Last post was dated June 5th. They may or may not still be going.

Vandren

I'm thinking it never got off the ground.  When I left town two weeks ago, I got back to find that no significant new posts had been added here or in the game forum.

Is a shame I would have been interested in playing a slave.  *waves at Vandren, smiling*

Hey there.  :)

Maybe someone else will come in to oversee things (or Seereous will come back).

I'd volunteer my services if he/she(?) did.

RogueJedi

If this gets back to going, I'll play... though only as a slave... being a hunter would bore me!  ;)

I assure you that I am very much a male, my dear ;)

Since it would see that I have some more interest in the game, please send me your character ideas and I'll take a look at them. Once approved, you may post them in the Character Sheet thread. Feel free to go ahead to the OOC thread and chat about who is hunting who. When you figure that out, send me a PM and we'll get the hunt going.

As I said, this is my first go at being a GM so be gentle. And for those that wish to know, this is a freeform game. :)

Tiberius Reign

Is Hai the only hunted one then? Twould not be fair to her, or to each other if more than one or two were hunting her, yes?

Vandren

So, I'm guessing this idea's been aborted?

I don't understand why this game did not happen, you had 14 respondees. What went wrong? How much interest do you need?

It seems a little odd to promote a game and gather people's interest and then... just let it drop.

If it's going, I'd like to play, that's all.

Rune

Are you still looking for players for this game?

Somehow, I don't think the amount of interest mattered.  Either the potential GM/mod lost interest or something happened IRL to cause him to vanish (it's been two months since his last IC post anywhere, a good week since his last post period - click on "See last posts" in his profile).

Too bad. It sounded like an interesting premise. Maybe someone will start one similar to this later. (Maybe I will start one once I get acclimated to these forums.)

Rune

Let just start this on our own then. We need hunters and slaves. I prefer to be the slave role but I am willing to be flexible. Anyone else interested?

The topics I opened on the space patrol board are still open to you guys. If you need an help in adding new topics or modifying old background just PM me.

Hmmm .. I might be interested in this!

I envision a female freighter pilot, hot-shot etc. captured by the slavers.

Max

I am still interested.  Had a slave character all posted.
"Are you into whips and chains too?"
"No, chainsaws."  (just kidding)

I was thinking about playing a scout who is forced to crash land on a primative planet. The native are 'noble savages' and a warrior race. The scout is a tech who is small in stature and not a combat specialist. She was on a scouting mission looking for possible new race for use by the slaver. Of course, now that she is on their territory, the positions are reversed.

Anyone interested in playing the noble savage that discovers her?

Haibane

I'd still like to be hunted down ;) Can we agree the basic setting? Is it an alternative earth in the far future or another planet, if so what flaura/fauna/tech level &etc &etc.

I'm not a great sci-fi player, don't know the genre well, but if someone could pick, say. a movie to base this universe around that would give me (and everyone else I guess) a framework to stay within. We don't have to take even one itty-biity bit of canon from the movie, it'll just be an anchoring point for our own world.

I'm still interested in playing (not running, I have other running ideas in mind).

As far as setting goes, how about these as possible guidelines:

Earth-based or Non-Earth based

Technology:
- Star Wars (FTL, beam weapons, shields, non-replicated food, no transporters, AI common and ok)
- Star Trek (FTL, beams, shields, replicators, transporters, AI in development)
- Firefly/Serenity [TV/Movie] (FTL, slugthrowers, few expensive/unreliable beams, no shields, non-replicated food, no transporters, no AI)
- Galactica, New (FTL, slugthrowers, no beams, no shields, non-replicated, no transporters, AI=bad)

It would be nice to know what the "standard" government (or largest) is called.  Just for character backgrounds, etc.

Rune

Of the settings listed I prefer.

Star Trek (with the focus being outside the federation)
Firefly like (with some aliens type)
Star Wars (too many goofy aliens)
Gallatica (not for this game)

I see it being as a potential future earth.

Vandren

Arcane,

I was tossing those out as possible rough guides to technology levels, not as settings for play.  Thus, their separation from "Earth/Non-Earth based" and placement under a "Technology" heading.  ;)

Ah! In that case, tech level I would like would be Star Wars level tech. IBut I am flexible and can work with almost anything.

shadowheart

Still interested in this idea.  A Star Wars level of tech makes my character idea a little more feasible, not that she will remain independent for long if all goes well in the RP.

So what are we looking at, system or freeform, group where all the slaves are caught by the same hunters, multiple threads?

Haibane

Star Wars as a very basic grounding for the societies/tech levels works for me, there's even slavery hinted at in that universe (Jabba the Hutt etc). I'd hope we can ignore Jedi etc, its just the society I think will help guide us. As to goofy aliens, yeah, not my thing. Unless they have tentacles, then bring it on!

I'd prefer freeform, I don't see a need here for system. I've never played any system game anyway just so you know, so would be 100% clueless and would probably end up trying to RP it freeform regardless and thus wrecking everyone else's game ;)

I tend to percieve a base/town thread where the hunters start from plus one 'Outlands' thread where all the hunting goes on; I also kinda see this like a sort of Jurassic Park II where the hunters work in teams, and maybe those being hunted do too... just a thought.

What flora/climate? Desert, temperate, tundra, tropical jungle, savannah... uh- urban?  :o I'm happy for most types, though very cold is my least favourite. I'm not one to have NC-sex in a snowdrift.
