Can you solve the following Riddle?

First think of the person who lives in disguise,
Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies.
Next, tell me what's always the last thing to mend,
The middle of the middle and the end of the end?
And finally give me the sound often heard,
During the search for a hard-to-find word.
Now string them together, and answer me this,
Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?

The Winners get the chance to see my favorate video that I created.

No worries if you dont get this one... New puzzles will be made later.

Won't somebody at least try?

Here's A Real Hard One!!!

A man was found dead in his study. He was slumped over his desk and a gun was in his hand. There was a cassette recorder on his desk. When the police entered the room and pressed the play button on the tape recorder they heard: "I can't go on. I have nothing to live for." Then there was the sound of a gunshot. How did the detective immediately know that the man had been murdered and it wasn't a suicide?

Good Luck!

Nico

Well, I'd say if the police officer had too TURN ON the recorder.. someone must have TURNED IT OFF before. And since a shot guy can't do that on his own, it probably was the murderer.

You aren't too far... Pay close attention to timing and when things happen.

The tape would have had to be rewound, the detective just pushed play without rewinding.

Permission to post a riddle of my own?
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

Wingless it flutters,
Toothless it bites,
Mouthless it mutters.

It is in the Hobbit, the answer is Wind

This is a rough translation of a medieval French riddle (I also learned this from a book - prizes for anyone who know which one!)

Three pears hanging high
Three Monks passing by
Each took one
Two were left
Why?
