Cerebellum von Doom

Continued from https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=105503.0

Greetings and salutations Elliquiy!  We are a group of players looking for a GM for an all wizard game (roughly 8 players interested.)  Rules and stipulations for the game, players and GM included:

Posting requirement: Once a week, minimum.  More allowed but do not expect everyone to match your level.
Starting Level: 5
Stats: Point Buy
Character Concepts: Wizard specialists at a wizarding school/academy/master wizard tower
Game Direction: Party based and individual adventuring.  Heavy self starter and open ended at times
GM Expectation: World Builder type GM, capable of handling multiple npcs
Setting: Clockwork Renaissance

Players from previous thread post concepts here:

Cerebellum von Doom

Name: Consulo **** (will be determined later)
Race: Half-Elf (Father was Gray Elf, mother a human)
Class: Wizard, Illusionist (dropping Evocation and Necromancer)
Alignment: Chaotic Good

Eye Color: Amber
Hair Color: Black
Complexion: Golden tan
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 155 lbs
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual non-homophobic with a tendency towards the more perverse the better
Age: 29 years (half elf equivalent to a human in physical age between 18-21)

Appearance:
Tall and thin, with gracefully muscled features inherited from his father, Consulo looks much frailer than he actually is.  He has a strong hawk like face, with amber eyes and black hair.  His skin toning is a golden brown from hours spent in the sun, without blemish other than a few light freckles on his cheekbones.  His right hand is used most prominently, though he is agile enough with his left and occasionally uses his left for specific activities normal used by one’s dominant hand.  His eyebrows arch sharply, his arms and hands solid.

Personality:
A bit of an oddball in that unnerves others at first glance.  His gaze is intense because he is so analytical.  His sense of humor seems dry to those not of above average intelligence, but those that take the time to get to know him find him funny and very kind…except when he’s not.  He can be very cold and calculating, perceiving the motivations of those around him, always concerned with what’s going on in their minds and hearts.  He concerns himself with the illusion of life as an artform (mechanical simulacrums that are then imbued with illusions to disguise their true nature.)  To him, a good lie is only as harmful as it is perceived as a lie.  The world around him fascinates him, and any knowledge he gets is prized.  At his worst, he is overly sexual and fights his own darker compulsions, those nagging voices that link him to his sister’s personality.

Character Background:

History:
Consulo was born twin of **** to a wealthy Grey Elf Lord and equally powerful Human Lady.  The Lord’s and Lady’s relationship was a blight to both the elf and human communities around them, in particular to their own families.  Racism and rivalry had kept both communities from working together for centuries, and to have such bastard children show up was unforgiveable.  At birth the twins were sent a whole continent away to be raised and tutored at boarding schools, both families having come together on only one thing in their entire history.  The children must never be heard from again, and the taboo offenders to their social order be executed in secret.

As they slowly matured, Consulo displayed a nack for understanding the minds of others beyond expectation.  He was fascinated by the world around him, the motivations of everything.  Inseparable from his sister, the two frequently were in trouble with their instructors, who despite themselves could not fault the talents of the oddball children.  As they reached an age where their inherent talents and desires for magic started to manifest, Consulo found himself drawn to the art of Illusion and chose it as his focus.  With a strong background in sciences, his goal was to make the ultimate clockwork servant, capable of fooling any living.

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Secrets:
In an incestuous relationship with his twin sister.  Secretly invades peoples’ dreams for his own perversion.  Does not know his true heritage, though if either his mother’s or father’s families ever saw him, they would instantly kill him for breaking his unknown banishment.  Uses his illusions to help hide his sister’s more evil experiments.  Occasionally finds himself wrapped up in the fun of doing wrong.

Enemies:
His parents families.

Motivation:
To create the ultimate illusion, artificial life undetectable to even his sister.  To do this he must understand life and reality, the sciences, magic, and everything in between.  Ultimately he struggles with his own darker desires, but is determined to be free and prove his own good to the world, and find the good in his sister.

I would have saved my character sheet.  *Sigh*  Oh well.  I'll type him back up when I have time.

Just as a note, the old thread has been restored.
Baby, it's all I know,
that your half of the flesh and blood that makes me whole...

Cerebellum von Doom

Yeah...my bad...I completely misinterpreted the flow of conversation on the last thread when people said to start a new thread.

Ryven

Name: Tym Solarkald
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Wizard (Evoker)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Eye Color: Light brown with gold hues
Hair Color: Golden blond
Complexion: Very lightly tanned
Height: 6'
Weight: 180
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Gay
Age: 28

Appearance:
His standard dress is red robes with gold accents.  His robes are not heavy but rather light and often flowing to allow freedom of movement.  He has a full body tattoo in black ink running up both arms and legs and meeting on his back and chest, each limb representing one element each.

Personality:
He is often overconfident, thinking he can best any of his fellow wizards.  While power does play a key element in the way he works, he does take into account more than just that.  For instance, casting a bigger and badder fire spell will not kill something immune to fire no matter how much power is put into it.  He doesn't do well when others impress upon him that he should do something because he will put every ounce of his being into not doing that particular thing.  He doesn't necessarily always think he should get his way.  He simply believes his abilities far exceed those of others and believes that Evocation is the most difficult school to master.  When dealing with others, he is usually civil until annoyed or otherwise angered.
Character Background:

History: (I have no idea about the setting other than what has been given, so forgive me if I am stating anything incorrectly)
Tym was the middle child in a set of three with an older and younger sister, each set apart by three years.  His father is the only parent left alive and currently makes his living as the assistant stable master at a farm just outside of Mretz, so he does not hold noble blood.  His mother died in child birth when his younger sister was born.  He was particularly close to her, so after her death, he became a more rambunctious child, doing mostly of what he wished and little of what was asked of him.

He spent most of his time outdoors growing up, exploring the lands around where he lived.  Around the age of ten, he was returning home in the early evening where he found his father setting up a horse to ride.  There was some urgency in the way he prepared the saddle, and when Tym saw the man who was paying for the horse, he became intrigued.  The man was older and lavishly dressed in blues and silvers.  His robes were pristine and flowed down as if they were naturally a part of the man's body instead of covering it.  He remembered the evening vividly as the wizard, as he later learned, mounted the horse and spoke words unintelligible to his ears.  A shining bracelet on his arm began to glow brilliantly before he dropped a bag of coin into his father's hand and rode off.  Tym was captivated by the power of magic from then on.

He spent the next several years learning as much as a peasant boy could about the practice.  He even managed to learn a few cantrips, including lighting candles and fetching objects without even touching them.  It was the evocation that drew him though.  Creating pure energy from seemingly nothing was invigorating, and to later learn to bend such energy to his will only added fuel to his flame for knowledge.  Meanwhile, his father watched him with disappointment and anger.  While his sisters were making a life for themselves, one happily married to a shop keeper and giving birth to his first grand child and the other soon to be marrying as well, he was left with nothing but hopeless dreams.  His father cast him out at 16, unwilling to support him any longer until he gave up his useless dreams of magic.  Tym left and made a living doing odd work in the city.  Somehow, someway, he found himself working at the Academy which was just the start he needed to further his path to learning his passion of Evocation.

Secrets:GM Only
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
After being cast out by his father, there were desperate times for Tym.  A few times, he had to sell his body at a couple of taverns to make a few gold coins.  He resents that time in his life and blames both his father and the men that used him.  If anyone found out, it would be a blow to his reputation and pride.  He never wishes to see any of those men again, and should he run into them, his first response would be to avoid them.  If that is not an option, his anger would likely force him to kill them.

Enemies:
The only enemies he has are those he has bested in friendly competition, mostly because he rubbed it in their face and gloated about it afterward.

Motivation:
Mastery of elements and energies.  He is on a pursuit for power and knowledge, but mostly power.  Each time he casts an evocation, he feels a surge of power within him.  It's almost like a rush through his nerves, so one could possibly say he's looking for the ultimate high in magic.

Cerebellum von Doom

Not trying to bump the thread, just curious if the other players from before, besides Sekhmet, Ryven, and Zaer are still interested in this game?

Sekhmet

Dropping by to say interest is still there for me. Will copy over the concept as soon as I have better means of doing that. Posting this "on the move" and copying is a bit of a pain because of that.

Chocolate Sin

If you've still got room, I'm interested in playing.

Aether

I keep trying to get my brain around pathfinder with a bit of difficulty and relish the idea of some more D&D.

Ye all are still looking for a GM though, correct?

Cerebellum von Doom

Chocolate Sin: Plenty of room, considering right now we only have an Evoker, Necromancer, Illusionist, and Conjurer (Zaer if you don't mind.)  We had had everything filled out in the previous thread but unfortunately people haven't checked back in a week, so you're welcome to fill a slot.  First come first serve?

Aether: Yes indeed, we are looking for a GM.  Are you interested, or are you asking more for a character slot?

Zaer Darkwail

I do not mind being conjurer :). Altough generalist fits background and goal wise better.

Cerebellum von Doom

Good to see you back Miroque.

Recap for Aether, Chocolate, and anyone else interested:

Cerebellum Von Doom: Illusionist
Sekhmet: Necromancer
Zaer Darkwell: Conjurer
Miroque: Enchancer
Ryven: Evoker

That leaves 3 player spots: Transmuter, Abjurer, and Diviner.  The Glyphstone had previously posted a Diviner concept but I'm not sure if he's still interested.

Chocolate Sin

#22
Name: Elith Shandral (Family name first)
Race: Grey Elf
Class: Transmuter banning Evocation and Enchantment
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Eye Color: Grey
Hair Color: Blond
Complexion: Pale
Sex: Male
Gender: None
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual with a tendency toward shapeshifting and a few other kinks.
Age: 28

Description:
Shandral is thin and pale, even for an elf, but his lithe frame hides youthful vigor. Often full of boundless energy, he seeks to live life to the lees, leaving no stone unturned. Tending to wear bright robes and keep his long, blond hair in braids or pigtails, he cuts a strange figure in the normally somber confines of the academy. Those close to him know him to be serious about a few things only, chiefly magic, though not necessarily his studies. He concocts his own experiments, which occasionally go awry, but he always means well. He has a darker, dominant side which can run amok from time to time, usually when he's mixing magic with pleasure.

History:
The seventh son of a great elven house of Elith, he does little to bring honor or shame to their name, preferring to indulge in his own pursuits. He was sent away to school after certain indiscretions were discovered, and has been enjoying the less supervised life which that engenders. His father, Elith Gareth, still holds out hope that his son might lay aside his childish pursuits and become a great wizard, and his mother, Elith Theriss, just wnats to marry him off in an alliance to one house or another. At the moment he's not that great a commodity, but there are houses who seek the inclusion of wizards of skill, which he is slowly turning out to be.

Motivation:
To change. He wants to be free, changing his form on a whim, and doing what he wants rather than what his family expects. Magic suits its purposes due to the fact that it comes easily to him, and because it seems like the best avenue to attain his freedom. Powerful wizards need obey no one.

Miroque

well.. I got my vacation tan.. and Im now full availlable to play :)

PS: The GM should have option to change anything s/he likes for the Setting/Starting level wise.. otherwise we might lose those intrested to dedicate their time to our pleasure..

Aether

Hard to say which is more appealing in its utilitarian nature, Divi or Abjuration...

Aether

Cerebellum von Doom

I hope not =) I think this week was a bit busy for people though.

Miroque

Lets hope we get enought intrest from some GM..

Kate

why not mutal gm ? many times these things fail because the amount of stuff that the gm is the choke point for makes it stop being fun for the storyteller.

could devise a scheme where three gms exist and any can jump in at any time and post - keeps the thing flowing (ideally no gms that are comical - comical to me just ruins things really quickly)

Tom

I'm interested in DM'ing this game (note that I use the term DM, rather than GM when it concerns D&D).

I have more than 20 years experience of dungeonmastering D&D. Most of that time under the 3.5 system. I'm heavily into world creation. I'm happy with most of your requirements (point buy, light smut, 5th level, group and solo adventuring. I will not allow a lot of splat books). Let me know if you'll have me and I'll prepare a setup. Also I would be in need of an assistant DM to handle some administrative duties. This person will not have access to plot details so he or she might very well be a regular player in the game.

Zaer Darkwail

That sounds great Tom :). So long you just allow Complete Arcana, Complete Mage and Spell Compendium and Magic Item Compendium then it would be great. Or at least arcana&mage completes so I can enter Master Specialist PrC.

Aether

Transmutation methinks.  I need to browse back through the thread and clarify character details...

Kate

i assume all slots are full - if any do open pls pm me :)

Zaer Darkwail

In one page back there is list available spots; Diviner, Abjuration and Transmutation. Aether seems picking up transmutation, Diviner was supposedly filled but so far no completed charsheet for that one in here (nor heard from player). So Diviner and Abjuration schools left.

Aether

ooo  My bad, its Abjur and Divi thats open, You take your pick, Kate, I will take the other  ^.^

Kate

Aether

Yeah, tell me about it, Abjuration is pretty limited.

Zaer Darkwail

Quote from: Kate on June 07, 2011, 08:20:57 AM
diviner would be more interesting

And one less school to pick as forbidden school ;). Anyways make char application, no need for stats but similar what I posted in first page. Bit background, personality and so forth. Also Aether, abjuration is limited but it can act interesting ways. Example Sevenfold Veils PrC is rather strong defensive caster PrC example.

Kate

hey hon you take diviner
... I already have heaps of rps anyway ( and i prefer onse with extreme themes are fine ... )
diviner spot all yours .. I may bow out (I expressed interest late anyway)

Stop talking nonsense woman! Grab diviner as Aether generously offered you do first pick so do not be so damn guilty about it! Just go for it :).

Kate

if you give the Abjuration more cash or some magical item to compensate then ok -

(if you were left with Abjuration you would feel pretty robbed too :) lol

I would be fine with abjuration specialization, I got lots resources to pull up nasty abjuration spells (slashing dispel, backslash, spellcaster's bane, otiluke's suppressing field). Abjuration is the specialization who fucks up with other casters abilities :P. But of course choice what spell schools you forbid then determines can you blast stuff up or are you going focus summoning stuff or trick people and so forth.

Sorry, I meant specialization. Should had typed 'focused specialization on Abjuration'.

Cerebellum von Doom

Tom!  We'd love to have you as a DM.  A world builder is exactly what I was picturing.

Miroque

Tom, love to have you as GM. .... Light Smut? *grins*

TheGlyphstone

Welp, wish someone had told me a new thread had gone up.

Ah well - have fun with the game, I'll be watching for amusement.

Tom

Very well. I'll take that as support for me being the DM of this game. For starters we're going to have to agree on a common character sheet, preferable in an RTF or forum format that can be saved as text in posts in a separate character sheet thread. If there is a unison desire to use one of the online services to keep character record sheets I'll accept that instead.

I will be writing up an introduction shortly, that will establish the mood and setting, as well as lay a foundation for the development for your characters. Stay tuned.

Chocolate Sin

Mythweavers is a pretty decent online service, might be easier than constantly updating .rtfs.

Thats good one for keeping character sheets.

Cerebellum von Doom

Tom

Here's my first draft for a game outline. Of course, I'm barely scratching the surface of things here, to get a framework established. Your characters will either be wizards (just out of apprenticeship) of Hadém (with the benefits and obligations of such an affiliation) or traveling there on errands as free wizards. I'll get back to character sheets and character creation in my next post. Sometime soon I will also set up the necessary threads. Anyone have experience with keeping such a large game in single threads or should we divide the game up according to location, chapters, people, subplots or any thing of that sort?

Anyway, I welcome your comments. Here's my game introduction:

City of Wizards

The City of Wizards was not a city at all. It was a massive castle, situated on an island in a small lake next to an actual city. The city's name was Armanan, which in the ancient local tongue had meant something like 'eternal' way back when. It was not very appropriate, as the city had been sacked, burned and rebuilt several times. The current population and their officials had pretty much given up on sovereignty, honoring the nearby kingdom of Raan now. In return for giving up their badge as a free city and some substantial taxes, Raan provided quality military protection.

Most of the wizards, however, cared little for local politics. A few spent time on city councils and enjoyed the benefits of memberships in city guilds of different kinds, but most spell casters had another agenda. The wizards were focused on a grander scheme; namely the development and protection of knowledge and magic. They gathered books from throughout the world and the known planes. As an academy, they recruited the best and brightest to their ranks, be it man, elf or any of the other large and small creatures of the lighter realms or the dark worlds.

Hadém was their name for it; enormous towers rising from the rocky island, joined by walkways and bridges in the sky. Guards patrolled the high battlements night and day, although their purpose could not be the same as any other common city watch. They were almost without arms and armor, and such a might castle of wizards would surely have many sorts of magical protection.

The history of the Hadém went back thousands of years, a seat of power that reached across the world and the planes. Their wizards had fought the most grisly undead, the most evil demons and the most gruesome aberrations imaginable. They had spawned heroes and, sadly, villains from their ranks. And the City of Wizards would doubtlessly do so again.

Cerebellum von Doom

My only question is is this setting High Fantasy?  Your description, while fun and unique, doesn't quite show a lot of openings for the concept this proposal was originally founded on.  This is not necessarily a bad thing, of course, but I was curious how much of what we've already put together you'd looked over, and what your expectations of us as players are.

Miroque

I would assume High Fantasy, as demons, plane travelling, openly magical school and undeads were mentioned...

I think that setting is all good, for this game. (has faith in GM... and brown tongue)

Tom

I think it's impossible to not define a 3.5 d&d game as not being high fantasy, without tearing out a lot of pages from the books. Spells that involve plane travels and demons are just a few levels off. Of course a few levels could be years away in real time. The undead are basically there already from level 1.

With that being said, I realize my description did not make it clear that this setting will have a 'renaissance clockwork' influence. I guess my take on this will be a little more subtle; with most of these elements a little beneath the surface (metaphorically speaking). To me, it's more the mindset of the subgenre that's interesting; with the advent of young technology in the first days or marriage with ancient magic.

Let me just add my main lesson over the years from roleplaying online. The game will naturally be more focused on description and interaction than rules and technical aspects. Playing that perfect prestige class build you had in mind from 5th to 18th level is just not going to happen. Spending hours and hours to tweak characters for certain benefits that you'll never use is not necessary.

What I'm expecting from players are to bring original characters that have goals and purposes, clearly defined personalities and detailed physical descriptions. Obviously a technical character sheet will be required, but I'm not keeping track of your number of torches and how much ink is left in our vial. I might be counting those healing potions though.

Zaer Darkwail

Okay, setting looks interesting and I do not need change much my char background at all. Just that add he went attend at city of wizards for further education so he would be a graduate from said school. Also as conjurer I would already had entered master specialist PrC but also I have interest in effigy creature crafting (so effigy master is one PrC which I enter into also). But as you said it is unlikely we get to 18th level but it is all matter how fast progress chars are making during or between adventures.

Either way I am interested to see how the game will go :).

Sekhmet

Hmmn. A planned plot, or a fairly open setting where characters have to set things in motion I wonder?
What roles will the characters take? Full fledged wizards pursuing their own goals in the  City of Wizards? Will they have a history there, or is their history in there that of students?

Curious to know, so one know what one should adapt from the initial character concept. ^^

Ryven

Sounds good.  I love the description, and I think my character can fit in well already.

Chocolate Sin

Love the setting, and it looks my my character will fit in just fine. Holding off on any actual character sheet/build ideas until I know what books are allowed, but I'm in no rush.

At fifth level your characters would have just become full fledged wizards, taking their place in a hierarchy of people with different goals and motivations. There will be room for the pursuit of personal goals as well as dealing with orders and instructions from the higher ranks.

Tom

I believe there was a majority in favor of Myth Weavers, among those who voiced an opinion. So we'll go with that. As for character creation I suppose many of you have fully or partially complete characters already. However, before you submit your complete character sheet (via Myth Weavers) I would like the following from each of you:

Character name:
School of Magic:
Class build:
Short description of concept:

For the build, if you're going to use prestige classes, feats, spells or anything not in the SRD, I will require the full textual description and details via PM.
For the concept a single paragraph will do, and should summarize the essence of your character idea.

Ryven

Do you need this posted here or do you want a PM?

Also, what does SRD stand for?

TheGlyphstone

The System Resource Document.

http://www.d20srd.org/

Pretty much everything in 3.5's core books with a few exceptions (product Identity monsters like Beholders, Mind Flayers, and Gith, the Wealth By Level Charts, and some spells renamed to not break copyright).

Ryven

Ooooh, okay.  I've only ever played tabletop, and never used that online resource before.  Thanks!

TheGlyphstone

I mostly play tabletop, and I use the SRD all the time if I have internet. The entire thing is hyperlinked, so it's incredibly easy to look stuff up...for example, checking the text of Black Tentacles shows that it grapples enemies, and has a convenient link right to the Grappling Rules, rather than making you root through the hardcopy book to find the correct page.

Ryven

I hadn't heard of it until joining this game.  I shall have to use it when I start up tabletop again.

Cerebellum von Doom

Character name: Consulo (will be determined later as part of personal plot development)
School of Magic: Illusionst (dropping Evocation and Necromancy)
Class build: Half-elf Wizard
Short description of concept: To create the ultimate illusion, artificial life undetectable to even his sister.  To do this he must understand life and reality, the sciences, magic, and everything in between.  Ultimately he struggles with his own darker desires, but is determined to be free and prove his own good to the world, and find the good in his sister.  Consulo is the 'good' twin, in constant balance with his sister's 'evil', though perfectly capable of fluctuating in motivation, action, and intent.  Consulo was born twin of Iss to a wealthy Grey Elf Lord and equally powerful Human Lady.

My character's twin, Iss, is played by Sekhmet.  If you need more or less details, please let me know.  If concept needs tweaked for setting, that is possible as well.

Zaer Darkwail

Character name: William (Will) Fhauldrich
School of Magic: Conjuration (Forsaking Evocation and Necromancy)
Class build: Human Wizard 3/Master Specialist 2
Short description of concept: A nobleborn wizard student with three dark secrets (check first page for details). Aiming to master magic and create constructs (may change forbidden schools after checking what spells effigy creatures and constructs asks in general). Also practical prankster to test his and others abilities in good way.

Miroque

Character name: Yesim Dwreian
School of Magic: Focused Enchanter (Banned Necromantic, Abjuration, Evocation)
Class build: Human Wizard 3/Master Specialist 2
Short description of concept: Daughter of an Nobleman (Count) and "arabian" princess. Her mother´s bloodline was mised with feyblood and she carries the mark aswell. Obidien daughter, yet she has started to feel the pressure of the golden cage pressing on her, as she´s coming to an age.

Ryven

Character Name: Tym Solarkald
School of Magic: Evoker (banned Necromancy and Illusion)
Class Build: Half-Elf Wizard
Short Description of Concept:  Son of a lower class stable owner, Tym met the first wizard he'd ever seen when he was ten.  His father had sold a horse to the rather flamboyantly dressed fellow.  After seeing the wizard create light from nothingness, it lit a spark inside him which grew to the yearning for control over such power.

Aether

Character name:  Marcus Long
School of Magic:  Abjuration (Denied Evocation & Transmutation )
Class build:  I think I may need to go 3 Wizard and 2 Specialist?
Short description of concept:  Building towards a mentioned prestige class that sounded fun, the Veils one.

Cerebellum von Doom

I'm suddenly scratching my head on what a specialist is?

Ryven

Initiate of the seven-colored veil?  Nice!  I played one a couple of years ago.  They can be fun.

Aether probably means Master Specialist PrC from Complete Mage.

Tom

Ok, so far we have:

Consulo the Illusionist
William the Conjurer
Yesim the Enchanter
Tym the Evoker
Marcus the Abjurer

We seem to be missing the Diviner, the Necromancer and the Transmuter. I'll give those players a little more time to post their basic concepts. In the meantime, the five of you may complete your character sheet on Myth Weavers and post the links to me for approval. 32 point buy should be your entry value, average hit points per level (4+2+3+2+3), GP worth of coins and items as listed per level. You can post additional questions on character creation here - or to me via private messages.

Chocolate Sin

#75
Character name:  Elith Shandral
Race: Grey Elf
School of Magic:  Transmutation (Banned evocation and necromancy)
Class build:  Wizard 5, I think
Short description of concept:  Kinky shapeshifter, somewhat flighty. the slacker mage.

Cerebellum von Doom

Ouch, 32...I don't know why I thought 36 was standard ^_^

Miroque

cause you use to play powergames? (I´m used to 28pt buy)

Tom

28 is standard. 32 is powergaming in regular games. Here, I think its just what you need to survive when on solo adventures or in small groups.

Cerebellum von Doom

I think I'd just read poor source materials before.  I've never actually played a point buy game before.  I'm used to an ironman style dice roll done in person in front of the DM.  I'm not complaining, believe me, was more just asking for clarification on variance from what I'd read elsewhere.

Miroque

Just an question: Are we using "Book of Erotic Fantasy" (by Valar Project)
( Book of Erotic Fantasy )

It might have few ... niceties in it :) (and i have the book in PDF format..if someone needs it)

Miroque

Anyway, edited my character posting on page 1.. with link to character sheet

Zaer Darkwail

A question; do you allow unearthed arcana variant of conjurer? Allowing use summon spells as standard action (gain no familiar) instead full round action (and sacrifice scribe scroll for augment summons feat)?

Yes.

Zaer Darkwail

Nice, can work now more my charsheet in Mythweavers :).

Ryven

Which books are we allowed to choose our spells from?

Zaer Darkwail

So far as I understood; Complete Arcana, Complete Mage and Spell Compendium (besides core).

Tom

I may accept all these sources, but I might require all non-core spells, feats and special features in a digital format (even if that means you have to type them up and attach them to your character sheets).

Ryven

So far I think I only have 1 spell from a non-core book.  I think it's from complete mage.  My char sheet is pretty much done save the gear.

Cerebellum von Doom

I can't seem to find my dmg.  What's the standard gold count for level 5?

Zaer Darkwail

Here is my charsheet; http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=306931

I used also Focused Spellcaster variant from Complete Mage, so forbidden schools are Evocation, Necromancy and Enchantment. But curiously my char haves desires to create effigy creatures (create animated artificial life alike constructs). So aiming Effigy Master PrC in suitable part in his career, just needs two more levels and a feat; Craft Wondrous. Collegiate wizard is from Complete Arcana, it is first level only taken feat which doubles the class granted spells learned per level for wizard (and +2 K:Arcana skill). I warmly recommend folks that feat if they can take it.

Lv5 money = 9ooo Gp

Edit: I only need to take my spells... then I´m good to go aswell.

Edit 2: Finished spells... Character done.

Ryven

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=306488

Character sheet above.  I have 1 spell from Complete Mage and a feat from Complete Arcane.  Gearing toward Elemental Savant though I haven't taken levels in it yet.  I have the spell and feat denoted on my character sheet with a CM or CA depending on which book it came from.  If it doesn't have a denotation, it's from a core book.

Zaer Darkwail

Ryven, I cannot view the page where that link leads to. Is charsheet given public view permission?

Miroque

I second Zaer, you need to make the sheet public (it the little eye symbol on the sheet page)

Zaer Darkwail

Miroque, I checked your charsheet. You have forgot to add skill focus bonus to Spellcraft. Also how come you can add 8 ranks to diplomacy when it is not wizard class skill?

Miroque

it should be 4 ranks.. thanks.. and thanks for the spellcraft check.

Chocolate Sin

Character sheet is almost done, just have to pick spells.

Try it now.

Can see it, it looks okay to me with quick glance :). Just add somewhere your forbidden schools. Also instead 'wizard' as your class write yourself as 'Evoker' as that is more precise what you are. Also as build advice you could go focused specialist. You loose one base spell memorized per day per spell level, but you get +3 specialization memorization slots instead of one. Also you need pick third forbidden school (or second as diviner). Just thought you would love able use more blasting spells but memorize less other spells :).

Ryven

There's not really another school I want to give up, but thank you.

Cerebellum von Doom

Hmm, how much would it cost to rent lab space with a wardrobe/dresser and two beds for a year?  I'm talking a fairly large lab for two people.

Ryven

There isn't a lab at whatever 'school' we're at?  At least I think we're at a 'school.'  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cerebellum von Doom

There may be, but I'm trying to assess the feasibility of having private lab space to do long term experiments, and a place to rest my head between adventures.  The added bonus is a semi-secure place to store equip and other possessions I don't want to carry on short quests and day to day adventures.

Ryven

Tom

Off on a business trip. Will start the game when I return in 5 days time.

Tagan

Hmm... I haven't been checking in.  Is there still room for me?

Kate

im pretty busy so u have my role tagan.

I think i had the role of seer or something - divination specialist

Tagan

Kate

Ryven

Is there anyone wishing to take the Evoker role?  I have some real life obligations that will make me unable to play.

Tagan

I'd rather play the Evoker than the Diviner anyway...

Days are short, but I'll have time to do a sheet tonight or tomorrow morning.
