You have an unexpected invitation in your mailbox!
There's a masqerade party tonight, and you're on the guest list.  The house is easy to find, and this should be the party of the season.  Get out your favorite scary, funny, or offbeat costume -- just make sure to wear a mask.  The unveiling is half the fun!

Settle into a chair and make yourself at home.
We may still have a few last-minute arrivals, but in the meantime, enjoy yourselves.  Chat, nibble some appetizers, and look around.  Just be sure to stay away from that mysterious dark hallway, and pay no attention to those odd noises from the basement...

Jumps up and down so excited......I can't wait. I love the intro Val. I am going to look for my mask and outfit now. Giggles.

EDIT: I am coming to the Halloween party as Mother Nature. (giggles)

Very nice, Xandi.  I've seen that one a few times in my searches and squirreled it away for a story.

Ryven

I'm not coming as anything fancy.  Instead, I think I'll come as something truly horrific.

Pyramid head!

Beguile's Mistress

Ryven

Yes.  She's my +1.  She's very shy though, so don't expect her to talk much....or at all.

taste of your sin
they will lie about you, insult you, hurt you,
betray you, injure  you, set you aflame and
watch you burn. but they will not, shall not,
c a n n o t, destroy  you. because  you, like
R o m e, were built  on ashes, and you, like
a phoenix, know how to rise and resurrect.

See!

That's one of the most disturbing things I've seen all week.

Isn't it, though?  *returns waves and hugs*

I think I'm going to have to sing the obligatory,

"It's a dead man's party; who could ask for more?
Everybody's coming, leave your body at the door.
Leave your body and soul at the door!"

Oingo Boingo Dead Man's Party

I'm thinking this is going to be my costume.

Imogen

No inspiration for a really gorgeous costume, so I'm going with the bad hairday option, as :

Are we starting with a night, a vote, or just mingling?

Just a couple sinners making fun of hell

Valerian

Right now, mingling.  I'll move things along sometime in the next few hours, most likely.  :)

Valerian

Lovely costumes so far!  Well, except Ryven's.  *cough*

Go ahead and vote -- a pumpkin cookie to the first person to do so! -- and don't forget to mingle and have fun.  :)

Ryven

Hey!  It took a lot of thought and work to put that costume together.  Not to mention getting someone to offer up themselves as a prop.

Valerian

I think that costume was chosen specifically to make people too afraid to vote for you.  *nods*
