The Right to Rule

The History
The kingdom of Erani was ruled since it’s rebellion against Miranth by the Kora family. For nine generations the crown family had brokered peace among the surrounding countries which came to a abrupt end when Cedric Kora the tenth king suddenly declared war against Miranth in a attempt too expand and take back further what he believed his forefathers truly wanted. For a hundred and fifty years the bitter war sapped the resources and lives against both countries, as heroes rose and fell, it was Erani that looked to have the advantage at the end of the war, with the a cunning strategist and momentum built off of consecutive victories, the fourteen king looked too have victory in the palm of his hands, however tragedy would strike as Miranth took a counter offensive and assassinated Wallace’s wife and only son.

In his grief rage replaced reason and he led a massive force at the heart of Miranth, this would be the decisive blow too Erani in the war as a massive fire attack on the front planes scorched wave after wave as Wallace refused too withdraw. In the end fifty thousand men lost their lives in the “Battle of Virna” and Erani was forced out of Miranth. A treaty of peace between the countries were forged and after a hundred of twenty years Erani could once more look forward too peace. However the peace was brief.

With the death of Prince William there were no legal heirs too the throne, however Wallace did have a baby daughter who survived the assassination attempt. Though she was no heir, if she were too marry as Wallace's only child the man she married would then have the right too be named king after Wallace's passing. Still Wallace never truly recovered from his loses of his wife, his son, and his war, and by the time the princess was only five Wallace left the world due too illness. With no lord to rule, and the princess too young too marry a power shift was soon to take place as many ambitious lords began too push for the right to abdicate the throne and take power themselves.

During this process Roland Dusk the leader of one of the oldest noble families and a man known for his fairness and loyalty was named Steward and tasked with maintaining peace and keeping the last member of the royal family safe. A task he accepted gladly and fulfilled better then expected. For thirteen long years Roland keep assassins, thieves, coups, and any other number of dangerous situations from the princess and allowed her to grow in peace and safety until her eighteenth birthday when she would be considered of age and the task of restoring her country would fall squarely upon her shoulders. With no current king the man she chooses too marry becomes king, this has of course made her very popular and very vulnerable as any number of lords have tried too capture her hand in marriage, and those rejected have in turned tried to eliminate her altogether. Too make matters worse those against her have made a decree that if the Princess doesn't marry by her twentieth birthday that she should abdicate the throne. This has met heavy resistance of course, as the lords fight back against one another, what is sure is that the state of the country is very fragile. The actions of the princess and the lords tied too her could very well lead to civil war and perhaps the entire collapse of their proud country.

The Present

The princess is of age, and is supposed too be finding a husband in a crowd of nobles and lords who likely only see the throne behind her. For whatever reason, (I'll leave that too the user who plays her) she has refused every hand no matter how virtuous that has extended too her. Despite the obvious dangers of having scorned nobles who are likely too turn a knife in her back for rejecting them she stands proudly and will only marry the man she fits too rule alongside. Constantly nobles come in to stay in the guest quarters, and those lucky enough too receive her presence are often found leaving the very night distraught and heartbroken.

Meanwhile there are many far too impatient too wait two years for the stubborn princess too fail to meet their deadline, or for the princess too marry at all. They mean too sabotage every effort, and more then a few that looked promising having been found unfaithful, too be villains, or simply painted as devils. There have been assassination attempts but the castle guard and the royal guard in particular are most vigilante, and have made efforts too actually harm the princess very difficult. That hasn't stopped these ambitious few of course, and every minute the princess draws closer to a decision they grow more desperate.

The Direction

The main conflict is obviously going to revolve around the princess and the lords trying too gain her hand or destroy her. So at it's barest we need a few lords too push things along, "make it hard too choose," and give just general conflict. How exactly everything plays out really is up too those involved, it can stop at a basic love story with some strife, or it could turn into full blown warfare with the princess, her love, and those loyal to the crown struggling against their enemies, for the right too rule. Frankly I'm open too just about anything, so if you have ideas on how we could further expand upon the setting speak up. Though the princess does need too marry someone of noble origin, a suave servant or peasant wouldn't be a legal move.

As far as suitors go, they all have to be male, because if a woman could "rule" then there wouldn't be a problem in the first place. As far as lords go, they can be male or female as the head of a noble family decides his heir and doesn't have the ties of a political rule. It's fully reasonable and likely that a Countess wants too overthrow the current rule and change the law too place herself in charge, and is the main threat too the princess. It's also just as reasonable that a man who tried valiantly too charm the princess was rejected and is wants revenge for his humiliation.

The age I had in mind is more of a King Arthur era, so I'd be fine with sorcery and such, nothing too overpowered but tricks and the like too add spice too it is always kind of interesting I think. The country itself is very diverse as far as different peoples go, there isn't any one skin color.

A Extra note for suitors
As far as playing a suitor goes each of the 2-4 are considered the "most worthy in the land" so know that you won't be flat out refused but instead will be competing for her hand against the other lords. The princess will be making her decision based on your actions. You can be a main vassal like a chief adviser, or general, or something of extreme prestige or you can just simply be the son of a prominent lord who has vast land. Also keep in mind, you end goal is too marry the princess, that doesn't mean you're bound too only play with the princess, at it's best this is a RP of deceit and tricks. Maybe you're looking for the throne but love another, and are trying too use the princess too get what you want before you dispose of her and rule alongside your "true love." It can take whatever twist and turn you and everyone else implement.

The Princess of Erani
Played by: Chelemar
         Name: Elsbet
           Title: Elsbet
Role: Elsbet, HRH, Princess of Erani
       Gender: Female
            Age: 18
Family: None, Only surviving member of her family
Personality: Intelligent, strong willed, and courageous, Elsbet is unwilling to give in easily to those that surround her, demanding her hand.  She is not easily swayed and does not suffer fools gladly.  Sweet talk and charming words  quickly turn her quickly against a suitor as she suspects every one of them and trusts none.  The few she trusts she can count on one hand, and those are in her select guard starting with Aaron Dusk.  She looks to him for guidance though she does make up her own mind about things.  She enjoys life as much as she can while she can, because she knows that at any moment, she may see the end of it.  Riding is one of her favorite pursuits as well as hunting, archery, and falconry.
Background:
         Height: 5'6''
        Weight: 125
Build: Large breasts, and wide hips, she has been proclaimed by the court physician, much to her horror, as being built perfectly to produce strong heirs.  Regular riding as well as long walks and fresh air, has kept her fit and small around the waist, and gives her pale skin a healthy glow.  Not one to be ill, she loves being outdoors.
             Hair: red
             Eyes: green
Other features: She smiles often, and has a rich--hearty laugh.  Long legged, she takes refuses to take delicate steps like most women and always seems to be in a hurry to get where she is going as though she is at any moment going to run out of time.

Name: Aaron Dusk

Title: First Heir of the Dusk Family
Role: Captain of the Royal Guard
       Gender: Male
            Age: 20
        Family:  Father: Roland
                      Mother: Mary
      Younger Brother: Rory
      Younger Brother: Peter
Younger Sister: Eri Van Porter (married)

Personality: When on duty there are few more serious about their work then Aaron is, he is blunt, and very protective of the princess, he is suspicious of every suitor. Despite this Aaron is very kind, often choosing his words carefully too not offend someone. He uses force only as a last resort unless of course the princess is being attacked. He makes it a point to be the first and last line of defense, he very much intends to die before the princess.
         Height: 5’11”
        Weight: 175 lbs
           Build: Lean
             Hair: Black
             Eyes: Green
Other features: A scar along the bottom of his chin he gained during a failed coup when he was eighteen.
Background: Aaron hails from the Noble Dusk family. One of the few nobles that have had position and power since the beginning of the country of Erani. Above all else every child is taught too value the royal family. In the early years of the clan, the Dusk were warriors, and very successful in early in the initial campaigns for their independence, as well as the previous war. It is likely due to this success and loyalty his father was named steward, and it was in pursuit of this loyalty Aaron began training from a early age too become a guard. Aaron was placed in a very good situation in regards too the princess, being only a couple years older and the stewards son he had the opportunity too grow up alongside her. Despite this Aaron never pushed towards anything towards the princess. Caring for the princess as he would his own sister he believed firmly that it was his duty too protect her, and it would be when he turned sixteen and became old enough to go to war that he would get the change to do just that. Though his position wasn’t great, Aaron was accepted in the guard and he quickly worked too raise higher in the ranks.
It would be when he was eighteen that the failed coup took place. The royal guard was blindsided by the coup and only just barely managed to sound the horn and secure a passageway too defend for the princess and steward. Aaron fueled by duty and the desire too protect his father and princess would take a few guards and strike the traitors from the rear. Despite being grazed by arrow and leaving a sizable gash on his chin Aaron refused to stop, and it was the actions of him and those with him that saved both his father and the princess.
Following the coup Aaron and the handful of guards that fought with him were promoted too the royal guard where they were tasked with protecting the princess and steward at all costs. Aaron took great pride in the position giving and made great strides in his skill with a blade and awareness, and over the next year caught a cat thief and thwarted a assassin targeting the noble household of Wilfork. I
A few months before his twentieth birthday the Guard Captain retired from his position due to old age and the replacement would be from the dozen in the royal guard. Aaron was highly respected and it seemed that he would simply be named the captain, however opposition was raised, Lords feared that the Dusk Family having control of both the Stewardship and the Guard Captain would take advantage of the position and that something more then a good word should be used to decide the next guard captain. A tournament was held too prove those who had the true skill too be captian. It was broken down into three tests.
First a obstacle course was constructed too simulate a guards ability too quickly navigate the twists and turns in defense of the royal family. Aaron placed third in this. The second test was of archery and accuracy as bull eyes were placed a hundred meters away. Aaron managed too just barely hold onto a spot as he placed sixteenth overall and would be entered into the third test which would be a combat tournament where the remaining hopefuls would fight with dulled swords and prove they were the best overall remaining. Aaron win every fight and silence all opposition too his title. It would be just before his twentieth birthday Aaron take charge of the royal guard, and the duty and responsibility of keeping the princess safe would be his.
The Family insignia is a sword stabbing into a crescent moon that hangs from the top of it's position of the moon. The family colors are blue and white. The insignia stand proudly on their flags and shields when not marching under the royal banner with a cross formation. The middle section being blue and the sides being white.

Oh wow what a great idea.  I've been itching for something like this for ages.  I'm tempted to go for the Princess but dont want to jump in incase someone else would like her.  But I will definitely be making a character of somekind to join.  Brilliant idea :)
Looking to write.  Sometimes life catches up with me.  If it does I will be back...

I'd be interested in playing a Lady's Maid to the Princess. :)

Untamed Skies

Ok the princess spot is reserved and that's great for the princess's handmaiden, looking forward too the profiles

Have need for a stableboy? I have a character in mind I'd like to use that's more in line with Heath Ledger's character from A Knight's Tale.

Name:Ariella Kelvern
Title:N/A
Roles:Lady's Maid
Gender:Female
Age:24
Family:Father: Julian Kelvern, groom for the castle. (unless someone else wants to have the post)
Mother: Delia Kelvern deceased.
Brother: Ethan Kelvern a footman for the castle.
Personality:Ariella watches and listens, it helps that most people (nobles) tend to ignore that shes in the room when talking, which makes her privy to a lot of information. She has to be very calm and patient especially with the Princess' stubborn nature, but she would do anything to protect her. When she's not working (and that isn't often) she has a wicked sense of humour, and a slight gossip.
Background:Her family had always worked at the castle, her parents even helped to make sure the princes was safe during the attack. Her mother died when she 7 years 13 years old, shortly after she was offered the chance to be the Princess' companion slowly her duties turned to Lady's Maid. Despite her ties to the princess she still hopes to find someone to marry, hopefully a little higher then her current status, but shes not holding her breath.
Height:5ft9
Weight:145lb
Build:Slender, but shes stronger then she looks. She has an ample chest for her slight frame, and long legs.
Hair:Pale blonde, usually tied up but when she can she usually lets it down, it is straight
Eyes:Blue/Green
Other Features:Ariella is pale, she tends to burn in the sun. She as a scar up the back of her left leg where she cut it riding when she was small and promised to never ride again.

Untamed Skies

Looks like Ariella's personality got suddenly cut off but otherwise great!

@BlackestKnight you can be a stable boy but that is a position usually held by commoners, so that would mean you would not be a eligible suitor to marry the princess if you were thinking along those lines. I only saw the movie once, but if I remember correctly he fought in place of a knight and slowly earned status and prestige? Is that what you're looking to do?

Zealously Jaded

lol no I just forgot to finish the sentence lol!

Untamed Skies

Ok, I think the last part truly brings out the handmaiden flair. She looks like she'll be fun

Zealously Jaded

She should be, I hoping that she would be somewhat influential.

Name: Morien Morningstar

Title:Commoner
Roles:Stableboy
Gender:Male
Age:16
Family: Father: Absent
Mother: Deceased
Personality: Morien has felt like a bit of an outsider for much of his life , which has given him a unique perspective on the world. Morien is always concerned about his place in the world and whether or not he is truly capable of uplifting himself in the inequitable society in which he was born into , a cautious optimist who believes that his talents will be recognized in spite of the unique hurdles he's had to overcome. Morien sees knighthood as the only viable path he has to improving his overall station, he's trained in solace since he was a half-pint in hopes of that it would payoff someday.

Morien is able to overcome difficult situations due to his stoic resolve. Despite all the difficulties he's faced, he's retained a sense of humor and he seems to attract rather interesting company. Morien is prone to feelings of  anger that has brought more trouble than he originally hoped . Those who know him describe him as responsible, conflicted, and resilient.
Background: Morien is the illegitimate son born from a wealthy nobleman and one of his maids. Morien's biological father found that his wife would not bear him  child and so he decided to allow Morien and his mother, the maid to live with him in his estate, thus he lived as a noble and heir for a brief portion of his childhood. However, While Morien was still young, his father eventually did manage to have a legitimate heir with his married wife. His step-mother along with his father's family never too fond at the thought of having Morien or his mother around, managed to convince the Lord to throw the maid and her son out, denouncing both from all titles and inheritances.

Morien and his mother were thrown out of the house with nowhere to go and nothing to their names. It was this more than anything else in his life that shaped his distrust and dislike of the nobility. For most of his life he's had to hustle, sometimes taking on illegal professions to provide for himself after his mother soonafter passed from an unknown illness , which one might imagine is a particularly bitter pill for anyone in similar circumstances to swallow. Though for the most part, he's managed to pull it  together, using his experiences as motivation. Interestingly, he came to be the princess's stablehand after stealing a horse from a prominent nobleman when he used to be involved in horse thieving. The horse he stole was believed to be an untameable wild stallion.

More recently, Morien has begun to participate in heradly tournaments in disguise, despite being both underage and not having a legitimate bloodline, as a
a masked contender by the name of Black Knight, earning a bit of a repute and fanbase due to his record winning streak but can he keep his secret  hobby a secret?

He looks like he will be quite the scandal

I was thinking on it, and it occurred too me that there are other key positions inside the castle aside from being a guest that are usually taken by nobles.

If you'd be looking for a exact role they could be.

Court Magician: Basically what Merlin was to Arthur
Chief Adviser: Assists the Steward (and latter the king and queen) in political matters and actions
Lt. General: Like the captain of the guard but in charge of the military instead of the protection of the royal family.
Head of House: The Representative for the noble families, usually used as a mediator when there is a dispute.

A long line of |Court magicians.  Usually the male members of her family have the talent, but when she was born it was obvious that she was filled with the gift.

Personality:
Quiet, observant, thoughtful.  Very intelligent, asks a lot of questions and makes people think.  She is dedicated to the Princess having been bought up in the castle with her.  She is not one to be under estimated, able to defend herself with not only magic but also her skill as a fighter.
Hates those who would harm Elsbet or her beloved home land.  Good listener, but has no patience for fools or those who would use her for their own gain.

This is a work in progress as I'm out today.  Hopefully she'll be what you were looking for.7

Looking to write.  Sometimes life catches up with me.  If it does I will be back...

Untamed Skies

I'm curious for a background on her, but otherwise I was hoping the Court Magician would either end up like Merlin or like Jafar (very loyal, or biding time to betray everyone), so in that regards thus far she's perfect. Hopefully today we'll fill in some suitors and some ambitious nobles, so we can have direct conflict and drama.

Chelemar

QuoteShe has to be very calm and patient especially with the Princess' stubborn nature, but she would do anything to protect her

The princess isn't stubborn with those she loves.  She only is stubborn at choosing a mate when she sees so many who only desire the crown and could care less about the people and Kingdom that she adores and has sworn to protect. :)

Fair enough, but I was figuring she was the type of person that does what she wants when she wants.

Untamed Skies

I'm sure part of the patience comes from trying to talk Elsbet from throwing out every last suitor that tries too charm her. And also likely enduring every spoiled noble that gets told no and throws a tantrum. Odds are they are going to complain too the handmaiden, then too whoever else has authority on their way out, as well as being very rude to every servant in their way. I imagine most everyone has learned just how patient they really are in the last few months.

kaz

I think this is gonna be a lot of fun.  Hope we get some suitors soon.  I'll finish Alera tomorrow.  A little drunk not good for character writing :)
Looking to write.  Sometimes life catches up with me.  If it does I will be back...

Untamed Skies

Yeah If we can just get a few suitors, because roleplays like this are never any fun without a love triangle or two I think it'll be very fun. I really like the cast so far.

Chelemar

Maybe the suitor roles that are played as characters could be the ones who actually have a chance at winning the princess's hand.  This way, the players who put in their character sheets could feel like they have a chance at staying and not be rejected out of hand.

Also, maybe limit the number to say, 3 or 4?  And that they present their character but that only  you Untamed Skies know if they are a force of good or evil and it's up to the princess and the characters around her to figure out who the best person for the kingdom, and the princess would be by giving them a series of tests as well as spy on them (this is where  Tori's character and Blackestknight's could really come into play in their ability to see/hear things that others cant)

Untamed Skies

Hmm, maybe I should make it a bit more clear with the suitors and everything, I'll go ahead and start working on that. I think 4 suitors max is a good idea, anyone else of prestige would go under vassal and then they could just keep their motives too themselves as a suitor would. There is more then one way too the throne room after all.

CarnivorousBunny

This sounds like fun.

I'm considering making a noble, a female cross-dressing to please her greedy, ornery father who wanted sons, but only got her as an heir.  She, not necessarily actively (I have not decided yet), will be trying to take the throne for herself.  But I'm not sure if I should because there seems to be so many ladies and only two lads.

Untamed Skies

You make a good point, I'll go ahead and edit the topic again, we can always add more as time goes on in terms of suitors but before we start we probably ought to have a better man to woman ratio. If you decide too join with this character that sounds like she'd be great and we'd be happy to have her.

Name:
Bradford Folet

Title:
Only child and heir to the Folet estate and title.

Roles:
Cross-dresser, future lord and a novice alchemist.

Gender:
Female, but is believed to be male.

Age:
19, but is believed to be 17.

Family:
Father: Lord Hugh Folet
Mother: The former Lady Lia Folet, diseased
Step-Mother: The current Lady Vivian Folet

Personality:
Bradford is not one to be pushed around.  Perhaps it is because of her masculine alter-ego, or perhaps it is the resentment she carries for having to live in a life made of fear and lies, but Bradford is an unyielding, humorless, calculating individual.  While not a heartless woman, it would not be best to hope for kindness or pity from her.  A chaotic neutral with too much to lose, her only true ally and friends are herself.  The only true joy she gets from life are from food, drink and music. After all, sensual responses and pleasures are the most basic and honest feelings.
When it comes to wooing the princess, Bradford is not the most enthusiastic of the suitors but she feels that may play to her advantage.  With a cool head and reason, she feels that she won't intimidate or be a threat to the princess.

Background:
The only man who can control Bradford is her father.  For as long as she could remember, her father threatened her, cursed at her and beat her whenever she did not do as he willed.  He said it was her punishment for not being born male.  After Bradford turned thirteen her mother passed away, and she was truly alone.

Her father remarried instantly.  The new wife her father took in is young, silly and stupid.  While Bradford has nothing against the woman herself, she knows that if this woman produces a male heir, while Bradford would be free from the lies, she lose all purpose in life and have no more place in the court and family, and would need to be exiled from the kingdom to save her family's reputation.  Bradford took up alchemy to ensure that this new wife's monthly courses never failed, and so far it has been working.
Aware that the world of men is a hard and violent one, Bradford was all for learning how to wield weapons and defend herself.  While she has no talent for archery and jousting, she is nimble and dexterous, allowing her fair proficiency with the sword.

In recent years her father has been ecstatic that the princess has been refusing suitors.  He drools from the mouth like a hungry, greedy dog at the thought of being able to take the throne.  The man is plotting, and uses the ever reluctant Bradford as his gopher and spy.

Lord Hugh Folet's primary focus was to amass wealth as quickly as possible, so he invested in crafts.  To this day the best quality dyes in the kingdom come from the House of Folet, and their artisan blacksmiths come up with breathtaking works.  While not primarily militant, the Folet house has a fairly strong defense.  Bradford's father is not one to allow anyone to take his land and money without a fight.
The Folet house colors is a black bear against a two-toned green banner.

While boyish and toned, her build is graceful and pretty.  Bradford is lean with a small to medium sized bust.  Her shoulders are wide and square, but slender and her behind is a little too round and shapely to be that of a man.

Hair:
Dark brown, usually messy.

Eyes:
Dark brown.

Other Features:
Her chest is always bound, sometimes with a thin plate of metal under her shirt just in case.  She has a long, but thin scar on her left cheek from an incident from her childhood.  Bradford has a handful of other scars, but they are hidden under her clothing.

She looks Great, lots of motivation and potential drama and conflict. Since she's posing as a male is she trying to be a suitor? Or is she just a noble in the castle too "protect" the princess?

CarnivorousBunny

Hm, good question.  Initially I was thinking she could just be there to "protect" the princess, but then when I really thought about it, she could be trying to woo the princess and she and her father could just have a plan to murder her after the marriage.
One of the reasons I gave her the alchemy skill was so that she could have a basic knowledge of poisons up her sleeve as well.

I suppose I could take a suitor slot, it would also allow the RP to get a step closer to starting.

Ok I'll go add her in then. If we suddenly get a bunch of males looking to be suitors then we can change things up again if you'd prefer too have her back in her original role. But for the time being this works great.

Ok, so as it stands we are still in need of at least two men, at this point they don't need to be suitors, as we have two, and they are contrasting enough we can probably have a lot of fun with it. (Though having four compete against one another would probably be funner then two). If we get two more I'll go ahead and officially create the thread over where we can roleplay.

So here's a quick question for everyone. Is anyone really interested in having NPC's too interact with or pick up for needed plots? It occurred too me when I was at work today that this was one of the types of rp's where it's easy too bring in a npc and send it away or kill it just as fast.

Also I've noticed there are a few threads that end up getting a OCC thread, would that be something everyone wanted for this as well?

CarnivorousBunny

Hm, I think we do need NPCs, but they don't need to be very significant to the story.

For sure Bradford's father will be around a lot, and there should be a few others such as Roland Dusk that seem significant to the story.
And I can see Bradford or her father either trying to influence of getting rid of the supporters of the princess from the shadows, but this can be implied rather than played out, so there may be no real need for fleshed out, to semi-fleshed out NPCs.

An OOC is always good, it's another link for people to see and click if they're interested in the game.  Just post the link to the recruitment thread so they can check it out.

we will need NPC suitors to kick around. :D I can play some of those myself.  Or anyone who wants to have a bit of fun can as well.. .no need for charry sheets do we?

As and we need an OOC for sure as we will have to move our characters there :)  as well as discuss anything that is to happen in character that is not secret there. :)

If you are not familiar with how to do it, you simply start the OOC thread with the same title and in the same section, I.E. NC human free form, small groups:The Right to Rule
and  NC human free form, small groups:  The Right to Rule, OOC
:)  If you know how to do it, nennamind what I just wrote LOL

Untamed Skies

This would actually be the first time a OOC thread would make sense. I did actually have an idea for a Suitor that everyone can likely have a bit of fun with here and there. I don't think we're doing a "for the princess's hand," if we don't have a snobby flamboyant noble.

No you don't need character sheets for a NPC unless you want to give more back story on your concept. Unless someone else wants him, I will go ahead and take control of Roland Dusk, since the princess is preoccupied with men and there still isn't technically a voice of supreme power in the land the Steward would still have power, and would make sense too appear here and there.

Really until they're picked up we have other guards, lords, generals, soldiers, servants, The Adviser, the Head of House, and other roles like that which are generally apart of life. So I'd say if at any point in time if the mood hits don't shy away from it.

(So for the delay in replying have been enthralled with the Roast of Roseanne)

LordLuck

I am quite interested into the Princess' Hand as well! :)

And of course, on the rest of her too. Would you guys accept another pretender? I'm thinking of balancing it a little with an older sort of man, maybe the head of a noble house that could offer her both coin and armed men to keep her throne and claim.

I'll post the elaborated character up here later on as soon as it shows possible!!! :)

Yeah, that'd be fine, as all walks of nobles and lords are trying too their hand at it. I'm very confident not everyone trusts their son with something so crucial. Go ahead and post your character.

Edited: I apologize I Wasn't thinking your spot is reserved on the roster

Name: Lord Morholt Strong Arm, of House Webber
Title: Duke Webber, Marshall of the Western Reaches
Roles: Head of House Webber
Gender: Male
Age: 36 years old
Family: House Webber, being:
Father: Lord Reyne Webber, deceased
Mother: Lady Laura Webber-Collet, deceased
Wife: Lady Lenore Webber-Collet, was 22, recently deceased on childbed
Brothers: Ser Aaron Webber, 28, and Ser Lanildot Webber, 24, both Knights of the Realm
            - Lady Anna Fargrath, 27, married to Ser Aaron; mother of three young boys and a girl.
Bastards: Gathrad Grove, child of a peasant woman, 16 years old.
Marius, child of a fishwife, 15 years old.
Robert Grove, child of a washerwoman, 8 years old.
Julia, child of a baker's wife, 4 years old.
Personality: Proud and Haughty, the Master of House Webber clear and openly despises all other suitors to the Princess' hand, considering himself the only 'eligible' match for her hand. The man is older than most of the other contendants, and is certainly gloomy when questioned about his wife's recent passing. However, it is clear that the old webber was never too much attached to the laws of matrimony, more than once sirring himself bastards amongst the women that served his Castle and Fiefdoms, and many other places. Sometimes agressive and others a brute, it reflects on his warrior's choice of weapons, wielding himself a flail rather than a sword - a weapon that can be dangerous to it's own wielder, if without practice. Proven more than fertile, given his man bastard children.
Background: House Webber is one of the Great Houses of the Realm, their colours a red spider against a black banner, with white and silver webs on the background. Known for it's militant character, the nobleman could marshall and gather the most number of warriors and soldiers of the entire kingdom through both power of coin and the peasants that serve on his fiefdoms. Many lesser houses owe Webber their allegiance, meaning his military might is unmatched when coming to numbers of swords and spears to gather. Not the fairest child of the Webber's house, however. Ever since young age, the Lordling that would be Morholt Webber was prone to violence as a way to prove himself worthy of a lady's attentions.
Height: 1.83 meters
Weight: 90 kgs
Build: Strong, broad shoulders and thick arms and legs, but the years starts to show making him a round belly to match his barrel-chest.
Hair: Dark brown. Only shown into his bear, as his hair was clean shaven once he started to grow naturally bald.
Eyes: Grey
Other Features: Slowly grows fat, albeit always riding in jousts and fighting into melee in every tournament possible. A leader of man, a ponderous fighter that takes pride into his skill on both battlefield and bedchamber.

EDIT: Oh, just seen your Edit right now. I was posting the character up as you written it down. Well, I can always modify the character as needed to make him fit - if possible, of course.

Ooh no he's fine, and he's accepted. The only questions I have for him is if he's a general or not. He's just old enough he might have been a soldier at the end of the war with Miranth. As the serving age for military and guards and such is 16 he might be one of the surviving officers left over from Mad King Wallace's march of fire. His father might even have perished in the campaign

LordLuck

I'm glad! :)

Well, he is a Lord who drills troops and can certainly command them. Yes, he might act as a general, but as I had seen Morholt as being part of an older aristocracy, it would really depend on how the Kingdom's Military is Organized. Around a Modern Military, certainly he could be a general. The thing is, there could be a general that isn't of noble birth...
I do like the idea of having him being a veteran of the war with Miranth, yes. That could work wonderfully. The idea of having his father perishing in that war also appeals to me very much.

Morholt is meant to be someone that can offer much in the way of warriors and maybe even coin, but that is less than 'pleasant' in person sometimes.

Untamed Skies

I think in this time in place it's likely either you're a general who employs soldiers, or a lord who has a large mercenary force working under him. If you ever heard of Romance of the Three Kingdoms era, or the Feudal era of Japan, the state of the country is very close too the brink of civil war among nobles trying too get power, but has thus far been held in check. So it's very possible you're accumulating man power too fend off these traitors. It's possible you have a plan in case the princess chooses poorly, and don't forge the wounds between Miranth are still fresh, if things stay this way too long perhaps Erani will look too vulnerable and could invite attack from Miranth and start a new war, or even the neighboring countries. There are a great number of reasons too have your troops you might think about.

Untamed Skies

On another note right now we have we have 7 people in the group, 3 men too 4 women and 3 suitors vying for the princess's hand. I believe we have enough we can get the role play started and leave it open for just a couple more people too join. I'm thinking a cap of ten would probably be appropriate. I figured I'd go ahead and get everyone's opinion we could wait a bit longer and have a full cast or go ahead and start.

Finished editing my profile.

I don't mind starting up soon. Again, more interest may be generated once we have more threads up in different forums.
