A friend of mine recently posted on social media a fantastic photo he took of a back alley in Boston, still cobbled and surrounded by brick buildings on both sides, with old-timey lanterns leaning out. He said something about almost being able to hear the ghosts of horse-and-carriages from the 1700s.

On a relevant note, I read with relish today this article about a lost symphony theater, far below street level, hidden under a piano store and much in disarray from disuse.

I've been IN that store! (and am mildly plotbunnied by the idea of a Secret Theater.)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
