I will admit, this gave me a bit of a 'aaaaaah!' moment this morning as I was trying to figure out why all my dialogue was blue. XD I didn't realize it was a greasemonkey thing, heh, n' was desperately looking around for whatever widget or dial or knob I'd accidentally jostled to accomplish this. Freaked me out a little! I realized it might be greasemonkey while I was browsing the help forum, thankfully, and fixed it.

Should it be turned on by default, though? :-)

I know I wasn't messing with my greasemonkey settings.

Yes, on reflection, default-off might have made more sense.  One of the features I plan to incorporate later should help with things like that - a sort of update 'splash screen' type thing that's there to tell you there's been an update and what is new.  Then, even if I inadvisedly set something default-on again, at least it will be clear what is going on.

The promised 'splash screen' feature is now live.

v1.31.0 of the script onwards should now tell you that a new version has been installed and point you in the direction of this thread for details.  There's a click-to-make-it-go-away link :D

Briefly, before I head to bed.... a new version and a new feature.

v1.30.0 brings 'Speech Styling'.  Basically you can use this to make speech stand out in posts.  So long as the speech is enclosed in double quotes - "".

The settings can be found in the "Style Speech" section of the settings menu and, by default, are set to style speech in blue :)

BTW,-- question,-- when you have quick topics selected and the "goes to last post" checked? At least on chrome, I've noticed that it only does to the last post of the first page. Is that intended behavior??

Yes - it does work that way and it's limitations of the forums (and fairly sensible ones) :(  It would go to the last post in the topic except that the ";all" bit of the URL only works for topics that have a few pages worth of replies.  If it gets too big, it refuses to show all of the posts and so goes to the last one that it is allowed to display.

Hi,

This is a result of the script doing "speech styling" which you can switch off in the settings.  It's detecting one quote ("") but but not the other (””).  I'll make some tweaks to fix that but in the meantime you can put it back to normal behaviour by switching off speech styling in the settings.

And new v1.31.2 should be out and should fix the issue.  It's not perfect as I'd like to treat the open and close quotes as different to neutral quotes but it's as good a fix as I'll manage before work travel, tomorrow :)

So I've been having this strange issue with drafts for a little while though not EVERY time.

This latest occurrence is stranger than normal...

I had one draft saved of a reply I began the other day. It showed up in the list of drafts and when insert to the text box, it came along with a partial from an older post for a couple of weeks ago.

When this issues started happening, it would typically just duplicate the same draft, adding copies of the same draft for each time I'd saved it. I have tried hitting clear draft, waiting a moment, then hitting save draft and still I end up with the whole thing repeating (and repeating and repeating sometimes).

I have Auto-Save draft set to 2 minutes and have Auto-clear draft when you post checked. Number of manual drafts to keep is set at 5.

Perhaps it is something on my end with my browser doing this? I use Chrome on a Windows 10 laptop.

I suspect it's down to my script rather than your browser.  Do you have the editor set to show you the formatted text or the formatting?  I seem to remember a bug a while back that was around the former and maybe that is recurring...

The way to tell is when you make something bold, do you see it bold i the edit box or do you see the b's in little brackets on either side of it?

OK - that rules out that as a possibility.  I'll take a proper poke at the code soon :)  Drafts need a bit of an overhaul I think.   Thanks for reporting the bug :)

So when you have a post that includes only a single instance of a " then the whole rest of the post becomes highlighted by the special formatting code.

I've seen it happening on things like character sheets that have height info in them.

This post should also be an example.

Thanks for spotting that.  I now have look-ahead goodness to prevent a single quote painting everything.  Of course, if you have two sets of quotes (even if you intend them to be inches) it interprets that as quoting speech.

For speech styling, is there a way to have it interact with the BBCode and not override the color of text?  For example, if I were to have my script setting for "color: green", it'd override the blue tag I set.
