Interest Check: Fantasy Planet

In the not so distant future, space shuttles are open for trips to other planets for vacations. However on one of the trips, a spacestorm knocks the shuttle off course and it crashes on a strange uncharted planet.

The planet appears to be like earth with a twist. The grand creator of the planet can read your mind. So when you think of something in the form of a daydream or desire, it actually happens.

I read a book based on that premise, once; the catch being, of course, that it also read your nightmares. It ended up as more of a horror story than fantasy, but had some interesting ideas, definitely. I might be interested in this, though I've got a lot on my plate, at the moment.

If there's enough interest to start a small game board, then you could jump in when you like. But currently...meh...doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Didn't they do this as an original series Star Trek ep as well?

Yes, it was the episode Shore Leave from Season 1.

Heh. I thought about that ep too when i checked this thread yesterday. ^^
Was indeed a good story. Not too long ago i saw it again.
Could be good. Depends on the chars involved and the longterm plot.

There could even be something like a society building. Some of the Crash's Survivors only see the potential threat but they're forced to create there food and shelter that way too. Others could take it as the ultimate power and probably missuse it. Having different people with different grades of self control would be interesting too. While some get along nicely with it other probably get in trouble over and over because of there uncontrolled minds.

Help me sort this out: is it personal visions coming to life from the world around -- in which case, do those visions mainly affect the imaginer, or do they affect everyone?  And/or can visions include stories directly including other player characters?
