This game will be played using the Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG system!

Set in the world of Eth, a planet which has been molded my supernatural forces and ancient unknown entities. Beneath it's surface lay hundreds of thousands of passageways, corridors, and hollows both natural and man-made. These places appear in every corner of the world, and within them are items of incredible worth and, more often than not, power. But beneath the surface is where the 'monsters' live. Bizarre and seemingly unnatural beings of every shape and size. The normal rules of nature and climate don't function as they do here. Tundra, forests, deserts, and mountains are separated by hair-thin borders and called "Territories". The mortal races of the world are strong, accustomed to fighting and skilled at discovering any little advantage they can to give them an edge on this hostile planet. In fact, there's quite a lot of wealth to be had, diving into the catacombs, fighting the ever-increasing flow of monsters, and searching for lost items and secrets beneath the surface.

Our characters will begin as a newly formed team of dungeon-delvers off in search of treasure and adventure and other glorious things, before being swept off into a mysterious conflict!

For anyone who wishes to join and knows how to make a character, we'll begin at level 2, using the Core Exxet Rules, and the Limits to Abilities/Supernatural Abilities optional rules! For those purposes, this is a High Supernatural world.

For those who don't know exactly how to make a character, myself or Mr.Muse will be happy to assist you : D.

Muse informed me and I am somewhat interested. I've played Anima Beyond Fantasy for a little while, and failed at getting a steady group running more than once, but those things still make the game interesting to me.

Beyond the core book, is there anything else you're allowing ? (Btw, my suggestion would be to not do so)

As for character concepts, I tend to play males, and I hope that doesn't cause for a problem ?

Well, I'm technically allowing everything '^^. Though nothing beyond that book is required to make a character and be very interesting @w@. I'll also be glad to translate/provide individual sections of other books to people who might like to attempt it.

The game was produced in Spain.  The concept was produced in spain as something of a mix between western heroic fantasy and Japanese animation.  I'm quite of it and will be happy to help anyone out. 

Character generation involves character classes, but they mostly serve to structure a point by system. 

There are a number of mundane themed character structures, from Warrior and Weapon Master, to Freelancer (jack of all trades or normal person falling into adventure) and ranger. 

There are also three forms of supernatural abilities--all using the core mechanic in slightly different ways to represent different themes. 
--Magic is capable of the most dramatic effects, but can also take time to build up, and longer to restore one's pool of "zeon" to fuel the spells. 
--Psychic powers don't have a pool, but will fatigue you if you fail to activate them.  In extreme situations, the fatigue can be sufficient to kill your character. 
--Ki is the least over the top, but still very dramatic with colorful themes, like combat techniques based on reflections in ice.  Like magic, the power comes out of a pool, but it recharges more quickly.

There are a few other methods of power as well.

Summoning can be the central focus of a character. Summoners are capable of doing a number of things. The most basic of which is summoning supernatural beings, and binding them to their will. They also have powers known as invocations, which are beings that when summoned will produce a single effect and then vanish.

Elan is another possibility. Technically, Elan means the synchronization of a character with a certain god. The more Elan you have with a specific god, the more of that god's abilities you may receive.

I have two concepts in my head I'd like to play.

A Pure Summoner who doesn't specialize on any being in particular, and in 'alignment' (which the system doesn't have) is deep gray.

The other option is a Technician (or Tao) specifics not entirely clear yet.

Btw, Malixe, before, when I said deep gray, that was in regard to black / white magic. Where black is magic purely for selfish use, and white is for the benefit of others. So not necessarily on an ethical alignment.

Also .. sixty points ... whoot.

Will work on both the summoner and the Ki User.

The broad character concept is a spunky little spitfire who's reasonably good at whatever she does (that's part of the conversation), but seems to have trouble staying out of trouble. If there's any possibility of finding something to get into, she'll be the one who stumbles into it. Trap to trip over, she'll trip over it... hole to fall into, she'll fall... Monster looking to molest, she'll end up being the girl molested... don't touch that button, she'll touch it... she may be the one that everyone has to keep pulling out of the fire. She's a little niave, perhaps mildly clueless and doesn't want to admit that she might actually enjoy the molesting part more than she should.

Basically, she's not a clutz, she just has a tendency to find herself in awkward situations because she's really eager to help out, or see what's around the corner... things like that. Muse has some ideas on how to work it out, but the concept may change a little in the process.

Hopes this doesn't drive anyone off or get me tossed out. lol

I've played the card game, which is why the subject title caught my eye, although I imagine there is a world of difference between the card game and what seems to be a full-on rpg. Still, I would love to learn it, and I would be willing to make whatever kind of character might still be needed.

I'm familiar with the card game and know a little of the miniatures game, but I haven't tried out the RPG at all yet, so I'd also have to learn from scratch.

A lot of things appealed to me about the card game. The anime feel, the sense of adventure, fiddling with different powers and abilities.

As for kinds of characters I like playing, I tend to gravitate towards spell casters, but I have also been known to play rogues and monks. I would love to play some kind of character with some roguish abilities, and some ki abilities, if such a character would fit in. I'm flexible, though, and would be willing to play just about anything that was needed, since I joined after the others.

Sadly it is true that we're just about full up on players =w=. Anima is difficult to run with lotsa people.

The second choice sounds much more like what I was thinking of playing. I would love to play a thief martial artist.  :-)

I've been in touch with Malixe, as well, and we are trying to iron out some time for me to learn the system... I have the next three nights off so I should have a fair bit of time in there in which to get caught up to speed and such.

Got my character done, with heaps of assistance from Malixe.  :D

Reya

Reya was always an overachiever. She always went for the hardest challenges, because it made her blood boil and also yielded the sweetest rewards. This worked for quite a while, until the day she bit off way more than she could chew and ultimately perished in the attempt. This would have been the end of her story, were it not for a necromancer who happened to find her rotting corpse, and decide to resurrect her, giving her back her life, her body and her soul, as well as new regenerative and protective properties... but not without a few caveats.

Her newly reformed skin is very soft and smooth, and quite sensitive to most materials, leaving her unable to wear armor or even very much in the way of clothing. And she was also cursed with a dependency to semen, presumably so she would come crawling to her new master and beg for sex every night. Things did not go according to the evil wizard's plan. At all. After a few days, Reya got sick of following his orders, so she kicked him in the balls and high tailed it out of there. Now she wants nothing more than to resume her life as adventurer, for things to be as much like her old life as they possibly can, while trying to work around her new 'quirks'.

Cum Requirement: For each day that Reya does not feed, she gains an All-Action Penalty of -10. This continues for each day afterward until she reaches a maximum of -100 to all actions.

Sensitive Skin: Due to the nature of her skin, All abrasive or restricting material can cause a reaction in her skin which can grow to a point of devastatingly painful.

If she does come into contact with such material, the negative depends on how much of her it covers, and the material itself.

The negative can climb to a total of -80, and always reduces at 1 point per minute.

Examples of things that would incur a Sensitive Skin Penalty;

- Wearing something like a bandana, wrist-band, or loincloth of certain material would incur a penalty of -10 each hour if loose, or a -5 each minute if tight. Things like gloves, manacles, and standard undergarments would fall into this catagory.

- Wearing a vest. If it was very loose, Reya would gain the penalty at a rate of 10 per minute. If it is very tight, it could even progress at a rate of 10 per turn.

- Being fully clothed. While heavily dependent on what the outfit is made of, but generally, the penalty will be 20 per minute if the outfit is loose, and 20 per turn if it is tight.

- Being struck by a weapon of steel. While very minor, being struck can incite a negative. Each time damage is dealt, she must make a base presence resistance of 100 or gain a -5.

The cum hungry part is actually interesting in very weird way. I like the martial arts bits too. With what I'm working on there is actually overlap.

If only I didn't end up with a blockage currently.

My current point of conflict between me and the character is the following, maybe someone here can help.

My character is a learned physician, but also a very talented manipulator of his own inner ki. While he studies medicine with actual interest, to him, that is an extension to his art. His martial art.

And yes, that means he actually loves the challenge of a good fight. Participates in tournaments when available and might even just seek out places where a fight can be found.

That was roughly the personality of the character, who carries a different form of enlightenment, but is still enlightened. Now, the issue comes when that character meets my own wants and desires.

I'm looking at 3 basic martial arts, 3 advanced martial arts and two Ars Magnus that fit this character and his interests. Not that strange for a Tao and also not so strange for the system. What is strange is that I can't find a pacing to the Martial Knowledge I have to spend on Ki Abilities (I can take all that I want and need from the start). And that is actually my main issue. The concept is sound, but I have no pacing for him.

But yes! Uhm, what would this issue be Mr.Dingo? :3. From what you've written, it sounds like the problem is that you can take all the Ki Abilities you need right from the start >w<. Which is okay. Did you want some help choosing those martial arts/ars magnus? :p Because we could definitely do this! Sounds like he'd be a mean Mushin-user =w=. In time.

Mr. Malixe, the issue is indeed in the fact that I have the ability to pick everything on my list.

It's all useful, but I don't think it all fits to have from the start. As for Mushin, that martial arts is indeed on the list I'm interested in. As are Lama Tsu and Velez.

As for the basic martial arts, those are much easier. Those are Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Aikido and Lama (not in any order of interest).

As for Ars Magnus, that's simple. Both the monofilament and the needles are of great interest.

But thing is, that would be what I want the character to work toward to. Not to be almost on his way to have from the start.

And that's where my issues lies with this one.

I see :p. I suppose that could be an issue. Is there no way to deplete your MK and divert that effort into something else? I don't know if you've chosen Martial Mastery, or bought any MK >w<. If not then we can also look at other minor Ars Magnus. I do intend to use 'Ki/Martial Art/Magic' learning rules in this game. (Though that doesn't necessarily help us right at the start =w=)

... That's really weird... I was looking through the book, and I chose that exact lineup to recommend XD (Minus Aikido, but this is also very nice <3)

Oh~, those are the Impossible Weapons ^^. I thought you meant Ars Magnus as in Samael: Final Retribution, or Raikou: Lightning Blade.

Well, at least those martial arts and Ars Magnus (Scratch that, was looking at Sagittarius not Capricorn) will take some time ;w;. How much do you have spent in Primary abilities? Usually, I would say that 50% is a good maximum, unless combat is your character's life (Which... Actually, might be true for your character ;w;. Maybe)
