel tends to seemingly be the watchman of. Abel doesn't appreciate having to raise his voice, but when necessary, Abel can become the strongest and loudest commanding voice on the ship, creating order from chaos, even in the most desperate situations. Abel wishes to be seen by his crewmates as a very level headed person, but also wishes for it to be known that he still strongly believes in human connection, not seeing entirely from an enlightened point of view like many of his contemporaries, but rather from an eye to eye view, addressing a person's problems rather than trying to push philosophical ideas.

Other Info: Abel being born in a small village in the former country of Greenland has made him have the desire for a simple life, despite being in Starfleet. His reasoning for becoming a Counselor is related to this, where his original focus of study at Starfleet being Science didn't fulfill him completely, over time slowly drifting away from those around him due to his lack of desire for the field he is in, despite his exceeding proficiency within the field. Abel realized he needed to relax himself and his personal push to be a great scientist within Starfleet, and decided in his spare time that he would begin helping others in his situation, giving them advice and emotional support. Once Abel realized he was good at this, he took a second Major in Psychology, in the hopes for personal fulfillment and the health of others.

Position: Chief Engineer, USS Nightingale
Rank: Lt Commander

Major: Engineering

Character Appearance
Height: 1.68m
Weight: 65.7 kg
Age: 37
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Brown
Build: Average
Distinguishing marks: Multiple tattoos, small scars across her hands

Character Description:

Lt Commander Azures was born in a small colony deep in Federation space. She would assure anyone who asked that the actual location was unimportant since nothing of any note had ever actually happened after the colony was founded. Her parents were the local administrators and they gave up grooming Rita for the job quite early on. She was much more interested in working on the ground cars and sub orbital skimmers around the place. Some things would stay the same for the next 20 years of her life.

In spite of several warnings regarding insubordination aboard her previous postings regarding "her" engine rooms, Rita moved up the ranks. Saving the USS Ahwahnee during the Cardassian Wars earned her a reputation a an officer to watch. Her post aboard the Nightingale has been a good chance for her to prove that she has what it takes to turn a department into her own private fife.

Personality:
What sort of person are they, how do they react to others, what pushes their buttons, what calms them down.

Rita is known to be a both a crack engineer and willing to tell off anyone she doesn't consider an expert or a colleague. She is honest but blunt to a fault and prefers working with Vulcans, both for their similar traits and to try to out a selection of increasingly inappropriate jokes. Off duty, she prefers quiet while she listens to the subspace radio of sporting events so that she can scream at the teams in peace... or to use the holodeck to watch sappy holodramas. Those files are encrypted.

Other Info: Anything else you think might be important for you to sell this concept.  Plot hooks and ideas for character development welcome.

Rita (anyone who calls her Margerita will receive one warning that Rita is prefered) is more than willing to craft modifications for the ships she has served on. She is also a believer in asking for forgiveness rather than permission. While she passed her classes at the Academy and is more than willing to enter the unknown, her mission is more to create a home for her crew than to be the face of it.

Dj Zekrom

BlackStone, I would really appreciate it if you could update Boris's Starfleet personnel record on the Personnel record thread so that it included the fixed image link and the OCC spoiler at the bottom, please... Thank you :)

Well... I am thinking about this.  I am somewhat familiar with system games (mostly offline D&D) but I do have a few characters from my early ST days that I can build bios with.

Love to get some help in what types of roles that y'all need and how things work.  Thankies!

Player ID: Angel Fire
Name: Jeela Lurae
Gender: Female
Race: Bajoran

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Counselor, USS Lyla James
Rank: Lieutenant
Branch of Service: Medical
Major: Psychiatry

Character Appearance
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 125 lbs
Age: 27
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Mostly slender but fit enough to perform all of the tasks needed
Distinguishing marks: Typical Bajoran nose ridges, Wears a Bajoran earring on her right ear with crescent moons hanging along the ropes between the top and bottom of the earring

Character Description:

Jeela is trained as a Counselor first and foremost but can also help out in Sickbay if she is needed there.  She is well versed in Psychiatry and can even help with deciphering some off world languages as well.  She currently holds the rank of Lieutenant but would not mind if she moves her career along to higher ranks.

Personality:
Jeela is a mostly calm and open minded woman.  She can make friends very easily but relationships may be harder to come by.  She is a listener first and foremost.  If you need someone to talk to, Jeela will be there for that person.  She is not as spiritual as most other Bajorans are but she does look to the Prophets for guidance.  The only sore spot for her is the Cardassians.  She hates them with a passion, especially after spending part of her life during the Occupation of Bajor.

Other Info: Jeela was born on Bajor but raised on Earth after her parents were murdered by Cardassians during the Occupation when she was a young girl.  Raised on Earth, she was aware that she was different and was even bullied after her arrival.  Eventually, her attitude changed after she realized that she could actually talk her way out of trouble.  That was the start of a wonderful career.  She has yet to return to Bajor but hopefully, she can sometime in the near future.

Ooooh.  Another Bajoran officer.  They're very rare at this point in time: the Security Chief on the Resolute would certainly be interested in others who made it through Starfleet Academy.  ;D

Player ID: Angel Fire
Name: Jana Dixon
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Executive Officer, USS Hornet
Rank: Commander
Branch of Service: Command
Major: Leadership, with a Minor in Music

Character Appearance
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 35
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Build: Athletic and shapely, but not enough to show any fat.
Distinguishing marks: Wears a heart shaped necklace under her uniform

Character Description:

Jana has been through many ships and has seen many things in her career.  In her travels, she has been to many worlds and has dealt with how ships run.  She tries her best to put people in the right spots in order to succeed with their careers.  She will not hesitate to speak up if she feels there is a different way of handling things but she knows that her Captain is the final decision maker.

Personality:
Jana can be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on how she is treated.  She treats others with respect, kindness and offers inspiration to others that may need help in progressing with their careers... but if they decide to backtalk to her, than she will unleash her wrath.  She will let others offer opinions about what to do in certain situations but keep in mind that her decision is final (unless the Captain overrides her of course).

Other Info: They say that music soothes the savage beast, this is no different with Jana.  She is an avid musician and can play multiple instruments... just don't ask her to sing as she has a terrible singing voice.  Friendships are totally welcome but once it gets beyond that, she will be very wary of them at first... as she just broke up with her long time partner about three months ago due to the distance between them.

Player ID: Angel Fire
Name: Melissa "Missy" Page
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief of Security/Tactical, USS Nightingale
Rank: Lieutenant
Branch of Service: Security
Major: Security with a Minor in Investigation

Character Appearance
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 122 lbs
Age: 28
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Hazel
Build: Slender at first glance... but more athletic than she looks
Distinguishing Marks: A cowboy spur tattoo on the outside of her right ankle,  A red rose tattoo on the outside of her left ankle and the Texas state flag tattoo just below her left shoulder

Character Description:

Missy may look much smaller than most female humans but she makes up her disadvantage in size with her tenacity and no-nonsense attitude.  She prides in being from the Southern part of the former US.  Her motto going into her development is "Don't mess with Texas".

Personality:
Missy's reputation of anger management has proceeded her in that she has a very quick fuse when things do not work out in her favor.  On the same token, she is very enthusiastic when things that she likes happen to her.  It is almost as if there is no in between with her.  Either she is very pissed off or extremely happy.  She is known for her distinct Texas accent and some very colorful sayings relating to her home... even when she is on duty.  Leaders beware.  Get ready to try to translate her Texas slang.

Other Info: Missy needs to find a mentor to be able to reign in her anger management.  Deep inside, she knows that it is wrong to lash out but it is in her nature to take things to the extreme.  Her main motto is "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later" so she needs someone to remind her that her motto is not the Starfleet way.  She is very open to relationships but since her anger management issues drive many people away, she has yet to experience any meaningful relationship at all.  She is a very avid cook in her spare time.  There have been many alerts and water dousings in her quarters in the past after there was a lot of smoke in her room while cooking up an authentic Texas BBQ.

Recruitment bump 2 Jun 22

The mega game is really taking off with two ships fulling into their Act 1 adventures, two ships in their prologue threads, and the lone Klingon ship about to start off its adventure.  We have a tight group of players in the game and are on our way to Major Game status with over 625 in character posts.  We have great players and writers and would love for you to be a part of the journey which is Star Trek: Blood and Fire.

For the game we have a Discord server for OOC comments and questions, and to resolve any dice rolling for the game with a Star Trek Adventures friendly dice bot which makes game rolls easy.  She will even give you Star Trek techno and medical babble for post fodder.  The action then gets posted here on E!  If there are any questions drop me a line here or in my PM and I will be happy to discuss.  Below are the open roles for the game, but if you have a case for a character not listed, let me know and I will be willing to talk.

Right now we have full up crews for all by the I.K.S. Bloodraven, a Bird-of-Prey assigned to the very rare Klingon Exploration Expeditionary Force, looking for pirates and new resources for the Empire in the Maelstrom sector.  Really looking forward to telling Klingon story here with this ship like was done with Deep Space Nine, and a dash Discovery for some non-traditional story telling along the lines of Beowulf, the Northman, and others stories which help world build Klingon culture in Star Trek.  Looking for writers who think they could take on this challenge.  Gorn, Nausican, and Orion crew members welcome in addition to Klingon.

Looking for positions for
U.S.S. Resolute (Exploration/Diplomatic Advanced Cruiser)
Deputy Diplomatic Envoy (Envoy after Act 1)

U.S.S. Lyla James (Advanced Escort)
Full Crew

U.S.S. Hornet (Escort Carrier)
Full Crew

U.S.S. Nightingale (Medical/Science Cruiser)
Full Crew

I.K.S. Bloodraven (KDF Science Ship)

In the works
Chief Engineer of Lyla James
Operations Officer of Hornet
Chief Engineer of Hornet
Operations Officer of Nightingale

TheVillain

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID: TheVillain
Name: Lt. Dael Stadi
Gender: Male
Race: Betazoid

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Junior Tactical Officer
Rank: Lieutenant
Branch of Service: Security - Tactical
Major: Security - Tactical

Character Appearance
Height: ~190 cm
Weight: ~80 kg
Age: Self explanatory
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Purple
Build: Muscular
Distinguishing marks: None, save maybe that the color and size of his irises suggest that his Betazoid Telepathy is stronger then average.

Character Description:

The stereotype for a Betazoid is a warm, nurturing person. A caregiver, a psychiatrist, a counselor - something like that. It is true that due to their biology and culture they tend to be more honest, forward, and empathetic then the average but there’s a reason why that’s considered just a stereotype. The Stadi Family have been proudly hitting Starfleet for generations. Dael’s posture is different from other Betazoid you’ve served with, his posture is more aggressive and he’s clearly been putting more attention on the physical side for a stronger physique.

Personality:
Captain, I’m sensing something. I’m sensing that they know we’re about to hand them their ass.

A relatively inexperienced officer, the insecurities of someone who feels they haven’t really proven themselves is definitely there. Still, he is noticeably more aggressive then the typical Betazoid. He trains his telepathy of course, but he stresses practical and tactical applications instead of the usual psychological fields. Secretly is a huge fan of old Earth Western Movies.

Other Info: Isn’t as big a badass as he thinks he is. But he’s just going to accept that in time.

Player ID: XetisSinHall
Name: Lt. Commander Actice SinCain
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Chief of Engineering - USS Lyla James
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Branch of Service: Engineering
Major: Engineering - Tactical Systems

Character Appearance
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: ~140lbs
Age: 25
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Gray
Build: Lanky
Distinguishing marks: Actice is missing his ring finger on his left hand, replaced by simple prosthetic. Actice also shares the same tattoo of the dwarf fireweed flower as his brother but alternatively it is located on his calf.

Character Description:
Actice is the second son of Martha and Xavier SinCain, younger brother to Abel SinCain. Actice has white hair and stands at 5'7", 140 Lbs. After the sudden death of his parents, Abel left Actice with his uncle for two years while Abel left for Starfleet, and in an effort to leave his past behind, Actice followed Abel reluctantly. In starfleet, Actice struggled his first year, not knowing the major he wished to pursue, eventually settling on Engineering, specializing in Electro-Plasma Power Systems, along with On-Board weapons and defensive systems. Actice upon graduating starfleet proceeded to join a multitude of ships, defying his captains, dealing with plagues, and eventually landing aboard the USS Lyla James.

Personality: Actice is cocky, defiant, and is constantly looking to prove himself, showing great expertise in many subjects, but with little etiquette. Actice will constantly remind those around him that he despises his brother, but will never give a solid reason why, and will only ever be serious in closed quarters with individual people, rarely including his councilor.

Other Info: Actice before Abel left for starfleet got matching tattoos with his brother, the national flower of Greenland (the dwarf fireweed), on his left calve. In starfleet, Actice also had an engineering accident, causing his ring finger on his left hand to be chopped off, and thus wears a prosthetic.

Angel Fire

Character Personnel Pile
Player ID: Angel Fire
Name: Kel'Lina Martel
Gender: Female
Race: Klingon/Human Hybrid

Lists of Accomplishments, Klingon Defense Force
Position: Helmsman
Rank: Ensign (or equal Klingon rank)
Caste: With her father being human, she has no Caste.
Role: Support

Character Appearance
Height: 5'8"
Weight: A woman does not tell... but if she had to... 130 lbs
Age: 23
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Slender for a typical Klingon but very athletic for a Human
Distinguishing marks: Only her faded bumps on her forehead from being a hybrid.  Nothing more special other than a few birthmarks here and there.

Character Description:

Kel'Lina is a Klingon/Human hybrid. She has mostly human features except for the ridges on her forehead.  She is shorter in height than natural Klingon females but with her loss of height, she knows that she can make up it up with human intuition.

Personality:
Kel'Lina usually sticks to traditional Klingon values.  She knows that she is a warrior at heart but she also knows from her human side that battles can also be won by the mind.  Being a hybrid brought on racial prejudice for her growing up so she had to prove herself to be a warrior.  Mostly, her bark is worse than her bite... but if she has to go into battle, she is very capable of defending herself.

Other Info:
With her human side came the wanting of seeing new things.  Exploring the cosmos and seeing new planets and stars truly amazed her.  In order to reach her human dreams, she knew that she would have to take the initiative and become a pilot.  Being a helmswoman aboard a large starship is a very large duty... but to pilot a shuttlecraft or a single fighter is what she dreams of.  She does not let anyone get close to her "inner circle" until she can completely trust that person... completely.  Good luck in breaking through her mental barriers.  To others, she is a Klingon Warrior through and through but if she has any close friends or lovers, they will see more of her human side of caring and attention towards one that she sees worthy of it.

Name: Raziel "Razz" Zimmerman
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Lists of Accomplishments, Klingon Defense Force
Position: Science Officer
Rank: Lieutenant
Caste: Academic/Warrior
Role: Technical Officer - Support

Character Appearance
Height: 6' 7"
Weight: 230lbs
Age: 28
Hair Color: Golden Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Muscular, constructed alternatively
Distinguishing marks: Raziel has a large back tattoo depicting a large gold dragon with a banner below it that reads "DER GOLDENE USURPATOR". Additionally he has matching armband tattoos on each bicep depicting a gold snake coiled around them. Raziel is also missing a couple toes on his right foot due to having dropped, or rather flung, a bat'leth on his foot during his training.

Character Description:

Mirroring his half brother, Raziel is a larger human more on the muscular side. Though large, he's not quite as intimidating as his fellow Klingons with his neatly parted hair and clean cut face. Back on Earth, Raziel was lauded for his 'dashing good looks' but in the Klingon Empire he sticks out like a sore thumb. Despite this, he sticks to his rigorous workout routine to maintain his physique and strength. Being Germanic in origin, he shares Klaus' broad features and strong jawline; but his golden blonde locks and blue eyes tend to make him look more friendly appearance. His German accent tends to be off-putting and over time has been sharpened by the Klingon dialect. Looks, however, can be misleading.

Personality:
Raziel was a kind and freeloading soul back on Earth and would frequently go out of his way to make others happy. He was always devoted to his studies of the sciences, taking great pride in his growing intelligence. After defecting to the Klingon Empire however, he opted to drop the kind demeanor in favor of a warrior's mindset. Nowadays, his attitude is cold and focused, sometimes even snappy; some Terrans might affectionally refer to Raziel now as a 'smartass'. Still taking great pride in his intellect, he sometimes lauds himself over his crewmates and takes pleasure in pointing out their stupidity. He likes picking fights with agitated Klingons hellbent on maintaining their honor afterwards, viewing it more as a fun brawl rather than battle for honor even if he is disgraced in the process. Despite this, sometimes in private Raziel will revert back to his kinder Terran ways after a long day of work, often listening to audiobooks from various scientific fields while he works out. He enjoys both German and Klingon cuisine, never complaining about living conditions even if the going gets tough. Studious, stubborn and determined, Raziel hopes to one day blow a hole in the side of a Federation ship that his father happens to be aboard. "Manufactured daddy issues" aside, Raziel is still a reliable fighter and scientist.

Other Info: Raziel was born a little over a year after his half-brother Klaus and was raised in the city of Hamburg, Germany. He was doted on by both his mother and father, living a carefree childhood with no conflict. With encouragement from his mother, Raziel pursued his academics in the sciences. Even though his father was busy with Starfleet Intelligence, Admiral Zimmerman always found time to enjoy pleasant video calls with his son and further encouraged him to study- even making the promise that he wouldn't force Raziel to join Starfleet. This promise however was broken in his later teen years when the Admiral found out he was partying with friends instead of studying. Raziel was quick to retaliate in the most extreme way possible; he announced that he would defect to the Klingon Empire in an attempt to discredit his father's reputation. He followed through and quickly left for Q'onoS on a freighter ship. Despite his efforts, Raziel was, and still is, unaware of the fact that his father had kept him and his mother a closely guarded secret from Starfleet.
Raziel's efforts were in vain at first, he was the laughing stock on Q'onoS because of how inexperienced and weak he was at the time. Despite proclaiming his allegiance to the Empire, Raziel was laughed out of the council chambers and left to fend for himself on the streets until a retired Klingon warrior took pity on him. The warrior rather forcibly took Raziel under his wing and began training him in the art of combat. He also sponsored the scrawny German through the Klingon University, seeing potential in his intellect. Many years passed and Raziel was no longer the laughing stock of Q'onoS, earning the respect of many either through combat or by other means. With a redefined conscious and warrior mindset, Raziel demanded a position in the Klingon Defense Force and was prepared to fight anyone who stood in his way of serving the Empire. The council, somewhat impressed with his transformation, grated Raziel's demands and allowed him to join though he was still in a position of dishonor since he had no house to represent. After all was said and done, Raziel returned to the warrior to thank him for his generosity and wisdom only to find that he had disappeared and all records of the Klingon had vanished without a trace. Though a mystery was afoot, Raziel opted to solve it another day believing that the answer would find him eventually.
Still young, inexperienced and houseless, he forged his path through the stars eventually finding himself aboard the IKS Bloodraven. Little does he know even more mysteries await him out in the cosmos or perhaps a little closer to home.

Distinguishing marks: Raziel has a large back tattoo depicting a large gold dragon with a banner below it that reads "DER GOLDENE USURPATOR". Character Description:

Mirroring his half brother, Raziel is a larger human more on the muscular side. Though large, he's not quite as intimidating as his fellow Klingons with his neatly parted hair and clean cut face. A polite request for an update to Klaus's personnel file whenever you have a moment; this one has better images, a couple extra details, and some grammar corrections. Thank you!

People are quick to assume that Klaus is cold and heartless because of how unfriendly he appears to be but looks aren't everything. Though this behavior doesn't change even when he's off duty. Sadly due to a lot of personal issues and deep rooted trauma, Klaus isn't completely mentally stable and goes out of his way to hide this instability from others, many therapists haven't had any luck getting much out of him. Even with that note in his record, it tends to disappear within a day or two of being written.
Klaus might be one big angry--and troubled--brick wall but there is one thing he keeps secret; a small, rather creepy looking makeshift plush of strange creature, similar to the one tattooed on his back, which he keeps close. Hidden away in his quarters away from prying eyes, 'Mo' is one of the few things Klaus is willing to confide in.

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Diplomatic Envoy/Intelligence
Rank: Equivalent to a Lieutenant Commander
Branch of Service: Diplomatic Corps
Major: Security

Character Appearance
Height: 5'-6" (137cm)
Weight: 144 lbs (65 kg)
Age: 38
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Blue
Build: Thin
Distinguishing marks: Minor scarring around the right hand

Character Description:

First impressions are of a young woman of slightly below average height and build with piercing blue eyes and a serious disposition. While the first three points are accurate, the fourth is false as she loves to smile once she's taken stock of a situation.

Personality:
Emma is often reserved about her feelings, but quickly opens up to people she feels she can trust. She prefers to get to know the situation and valuable context before making snap decisions, but can become heated when people, especially superiors, make snap decisions based on an incomplete picture and time isn't critical, such as decisions that can disrupt years of work because of laziness or incompetence. Around others, she tends to remain neutral and will listen politely, but is cautious about extending meaningless platitudes or compliments, prefering instead to learn more about the people she's dealing with before offering genuine feelings.

Other Info: The combination diplomat/intelligence officer is because of the sensitive nature of her work. While the two should be towards the interests of Starfleet, there's plenty of potential conflict where information she learns from backdoor intelligence channels can affect her negotiations both positively and negatively, and depending on what the other side knows through their backdoor channels could swing negotiations considerably.

Also open to the consideration of a Judge Advocate General officer but that's if the diplomat thing doesn't work out.

Star Fleet Service Record
Position: Bartender (Guinan 2.0)
Rank: N/A
Branch of Service: N/A
Major: N/A (Photography, non Starfleet)

Character Appearance
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 232 Lbs.
Age: 38
Hair Color: Brown/Grey
Eye Color: Brown
Build: Beefy, but chubby
Distinguishing marks: Large beard, Wedding band, Scarring on palms and forearms (Long cut and tear marks, likely scraped across stony surface)

Character Description:

Thomas is a relatively tall Trill male, short clean cut brown hair and a thick well kempt beard, greying. He is always seen wearing dress clothes, more often a dress shirt with no tie and a pair of slacks, but on occasion will wear high contrast suits. He is a thicker cut man, large muscles with a little bit of a belly which only seems to be there half the time. He has soft brown eyes, and a constant contempt smile, and a sad air around him often.

Personality:
Thomas is a kind soul, wanting nothing more than a quiet life of taking pictures, spending time with friends, and cooking. He is constantly finding a deeper meaning in life and that which goes on around him, though is often sad from missing those who have left. He loves talking to people who attend his bar, and will give advice and in-prompt-to counseling, along with giving much needed companionship to many of the overworked, tired crew members on board the ship.

Other Info:
Thomas is a photographer, originally owning a small restaurant on Trill where he hung up a large portion of his photos, and has hung up a large portion of photos around the lounge for others to see. He spends his time thinking on life and trying to make himself a better person inside, especially after the loss of his husband 8 years ago. He very quickly picks up on people's emotions, and tends to immediately know exactly the advice they would need at any moment, but only gives it when they ask, knowing that each and every person has their own journey and he can't be the one to direct their lives unless they wish.

Minor update to make note how [Star Trek TNG]Blood and Fire has past the 1000 post milestone and is now a Large Game recognized on E!

A thanks to all the players to made this happen.  As has been said, this a milestone, but a stepping stone to much more adventures to come.

Congrats everyone. Apologies that my contribution to it has been Minor for a while.

Character Appearance
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 180 Lbs.
Age: 31
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Build: Very Muscular, but not bulky
Distinguishing marks: "That Goddamn look he gives" - Dimitri

Character Description:

Indy is a very toned, relatively thin man with a very full head of hair down to his shoulders, a thick mustache that never goes away, and clearly a proper hair routine. He tends to be shirtless when he can get away with it, and constantly has his phaser on his hip. He likes to wear cowboy hats, and always smells like the beach, but not the normal sea water smell, instead the smell of the candy shops and restaurants along the boardwalk.

Personality:
Indy is the epitome of "Cowboy", tough, funny, dry cut, and explorative. He knows what he likes, remembers what he doesn't, states his mind and follows his own rules, which luckily enough fall in line with his work. He loves history and will talk to anybody for hours about it, and records the history of every possible world he visits. He has a soft side, but doesn't tend to show it, "Cowboys don't cry" was what his father told him. Listens to "Cowboys don't cry" by Oliver Tree

Other Info: Indy, despite his general personality, is a sucker for stereotypical dramatic movie endings, the self sacrifice for love, the final goodbye, walking down two paths that'll never connect again, finally getting the girl despite all odds.

hazelnut

I am interested, if there are open spots, as this is my favourite era of Star Trek.

BlackStone

Hey there Hazelnet.  Right now until we branch into more ships (and I find a few story tellers to help), the only open positions we have at the moment are the chief engineer slots on the Federation Escort Carrier, the U.S.S. Hornet, and the Klingon Bird of Prey Science/Recon ship, the Bloodraven.  If either of those interests you we can get you in the game real quick.

hazelnut

Not sure I could pull off a Klingon, although it would be an interesting challenge, but I think probably easier to go CE on the Hornet. I will think about a character idea for that position.

Bronan The Librarian

Have you ever wanted to explore space but Starfleet is just too stuck up? Is your family stuck on the far side of the Cardassian DMZ? Are you willing to put it all on the line to stand up to a broken treaty that put Federation citizens at the mercy of a cruel foreign power?

JOIN THE MAQUIS TODAY!

Recruitment is open for a Tactical officer for Star Trek TNG: Blood and Fire! This is a new crew existing in the same timeline as the 12th Fleet games already in progress. If you have a character idea and want to jump into the game please reach out and let us know!

We have had some attrition, as all Big Games tend to have time to time and as a result we do have some open positions we can get people into the game either right now or not too long a wait.  Here is what we have.

Looking for positions for
U.S.S. Resolute (Exploration/Diplomatic Advanced Cruiser)
(Deputy) Diplomatic (Intelligence) Officer - For rest of Act 1, your character would be the Deputy.  After Act 1, your character would be the Diplomatic Envoy on their own, and Star Fleet Intelligence Officer in secret.

U.S.S. Hornet (Escort Carrier)
Chief Engineer
VF Squadron Commanders (12 and 15) - After Act 1 your character will become the CAG of the Hornet

U.S.S. Nightingale (Medical/Science Cruiser)
Chief Science Officer
(Deputy) Chief of Security - After Act 1 your character will become Chief of Security

I.K.S. Bloodraven (KDF Science Ship)
Helmsman
Chief Engineer

Looking forward to seeing new people to come join a great community of players.

Player ID: Panthr
Name: Pegira Konin

Position: Assistant Counsellor or Ships Counsellor
Rank: Lt. (J.G.)
Branch of Service: Medical, specialised in Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine
Major: Medical

Weight: 76kg
Age: 24
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Black
Build: Athletic
Distinguishing marks: A large scar down her forearm covered by a stylised tattoo of the destroyed U.S.S. Loid

Character Description:

A young gung-ho officer just a year out of the academy, with an athletic build and short cropped hair she looks more like a Security major than a Medical major. She is not easily recognisable as a Betazoid due to her lack of care for their customs but if you look you notice her black eyes common to the race.

Personality:
She is an honest straightforward person, who values hard work and believes a strong mind comes from a strong body. They always try to keep peoples hopes up and won’t question a decision in front of a group so as to not disturb morale and will wait to discuss privately even if she is against what has been said. Anyone who tries to cause trouble by undermining the opinion of those in charge would definitely find themselves on her bad side. Whenever they are angry or upset, some time at the gym is her self prescribed therapy.

Other Info: Pegira was born on a Frontier world to parents that had long ago left their homeworld and settled down for a quiet life of farming and isolation. Despite this they knew what it was to forge your own path and encouraged their child to do what they desired. From a young age Pegira found her way into the infirmary of the nearby town. Many wounded found their way here and she discovered that talking to them helped soothe their pain. She would spend whatever time she could spare from the farm sitting with the wounded and talking with them, until she could read that their emotions had calmed and they were ready to move on.

When she was 17 she started her time at the Starfleet Academy as a Medical major. Unlike a lot of her fellows she had a hard time sitting still after working most her life on a farm and found herself spending a lot of time with the Security majors either at the gym and taking on extra self defence and hand to hand combat classes. About halfway through her time at the Academy she was on a ship, the U.S.S. Loid, that was destroyed. Rather than being the first on the escape pods she was one of the last as she braved the destruction to rescue as many as she could, earning herself a gaping wound in her forearm.

Toward the end of her studies another incident occurred wherein the leader of her group fell and passed out, causing an immediate argument over who should take charge til they reconvened with superiors. Frustrated by the petty squabbles she began barking orders in the manner of Captain Herold, the Ex-Captain of the fallen U.S.S. Loid, whom she had deeply respected. She managed to bring together the group and keep them in high spirits by picking out the most nervous and distracting them with tasks until they reached their destination.

After growing up on the Frontier and having some rough experiences during her time at the academy, she is convinced that the best way to heal is to push forwards. She is great at keeping spirits up and boosting recovery in the short term, but has yet to witness and realise that her methods wear down over time. She needs to be tested and confronted by more experienced doctors and counsellors and need to decide whether she belongs on the front lines or the back, before the decision is made for her.
