Charmed Next Generation (recruiting)

Hey everyone, so I would like to open a new game roughly based on Charmed the TV series.

I will not be playing a main character in this but will just do the NPC's such as demons and boyfriends/ girlfriends
The characters will not be the original sisters but Wyatt and Chris's generations children. They can be either male or female.

They can have any main power and develop up to three powers each (the powers must connect E.g. like with Piper she can freeze and explode)

The main story will of course revolve around the original Halliwell home.

This game is not meant to be quick moving I'm looking for one post each a week from each writer including myself as the other characters or mearly narrator. I already have quite a few games in process and it is Christmas so I understand people are busy! :)

Ooh interesting! So I've wrote a potential start which I will post here later but for now let's talk about Maxiumus! Is he going to be the white lighter assigned to the new witches? How would he react to being Leo's grandchildren's white lighter. Have you an idea for now he became a white lighter?

I think you would have to have her lean more towards the cupid traits... her powers would be diluted yes but at the same time she has the lineage of a creature not born of earth.

Definitely play up the Cupid trait, Phoebe became an empath towards the end I think? So it would make sense for her to have a similar power base?!

That works for me. I think to make up for the lack of power she could be really good at developing potions and conjuring. Both Coop and Phoebe empaths, so naturally those gifts would be passed on. If remember correctly cupid gets his powers from his ring so maybe she inherits it.

That is a good question! Well season 8 of charmed concluded in 2006 and Wyatt was about 4 maybe, so 20 years for him to grow up plus another 15 or so for the children which makes it roughly 2041! So apparently this is a futuristic setting!? Or we could just set it in present day?! Don't mind either.

So if piper,phone and page are 1st generation that makes Wyatt and Chris 2nd, so our characters would be the 3rd generation.

I  say 2044! It doesnt have to be ultra futuristic! Charmed already kind of showed us what that future would look like with the Chris Story Line!

But of course with him not turning! So instead of it being a dystopian it would probably be a resurgence of magic back into the modern day world.

Not without stealing powers. He's only 1/4 demon so I figured after growing to his prime aging slowed to 1 year for every 10 lived. So somewhere in his mid 20's it slowed and he aged the equivalent of 12 or 13 years. So appears late 30's to early 40's

Background Detective Darryl   Morris spent his entire career protecting the Halliwell sisters and their secrets. Even after leaving the bayside he found himself sucked back into their world. Before he passed away he passed on the sacred torch to his youngest son Darryl Jr who like him did his best to protect the secret world. After years of cleaning up after the family, the young detective became a part of the family. There was always an emotional connection between PJ and Jr although they fought the two like cats and dogs. They eventually fell in love and started their own family.  From a young age, Victoria did not demonstrate the same gifts as her relatives. She inherited her grandparent’s gift of empathy and was taught by both of them how to control this power.  Growing up she found herself more attracted to the romantic life of a cupid, over the last few years she has been training with her grandfather Coop and learning how to use the gift of cupids ring.

Age Approximately 150 looks late 30's to early 40's
Description Standing at 6'1” he is a lean 178 pounds. He keeps his hair cut short but can usually be found with the stubble of a two to three day growth of a beard. His hair is a medium brown with hints of gray. He rarely wears suits or dress pants, he is much more comfortable in jeans, though not tee shirts.

Root Power Demonic, Energy Ball & Shimmering(teleport), slowed aging.
Personality To most he is kind of stand offish and even intimidating. Get past that though and he is fun loving and irreverent with a strong mischievous nature. He has a problem with authority always seems to doing the opposite of what he is supposed to do, simply because he is supposed to. If asked he will tell people, “If you don't want me to do something, than don't tell me I can't do it.” A sure fire way to get him not do something is to tell him to do it, he just naturally balks at commands, being ordered to do something. Despite that he can be very carrying and compassionate. Under his hard nose appearance he is actually a sensitive and lonely individual, living so much longer than others has made him a bit cynical and hard to get close to.
Developed Powers Sensing, Sleep Induction
Relationship status Single, would be open to changing that.
Background Born somewhere around the end of the 19th century or beginning of the 20th to a young witch who got pregnant after a short fling with a charming, and dangerous man during her rebellious youth. She was only 19 when he was born and the father was already long gone having ended their fling before the pregnancy was known. Being a single mother at that time she never married and was forced to raise him with the help of her own mother. Having a child so young she quickly gave up her rebellious ways and followed her mother's guidance in the ways of the Wiccans. So he was raised by and around witches. He always had a mischievous streak though never truly cruel, he enjoyed playing jokes on others. He seemed to always think rules were meant to be broken. “You don't want me to do something, than don't tell me I can't.” Seemed to be the way he lived. Telling him he could not or was not allowed to do something was almost a guarantee that he would at least try. The fact that from an early age he seemed to be able to just know where other people were allowed him to do this without being caught quite a lot. Mom and Grandma could never seem to catch him with his hand in the cookie jar as it were. They just thought he was a spirited boy.

In his teen years though his energy ball first manifested and this concerned the two witches as not only was not a power known to be in their bloodline but it looked so much like a demonic power. They then became quite certain that he had demonic blood when he shimmered one day. That form of teleportation was definitely only known to be used by demons. They decided that must have been why no attempts to find his father had been successful and all further attempts stopped. They did not want him to get in touch with his paternal heritage. As he grew into an adult he left the witches and in trying to find himself bounced between being a petty criminal to a fairly upright citizens. He discovered demons on his and spent some time in the underworld, but down there the rules were just too much for him, especially with the emphasis on hurting people and killing witches. He had many different jobs and careers over the years. He found that he works best on his own not having to follow other peoples rules. Most recently he has been working for several years as a bond retrieval agent, bounty hunter. He has learned that some rules are not meant to be broken but only a few.

White lighters powers are very simple they can orb (teleport) and heal! That kind of is their main and only powers

Like, okay, Wyatt and Chris have whitelighter powers.  How much of those do their kids get?  Maximum of two powers...should that include one witchy, one whitelighter?

 Actually White Lighters have a bit more powers than one might actually think. It's just orbing and healing are the two most visual. Most of their powers are supportive in nature so to speak. Here is the full list of powers they do have.

Photokinesis: The ability to create and manipulate light and orbs.

Like, okay, Wyatt and Chris have whitelighter powers.  How much of those do their kids get?  Maximum of two powers...should that include one witchy, one whitelighter?

I would say one witchy one white lighter

For instance Paige gets the witch power of telekensis but it ties into her white lighter power she can call out for an item and bring it to her via orbing

Well to be fair the potion making and TK are more than likely things that came about in the comics that came after the series ended. Which I believe the show's creator has stated that whatever happened in the comic books was considered cannon and such. But I think the potion making is part of it as I believe in one or two episodes we see Leo making a potion himself and as we do know he wasn't a witch in his former life in the least.

I may be wrong here is my take on White Lighters I got from watching the show, I fairly recently binge watched the entire 8 seasons on Netflix.

When a mortal becomes a White Lighter they automatically get:
Orbing
Healing
Immortality
Sensing their charges
and Omnilingualism

In my opinion things like scrying and potion making are more skills developed making use of magical energies.

The other powers come with experience as they build up to possibly becoming elders.

I know they also have the whole levitate and manipulating light particles thing. The original Lady of the Lake was an unknown magical being. In order to protect herself from the sword's corruption, she submerged the sword and herself in a lake for centuries.

Andiun was born in the Scottish countryside to his village's chieftain and rune shaman and the village's medicine woman witch. As he grew up Andiun in those chaotic times Andiun learned much from his parents including how to wield a sword and to understand the ways of both good and evil. Being born into a magically active family, Andiun knew of the fight between both good and evil. He was awareof it at both the physical level as well as the metaphysical level. As he grew Andiun learned magic and sword but he also learned his principles and morals from his father who taught him the one lesson he will never forget. "Destroy your enemies, protect the weak, love justice but do mercy." In those days Andiun's village had been ravaged by invaders from the south seeking nothing but conquest and spoils. It was in one of these battles when Andiun was just sixteen that he witnessed his father's greatest act of courage, sacrificing his life to save the village. This left an indelible mark on him for the rest of his life. It was with this act of both kindness and compassion that shaped him to be a defender of his village. After his father's death Andiun became the village chieften. Being relatively young he was however driven to see his people prosper. So with help from his grandfather and mother they managed to get thier fields back into working order along with finding food for the winter months.

As his right of passage he had the runes of Stregnth, Honor, Compassion, Tenacity, Respect and Family tattooed onto his arm as a reminder of his covenant with his people. It was during the next few years that he himself would find his love for another woman who would become his wife and mother of his children. He would become the father of two healthy boys who he would teach the same principles his father taught him. Unfortunately his life would be cut short when he was in his mid twenties. It seemed the same warriors his father had fought years ago came back for revenge. This time however they had brought a pack of demons with them.

As they came over the hill Andiun and his warriors rushed to face them. It was then the demons sprung their trap. They had been forewarned of Andiun's powerful runic magic, information given to them by the  invading tribes. To combat such powerful make they brought along an evil witch. Her task was to cast a spell over the entire village that would essentially condemn them all to death. Her spell created a  evil black shield like aura over the village. As it did it began to drain the life energy from the village people who were still hiding and waiting out the storm.

When Anduin saw the village placed under the witch's evil curse he what he had to do. He spurred his horse and using the skills he had been taught with a sword carved his way to the witch's staging area. After a brief fight with some of her demon body guards he slew both them and the witch who cast the spell. Killing the witch had broken the spell so thus  He gave his commands to his warriors before turning around and rushing back to the village. As he reached the village he could sense the evil power of the spell taking hold. He took a deep breath and called upon his magic. The runes on his his weapon,his vestments and his body began to glow.  When all of the runes were glowing his magic he concentrated it in his hands as he touched the field. The spell reached out to try and engulf him in it's evil magic but Andiun resisted the magic. He battled the spell as the runes on his body began glowing brighter with each passing second. As he fought with the spell he began to channel his very life essence into the runes knowing what such a feat would entail. Knowing what this meant  he not would balk at such a task. It was after all his task as the village chieftain to protect it.

  Finally after several long and tiring minutes of fighting the spell the black aura surrounding the village was suddenly overcome with the gold-white glow of his runic power. As the dark magic was overcome it shattered like so much glass. The life energy that the sepll had stolen by the spell was immediately returned to the dying villagers reviving them. As Andiun lay on the ground, his runic power spent he felt himself begining to fade. The effort of using his lifeforce to power his magic to over the demonic magic had left him drained of his own. He knew he had traded his life and his magic for the lifeforce of the villagers. he had done what he was expected to do as a village chieftain. he had protected them from harm, from having thier very souls stolen from them. At the sight of this his enemies became afraid before them broke and ran. Before the last vestages of his lifeforce left him Anduin offered his prayers to the Elders before closing his eyes as the soft warm glow of the afterlife embraced him.

The sacrifice of his life to save others was the final factor that swayed the Elders. This when combined with maintaining his sense of honor, his time as a teacher, a mentor caring for others above himself and lastly his want not to fight first that he was made a whitelighter by the Elders. He accepted the postion knowing he could still pass on his knowledge to others.

After a brief fight with some of her demon body guards he slew both them and the witch who cast the spell. Killing the witch had broken the spell so thus  He gave his commands to his warriors before turning around and rushing back to the village. As he reached the village he could sense the evil power of the spell taking hold. He took a deep breath and called upon his magic. The runes on his his weapon,his vestments and his body began to glow.  When all of the runes were glowing his magic he concentrated it in his hands as he touched the field. The spell reached out to try and engulf him in it's evil magic but Andiun resisted the magic. He battled the spell as the runes on his body began glowing brighter with each passing second. As he fought with the spell he began to channel his very life essence into the runes knowing what such a feat would entail. Knowing what this meant  he not would balk at such a task. It was after all his task as the village chieftain to protect it.

  Finally after several long and tiring minutes of fighting the spell the black aura surrounding the village was suddenly overcome with the gold-white glow of his runic power. As the dark magic was overcome it shattered like so much glass. The life energy that the sepll had stolen by the spell was immediately returned to the dying villagers reviving them. As Andiun lay on the ground, his runic power spent he felt himself begining to fade. The effort of using his lifeforce to power his magic to over the demonic magic had left him drained of his own. He knew he had traded his life and his magic for the lifeforce of the villagers. he had done what he was expected to do as a village chieftain. he had protected them from harm, from having thier very souls stolen from them. At the sight of this his enemies became afraid before them broke and ran. Before the last vestages of his lifeforce left him Anduin offered his prayers to the Elders before closing his eyes as the soft warm glow of the afterlife embraced him.

The sacrifice of his life to save others was the final factor that swayed the Elders. This when combined with maintaining his sense of honor, his time as a teacher, a mentor caring for others above himself and lastly his want not to fight first that he was made a whitelighter by the Elders. He accepted the postion knowing he could still pass on his knowledge to others.

I don't think we should go too over board with the tech. Flying drones, holograms, vehicles no longer use fossil fuels, police no longer carry lethal side arms, instead and energy based stunner. Things along those lines.

The pay wasn't fabulous and she had to dip into her own pocket sometimes to afford the quality ingredients she wanted for these deserving young people, but it worth it. She knew it was worth it with every smile and heart felt thank you she ever heard, the eyes of each child deeply and sincerely grateful for the simple gift of a hot nutritious filling meal.

Background: From an early age Xavier was obsessed with magic. He grew up as the youngest of a family of six in Chicago. His parents loved him and his sibling but because he was the youngest Xavier frequently got lost in the shuffle. Xavier was an optimist however and spent his time exploring the world around him and the streets of Chicago.

That exploration led him to discover the magical world. He stumbled across a group of magical warlocks and witches practicing their craft in an abandoned manor. Fascinated by what they were doing Xavier continued to watch and learn. This went on for several weeks with him watching the practices and then doing it himself. To his surprise the magical spells worked and thus Xavier discovered he had magical blood.

The coven he was peeping on came to him. They revealed they knew about his watching as well as his magical powers. They trained him throughout the years and he grew quickly through the ranks. By the time he graduated from high school he was considered a master warlock within his coven. They were so impressed that they offered to sponsor him an send him abroad for further training.

And thus Xavier magical training continued to grow. He traveled the world learning far off exotic magical techniques. He felt a particular calling to the monks in Tapai and even shaved his head in honor of them. Eventually he returned back to the states and when offered the position of the new headmaster of magic school took it.

This is less about being sexy and more about less clothing = more comfortable.  Unless it is winter time in which case she bundles up like an Eskimo.  Zoey is tall 5’9” and thin (thanks to her demonic metabolism not her diet which is terrible) with blonde or brown hair which seems to change on a whim or her mood.

Background: Zoey is a trust fund kid.  She has had an easy life up.  Everything she ever wanted was at her fingertips and she likes to spread the wealth around much to her mother’s chagrin.  Zoe befriended the Halliwell girls in high school.  She took an instant liking to the witches which unknown to Zo her father plans on using to his advantage hoping the lazy party girl will rub off on them in all of the wrong ways.  Zoey and her mother are completely oblivious to this plan.  Her mother almost foiled it when she kicked Zoey out of the house intent of forcing the girl to see how “normal” people live. However, the Halliwell’s were kind enough to let Zoey stay with them until she could get back on her feet, which could not have been a better situation for Zoey’s father who continues to funnel her money on the sly so she can work her slothful magic on the sisters with no one including Zoey the wiser.

Zoey knows she has a magical heritage, just not that it is demonic or that her father is a demon.  When her demonic nature takes over she oozes laziness and attempts to get those around her to indulge in her hedonistic shiftless ways.  At some point her bloodline will be revealed and Zoey will face a choice.  Continue to indulge in her demonic nature or learn to do things for herself without magic (okay without magic all the time.
