Who would be interested in joining a Sith oriented Star Wars d20 game?  Level would be in the 6-7 range, 32 point build.  Timewise, it'd be about a millenium before the movies.

Mindhazingsquid

Hmmm, I might be.  Is a millenium KotOR time?

Hunter

KOTOR really takes place four millenium earlier but the same background applies.  Does that help?

Mindhazingsquid

Err, oh, can you give me the books?  Like a pdf or something?

Hunter

HairyHeretic

Tentatively.

I've never played a force user, so would want to have a read up and see how the Sith played.

I should probably mention that force users won't be required to play.

HairyHeretic

Weren't all the Sith force users?

Nope.   ;)
Not all Sith were force users.  Sith rather represents an ideal than just a race/group of people.
Granted, only the Dark Jedi type could rule over the Sith but any who espoused the ideals were certainly welcome.    :)

HairyHeretic

Ah, my bad then. I took Sith to mean the same as Jedi, i.e. all force users.

Anyone else want to join?

Swedish Steel

If you had placed the game in the Star Wars Legacy timeline I would've joined in a heartbeat. Those Imperial Knights are the coolest! Wouldn't you agree?

Where do they come in? Last time I picked up a Star Wars comic was the best part of 10 years ago.

***Spoliers ahead***

It takes place about 120 years after the battle of Yavin. The Empire in this story is not the evil faction, I'd say they are a grey faction, with the Jedi as light and Sith as dark. The Alliance of free planets are wiped out and absorbed into the Empire. The war seemed to have started over misunderstandings and political necessity rather than ideology. After the Alliance are defeated, Emperor Ronan Fel asks the Jedi to lay down their arms and swear allegience to the Empire. Some do, becoming Imperial Knights, but many refuse, gathering at the planet of Ossus. A few days later Sith and Imperial forces attack, and the Jedi are more or less wiped out except for a few that manages to get away.
A short time after the Massacre at Ossus Darth Krayt, leader of the Sith faction, marches into the throne room and cuts down the man sitting on the throne, proclaiming himself Emperor (that's what you see in one of the pictures). But it turns out he just cut down a stand in, the real Emperor was still alive, in hiding, gathering loyal forces to him, eventually retaking Bastion. So the Sith sits on Coruscant, the Emperor on Bastion, starting eachother down.
A great story so far. I don't care to much for the main character or the people around him, but the Imperial and Sith factions are really cool, and their civil  war with stormtrooper against stormtrooper are very interesting.

I can't GM it because I'm not familiar enough with it.  :P
So, anyone else up for the game idea I've proposed?

HairyHeretic

I'd be game to play a Sith, but I'm not so familiar with your proposed time period either. I can be equally confused anywhen :)

Anyone else interested in playing?

Well, unless the d20 rules have stats for Jawas...

A Kushiban Sith is probably the greatest character concept that's ever come to mind, but it would be awfully hard to play one on Elliquiy.

Hmm.  I'm thinking Steel's idea has merit.

Jawa Sith...with lightsabers!

Hey, Hunter...think you can manage a pair of Jawas?

("Jawa Brothers Budget Starship Parts!  For all your refurbished bits and pieces.")

(mostly j/k)

I take it this is enough like, say, Modern d20 that someone familiar with those rules would do fine?  Assuming of course a lack of Force talents.

If you want to play a jawa, I'm sure I can manage something.  ^_^

MadPanda

Jawa Starship Mechanic for me, then, please.  I think Steel wants a Jawa Sith Force User.  ;D

I think I can manage that.   ^_^

Does Steel want to play a dark jedi or just someone 'force sensitive'?

Swedish Steel

Hmmm, I'm not sure I will play anything yet. I have to give it some thought, figure out if I can manage another game, I am a bit stretched for time. On the other hand bigger games tend to be a bit slower, so maybe I can. As I said, let me give it some thought.
If I do decide to play I will be a light saber swinging Jawa, that image is just to fun to ignore.

Wait.  You're Sith.  So it should be...

Which is almost as amusing the idea of Yoda channeling Happosai after his duel with Count Dooku.

*counts*  I think I've got enough people to start.

Interested persons should go ahead and send me their character sheet (no particular format as long as everything is there).
Thanks.

Whats the character restrictions? Roll dice for stats or a points buy? What level characters?

Edit - ah, nevermind, I didn't see the board when I was posting this.

At L6 I'm not sure any of us will warrant Master rank yet, but I'll take if no one else wants. I'll have a sith acolyte. Figure a few more levels before I can take the Master prestige class.

I need someone who can help me make a dark jedi, I can't find any powers or how to determine starting dark force points.

HairyHeretic

I took the jedi guardian class (levels 1-5), then switched to the Sith Acolyte (Level 6). I believe we have the darkside points we need to make the change.

The jedi stuff I took from the revised core book, the sith acolyte is in the darkside sourcebook. There are a few other dark side classes, one the equivalent of the force adept, the darkside marauder, and the sith warrior. Any of those should probably be reachable by L6.

I was struggling with this yesterday, so LMK if you need a hand. Unfortunately I'm about to run out the door for a couple of hours though.

You can have as many Dark Side Points as you want.  They're trivially easy to get whenever.

Perhaps I should play a non-Force user.  Somebody should be a fringer or scoundrel, I think...

Yeah, one of the flaws of the system as written is that it assumes everyone will be playing like a good guy.  It'd be like DnD presuming everyone would be acting like a paladin and punishing you via mechanics if you don't....

Any of the force using prestige classes (including the jedi ones) should be available to you so don't limit yourself to the dark side book.

Jefepato

Hey, at least being a darksider gives you bonuses to a few (fun) skills, despite the horrible penalties you eventually take.

Mindhazingsquid

I'm torn between a S'Kytri of some kind (maybe noble) or a kushibon dark jedi.
They both have their perks.

Now what would really be interesting would be to see an Ubese Jedi or Sith. Now that would be completely odd.

Quikc question. I was looking at the Sith warrior Prestige class, and it requires a Reputation of 4. Most characters don't reach that high rep until around lv 10. Any way you'd be willing to waive this requirement? If not I'l lstick with the Marauder.
